41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: xrp to 28$ on: December 20, 2019, 06:48:24 PM
The high prices are illusion of the bull traders, not everyone is capable of accepting the realities.
This is still somewhat of a "conservative" prediction because I have seen the XRP army speculate about $100 and even $589 per coin, which is utterly ridiculous. This has got to be the most delusional crypto community.

IMHO, I even find it hard to believe that it will ever increase past its current high of +$3. For a coin that's said the be the only coin with a use case it's down just as much as most failed token projects. From +$3 to $0.19 today.... great coin!
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Chainlink destined for New Highs in 2020? on: December 20, 2019, 05:51:31 PM
Hardly anyone knew of Chainlink last year around this time.
Now that's completely different, which makes me wonder how much upside there realistically is left without the retail fomo crowd pumping prices to the moon. I would say that if I were to be an early bird, it's time to cash out.

This of course doesn't mean that it will not go up anymore. It's just what I would do in that scenario. Some times you just have to be happy with the profits that you made and take out a large chunk just to be on the safe side of the fence.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are American tax laws holding Bitcoin back? on: December 20, 2019, 02:25:18 PM
I mentioned in another thread that even faucets micro wallet (FaucetHub) is stop working with faucets, AML5 requires that each user be verified which is insane for people who click for few a few dollars a month.
That's unfortunately the unwanted side effect of this industry getting more mature. I still think that we haven't seen the worst of what regulations will be imposed on crypto as a whole.

It's simply impossible to grow your business when you play by the rules, which is a damn shame because that could potentially slow down adoption. People wanted crypto to grow larger and larger, well, here they have it.

In a year or two probably everything centralized will require some degree of verification.  Undecided
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright: "BTC is not Bitcoin" on: December 20, 2019, 01:39:58 PM
He is done in crypto, his reputation is already ruined.
I wish you were right, but that's unfortunately not the case. Most of the popularity he gained throughout the years was directly the result of all the bad publicity.... for this scammer bad publicity is good publicity.

The only way for him to lose popularity is to have people stop talking about him. You don't do anyone a favor calling him out for being a scammer. News portals have played a big role too because they continuously recycle articles about him.

I'm really glad that he and his fellow nChain scammers have forked off and I'm sure the Bcashers think alike.
45  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset backed cryptocoins? on: December 20, 2019, 12:53:06 PM

Also I dont think people believe when the team say that Petro is backed with Oil. So there is no point, its a normal cryptocurrency.
I have a hard time believing that. I have seen quite a bunch of coins that supposedly were backed by something, but none of them managed to provide any evidence of that, neither did people really care.

All I saw was people hyping the coins up, which seems to be a thing that all bag holders do.... they don't care whether it's a scam or not as long as they can sell their coins to noobs thinking it will 10 or 100x from the price they buy at.
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela & The Bitcoin on: December 19, 2019, 06:52:42 PM
movement in localbitcoins is also a reaction of its citizens regardless of the economic burden of embargo sanctions faced by the government.
I find the volumes on localbitcoins not that telling, especially with how it doesnt show why the coins have been bought. I'm leaning towards speculative buying and selling rather than people buying Bitcoin as safe haven.

Another thing is that due to their fiat currency losing purchasing power constantly, the increasing volumes on localbitcoins are kinda deceiving because in USD the volumes haven't actually gone up, but have been trending down.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The best crypto projects created in 2019? on: December 19, 2019, 03:25:48 PM
I think of 100% of projects coming in 2019 and the quality is only about 1%, why not say the project since 2018 so there might be more recommendations for this thread
I don't think the projects of 2018 are much better than those that started this year, especially so when you look at their price development, which is absolutely horrible for 99% of all the cryptos that this market counts.

ChainLink has been somewhat of an exception, but who got in early on? And it technically doesn't even fit in the category of 2018/2019 projects. That just shows how little interesting projects there currently are in this space.... what a joke.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will XRP repeat last 2017 bull run? on: December 19, 2019, 02:48:34 PM
However, I think we are still far from that but things will surely get better soon. There are upcoming events that will affect the prices of crypto in 2020 so let's hope for the best.
People need to readjust their expectations to a point where they have to admit that it isn't likely that they will break even on XRP any time soon. Most people I have seen are in denial, and they have been that for over a year.

