I don't mind using escrow provided we can agree on who to use/fair price. I also don't mind shipping to europe provided you are in a bitcoin friendly county - i worry a little about greedy customs agents but not too much.

I bought this coin back in december of 2011 and immediately put it in a plastic case where it has been ever since. It is still funded and in really good shape. Note: this is not the coin with the spelling error, it is from the first run of the correctly spelled coins. This auction will end december 13, 2013 at 9 pm eastern time. bidding starts @ 1.1 btc with increments of .05 btc. good luck!

so weird, why are people so threatened by litecoin? i personally think ripples are a shit currency, but i've never felt strongly enough to make a thread on it. i think it goes against human nature to have just 1 be all end all of anything, be it religon, government, money, it doesn't matter we are too individual to just go with one thing. Since its easy to liquidate bitcoin into litecoin or vice versa both blockchains are strengthened from attack by governments/thieves/lawyers. Theres one gazillion alt coins out there but since crypto is still a completely free market only a handful have been picked to be of value. Litecoin's spendability makes it #2 hands down if only for that reason. I personally originally got into litecoins because it was the first alt coin to say "we want this coin to compliment bitcoin" vs all the others that were "we are better than bitcoins!". Also its fallacy to think that litecoin needs a big exchange in order to survive. Its done pretty well for the last 2 years without anything bigger than btc-e.com. I'd say in the future there will be even more coins that have value, although i'd say namecoin has the best spot to take #3 but not so much bc of its function, more because bitcoin miners also mine namecoin. But yeah really i don't understand the hate.

i wouldn't be surprised if we saw all the exchanges move to bitmills in early 2014

In the last fifty years i can't think of very many things that the us government hasn't made a total mess of. we put a man on the moon and that was pretty good. Other than that im coming up short. Maybe bitcoin will be different. I figure it can't hurt to talk to the senate, its not like we have anything to hide. Bitcoin does solve some serious problems with the us economy (quanitative easing) so maybe we'll get lucky. Bitcoin has shine that i can only compare to gold fever right now so maybe the senate will be like "Omg we can all get rich!" Yes the united states senate collectively uses Omg in a sentance.

lol i love your tip jar you should make a small usb version and sell it for bitcoins! i think the other post was about using your popcoin thing to also track ppcoin addresses, which is a sha256 alt coin similiar to bitcoin. it probably wouldn't be hard to modify. anyway im gonna download and try popcoin now! it would be useful to get some notification when my cold wallet gets a payout from my mining pool.

yeah bitcoin in and of itself is apolitical. Its just a well designed currency. One thing it could be used for would be a tool of revolution/protest. Lets say as an act of civl disobedience a large amount of people started using bitcoins instead of their government mandated currency. Part of the disobedience would be that these people would hide these bitcoins from the government ie not pay any taxes on it. If enough people did this the government would start having serious problems funding itself. Over time more people inside the government would be forced to also use bitcoins in order to survive. In theory this would collapse the government or at least force said government to stop being dicks to their population. This is just a theory. Another theory would be that you could use bitcoins to act as the backing for an alternative government in a civil war/seperatist war. That way when/if one government is toppled from power, the new government already has a system of exchange already in place eliminating the troublesome business of establishing legitimacy.
again these are just theories, bitcoins are what you use them for. Its just as likely that the establishment will start using bitcoins as a commodity and regulating/taxing the crap out of it.

grats on your found coins! i made a paper wallet with 20 coins on it and hid them in my treasure safe when that was only like 60 bucks. i forgot all about it until august, so funny i was doing an inventory of my silver and a sheet of computer paper is worth almost as much as the metal.

i doubt theres anything that can stop it now that its out of the bag. There has never been an item in history that was made less valuable when it was outlawed. The increased risk of incarceration or death adds to an items inherent value. Since its world wide to eliminate the blockchain would require at least worldwide governmental support and that ain't gonna happen short of a full scale alien invasion. I don't see an alt coin overtaking it any time soon. By no means am i a bitcoin snob i see alt coins as having a legitimate place and utility in the world of crypto. But i don't see any crypto alt chain overtaking it simply because the world is already invested in bitcoin. Bitcoins are waaay more useful than cash dollars but we haven't seen instant worldwide adoption bc the world relies on dollars. The bitcoin "brand" is becoming more and more trusted. Alt coins will become more or less valuable as the public starts to use them more or less.
