Translated Topic in Pidgin Language: Why KYC dey extremely dangerous – and usesless
Original Topic: Why is KYC extremely dangerous – and usesless
Author: 1miau

All of us dey fear make wey no lose money because of hacks, scams, our own mistake or bad decisions (to buy useless shitcoins, to sell coins too late or too early, etc). Most topics don cover issues wey be like dis one. But wen e don come to loses, make you dey aware say e plenty pass money wey person fit lose... By dis, wetin I dey try talk na de identity theft of any type of personal data. Make you dey protect your data and pay attention to privacy dey same way you dey protect your money. After all, money dey replaceable; na "only" financial loss. Once dem don steal your identity, you no fit undo am.

Na where de issue lie be dis. One of de best way to protect yourself from identity theft na to understand de lie about KYC. Some crypto services dey require deir users to undergo de so-called "KYC" nowadays. KYC mean say "know your customer" and dem dey use am force users to send personal documents to a company or organization. Already e don become a big problem as some companies dey very strict and dem no go allow you use their services, even if you just wan buy crypto wey na only hundred of dollars.

De official purpose of KYC suppose be to prevent money laundering (wey dem dey call AML, anti-money laundering) and terrorist financing. Na US mainly introduce strict KYC and AML after 9/11 and many countries come dey guided by their SEC to set KYC as a requirement. AML been don exit before but only for institutions and wen big amount of money dey involve. Average customers come dey affected after SEC introduce de restrictions. Wen you look am, KYC sound good as e go help shut down criminal activities. Unfortunately, e dey different in reality. KYC for crypto no dey always help to stop money laundering or reduce criminal activity; or de prevention of terrorist financing. On de contrary - KYC dey endanger our privacy and dey encourage criminal activities (via KYC scams, identity theft and oda means).

KYC dey encourage identity theft

Wen person dey do KYC, dem go force dem to hand over parts of their personal identity to a third party (example na exchange, ICO etc). After dat point, dem no go dey in control of de process anymore and dem go dey totally exposed as dem go depend on de third party to handle their sensitive data safely. If dem suffer hack, the affected persons no go fit do anything.

Persons wey dey concern about de safety of deir data and wey no wan submit their personal information for KYC, dem go exclude am from using de service.

E dey clear say de risk for normal users dey inevitable wen dem force dem to give deir personal data to unknown people or centralized service. Guarantee no dey say your personal data dey safe their and dem fit even hack big companies with high security standards.

As things dey for digitalized world, companies/organizations wey dey collect KYC dey vulnerable to hacks. We don see am wen big companies like Binance suffer hack, how de hackers dey able to steal large number of KYC materials.

Dis na just de events wey dem don report. E dey very possible say e get plenty KYC hacks wey dem never publicly acknowledge, because such knowledge go cause harm to de business of exchange or de KYC providers demselves. E dey certain, say professional hackers go don dey develop ways to successfully hack and obtain personal data wey dey relevant for passing KYC.

This come lead to anoda problem: with KYC enforcement upadan, personal documents don become valuable black market commodity and already de incentive to hack or steal identities dey huge. Therefore, e dey inevitable say a very big illegal market for identities go surface if dem enforce KYC everywhere. All users wey dem force to perform KYC of any kind, dey under risk as deir personal data go fit end up for sale on de black market. E make am easy for criminals to purchase "identity packages" wey compose of hacks on de black market of all personal data wey dem need to impersonate de a user wey dem don hack him data, dem go open account with him name use perform illegal activities.

Quote
Two days ago cnn.com release one article “Hacked Customer Data From World-Leading Cryptocurrency Exchanges For Sale On De Dark Web?” For de darknet market called “Dread,” a vendor wey dey go by de name “ExploitDOT” dey attempt to sell user data from de know-your-customer (KYC) data wey top cryptocurrency exchanges dey ask for, wey most jurisdictions require.

Today my colleague contact de seller, him offer to sell at 15 USD for each document (passport or ID, proof of address, selfie photo), total 45 USD per one person. E dey necessary to buy atleast 100 KYC identities (together for 45 USD). De seller been dey willing to use a trusted escrow service for de crypto transaction which mean say de offer fit dey trustworthy.
Source

Hack identities dey very valuable for criminals, especially if dem go fit tie de identity to oda details wey dey relevant for crimes against de affected individual. Some of these include:

  • name and physical address (from various documents or bills)
  • government-ID, passports, pictures or selfies
  • biometric data (fingerprint, face- or iris-scan)
  • various data from utility bills, source of wealth, employer or bank account
  • passwords, used e-mail address
  • used crypto addresses including deposits/withdrawals (+ linking oda related addresses via blockchain research)

Criminals fit use dis data in various ways wey no good:

  • Dem fit use am commit criminal activities simply by impersonating de person wey dem hack him data and open account with him name use perform illegal activities.