Will XRP have a pump eventually? I'm sure it will have, but without the institutions entering and actually using XRP (which is what people have been waiting for so long) I doubt it will go past its current $3.5 all time high. It isn't realistic.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Plustoken owners may be driving down the price of bitcoin - Chainanalysis blog on: December 19, 2019, 12:43:31 AM
It doesn't matter why the price is going down, it never has. Whoever the sellers are, they can't keep selling endlessly, so people are better focusing on dollar cost averaging on the way down before they regret not having bought any coins.

How much worse can it get? We have had only a few month bull run instead of a multi year bull market. In this specific case there are fewer sellers to shake off so it makes sense that we don't see the price pull off another 80-90% correction.
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction 2019, 2020, 2025, 2030, 2040 on: December 18, 2019, 11:50:52 PM
I will only give my prediction for 2040 :  Bitcoin will cease to exist because of quantum computing.
I find it more likely that Bitcoin ends up being just a memory at that point due to the lack of demand than quantum cumputing. It's something that's hyped a lot mainly by the mainstream media to trash talk Bitcoin.

I personally won't make any prediction until we have broken through the $20k all time high, which in all fairness, we might never see again. I'm open to that possibility even though I think it's more likely that it will get broken.
51  Economy / Speculation / Re: ❄️ BITCOIN : winter is coming? by 𝓜𝓪𝓻𝓬𝓴𝓿𝓼 𝓡. 𝓐𝓬𝓴𝓮𝓻𝓶𝓪𝓷𝓷 ❄️ on: December 18, 2019, 06:53:18 PM
It's so easy to talk about a winter that's coming when prices are going down across the whole market. I would have liked to see these threads pop up like a month or two ago, but people were still bullish then.

I think we might be up for a short term bullish reversal with how bearish people currently are. I say short term because we have been tricked before by reversals that a couple of months later turned out to be another lower high.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP BUYING BITCOIN NOW!!! This coin is crap on: December 18, 2019, 03:43:33 PM
People are always comparing bitcoin to eth and everyone has their own opinion towards it. We can't stop them for being discouraged into btc, let them be that way. Exactly, we always read this kind of opinions, many of us still believes in btc.
People compare Bitcoin to anything they hold. If they hold XRP then it's better than Bitcoin. If they hold ETH then it's better than Bitcoin. I have seen the same within stock market forums when I was still trading stocks.

People have an incentive to shill whatever they hold a lot of, which just as easily applies to Bitcoin holders. Bitcoin holders consider every coin that isn't Bitcoin a scam or at the very least a shitcoin. In most cases they are right but not every coin.

I don't consider Ethereum as scam or shitcoin, the same applies to Monero and a couple of other coins. People are free to choose whatever coin they use or invest in. Why should we trash them for doing that?
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government. on: December 18, 2019, 03:06:20 PM
darkweb is the one that we blame here not btc because btc is only a currency and a currency can be used anywhere but a website like darkweb is only specific for listing strange things and illegal things as well  .
I don't think we should blame dark web markets either. While I definitely don't agree with some of what's being sold or offered there, it shows that the people on these markets enjoy the benefits of what Bitcoin has to offer.

If these people using these markets can enjoy what Bitcoin has to offer, we as regular users can do so too. As long as that is the case, I don't see much wrong with how other people are using Bitcoin. Things are as they are whether we like it or not.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential ETH Prices in December the Lowest 98$ and the Highest 222$ on: December 17, 2019, 07:01:06 PM
Unfortunately it looks like we'll be testing the support levels rather than the upwards resistance. I do think though that the market is still moving together, and ETH price movement is dependent primarily on bitcoin movement. With that in mind, I am not anticipating an ETH rise until we also see a bitcoin rise.
That sums it up nicely. In order for altcoins to do well, Bitcoin has to do well. Only during an altcoin season where altcoins temporarily disconnect themselves from Bitcoin they can rise on their own, but there is no altcoin season.

