41  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: For sell converted server PSUs 1800W 12V 80+ platinum on: May 20, 2016, 01:51:19 AM
For sale high-end server power supplies converted for use in mining.

They're made by Delta Electronics and are designed to work 24/7.
Voltage: 12V .Voltage can be set between 11V to about 14V maximum.
Amps: 150A, but they can hold up to 200A of continue load without any harm (tested for 2 days of non stop work under 200A load, but I honestly do not know how long would they work under such load)

PSUs come in different cable versions depending on your needs. I can sell them without any cables or with PCI-E plugs ready to work with GPUs or miners e.g. any Antminer.

PSUs do not have factory fans, because they are supposed to be cooled be air flow from server, so I mount additional high-flow fans on them.

Prices:
PSU with switch and fans - 45 Euro
PSU with 5x 50cm PCI-E 6pin plugs - 60 Euro
PSU with 10x 50cm PCI-E 6pin plugs - 75 Euro

Payment:
BTCTC or COD, escrow.

Shipment:
Buyer covers shipment cost. I'm from Poland and that's from where the PSUs will be sent. Exact shipment cost will be confirmed with buyer.

Sorry for my bad english, if you have any questions please PM me and I will try to answer:)

Are you using a DPS-1600 PSU? I thought it was rated for 1600 watts.

China is a great place if you plan ahead. Like I did for many small components.

For a combo mobo/cpu/ram + risers, I'm trying to get it in this forum.

44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: ETH: DwarfPool is really charging 1% ? on: March 21, 2016, 02:02:08 AM
DwarfPool: 2.10 ETH/Day for 108 MH
Using http://ethereum-mining-calculator.com/ : 2.41 ETH/Day
Using https://etherscan.io/ether-mining-calculator : 2.42 ETH/Day
Both calculators use a network hashrate that is below the current daily average (according to etherscan.io),
which results in higher expectations than the real earnings.

If I adjust the numbers to fit the average daily hashrate, I get 2.03 and 2.31, which are values closer to your real earnings.

Thanks for this insight.

I get different numbers. Could you correct them ?

Using yesterday numbers and last 24h pool rewards:

DwarfPool: 2.10 ETH

Yesterday daily hashrate : 1377
Yesterday block count: 6082
Daily time for a block: 14.2 sec

Revised expected rewards: 2.39 Eth/Day for both calculators
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / ETH: DwarfPool is really charging 1% ? on: March 21, 2016, 01:45:05 AM
Hi all,

Just wondering why my earnings on DwarfPool are on average 12-15% below mining calculators. Pool side hashrate is what I expect from my GPUs:

DwarfPool: 2.10 ETH/Day for 108 MH
Using http://ethereum-mining-calculator.com/ : 2.41 ETH/Day
Using https://etherscan.io/ether-mining-calculator : 2.42 ETH/Day

Anyone experienced the same results ? Any idea where this disconnect comes from ?

Thanks
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethminer, how to be sure you are solo hashing properly ? on: March 17, 2016, 04:54:51 PM
I was also very unlucky with solomining (found 4 instead of 8 blocks) and Geth randomly stopped syncing twice without any errors or even disconnecting the miners and once it stopped with an error.
All that with plenty of nodes and stable internet so I gave up solomining.

I have to restart my geth every few hours.

I don't like the idea of having to restart geth. And the possibility of not knowing something is wrong will probably make me also turn back to pool mining.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethminer, how to be sure you are solo hashing properly ? on: March 17, 2016, 04:52:42 PM
first of all this can be normal because the diff is very high, and btw what is your hash? you can do an estimate based on your hash on how much tiem you need for a block

I was hashing at 64 MH and I was expecting a block every 3.5-4 days (difficulty of last week).
Now I'm hashing at 108 MH and I’m expecting a block on about every 2 days (at current difficulty).

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ethminer, how to be sure you are solo hashing properly ? on: March 16, 2016, 12:40:41 AM
Hi,

I am solo mining for a few days now without mining a block. I am most probably simply unlucky, but it made me wonder how could I check if I am hashing fine?

Ethminer cmd window is displaying same text as you could find on google image.
Hashing rate is what I expect from my GPUs.
Geth is in sync with current block (www.etherchain.org)
Everything seems normal.

Now, what if something is wrong with my DAG file or anything else is wrong, how could I know? You guys found a way to check all this?

Thanks

Still looking for listed cards. Found the risers.

adaseb and VirosaGITS or others,

Since price of ETH is still rising, do you believe 200$CAD for a 280x is a fair price ?

It is, i would probably take it. But its a pretty power hungry card, so i would personally mix it with low power one.

Thanks, which card you suggest ?

Thanks guys. I'll keep looking for good retail prices. I found one last week (R9 280, 3 Gb) at 232$ CAD.

Just to know, how late am I to the party ? 2 weeks ?

Thanks for the advice, I found a few indeed on kijiji but prices are not that good. I'm also trying in this forum.

You have an opinion on 2 Gb models ? They will be unable to mine in a few months.

I'm looking for the cards listed above. Paying in BTC. I'll also require an escrow on my money. Shipping will be to Montreal.

I'm also interested in powered usb risers.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU question: AMD 280 vs 280x ? on: March 03, 2016, 02:57:34 PM
Found difference between cards:

R9 280 is also known as 7950 hashing eth at about 22 MH/sec
R9 280x is also known as 7970 hashing eth at about 25 MH/sec

anybody can confirm these numbers ?
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU question: AMD 280 vs 280x ? on: March 03, 2016, 01:54:43 PM
I found confusing information on the web. Does a R9 280 will be able to mine at 25 MH/sec ?

What does this X means ?

There is curently a good price on newegg.
57  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New 3 x S7 Miner Setup With 0.0066 $ Elect. Rate on: February 13, 2016, 04:01:44 AM
A large mining farm would require lots of AC power. It doesn’t take many miners to overpower an AC.

AC is actually the last way you want to cool your farm it's just to expensive.  First is evaporation cooling, but it does not work in all environments.   Next I would say is using CFM's of fans/exhust to move hot air out.

AC no large scale bitcoin mining operation would use.

Is AC expansive because of initial price or because of the electricity? He has almost free electricity.

I agree with you, evaporative cooling is very effective but lots of CFM, if sufficient, would be my first choice.

Another option would be 2 phases immersion cooling. I've researched deep into this technology and concluded it doesn’t really apply to northern climate like here in Canada. The new 16 nm Bitfury chip and its large overclock ability might make me reconsider using 2PIC.

Amazing price!

I wonder why we hear so little about big farms in your country. As I said before look into used miners. You would get much  more hash power for the same price. Efficacity is irelevent with this rate.

Because very very few know what is bitcoin in Kuwait.

I think it is also part of the environment of the country: https://www.google.com/search?q=Kuwait&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=Kuwait&tbm=nws

I look up news of countries and see how stable, is news positive, etc.  There are some news I would not want to invest a ton of money on a operation there reading.  And that is just from researching 10 minutes.  Some of the news might make a business look at other places when doing a huge investment on a data center.  We have to remember were talking about the Persian Gulf.

I would definetly not invest there. I was more thinking about people living in that area of the world. Almost free electricity is attractive !
60  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Anyone experienced in Immersion Cooling? on: February 09, 2016, 03:21:21 PM
I have contacted 3M for their fluid here in India and they do have it here but the price per gallon is a bit too, too, too, high...

I've came to the same conclusion here in Canada. Too expansive to wort the investment except if you can overclock your miners by a large factor. Next 16 nm Bitfury chips can be economicly cooled by immersion cooling. All depends as to when they will be available to the general public.