  • Criminals fit use some of de data to access oda accounts of de person wey dem hack him data:
    • resetting accounts via e-mail address
    • resetting accounts via biometric data
    • try to hack oda sites using de same password

  • One of de worst aspects go be de possibility of a criminal to collect enough hacked data about a person wey dem go fit take evaluate how profitable wey a robbery go be. Dis go require:
    • de physical address of a victim (obtained from personal document), and
    • information about deir wealth (obtained from deposits/withdrawals on de account from linked crypto addresses, or documents like source of income, source of wealth etc).
Data like dis go fit dey enough to assess a victim for possible robbery. Even if de scammers dey different countries, dem fit sell information about “promising robbery targets” to oda criminals for de home country of de victim.

  • Alternatively, criminals fit collect data and match data with oda hacked data to make am dey valuable for resale.

KYC dey encourage scams

In addition to identity theft, KYC dey offer new revenue of profit for scammers, dis na current rising scam strategy wey dem dey call “KYC scams” dem dey execute like this:

  • Users go deposit crypto on a service wey no dey require KYC.
  • After enough people don make deposit, de site go announce say KYC now dey mandatory and go freeze all funds.
  • De site go blackmail users to perform KYC. If de user no wan do dis, deir crypto don tuwama, de exchange go seize am. If de exchange na scam, additionally dem go get valuable identity documents of deir customers wey dem fit sell or use for demselves.
  • De users no get chance to defend demselves.

Bounties, especially altcoin bounties from shitcoin ICOs, dey use de same strategy. Therefore, e dey very important to dey careful of KYC scams. E dey happen especially with unknown exchanges or shitcoin bounties. E dey recommendable to use only trustworthy, and large exchange wey no go fit afford to lose deir credibility by doing KYC scam.

Under no circumstance make users perform KYC for KYC scammers. Reputable exchanges go always use deir terms and conditions for users to deposit deir money, dem go send KYC implementation notification and users go fit withdraw funds at lower limits. Dis way, users fit get de chance to withdraw deir cryptocurrencies without being scammed.

KYC dey help scammers stay undetected

Scammers dey kpadu KYC because criminals fit take am dey undetected and continue deir illicit activities by using hacked or stolen identities to pass KYC. Wen plenty money dey involve, nothing fit stop dem:

  • Already, e get a big pool of identity sets wey dey available for black market, mostly na oda KYCs wey dey hosted or hacked by scammers. De more complete de data sets be, de more valuable e go dey. To pass KYC, de criminal only need to acquire de relevant data records for black market.
  • Additionally, de scammers fit also organize ICO demselves or set up a scam exchange, come request for KYC dere. Dem fit determine de data wey dem need based on wetin dem intend to do with am later. Dis go make am dey possible for criminals to obtain specific KYC data for a selected ICO or exchanges.

E dey somewhat counter-intuitive, say some "experts' now dey propose to enforce excessive KYC procedure wey crypto service customers must adhere to, wey include de submissions of beta quality scans or more data, including biometric data. Dis line of thinking dey completely wrong because e fit likely endanger de safety of users even more:

  • Biometric data (fingerprint, face or iris scan), dem fit use am for illicit purposes once de hacked data end up for de hands of criminals. De damage to affected persons dey severe as biometric data dey among de most sensitive wen dem disclose am.
  • Improvement for quality of de submitted data only mean say de hackers fit receive even more accurate and more valuable data. De improve level of quality make am easy for criminals to impersonate odas.
  • De way criminals don dey start to reconstruct missing part of data based on existing, stolen KYC records don dey rise. Methods to circumvent video identification, like “deep-fake videos,” don dey rise rapidly. De production of realistic masks, wey go dey very hard to distinguish am from real people, na anoda way to fool identification process. Dem don already present am for 2018 35c3 in Leipzig, from wia dem demonstrate am say dem fit circumvent video identification procedures.

