41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: April 30, 2021, 04:41:44 PM
Just sold 5% of my Bitcoin that I've been holding for 3 years and I feel satisfied doing so.

I didn't need to sell, and it was mainly for the satisfaction of getting back some of my original investment.

However, I also feel like its broken the "HODL AT ALL COSTS" mindset which I felt was getting a bit unhealthy.

I do feel there are risks with Bitcoin, and I won't drag people down with that here, but I will be diversifying that money into gold and shares, mainly tech shares.

If Bitcoin dips a lot, I will also buy some more Bitcoin though.

Basically, I'm glad I sold some if only to stop feeling like a slave to it (and to test the Coinbase selling functionality which only took seconds for the transaction).

It sounds like you are a considerate and reasonable mind, congrats! Not all holders are that way. Even though it now feels great you probably also felt some pressure every now and then. Was holding onto it tough for you sometimes or were you confident all the time?
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RUMOUR: Facebook will announce they hold #Bitcoin on: April 30, 2021, 04:37:52 PM
Is been 3days now, the rumour is yet to be confirmed. Facebook announcing that they have bitcoin on their balance sheet would be a positive news but not the final good news as smart people over the world have decide to taking destiny in their hands by simply holding bitcoin against the government and capitalist advise.

There is nothing to confirm because Facebook isn't announcing anything. This is a big company like Microsoft that is being used by the government to watch over its people, Mark is not going to grill himself for announcing he has BTC even if he has some. Facebook prefers to create its own coin though.

Facebook will likely respond yes they have Dogecoin is Alistair spread such rumor about Facebook.

Target is right. There is absolutely no point in such an announcement in general. However, as it is a public company, I am not sure if they have to inform their investors ad hoc to some degree? Could that be a possibility? When they have to prepare their balance sheets, I would expect they have to list what type of assets they hold. I don't know. Any thoughts about what I just said?
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cars That Can Be Purchased with Bitcoin on: April 30, 2021, 04:33:04 PM

Tesla made plenty of headlines recently when they announced they’ve made it possible to purchase their cars with Bitcoin. But this company was not the first to offer customers payment methods in cryptocurrencies. I have listed various other dealerships located mainly in the United States which have started accepting crypto payments as early as 2015.

Let’s see what kind of cars you can buy with bitcoin, and where:

3.
NAME: Bitcars
LOCATION: Geneva, Switzerland
OFFER:
Supercars, luxury cars, bikes, motorhomes, Off-roaders, Oldtimers.

ABOUT: Bitcars is a car dealership website that sells luxury cars and Oldtimers for bitcoin since 2016. Besides cars, it’s also possible to purchase bikes, motorhomes, and yachts. They made a post on Bitcointalk announcing their car dealership services in 2018.

There are many other individuals and sites that accept crypto, but I tried to filter out legit dealerships that have been in the car sale business many years.
Source: https://www.hotcars.com/car-companies-accept-bitcoin/

I like Bitcars. Have never heard of them before but it's a good choice for a car dealer to call your business Bitcars right now. If he gets the SEO right and you google Bitcoin and cars maybe that's the perfect match and you'll find him right away.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What's wrong with KuCoin exchange! on: April 30, 2021, 04:30:37 PM
Is the withdrawal fee around $100 (400,000KICK)? It is too high despite the high fees of the ethereum network.

I think that the withdrawal fees for kick already adjusted as the price increase that happened with kicktoken. The withdrawal fees totally pegged with the USD calculation.
When the price for each kick token was going up and this will make withdrawal.
I think that OP already withdrawn his kick from the kucoin exchange site

Even if they adjusted they should have an automatic update system in place that calculates reasonable withdrawal fees. They are running a crypto exchange but with stone age technology or what? Are they calculating the withdrawal fees manually with a calculator?
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin last till infinity on: April 30, 2021, 04:29:26 PM
Governments can't do anything except upto a limit to regulate crypto and Bitcoin, they can't chase it till infinity because quite simply, Bitcoin is way above their league, literally, they can't control or regulate it. But the bad thing is, Bitcoin is limited and will only continue till 2130 I think, that's what gives it value but something better will replace it, so the legacy will continue till we see the end of the world I guess Grin

There are a couple of things they could do like restricting stores from accepting it. There is nothing you can do as a store owner if Government doesn't allow you to take anything for payment other than the national fiat currency.

47  Economy / Speculation / Re: I Sold.... BITCOIN Bull Run Is Over.... on: April 20, 2021, 07:25:00 AM
There are many bad news about btc i sold it before it tooo late.
stay strong people!
Sure then try to buy back higher than the price when you sold it when the price skyrocket again.
It is normal for the price to crash and if you would always wait or think that it would always be too late you would always have a regret on your investments.

Yes Bitcoin is dead, it's over. Like in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021...? Bull run is over, Bitcoin is dead.

