Yes, this is the reason why.
See the criminals, affecting all of us Exchanges, do not give a F*ck about the BTC community, exchanges etc.
It's pure profit, and that's all they're out to do, and they are destroying good business's in their doings.
We are lucky to have the fraud prevention etc, but this is also why it does require client information etc, and KYC, AML and everything to operate properly which people do not understand.
Our loss was tiny, however if our protection systems had not been in place, the loss would have been huge. This is why the underlying banking system structure for all exchanges are so important.

Just seeing how you are going. The banking issues, were they to do with charge backs?
IE Someone hacks someones bank account, sends across X amount of Dollars, it goes into the exchange.
The hacker then buys BTC, withdraws them, next the exchange bank account holder gets a letter saying to repay X amount of Dollars due to a non authorised transaction.
Is this the issues you are facing Andre? then the bank will not deal with you again because of the "Risk".
It seems to me that this would be the issue is, damn scammers depositing money via hacked bank accounts, then charge backs causing you these problems.
We have also had our fair share of this also, and have had to put in tighter measures and protection, people do not understand the difficult and challenges of running an exchange, when you have people constantly out trying to rip you off with these hacked bank account deposits.
This is why our banking system requires information from the client, because of these issues and risks.
Good luck, and I hope everything is ok for you, feel free to contact us any time. I would suspect, the same group who also got away with the same with us, only for a small amount before our fraud detection kicked in and prevented the rest.

Hi,
Work is still in progress, yes the engine is being entirely replaced, along with many other things for future growth.
we expect the trade engine to be finalised within the next 12 Hours now and operating very smoothly, we will of course keep fine tuning this.
Once the trade engine replacement is complete, we have another 3 or 4 updates rolling out, our new fee structure, ticket support system, User Interface Upgrade and also Websocket API.
There are of course more features and functionality also being added but these are the priority roll outs.
We will announce on our site and on this forum also as soon as the new trade engine is in and working so that everyone can give it a hammering.

We have a new Trade Engine launching Monday, which the entire team has been busy with and also a new trading pricing structure which was due to be released last week however issues with our current trade engine had prevented that.

Hi, there is work in progress at the moment.
We have a new trade engine being released within the next 24-30 Hours, this will totally replace the existing engine and speed issues.
There may have been some Paused trading stages, which would make the orders not match due to the engine being paused.

It shows USD has been transferred to cryptoxchange by bitinstant from tradehill, but i go into my cryptoxchange account, there is no USD inside
is it normal? or i have to wait a few days for it to work?

BillGalaxy just now, around February 23, 2012, 09:00:38 PM i saw $5 volume 2000 ask, $5.01 volume 500 ask on Cryptoxchange's ask order list. so i deposited 15k usd, and made 2 orders of 2k btcs at $5 and 500 btcs at $5.01. 5 minutes passed, nothing has been processed, after about 7 minutes, the price was suddenly just gone off the order list, i bought nothing at last. Crypto X Change Reply:BillGalaxy, your figures are incorrect, your orders have been matched. We resepct your privacy and can release the data with your permission. Your USD deposit amount is incorrect. Both the orders you have placed were matched partially with corresponding sell orders. So saying you end up buying nothing is totally wrong.BillGalaxy However, now, i am very disappointed, and i changed my mind. i highly doubt this is a scam skill to cheat people's money deposit on their site. or they bought/kept all good deals themselves under table. as black case work. they intentionally make this delay or let it be there when the timing comes. The exchange is reasonably new so I'm giving them a chance. Yes it is very annoying, and yes I've lost out on many deals due to their trading engine doing all of the strange things you mentioned.
On the one hand they're usually quick to reassure customers that they are working on it, and judging from the number of changes recently, they do seem to be working away.
I am however surprised at how long its taken them to sort out their trading engine as its absolutely essential that it works flawlessly. They are after all in the business of matching trades and they don't seem to be able to get the very basics of it right!? (well occasionally, but not consistently)
Intersango and WBX run off open source code and their trading engine is fast, solid and pretty flawless. I've not been a member of this forum for long but haven't seen complaints from their engine.

Update: It seems I have 58 coins stuck in my account that couldn't be transferred. A second attempt said "Insufficient funds".

All paper work has been submitted for the lift requirement and we have been chasing this, but still awaiting a reply. Dude if you had half a brain and were capable of reading you'd see that this is for AML compliance. And this supposedly anon site is a fully registered private Australian company.

I read the thing I quoted above, saying "we need this info". Any explanation about this "AML" thing? None whatsoever. What am I supposed to do, go look up what country Crypto is based in (if I didn't go out of my way to look through all the intro videos and such, and didn't already know it was based in Australia), and research banking laws there to figure out why they want it? No. This information should be UP FRONT on the website FOR USER CONFIDENCE. You won't have any issues with trades now, just at the moment it is lagging because of so many checks per trade, this is only going to be for a very short time as we want to have this absolutely 100% for the future and lightening fast. We are currently working on all suggestions, and also perfecting our trade engine due to increased trading bot activity.
We appreciate all of the feedback, and have started already building these into the exchange, pending testing and updating the Exchange.
There is a new Fee structure coming out in the next week after our 0% Trade Fee period has finished, which we have a solution that meets everyone's requirements.
More staff have been added due to the increase in our customer base, we appologise for any inconveniences over the weekend with our trade engine, there had been some issues which we are debugging and solving now and this will be lightening fast within the next few days.
All Ex Trade Hill clients moving funds across via BitInstant will be credited $5.00 USD to their account, which should be available very soon once BitInstant announce the availability to Withdraw to other Exchanges.