Dis technique fit dey for dier early stage, and de result no dey perfect, but in principle e dey already possible. De prospect of rising profitability wen KYC finally don dey enforce everywhere go dey incentivize scammers to develop fake KYC methods wey go pass dis ones well well.

In principle, na only criminals go dey needed: Dose wey go fit verify accounts with hack data. Dem go fit sell dis service to oda criminals for the darknet, wey alone go make am dey possible to completely undermine KYC process.

Therefore, if dem design KYC to stop criminals from doing dier job, e don fail woefully. KYC data sets for black market fit reach millions, and de number dey increase daily as KYC enforcement dey spread.

With de lastest emerging techniques to use manipulate all online KYC procedures, criminal gangs dey ready to verify accounts and sell dem to oda criminals at a high price on de black market. Alternatively, dem fit hack already-verified accounts and sell dem again.

Therefore, criminals with evil intentions get plenty options to choose from to take circumvent many kinds of KYC practice.

Conclusion: KYC dey useless

De primary result of dis evaluation dey clear: KYC no only dey useless but e dey encourage wetin e suppose prevent. KYC dey create new area of crime (identity trade of real users) and dey increase existing areas of crime (criminals now go fit go undetected by abusing de identities of innocent users). E dey also clearly endanger de privacy and security of all customers.

Therefore, as dem dey take loud de effectiveness of digital KYC for crypto, unfortunately dey only exit in theory. E go dey good if de community acknowledge de fact say KYC no only dey useless, but e dey also dangerous and e dey promote crime. Since dem dey sell KYC documents illegally for de web or person fit fake am with de help of artificial intelligence, KYC no dey prove anything anymore.

Infact, KYC dey encourage scams and crime and e dey endanger de privacy and safety of all customers thru identity theft. E dey create dangerous dynamic for users wey dem force to perform KYC check: criminals don collect plenty personal documents wey go likely go public in de future in a way we neva see before.

How to protect from KYC?

Dey careful and reason am well well wether using de service worth am to risk identity theft, including all of de negative consequences. Also, dey mindful of de address you link for your account in case dem hack am. Wen you link your identity with your Bitcoin/altcoin address, you no go fit undo am if person know how to associate dem.

E dey recommended to use trusted services wey no get KYC like P2P exchanges or you fit trade here for de forum using a trusted escrow.

Avoid KYC for everything else:

  • No use KYC for altcoin/shitcoin bounties or altcoin/shitcoin airdrops where de owners fit be scammers or fit dey incompetent.
  • No use KYC for shitty exchanges where de owners fit be scammers or fit dey incompetent.
  • No use KYC for small amount of money wey no worth de risk (dis include everything wey no fit make you rich).

E dey important to point out de dangers of KYC as a preventative measure. After all, na just a matter of time before major KYC scandal go make de general public to dey aware of how dangerous and useless KYC be. Unfortunately, e go dey too late wen e happen and de damage go don already take place. You dey welcome to link dis text so dat many users (and providers) go dey aware of KYC flaws as possible.

In particular, providers wey dey abuse de security of users to make money go dey aware of deir irresponsible behaviour.

E dey recommended to use provider wey no dey request for KYC information (or wey deir limits dey justified). Dis one no be only to protect ourselves, but also to support providers wey dey protect deir customers.

Final note: I don dey write dis text for a while now, since early 2019. From dat time since I don summarize most of de known facts, e get plenty informative articles on de Internet wey analyze de problems of KYC in details and spell am out.
De points wey I don torchlight so far, you no go only confirm am wen you dey read thru dis articles, but I gat admit say I underestimate de dangers and how useless KYC dey by far for my original version. De technology and de criminal market for KYC don already advance well well as I fear and e go likely dey more lucrative due to de way dem dey increase de enforcement of KYC. Criminals, fraudsters don discover KYC for dier own benefit to take commit crimes (like KYC scam), to conduct identity trades, and at de same time, to continue dier criminal activities in de way wia dem go dey unnoticed as dem go use identities of innocent users. E go dey useful for security, data protection and crime prevention if de public recognize quickly say digital KYC no be solution, but instead na risk wey dey endanger every innocent user.