Perhaps OP can offer some convincing evidence and indicators as to why the bull run is over please?

I would be very interested in seeing the information that you base your conclusion on.

48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin last till infinity on: April 20, 2021, 07:23:18 AM
I believed that bitcoin will not last because of government policy is against bitcoin
which government? there are hundreds of them and many aren't against bitcoin.

Quote
and many people is seeing bitcoin as a scam,
what do you mean by many? did you run any reasearch and ask people in the streets what they think about bitcoin or are you just saying it to have said something?

Quote
so with such points I don't think bitcoin will stay till 2030,
since when 2030 is infinity?

Quote
and if bitcoin stay till then that means it will stay till further notice.
why use this arbitrary year? bitcoin has been around since 2008. it is not like it was made yesterday.

Quote
Please am not here to criticised cryptocurrency but from the attacks government attacks crypto I think such will come in reality.
it seems more like you are deep in some FUD.

I suggest the OP to become immortal in order to find out. The question fails on any rational and philosophical level because nobody can answer it anyway Cheesy Will planet earth exist until infinity? Ask me in X years and I will tell you..
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What's wrong with KuCoin exchange! on: April 20, 2021, 07:21:34 AM
It's best to wait for their response but I think it's a case of Kucoin not updating their pricing for the withdrawal fee. The delisting of Kick was announced last Dec. 16,2020 when the price was around $0.00001116 to $0.00001358 (Coingecko historical data). The withdrawal fee of 400K Kick at that time was around $5.

Had the same problem once with another coin and sent an email to the support. They fixed it but I remember it took quite a while.... Patience is required...

Good privacy is quite a relative term if you put it that way. Can you maybe let us know a little bit more about the degree of privacy users of your network can expect?
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] UniFox - 💎 Imagine MasterCard for cryptocurrencies 💎 on: August 06, 2018, 10:23:52 PM
How will this project differ from other ICO? I'm seeing the same functionality with other projects, what are you guys up to in this marketplace?

Hello, UniFox have an entire crypto-friendly ecosystem, 5 connected products that will helps with all crypto transactions. Thanks to our POS terminals you will be able to easily pay in crypto and the retailer receives fiat currency! Maybe there are similar projects, but you can not buy with their cryptocurrencies, and you can with Unicash.

What's the POS for in this context? Does it relate to your chain being proof of stake? How many terminals will be set up in the beginning or does that depend on how many merchants will order your terminal?
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: August 06, 2018, 10:22:21 PM
We need an airdrop to stimulate things on the waves platform, maybe to celebrate the release of the Client 1.0.0.

But why do you think that an airdrop will stimulate anything right now? Its giving away resources for free and who knows if anybody really becomes more active only because of an airdrop.

In fact waves just need adoption not airdrops lol. It will come with smart contracts on main net, I'm pretty sure.
And speaking about prices, every altcoin is going/went down, it's just the market right now! ICO price was around $0.19 btw

Yes not caring about the price right now as it's the same for every project, but as I said airdrops won't do anything for the price except for pushing it further down.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WHITELIST]WorkChain.io- Real Time Payroll on the Blockchain | Working App! on: August 06, 2018, 10:21:32 PM
So the objective is to have a daily payout instead of monthly or bi-monthly? There is also an advantage of having less paydays as it forces the receiver to manage the financials properly. If people tend to spend their money fast it might even be harder for them to save daily payouts if a big payment needs to be done for anything important.

So the objective is to have a daily payout instead of monthly or bi-monthly?

Yes.

--

There is also an advantage of having less paydays as it forces the receiver to manage the financials properly. If people tend to spend their money fast it might even be harder for them to save daily payouts if a big payment needs to be done for anything important.

If you take the position that consumer spending habits wouldn't change then you're right that it could have negative impacts.

Our team takes the position that it's not the job of the State / Employer to 'force people to save' and lock them into payroll cycles which if we're honest were never setup to help the employee. They were setup to allow businesses time to better manage their cash-flow and have time to process the payroll itself. We wrote about that recently here:

https://medium.com/workchain-io/blockchain-payroll-it-makes-zero-sense-that-youre-still-living-paycheck-to-paycheck-and-you-ac9dfdc4a0ef

--

We believe that an individual should be compensated the moment the job is done and can be verified. How they choose to spend or save their money is their business. Not ours.

While our initial goal is to liberate individuals from payroll cycles, we also want to help them put their money to work faster so they (not the business or bank) can earn from their savings before they need it for life's expenses: https://workchain.io/whitepaper/workpay%20advance

--

Here is how we see the future and what we're building at WorkChain.io:

An individual's savings are available and they alone choose how much they want to have available for withdrawal on a daily basis. They also choose how much they want to automatically put to work earning interest every single day they work! When they need to pay a rent, or a bill for example they can have those funds pre-programmed so be available on those specific dates.