Overall, if you're really bullish on crypto, you should want the prices to go down because that allows you to accumulate more coins for less fiat. People don't think like that because they only want to see the price go up, but thats not how markets work.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is THREEFOLD NETWORK the future of decentralized cloud computing? on: December 17, 2019, 05:43:06 PM
There is code to show, it’s all open source on https://github.com/threefoldtech .
Something being open source is meaningless to most people because they have no clue about how to verify anything they see on Github. It has turned out to be a buzzword more than anything.

Overall, I have yet to see a successful decentralized cloud project attract users for the use aspect.... thus far people have only eye for the speculative aspect, which is something that needs to change in order to be used by people.
56  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-13 ] Africa Experiences Surge In Use Of Digital Currency on: December 17, 2019, 12:47:51 PM
Many donators have contributed to building a better education in Africa, it starts from there.
I don't think donations will do anything apart from boosting some local initiatives. People have donated to African countries for decades now and the situation there hasn't shown much improvement at all.

In that sense we can say that it started decades ago but without much success. As long as the wrong people are leading the countries nothing will change. I hope that I will be proven wrong, but history isn't favoring a positive change.
57  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-14] Billionaires Buying Bitcoin: Bill Pulte Announces 11 BTC Purchase on: December 17, 2019, 12:07:54 PM
His tweet said he bought bitcoin. He was only begging for likes similar to any social media user who seeks attention.
That doesn't really matter. It made Bitcoin have some free global exposure as news outlets picked up on that pretty quickly.

It's kinda funny because if it was an altcoin he bought into the altcoin space would be happy, but as always Bitcoiners can't be motivated to appreciate anything. What are you doing for Bitcoin? I'm sure a whole lot of nothing.

People shouldn't be so stiff. It's positive exposure.... hundreds of thousands of people have seen that post, and probably millions in total if you include the coverage coming from the many news outlets.
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many confirmations are equivalent* to 6 Bitcoin confirmations? on: December 16, 2019, 03:23:14 PM
Why anyone holds any major amounts of these altcoins is beyond me. It has been proven that an unknown entity can reverse your transactions at their will and there is nothing you can do about it. This is even less decentralized than a fiat bank, who at least have some rules and oversight as to what they can and cannot do.
People unfortunately don't care. When BTG was 51% attacked and delisted from a couple of exchanges, the price didn't even go down, which is weird because it should have had a double digit sell off.

All that matters in crypto are the profits people hope to make. It really is sad that the community has such an attitude, but there isn't much that can be done against it.... people will continue to hop from one scam coin to another.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Spouses and Divorce on: December 16, 2019, 02:47:10 PM
His wife claimed that he was hiding most of his wealth and requested the judge to send the guy to prison. I don't know what happened in the end.. but that thread was quite old (probably from 2013-14).
Ouch. That's what 'love' does to people. First they like each other, then they hate each other.... reason enough to never get involved in a relationship or especially not a marriage. People who do anyway scam themselves.

It's funny that the wealth you worked for so hard to accumulate throughout the years needs to be hidden because it's at risk of being taken away from you by someone you wanted to get old with.

That once again points out that not talking your wealth is the best option, doesn't matter if it's your crush, friends, family, and so on.... all these people are nothing but a bunch of leeches trying to surf on the wealth you worked for.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10.000 Euro longterm (2-3 years) - in what 2 altcoins should i invest? on: December 16, 2019, 11:45:20 AM
ETH and DOGE Smiley seriously.. the other one is pretty flat with price for the past weeks, it created such a huge support on these levels that it will be almost impossible to lose much. It has meme value, a lot of fomo mooning potential and decent volume/cap.
I find it funny how people recommend others to buy DOGE. I have nothing against that coin, and to some degree I even like it and the community behind it, but from an investment point of view, it's a horrible coin to invest in.

Look at the all time chart provided by Bittrex. All DOGE has ever done is jump up and down within the same satoshi range, and that since the very beginning. It's impossible to consider DOGE a coin worthy of investing in. It makes zero sense.