Keep am for mind:

De digital world no dey simple as many people dey reason am. As an average crypto or internet user, you fit make many mistakes, but just a single wrong move dey enough to cause casala even wen everything dey perfect.
Scammers dey intelligent, and dem dey hide traces of dier activity and dey take advantage of misconceptions. One of de misconceptions na KYC for centralized services, wey dey easy to attack and bypass. If we, de average users no care about our privacy, no educate ourselves or no claim our right of protection from criminals on de web, we fit enter casala very quickly. Privacy mean protection from scammers and na something valuable wey all of us dey entitled to. Privacy no be crime, na our protection on de web against criminals and na personal right wey we suppose try to secure every time.

Make you feel free to share dis article or translate am for your local board (you fit reserve a translation wen you send a PM to avoid double translations). E get many misinformation wey dey go on about KYC, but if people look into de details, e go fit help prevent many crimes and scams.

Dis one na more interesting articles wey torchlight de dangers of KYC:

I disagree the part you say kyc is useless and dangerous, kyc can be dangerous to a person where by the engage is scam or fraudulent activity and the kyc it’s useful to protect account from identity theif and all that.

44  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: New year's Goals. on: March 31, 2024, 08:29:56 AM
In as much as many of us has heard of new years resolution, we know even if we partake, we sometimes don't achieve them or go half way or loose the zeal by either February or March( for the very disciplined people).

This post is to first of all say Happy New Year to all the members of the Naija Board, welcome to 2024, and secondly to motivate each and every one of us to achieve that which we couldn't last year or a new goal we've set for ourselves this year.

Research shows that when people talk about their goals or things they want to attain and achieve to other people, they get motivated to really achieve those goals. Cause it's like, " I have to finish what I've started. This person/ people must not see me as a failure" and it also gives a sense of support from that person/ those people. So, feel free to talk about whatever goal you have for 2024, and have it at the back of your mind that the members of the forum( even though you don't know most of them) would be rooting out for you.

As for me, in 2024, I have lots of goals to achieve, but they can all be linked to one thing, FREEDOM. In 2024, I want my freedom. Freedom from where I am right now, the people around me right now, the situation i'm in right now, and in order to attain that there are about 5 different goals I need to achieve.

This was actually my goal for 2023 cause I finally reached the age I saw myself as independent, but I couldn't achieve it. Now, I have another year and chance to get what I want and I'm not going to blow it, neither should you. My motto this year is consistency, because whatever you consistently put your mind to do, you would excell in and achieve.

Feel free to write down what you want to achieve this year in the comment section, and as you do so don't forget, we'll all be waiting for your success story.

Thank you, and Happy New Year.
My new year goals
Don’t complain
Don’t explain
Just believe for me.

46  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If bitcoin is not decentralized currency what would have happen to bitcoin on: March 31, 2024, 08:26:03 AM
The problem government gives bitcoin every day by day is it same thing government give all this fiat exchangers, that means if bitcoin have not fall to the category of decentralization that means by now bitcoin won't have exist again, the decentralized bitcoin is today is what that keeps bitcoin and its what makes bitcoin to exist more and more from my understanding...do you know that the reason why some of the mixes is being ban in the forum is not that they committed much crime but government is against them because they are against bitcoin, so if bitcoin wasn't in decentralized form they would have rubbished bitcoin by now.
If to say bitcoin was not decentralized,it will be centralized have governmental control, loss of trust , loss of innovation, loss of privacy, market instability and vulnerabilities to manipulation

When a law is given in a country, nobody suppose dey above am no mata what. As the world d so, the law wey the government of a country d implement for their country, d people wey em d affect most na the poor citizens. Why I d talk so na because in Saudi Arabia it is forbidden for couples wey never marry to live together no matter what. But em reach C. Ronaldo turn based on sae na GOAT, em wan come play football for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia don bend their marriage law because of am. That means sae them they accept make C. Ronaldo and his girl friend (Rodriguez) live together be that. Despite knowing fully well sae em never marry am

Only this new incident wey happen for Saudi Arabia alone, don make me to fully understand the reason why peso need to be relevant for the world or for em own country.

