41  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 27, 2014, 05:53:41 PM
Is there any proof of that they are mining at all?

Now there are no proof. They aren't giving a pic of their miners, not going the pool they mine(if they're) and I couldn't see a block if they are using their own pool. So I came to a conclusion : "It is definitely a ponzi scheme"
Kindly,
        MZ
they have a pool that they direct their miners to. Blockchain.info reports they their pool does find blocks.
42  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Faucets that Work on: July 27, 2014, 05:46:57 PM
Those faucets are a waste of time, payouts are extremely low. They used to be good. But those times are over.

Better sell something for BTC, offer a service, or simply use one of the signature programs here.

ya.ya.yo!
+1

Using faucets will eventually eat your time away and will leave you will only miniscule amounts of bitcoin in your wallet that is mostly unspendable because the TX fee necessary to spend it would be more then what you would receive.

Hope u guys earn something from faucets to get you started, but i think you could use your time more efficiently.
Try offering something that will be found usefull to others , like design , coding skill, writing ..etc , as it will bring you much more profit than wasting time on faucets.

cheers
you will literally need to spent hours of "work" to earn one penny worth of bitcoin. You have many ways that are much easier it get a little bit of bitcoin.

It used to be that a man would immigrate to a country and had enough money on hand to be able to get by for about a week until he could find a job. He was screened coming in for disease and then would go to the local section of town where similar ethnicities would converge. He would then work his ass off for many years and only then would he be able to bring his wife and kids over from the mother country. Sadly, this isn't the case in recent times which is driving the sentiments about immigrants as a whole. Lately, by and large most of these people are coming here for promised amnesty which isn't law and using public entitlements which is additional negative PR in a stagnant and declining country where the average person isn't thriving.
This is another reason why we should cut all kinds of entitlement programs in the US
44  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia is offering big bucks to de-anonymize Tor on: July 25, 2014, 11:33:28 PM
It is very easy to identify people who use TOR, you only need to check with ISPs to see who is connecting to a gatekeeper.

45  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel: Operation Protective Edge on: July 25, 2014, 11:03:33 PM
Here's my peace process plan:

Point 1: Israel withdraws from the West Bank. In exchange, Israel gets 2 Los Angeles Class submarines, 10 F-22s, and 20 F-35s. Afterwards, it annexes all of East Jersualem and gives Arabs living their equal rights as Israeli citiizens. It then annexes the Golan Heights and gives everyone there equal rights as Israeli citizens.

Point 2: Mahmoud Abbas cuts ties with Hamas in exchange for an Israeli guarantee to never expand territory, even after winning any future defensive wars.

Point 3: Israel agrees to never expand territory as long as the Golan Heights, pre-1967 Israel, and a united Jerusalem (East and West) are recognized as Israeli and Ramallah becomes the Palestinian capitol.

Point 4: Israel makes peace with the Palestinians and with all of its neighbors and they work together financially and politically.
Why should Israel annexes Jerusalem why not give Jerusalem to the Palestinians ? and why should Israel be armed even further ?

Hamas finds it reason in existence, in the colonization of Palestine by Israel, if Israel, goes to pre-1967 there won't any war, especially is Palestinians are allowed to have their own country with real institution with police and army that could enforce order.
Hammas only point to exist is to try to get Israel out of their holy land and to promote their religion.

The really messed up part is that the Ukraine let the separatists go to Russia. There is nothing the could do to stop Russia. So what are the separatists worried about now, they won! Why are they shoot birds out of the sky?

It's just awful and meaningless and just pushes world-wide point of views on conflict and terrorism one step closer to more universal violence.
I don't think they exactly key them go to Russia as Ukraine is out gunned and out funded

Sanctions against Russia spark AK-47 buying frenzy in US
http://rt.com/usa/175652-kalashnikov-sanction-gun-sales/

Quote
Russian-made firearms are reportedly flying off the shelves of American gun stores after the United States Treasury Department announced sanctions last week against the maker of the popular AK-47 rifle.

And Russian stocks are up after the European sanctions.

Sanctions be good.  Grin
I would disagree. Russia is posing a serious threat to Europe and the US.
48  Economy / Gambling / Re: Invest Your Bitcoin - Earn 200% ROI Monthly - Guaranteed Bitcoin Profit on: July 22, 2014, 09:45:11 PM
I don't think there is anything that is guaranteed when investing your money.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone that stole BTC have been caught, ever? on: July 22, 2014, 09:26:45 PM
yeah it's kind of strange. i'm convinced that people equally have the knack to make money as they do to losing it. same goes with degenerate gamblers.

Yaaa well, I guess it's the greed getting the best of them! You always see people abandon all their due diligence and cautiousness as soon as there's the chance of winning a lot of money involved!
Fear and greed often cloud the minds of "investors" when they are making what should be sound decisions with their money.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin does not have a volatility problem! on: July 22, 2014, 09:14:20 PM
seriously why are we still calling it a currency? at best, it's a quasi currency. it has some qualities that make it a medium of exchange, but it has other qualities as well. if it were 100% a currency, people wouldn't be hoarding it as much as they do.
People hoard bitcoin because they think it is going to increase in value in the future. Bitcoin is very much a medium of exchange as it allows people to trade very easily. What bitcoin is missing is being a store of value because it's price varies so much from day to day.
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Bitfinex Credit Bubble cannot end well on: July 20, 2014, 01:27:17 AM
With the new changes, do you think Bitfinex will liquidate BTC to USD in a predictable way? Or do you think they will speculate to some extent? (i.e. not dumping every day at 00:00 UTC, etc)

Doubt it will be predictable. I really don't think they will just dump immediately. They are already floating the interest amount, so it would easily be an amount they were willing to speculate on. They have a strong incentive NOT to crash the market, IMO.
I don't think it would be so unpredictable that it would cause havoc on the market, but rather it would be random, but also in small enough amounts so that market would not be greatly affected.
52  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ross Ulbricht 140k bitcoins potential auction and market crash in future. on: July 20, 2014, 01:18:25 AM
Given how well the 30K coin auction went I am much less concerned about this one, especially since it may not ever happen.

Yea and it will not happen soon, since the government has first to win the lawsuit against Ulbricht before auctioning them.
Not only that but the net effect of the price was mostly neutral so I wouldn't really be worried.
53  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Microsoft tells users to stop using strong passwords everywhere on: July 19, 2014, 09:59:16 PM
If the site that you are using the password for properly restricts login attempts by both IP address and by username then it should be very difficult to gain access to even a weak password if the attacker doesn't have a hash of the password.
54  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaysia Airlines MH17 Crash: Boeing 777 Crashed in Ukraine Near Russian Bor on: July 19, 2014, 09:51:14 PM
This is sickening that the Russians would kill innocent civilians like this.

PLS, give any proof, how Russians shot a plane in deep territory under control of Kiev forces.
The territory that shot the SAM was/is controlled by pro-Russian separatists. These forces were likely supplied with these SAMs by Russia.
