41  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Much Should You Invest in Bitcoin? on: May 17, 2018, 06:54:09 PM
If you have regular income, then you can afford to invest more, say 50% of your savings. If you don't have regular salary, then this is more risky because you need more savings for unpredictable situations like getting seriously ill or other accidents.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Staying away from Bitcoin for 5 years on: May 17, 2018, 06:12:56 PM
Why do people give up easily? If you are not going rto support bitcoin in its ups and downs, then yes, leave. Going down to $6500 is not a big deal. And no, it is not going to go down to $400. People still believe in bitcoin's potential and I believe that the price will still continue to grow. In 5 years, I believe it will reach $50k. Think about it, the price is always growing, and even if it decreases, it will rise again just like what always happens
Because they wanted to make quick buck and then use their pleb fiat money for shopping. Pathetic. Such people who don't understand that bitcoin is not just about making profit, don't deserve it and we should let them sell.

Yes, it says Stake your Bitcoin address but I think there is no thread for staking Ethereum address so I will still quote your signed message. Maybe we should start new thread for people who prefer signing messages with ETH address.
I also verified message: https://etherscan.io/verifySig/1144 (There is space in the middle of your "sig" but I figured it shouldn't be there so after I deleted it, message got verified.)
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP][LIVE] TYDO AIRDROP EVENT COME AND JOIN US!!! on: May 16, 2018, 04:35:59 PM
I instantly got an idea how I could use your platform. Recently I had a problem that one exchange doesn't offer Stop-Limit orders and this was the only exchange that had my altcoin listed. If I understand correctly, I could download API file from that exchange, import it to Tydo and open Stop-Limit order on Tydo. When the Stop price would be reached, Tydo would open Limit order on that exchange.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] QuickX Protocol — quickest cross blockchain transactions on: May 16, 2018, 12:14:42 PM
Crypto debit card caught my eye. Testing of QuickX debit card is mentioned in roadmap dated January 2018 - how did that go?
Are you in talks with any of major (debit) card providers like MasterCard or Visa?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔵 VAULT TOKENS 🔵 Truly Smart Contracts - 570k USD raised so far on: May 16, 2018, 11:35:50 AM
Are you going to employ lawyers and smart-contract developers or they will work as freelancers?
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if we buy bitcoins now all TOGETHER?! on: May 16, 2018, 10:21:27 AM
It's a good idea though, although it is impossible. If a mass of people buys bitcoin, the price will be affected. There will be a sudden rise of price, we all know that if there's a huge demand on a product, there will be a raise of price, basic economics. Now that bitcoin drops around 8,000$, I think that the main reason behind the sudden drop of price of bitcoin is the banning of bitcoin from other countries and also the drop the number of users who use bitcoin.
Price would rise in this scenario, but the question is if that would be realistic, sustainable growth. The answer is no. This would be just a massive pump (which is usually followed by dump).

Please remove the rule of 5 posts per week in this thread because this is against the rules as @apoorvlathey said. You can say that posts in this thread are appreciated.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone attending an event in NYC blockchain this week? on: May 15, 2018, 10:34:07 PM

50  Economy / Economics / Re: What if Zuckerberg paid us a share of FB advertising revenue? on: May 15, 2018, 09:31:20 PM
there is no need for him to pay us money. if he didn't do this earlier there is no need for him to do this right now.
Except if Facebook gets competition. Facebook is no rocket science and someone could simply make a similar platform that shares half of profit to users and maybe people would move from Facebook. There were some ICOs about social networks, I remember one called Sociall. Maybe they can grab this idea. I know there are expanses, you need servers, lots of data storage for all photos and videos, money for programmers, staff. But apparently Facebook still makes much more from ads than they spend for expanses. So why not sharing this with users.
51  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-15] ICO is still booming: what we need to understand on: May 15, 2018, 08:59:16 PM
There is this bad stigma attached to ICOs because of many scam or low quality unrealistic ICOs. But if investors check those factors mentioned in this article, then there is nothing to be afraid of. Just look how many tokens from ICOs are there in the top 100 list on coinmarketcap - approximately half of them are tokens from ICOs, which means there are a lot of legit projects.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency/altcoins or token? on: May 13, 2018, 11:34:49 PM
I am constantly looking to buy new altcoins and tokens as well. For tokens I am looking at their use case, whitepaper, team behind the project. For altcoins I mostly decide based on technical properties of altcoin and innovative features like stealth addresses and anonymous transactions.
53  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Using Bitcoin and altcoins when under 18 on: May 13, 2018, 11:11:10 PM
I remember when i was 17 years old i only sell my token in etherdelta or forkdelta,so dont think that this is the end of your life in crypto,be patience and when youbare already in 18 years old you can now enter to the world of trading.
This is an option, but there are also way of selling BTC for fiat even if you are under 18. You can exchange altcoins to BTC on exchanges that don't have fiat pairs (those usually don't require ID scan and birthday) and then withdraw BTC to your wallet (Electrum or Android wallet like Coinomi). You can then sell bitcoins on bitcoin ATM if there is one near you, on localbitcoins or here on forum in exchange for paypal or Western Union (trade with trusted users only!)
54  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized Crypto Lending for Interest on: May 13, 2018, 10:35:36 PM
Basic principle of lending (money) is that the one who borrows money needs to provide collateral to the one who lends money. I can't really imagine that in a decentralized way. You need some kind of authority which will take the collateral from borrower (with force if needed) and give it to lender.
55  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange to invest for the long terms, on: May 13, 2018, 09:51:24 PM
binance I think it's great for long-term investment market because binance is the biggest number 1 market and should have a very good security system.