Abegy in all of this, make we try make up your mind to be relevant for the world or for our own country at least. E get why

48  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: We should control our tongue at all time. on: March 29, 2024, 06:01:56 PM
I was traveling from Port Harcourt to Bayelsa state yesterday afternoon, we go to a police check point and it was the Federal Sars men that stopped us. While they were doing their lawful duty of searching the vehicle and the passengers in it, a girl that was sitting behind me made a comment and the officer that was conducting the search heard her loud and clear. She said '' You people are just wasting our time, if it were the bad boys terrorizing the region you people won't stop them''. The Sars man got angry and asked the girl to come down from the vehicle, the girl came down and she was taken into their custody for further questioning about her comment. The officer asked the driver to carry the rest of the passenger and continue with the journey. Some passengers pleaded with the officer to let the girl go but they refused, they said the girl must show them evidence where she saw them not stopping bad boys. They accused the girl of working with bad boys. The girl was detained while we continued with our journey.
The girl wouldn't have found herself in that situation if she had kept quiet without saying a word.
we should learn how to control our tongue at all time. Don't say unguided words when in public place.
Don't say anything when your opinion is not sought after in a public place because you don't know who is who.
I feel like sharing this so that we can avoid some unnecessary problems in our lives.
At all cost you should try to control and good communication skills when talking to people, most especially the a force agent which is on duty.you should know how to control your communication and tunes of words, sometimes you need to allow them to do there duty since you are at there post.but I have watch videos where boys drives and speeds to pass Chechnya point without been check by force man on duty. So when I see some officer been aggressive to the youth or some driver I don’t complain about it because.there have seen a lot of that l.
49  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Importance of Self-Confidence and how to Improve on: March 29, 2024, 05:44:09 PM
SELF-CONFIDENCE can be explained as a personal view of your skills and abilities, One must know their strengths and weaknesses to trust and have control over themselves, Be able to have a positive view of yourself set realistic goals aim to achieve them and when time comes for criticism you should be able to take them as they come and work on yourself to be able to learn and grow.

These are a few ways to build Self-Confidence
1. Study yourself know your strengths and weaknesses this will help you build your artillery
2. Always say positive things to yourself even when things are negative try to find the positive side
3. Avoid comparing yourself with others it only makes you doubt yourself
4. Set small goals and try to achieve them immediately
5. Find a good role model to emulate and learn from it can be anybody age shouldn't be a barrier
6. Practice living in the present as no one knows tomorrow work on the now and leave tomorrow to the unknown

SELF-CONFIDENCE is a very important component of our everyday life makes us be ourselves no matter where we find ourselves, It can make us or break us the benefits of self-confidence are too numerous to put together as a Man or Woman in this modern age I can't stress the importance of this enough but it goes a long way on how people see us as the world is changing everyday we should also be able to learn from ourselves and improve for example there are some of us here that have very good contributions to share on this forum but choose to be quiet not because they can't read and write but due to lack of confidence we need to look inwards and find what makes us tick to get the best version of ourselves to be more productive and efficient in everything we do.
To improve in yourself you need to always see your self first in everything you do.positive self image about yourself always , resilience, motivation and effective communication.
50  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Opay SCAM...Beware!!! on: March 29, 2024, 05:34:00 PM
I say make I bring una the latest information wey I just get on how scammers don dey use decieve people wey dey use Opay online banking app, to give them the access to fit thief your money from your Opay account. I know say most of us here, na this online banks them like Opay, Palmpay and Kudda, na them we dey use pass, because of quick and fast payments method wey them get. The scammers are claiming to be from Opay and they dropped a picture which they will tell you to use your Opay account and scan the QR code in the picture, so that they can have access to your funds. The funny thing is that they even dropped a link and said that you should click on the link. So let's beware of such message and delete immediately. Also share this with any of your family, relatives and friends that are using Opay, because they might not know it is a scam.

As day goes by scammer try to improvise or create a new way to scam people of the money. So we should little about the kind of message and information we give out regarding your online banking details.juts imagine been called on the phone regarding your banking details which you did not input for and receiving calls or message for verification.you should avoid those types of stuff a lot.
51  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Who is an educated Person? on: March 29, 2024, 05:29:15 PM
Well according to the advanced learners dictionary, it describes an educated person as someone who has a very high standard of learning, while the Oxford dictionary states  that an educated person is someone that have been to a school, be it primary, secondary or tertiary, we all know that education plays an important role in the forum, cause one ought to know how to read and write properly to be able to participate in the activities going on here.

However in my understanding asides from knowing how to read and write, which describes someone educated, i think an educated person can also be described as someone that can set defenses around themselves against the world, most of us here come from or lives in areas that's insecured. Therefore based on their intelligence they should be able to strategize how to protect themselves and keep themselves from getting into danger, an illiterate might be physically strong  but might lack the basic understanding of how to survive, but it takes someone educated to study their surroundings and figure out how to safeguard themselves from being harmed. The insecurity in our country is getting out of hand, and in this new year we all need to be very strategic on how to survive. Everyone needs to be on guard, cause that's part of what makes us educated.

