41  Other / Archival / Re: I am not worried about Bitstamp recovering in the least.. on: January 08, 2015, 05:26:51 PM
Within 2 weeks it'll be back to business as usual.

What does 'back to business as usual' mean? Bitstamp will be back or bitcoin will be?
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How in the FUCK are you supposed to know what's legit? on: December 29, 2014, 02:32:31 PM
Seriously...between each community fluffing their own coin and the haters on the "neutral" boards shitting on every coin that's just past it's prime, how are you supposed to know what coin is the most prudent investment?

I understand that "research" is worthwhile, but there's only so much you can learn from a coin's website.

You don't need to do any research. Just assume that 99.9% of new alt coins are scams or shitcoins unless they demonstrate something original or new. Oh, and stick with investing in bitcoin and you'll likely do much better.
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Show balances of Several Accounts? on: December 29, 2014, 02:15:12 PM
Hello Guys and Girls,

Consider the following scenario : I have assumed 10 different Bitcoin addresses. is it possible to show me the entire balance of the 10 addresses , without need to login to each account individually ? does it work at all?

Best regards for your help!

If you get a blockchain.info account it does this for you. You can have all sorts of values in each individual wallet but it will show you the total value at the top right. It's very useful. That being said I think it does this in other desktop wallets too.
44  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin should raise when Ruble fall, No ? on: December 18, 2014, 03:24:47 PM
I can see your logic but just because the Ruble is collapsing doesn't mean people are automatically going to buy bitcoin (though some may). They could also buy USD or something as well.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Ruble drops 12% in one day. on: December 18, 2014, 03:23:22 PM
Now they know how us bitcoiners feel. As much as i dislike Russia I think this is bad for them and don't like to see it happen. I also think this is also going to further sour diplomatic relations between the States and them which is also not a good thing.
46  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does the IRS want bitcoins? on: December 08, 2014, 06:44:05 PM
Same reason they always do: they want your hard-earned money to launder to their buddies via various schemes.
47  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: December 08, 2014, 06:35:34 PM
I don't think dollar would come to an end for another 50 years at least. Bitcoin is not that popular to take over.

Right now Bitcoin is not that popular but the Dollar will crash it should become more popular. The Dollar may not end soon but it will lose most its value as the number of Dollar in circulation increases and it becomes a smaller portion of exchanges and reserves in the world
I think that the dollar never coming to an end, because it is not only money, but also a world currency (international means of payment).

There's a lot of fud coming from both pro and anti-USD, but the dollar isn't invincible and constantly printing more and more can certainly be disastrous. Only time will tell what truly happens but people have been announcing it's collapse probably since it started.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest more than you can afford to lose on: November 15, 2014, 10:52:07 AM
Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
Don't invest less than you can afford to lose.
Invest what you can afford to lose.

Once you have freed yourself from your materialistic desires, you'll find that you can afford to lose everything.

Unless you have a family that count on you. Then, neither Bitcoin nor Dollars mean shit. They're are just a means to provide for what is truly important.

I wish as a society we could go back to a more basic time whilst still keeping the technology. I think if people sourced their own food locally and wern't duped into spending their money on shit we'd be in a better society all together.
49  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: November 15, 2014, 10:36:27 AM
Darude - Sandstorm

I was just listening to this as well.  Smiley so good, and its such a old trance song.

Cheesy It's a classic trance tune. It always makes me smile when I come across it in the youtube comments.

Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along:

50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS Bitcoin Safe on: October 29, 2014, 03:38:19 PM
Safe as a banknote.

What does that mean exactly? Bitcoin as a technology is relatively safe but does have some weaknesses, but your actual bitcoins are only as safe as you are.
51  Economy / Services / Re: 0.01 BTC to the person who finds me this song on: October 29, 2014, 03:26:58 PM
Darude - Sandstorm

52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Best way how to prevent BTC wallet from hackers on: October 20, 2014, 01:06:17 PM
Replace Microsoft Windows with GNU/Linux.

This is good advice. I only use my bitcoins when I boot from a live ubuntu operating system so it's clean everytime. It's too easy to get viruses and crap on a windows machine.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is better than Apple Pay? on: October 20, 2014, 12:54:18 PM
Apple fans said Apple Pay is better
Bitcoin fans said Bitcoin is better

But, me personally bitcoin is much more better  Cheesy
I only use Apple Pay if iPhone is very cheap & there are discount if you use Apple Pay  Grin
And Bitcoin have very big potential while Apple Pay don't have big potential as bitcoin

You should ditch your iphone and get another then pay with a bitcoin app. We need more people to move away from Apple until they get the message.
54  Other / Off-topic / Re: My identity has been STOLEN on: September 30, 2014, 02:52:49 PM
I don't get how you think your identiity has been stolen from this? Looks like they got into your paypal all Walmart account but that's about it.
55  Economy / Digital goods / Re: amazon gift card 60$ on: September 26, 2014, 05:14:36 PM
please go get escrow..  Cheesy

Escrow doesn't really work with these things because they can be chargebacked later on, though I'd suggest using an escrow just to make sure he actually has a card in the first place.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: people need to stop looking at bitcoin as an open source paypal on: September 26, 2014, 04:57:42 PM
I think looking at it like an 'open source paypal' is a great way, but instead of using corrupt fiat money it uses it's own honest money and cuts out the bad parts along the way.
57  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: September 14, 2014, 06:17:21 PM
Sandstorm by Darude, best song ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSYxT9GM0fQ

Maybe not the best song ever but I like it so much I named myself after it. It's a trance classic.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We could position Bitcoin as a currency for Kids on: September 14, 2014, 06:01:13 PM

Do you think that users of Bitcoin should have to understand the technology to use it?

Only at a basic level. Like you don't need to know how a mobile pohone works to use one, but there's certain things you need to understand or be aware of before you can use it.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Charlie Shrem Pleads Guilty - What do you think? on: September 01, 2014, 10:37:20 AM
I'm sure he only plead guilty because that was his only option. Plead not guilty and he'd probably get a hell of a lot longer. What has the other guy pleaded?
