I say make I bring una the latest information wey I just get on how scammers don dey use decieve people wey dey use Opay online banking app, to give them the access to fit thief your money from your Opay account. I know say most of us here, na this online banks them like Opay, Palmpay and Kudda, na them we dey use pass, because of quick and fast payments method wey them get. The scammers are claiming to be from Opay and they dropped a picture which they will tell you to use your Opay account and scan the QR code in the picture, so that they can have access to your funds. The funny thing is that they even dropped a link and said that you should click on the link. So let's beware of such message and delete immediately. Also share this with any of your family, relatives and friends that are using Opay, because they might not know it is a scam.

Good information, I think many people will be very careful the kind of money they are saving in their OPay account so that they will not regret when something strange happen to their money.

I know many people are using OPay for the good network that their customers are enjoying from them because, I noticed something from many big organization these days and they prefer using OPay for payment in their organization and transfer the money into their normal bank account which it will be difficult  for such people to experience scam like those who live their money on OPay like 6 or 7 years without touching the money.

Scammers are coming up with new updates to make sure they scam money from people. We should always read the details of transactions to know if we are the ones who initiated them before authorizing them. We can also save money that we will use to run our daily activities on Opay so that we will not lose much if our Opay account is compromised.

Absolutely correct.
I will just add a little bit of advice to those that are not really smart enough to use the Internet.
However one can install the truecaller app on his or her phones because the truecaller app helps to block spam and fraudulent messages, mostly messages that are not send directly from the originally source.

I for hide those contacts but I no hide am so that incase of anyone here received messages from them they can easily dictate that they are scam.
One thing way me I know be say banks and other legit things way person dey do no go every call them or send them messages way their pin go dey involve rather them go tell them say make them come bank come rectify some errors, if only error dey.
So my conclusions fir this matter be say make we always dey very careful and smart to dictate fraud calls and messages.

Opay is not the one scamming here, the people are the ones under disguise as opay to take advantage in others and scam them, they begin by impersonation, cloning before then proceed directly to the scam in proper, scanning the QR code is a perfect and complete way of handling over ones opay account to the scammers the bank have a limit to what they can request from us to do, but some of us don't know what the scammers are upto when requesting us on a particular thing to do.

The way this guys are actually advancing with their scamming activities, it's a high call for everyone to be very conscious and adapt with the advancements of technology so as not to fall victim. If we can't be wiser than them, their are chances of becoming a victim and I believe most people must have fallen victims, how smart and constructive with the scam messages sounding like Opay themselves condemning scammers while they be the real scammers.

Only those that are impatient to read messages that could fall victim even as that i don't think a deaf will go scan and authorized payment to someone you don't know it is very crazy and no one should do that with any reason, in fact the scammers always have targeted people that they can only send that  messages to because for me who knows most of their tricks can never fall for anything.

Na wetin make we supposed dey alert with dey way dem dey behave and most times e go be say na our busy body dey land us into problems because wetin we no sabi we go think we know am from there dem go hit us we go dey cry say dem don scam us.

Me know say people wey dey around here dey hard scam because only here alone na school of it's own where e go dey hard to just come send any kind of phishing email to scam users from here, na only market women dem fit scam so easily because boys wey sabi wetin dem sabi no fit jones here.

Funny how you say this because you would be surprised the kind of scam people actually fall for, like you said you can never fall for this but I believe inside the 200+ millions of Nigerians out their I can bet someone can be so naive to actually fall victim. Scammers are ever ready and they always look for alternative to execute their scam and like you said maybe they have another feature to this scam that can make it look real enough for some crazy folks to actually fall for this. You know they say curiousity can do lots of things and many people do shit just to fulfill their curios thought.

Reading through the message wey you got from people wey disguise themselves as Opay d make me laugh of how scammers d advice people of not to fall victim of scams, wey be sae na them be the main scammers wey people d avoid.

Now and then, scammers d map out different strategy of how d go dupe people of their hard-earned funds, wey now make am for every one of us to be careful of the kind things wey they click to even na from an authorized sector or not.

This pix we you share don make me know more sae, scammers go fit now pose themselves as a known authorized sector to send messages give numerous people just to defraud people wey go fall victim to their trap.

Opay always warn users to steer clear from any third party information. Opay or any other will not ask you any your login information.  And not all the messages that you received are from scammers. You are to detect the real messages from the scammers messages. I also got a notification from Opay today and the message I got is directly from Opay and not from any third party. Look at the information I got from notification.

And from my own observation this above information is not fake and it is from Opay Microfinance bank. So one of the capability of a user of all these banks is the ability to know which of the message is fake and which one is legit. Therefore op if the message is from Opay then it is legit and if it is a phone number then it fake and Opay will never ask you to scam or click link unless you are making some security stuff in the app and not another source. Be careful and stay safe. Scammers are real.

Thanks for the info. Tho, I've not experienced anything like that recently. Plus as the owner of your account, you'd have to authorize for any transaction to happen.

The title of this thread may be misleading, because you caption opay scam as if they are the one that is scamming people directly and for sure we are aware of this type of scam attempts, but then also I haven't come across this format before so it new to me, but technically I can't fall for this type of cheap scam attempts because with that I have to give access for my money to be transferred from the account.

But then also, is good thing that you brought this here and for sure this is going to help alot of us, to get info on the new format being used by scammers in recent times, once a while we all need to update ourselves on things liythis because the digital banking market place is getting bigger and more riskier than before.

All this scammer just dey upgrade day by day, they see say by calling the Opay users no dey work again, they changed to scan the QR Code. This information wey you share so e dey very helpful, even the last time wey them dey call people, telling them they are customers care from opay many people get scammed, because they are not aware of those scammers before, this scan of QR code person fit fall under them no matter how person take wise. Naija sef things dey really happen my brothers base on say everybody want chop na why all this scammers take change their patterns so!, there own way na to scam people they don't know another way to take chop.

We need to they very careful of this scammer, because na all this online banking we take dey use this days since their transaction no dey delay like other banks, some of us cannot even remember the last time wey we use other banks, if no be this online banking, we said naija no dey save, so even our money wey dey bank account no save too.

As day goes by scammer try to improvise or create a new way to scam people of the money. So we should little about the kind of message and information we give out regarding your online banking details.juts imagine been called on the phone regarding your banking details which you did not input for and receiving calls or message for verification.you should avoid those types of stuff a lot.

Omo no be lie oo, the title really confuse me well well and the reason why I say so na because only a few days back the whole opay network was disturbing and this thing that happened made people think many things that opay is a scam and they shouldn't keep their money in opay so when I saw this post or thread of urs , I actually then taught that the yesterday network on Opay is deliberate to actually scam users but I guess it's just a normal thing.

I was even afraid of what happened to Op network fow the few two days because I was in the POS office and was about to transfer money to the POS sake girl and I the message I got was like I have been hacked or what? And the way scammers are looking for all the ways to scam people is getting out of hand. And the scam is not only in Opay but also in another Banks and I what you have to do is to be careful and be smart about your assets so that even though you get the Scammers message you will know what time did. Experience is the best me I don enter well well so I know all their tricks.