Omo,everyone has is way of describe it but for me you must have a critical thinking skills , communication skills, problem solving ability, ethical and moral integrity and cultural awareness.
52  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why you need patience to invest in cryptocurrency on: March 29, 2024, 05:17:28 PM
Compliments of the season to everyone. Why It's good to be patient while investing in anything like cryptocurrency. About four years ago, my brother introduced the family to Pi, a new cryptocurrency that you can mine on your phone for free. He told us all we needed to know about it. Some of us were skeptical, while others ensured they mined every day, and some just ignored it. Over the years, some gave up along the way and never bothered to invite others or even continue mining.

Just three days ago, someone my sis knows contacted her that she wants to buy Pi at the rate of 300. My sister, who had been mining but gave up, and never believed in it again decided to sell hers. I tried convincing her that it's not a good idea to sell now because by 2025 when it will be launched, it will be worth more than what the person is offering. My sis  wasn't convinced and sold hers for about 98k. She was so happy because she didn't believe the Pi she had been mining for years would yield something. Now everyone in the family is interested in mining now, because them don see small money my sister made from it😃

The point of this story is that many people have been introduced to various investment platforms but didn't have the patience to continue because they wanted to see profits as fast as possible. I'm happy because my sis, despite selling all her Pi, now realizes it's real and this will motivate her to keep mining. The person who bought her Pi is investing in her future because she understands its potential value when fully launched.
This is why it's good to buy as much Bitcoin during its bear run or bear market and not succumb to fear and sell them off. Cryptocurrency investments require patience.
Cryptocurrency investment is not fast making money sometimes, you need to exercise patience because it’s volatile in nature, lack of regulation, it’s speculative nature, technological innovations and market manipulation.

E get one of my brother wey just start to dey drink recently so I ask am say why all of a sudden he won turn himself to a drunkard, he say na because say him dey depressed.
What to do when you are depressed or worried about something

1: seek Help: There is a popular saying that goes like this"a closed mouth is a closed destiny" Talk to someone you trust, it could be a family member, friend or even a therapist to help guide you. Talking to someone go help relieve some worries you were having and solution can come from there .

2: Get yourself busy with what you love doing. If it is exercise, watching a movie, Listening to music, reading books, or even cooking. This will take your mind off that worries and you won't endanger yourself in the process.

3: Eat better food: if you no eat because you are worried, e go add more to the depression you are already experiencing which will mess with you mental health and affect your overall well being.

4: Reflect on your little achievement and small wins in life; this will bring a little joy to you at that moment

5: Avoid Alcohol and Drug, this one go worsen your case because if you come get addicted to them, it will hard for you to get out of it and that's like double wahala for you.

6: Even in your worries, try get better sleep, e go help your mood and also your mental health.

7: Learn how to meditate: meditation is simply having a deep thought. You can meditate on the word of God or any thing you believe in.

I know it's not easy to do any of these when one is facing difficulty but you will still have to help yourself to get out of that situation and hopefully this helps. What do you do when you are depressed?
There are a lot of things a today for me for instance reach out for support, engage in activities which will take your time to forget about worries and establish self routine.
54  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The time to invest what you can afford to lose on: March 29, 2024, 05:07:14 PM
This a time everyone want to invest  because we are heading into the bull market which is just around the corner.  This is the time one needs to think very well and make good decisions while investing now. This is the time we really need to apply the formula of investing only what you can afford to lose, this is not a time to just consider profit and invest huge amount of Bitcoin. Before now much accumulating of bitcoin is supposed to have been done then when the price of bitcoin was very low, but many missed it because of waiting for bitcoin price to still go down low more and many other reason and they are so eager and desperate to invest bitcoin because of the bull market. I know the price of bitcoin will get increase more than what it is but people need not invest for selfish  interests and do what they can not afford to lose.