The thing is that basically all exchanges are secure till proven otherwise, and as you probably can figure out yourself, no one wants to be proven otherwise with funds sitting in that specific exchange. In other words, we have to ask ourselves what secure actually means, and in what aspects an exchange is secure. Binance is more or less still a newbie in crypto land, so it's just a matter of time before something happens on their side that will shock the market. Don't forget that with their size, even a relatively smaller loss of coins (per ratio to their total holdings) will be huge in reality. Huge enough to shake up the market significantly....
I agree. Just because they are the most popular one and has largest volume, this tell nothing about their security measures. If one plans to store larger amounts of coins on exchange, then you should make investigation how much of their assets an exchange has in cold storage and how much in hot wallets.
56  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-12] Millennials Are Buying Cryptocurrencies to Save For Retirement on: May 13, 2018, 09:26:53 PM
Millennials Are Buying Cryptocurrencies to Save For Retirement

Among millennials, the cryptocurrencies investment trend is gaining momentum for retirement purposes. Moreover, as tech-savvy millennials are shunning traditional banking methods, innovative startups are creating new retirement solutions powered by blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies.

http://bitcoinist.com/millennials-are-buying-cryptocurrencies-to-save-for-retirement/
I can relate to this in my school it is pretty evident that more and more young people are getting into investing not only into stocks but also into the new cryptocurrency market. It must be due to them becoming self-aware on the realities in life that school loans are big, being unemployed is a possibility, and in general money is not easy to be earned. But most of these millennials always think of putting their money into something without the patience and plan to come with, most of them even start buying cryptocurrencies first before even learning how to trade, some of the hodlers even cut their losses on the first sight of red in their portfolio.

This is one of the bad things for tech-savy millennials they will believe everything they will see in the internet, that is how they have started investing in cryptocurrencies but this could also be their end. A lot of them will join Facebook groups and telegram channels believing that every buy recommendation is true without even confirming with themselves because they don't have that ability to do so.
Most beginners made mistakes when they started and it's nothing different with millennials. Luckily most people are smart enough to begin with small amounts, money they can afford to lose so they will probably not invest all money from school loan. I know stories from my friends, some of them are students, and I was laughing when they were telling me which altcoins they bought and why. But they are all in profit now, despite bear market. You learn by doing.
57  Other / Meta / Re: ICO thread needed on: May 13, 2018, 08:18:20 PM
Do you mean thread or board? Special board for ICOs already exists - it's called Tokens (Altcoins) and most ANNs there are ICOs and a few non-ICO tokens as well (airdrop only tokens etc.)
If you mean thread for ICOs, then you can make it yourself if you want. Do you mean like a list of all ICOs, some basic info about them and trust rating (from trusted to SCAM)? But that is not a job for moderators.
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was the $price of [btc] on the day of your joining BitCoinTalk? on: May 13, 2018, 07:53:43 PM
Those were completely different times, back in 2011. I had no one to talk about bitcoin in RL so forum was vital for me. I mostly read at the beginning.
Anyway, bitcoin price was fluctuating from $4.82 to $5.03 on the day I joined forum - September 27, 2011.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HOPECOIN - Charitable ICO Campaign [BOUNTY] Hopecoin.Net on: May 13, 2018, 07:18:51 PM
There is information in roadmap that pre-sale starts in June and crowdsale in July, but here you say that you already have 1000 ICO participants??

Wow, so many people send 0.01 ETH to receive 200,000 GTT
Approximately 49 people sent 0.01 ETH so far. Average airdrop has 100s of participants in first day.