--

The world is a pretty depressing place if we don't believe in people to evolve alongside technology / or that they need the state to manage their lives/finances for them. That's not the world our team chooses to believe in. At it's core, isn't this what Bitcoin is all about, and how it all started? Wink

I agree with you in most parts, but the state does have to intervene every now and then. Following your reasoning it would be ok to just allow anyone to drink alcohol and take drugs and then say that it's the citizens' own responsibility. I really think that more people will get into trouble if they get their money every day.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] 7Seconds - Decentralized Global Credit Marketplace on: August 06, 2018, 10:15:14 PM
If you say that the process for granting credit takes less than 2 minutes why is your project called 7seconds?
Under 2 minutes if you count time using Earth's parameters, but we found systems with planets, where you can do the same operation in 7Seconds. That's why we called 7Seconds.

Wow that's some crazy thought process. Cheesy I would have never come up with that in a million years if I didn't decide to just ask you.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ART] Maecenas: First ever fine artwork to be auctioned on the blockchain! on: August 06, 2018, 10:14:29 PM
Is there a mechanism for a painting sold for ART to be resold to a single owner. Eg. someone buys shares in the Warhol but loses the private key, how can a future investor fully own the piece?

Yes this is covered in the terms of the SPV when it's created. They know the identity of everyone who co-owns the Warhol so you can never lose your investment due to technical problems because there is an offline old fashioned paper record of it in custody of an official agent.

Is it therefore not possible to anonymously own a piece of art if bought on Maecenas? There is always someone who has the information right?

They can. But they won't necessarily get a better deal if they want to, because by buying shares they would push the price up

Isn't that anyway the case that the price goes up if a lot of people want to buy? You could have zero knowledge proofs like someone who wants to buy and places an order is not known but the order and the piece of art or the share in that art is known.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcloud 2.0 - BTDX - PoS3 - Newest Masternode Core 12.2 - Quark on: August 06, 2018, 10:06:13 PM
A little news in the meantime: BitCloud is now listed on Coinlib

Great to see listing on new exchanges, but as always, I emphasis the decentralized Cryptobridge exchange for everyone. Use it! Control your keys while you still trade.
 Grin

Yes it is a very good thing that you keep control but decentralized exchanges have less volume and trading speed. It's a bit annoying sometimes but has the huge upside that they usually can't lose your funds.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bonafi - Fights counterfeits using Blockchain and Crypto-Tag on: August 06, 2018, 10:05:12 PM

The extension for the browser is only one part of Bonafi right? You will also have a mobile and a desktop application?

No, there will not be an application for the desktop, since it doesnt make sense.
There will be an application for iOS, Android, as well as a separate application for the same systems but for sellers.
Well, as you have noticed, the extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Explorer

Wow, I heard only about the expansion for Chrome. If they are for the mentioned browsers too, it's very good, because I'm used to Firefox.
Do you think the use of the extension will be paid?
Well, as I understand this it will have a purely symbolic value. Not so big to worry about it. We are looking forward to the launch of the extension!

Why symbolic value? There are also a lot of people using other browsers than Chrome and it's good to have as many potential users as possible covered.

I think it was about the cost of using the extension. It cant be too expensive, I think

What cost of using the extension? Oh you mean the amount of tokens someone has to pay to actually download and use it?

Nice, but still waiting for that killer dapp that brings Decent to the map and center of the attention. What could that even be?

Winning the hackathon is a good sign that the team behind Decent is able to create something big. You don't win those events if you are bad.

What are you talking about? Do you mean arranging the hackathon instead of winning it? Or do you think that Decent won it?

I didn't know they actually arranged the hackathon as the title of their article suggests that they won it. Anyway, it's good they increase visibility and involvement with the space as a whole by such actions.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-SALE] WULET — 💸 Cryptoback For Everyday Purchases on: August 06, 2018, 09:55:22 PM
Another useful project. I suppose that all bonuses are paid in tokens. Can all revived tokens from different stores be combined and spent on one thing.
of course, you can buy something in partner's store using these tokens. I suppose that there will be a lot of useful things.
and if I won't find the thing I want? What should I do in this case. The idea to buy unwanted rubbish doesn't brings me joy at all
his point is described in white paper. It will be possible to exchange WU tokens for fiat money. Anyway I t think that the list of partners will be enough for you
You know, because some loyalty programs offer only bonus points that can be applicable only special store. They are literary force us to buy more. Glad to find out that I can exchange received tokens for fiat money. Thank you for information.

That's not bad but I think that the tokens would probably trade at a tiny discount compared to the value that you could actually use them for if you buy a service or product from a merchant.

Whooo! #TheAbyss is now listed on #LATOKEN #exchange (@latokens)! Trading has already started. The following pairs are available:

It looks like LAtoken is a promising place to start exchanging tokens. They have listed a lot of relatively high profile projects in recent times and they are growing at a very fast speed.