In the past bull some people observed the market and noticed the price was increasing and it triggered them to enter the market unknownly to them that was the end of the bull market which the price of bitcoin started dropping down.
Before investing in bitcoin you need to have diversification of income to be able to sustain you.and during investing you need to do background check on the investments before investing so you should be able to invest what you can loose and not putting all your hope in one basket.

nobody no tomorrow even juju man Dy die.
Diz tin don dy bother me. Judging from the way our traditional bank Dy behave. One time like that I bin hear about one bank manager wey go withdraw money from customers account when en notice say the owners of the account dem don die, maybe the accounts dem don Dy dormant for so many years and e try to reach the customers but discover say dem no Dy alive again.
E get some family wey their fada get beta money for account but en no tell anybody till e die suddenly. Now the family go Dy suffer but their fada money Dy bank but dem no know.
My point na this our bitcoin wey many of us carry beta money buy as investment. Imagine say me wey get investment no come Dy again, na so my investment go just lost like that? I Dy reason weda we supposed inform person from our family wey we trust so that incase we no Dy again the person go fit get access to our investment make the money no lost like that.
How Una see this mata?
This things Dy happen live.
Nobody know tomorrow is taughful something because as human we need to enjoy everything moment with our love one and sharing some vital information with them must be a person worth accountable and worth it to be able to achieve this.

58  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What should Nigerian’s do to hold corruption politicians accountable? on: March 28, 2024, 01:19:13 PM
Have looked at it in my own way. That Nigerian’s can actually hold corruption politicians accountable by not taking bribe.if only we can walk with our conscience and think more of how we can make the country better. Most of the things we are experiencing would not be happening today. It is clearly seen that we forget our sufferings easily when ever it comes to the general elections. We go all out for this same people whose children are not even in the country. We do all sort’s of things for them to get into that position. After with everything we do for them, they would still forget about the masses and do what is in their mind. I sincerely think holding corrupt politicians is not the first step. The first step starts with us as Nigerians.to do the right things!!
When you talk about corruption,to be able to manage corruption you need to have a system of check and balance.when there’s a check and balance in the government it will help reduce the excessive corruption in the country
59  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Make una dey careful with online dating apps on: March 28, 2024, 01:11:35 PM
Online dating apps have been on the increase this days as people more especially men and women tends to meet one another through this dating apps but it is important to note the dangers that are involved in meeting someone for the very first time in your life as most people now use through this medium to commit various crimes to humanity.

We should also be careful of how we relate sensitive information to people we meet online, don't try to impress anyone by telling them what you are into or the kind of job you do until you've met them and possibly spent some time with them before you can relate some personal information about yourself. Don't try to impress people you meet online just because you want them to like you and bring their interest to you because by so doing, you might be endangering your life, your business or your money.

And moreover, we should be cautious and careful of people we meet online when you peradventure meet them facially as you need to observe them very well and always be careful about your drinks or your food while they're around you.

I say make I bring this advice come here because e get some of us here wey be say as soon as small money enter their account, na so body go dey sweet them to chat girls up online dey promise them heaven and earth or say you be Dangote pickin so that them go fall for you. Note that as you dey try to impress Dem you may actually be exposing yourself to the evil ones in our society. Abeg advice no be curse!

Make una watch this video of a USA citizen wey meet woman online then they come meet him carry am go him apartment for Bogota a city in Colombia, na so the girl drug am also rob am of his money even collect his passport join.
https://edition.cnn.com/2024/01/21/world/colombia-dating-app-warning-deaths-intl-latam/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=whatsappCNN&utm_content=2024-01-25T19:33:07

Any thing that have merit also have demerit. For me online dating is not bad but when communicating with someone online you need to carefull the kind of information you give some one you meet online, such as source of income and more.

https://dailypost.ng/2024/02/02/price-hike-looms-in-nigeria-as-cbn-increases-customs-exchange-rate/

The CBN just increased the exchange rate to reduce importation.  This would definitely have a major effect in prices of goods. Prices of many goods are already on the rise and in this trying times.  The CBN believes that increasing exchange rate and reducing Importation would help.
When they aware we very dependent on foreign goods
What are your thoughts on their decision?

Side note : https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/business-news/664442-facing-fx-crisis-nigerias-central-bank-lifts-exchange-rate-restrictions-for-imtos.html&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjHjufkrY2EAxUiQ0EAHf4NB7cQxfQBegQIABAC&usg=AOvVaw0Eama790a_rLU7n6dJXGwV. This is kinda confusing to me
What role does lifting restrictions has on the failing naira.
For the cbn to regulate the naira currency the need to try to improve on the GDP of the economy and avoid inflation in the country and thus can help build the naira and creating a market price of goods and services in the country.creating a fix price on the dollars and not increase in dollar base on demand or the inflation of the country.
