42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][QB]QuarkBar - 7GHS - Giveaway - Now on exchange on: March 03, 2014, 05:33:39 AM
Where can I start mining at?
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Launch 1st March | MINING STARTS NOW! (POOLS UP) on: March 02, 2014, 05:29:24 PM
Hey folks,

suprnova.cc is currently getting ddos'ed in various ways.

I've set up a second stratum to mitigate better:

stratum+tcp://us-emc2.suprnova.cc:3366

Please use this one for a part of your miners, as I'm trying to filter the malicious traffic from the first stratum.

The first one will be much better soon, don't worry, I've had this a thousand times already.

+1 SuperNova.cc - aside from the DDOSS Attacks, i've successfully cashed out over '800' automatic payments for EMC2

What is the estimated time until block rewards reach 512 - 256 - 128?

Weeks, Months, Days? is there an estimation of the time frame to reach those block rewards?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :) on: March 02, 2014, 10:41:51 AM
so... did this still not happen?

How is it impossible? The entire crypto community cannot get a GPU miner working for primecoin?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Launch 1st March | MINING STARTS NOW! (POOLS UP) on: March 02, 2014, 09:41:04 AM
This seems to have some potential. I've liked primecoin since day 1, and this type of coin is bringing back memories.

I haven't seen anything science related since primecoin.  Keep up the good work devs.

52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WorldCoinIndex.com - Indexing all Cryptocoins and Prices on: February 22, 2014, 09:46:47 AM
I don't see nyancoin anywhere in the list >-<

please add preminecoin.
It's already on Coinmarketcap and made it to the Top 50 for a short time.
Actually it's on Place 79 with a Marketcap of around 200,000 $, but I'm sure it will hit the Top 50 soon again.
Please add it to WorldCoinIndex. I like your site more cause it can show the prices also in EUR  Smiley
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=427519.0

Adding more coins this week.

As for preminecoins, using a marketcap rank is pretty unfair, but we will definitely add preminecoins to our site, because it is part of the crypocurrency world!
That is why need a ranking system that will be biased for pow/pos/pob/preminecoins. Also the number of traded coins are increasing as for the number of exchanges. Without new ranking we think it might confuse early adapters/ early majority and might give wrong impressions.

+1 for Primecoin, and +1 for WorldCoinIndex for staying ahead.

I'm not mistaken if I say that thepandacoin.net  was redirected to scam thepandacoin.com before ?

Then I do not understand, WTF post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=464476.0 was created only 3 days later after this scam?
Who this man?
This is not a new scam?

uh, what is going on here?? How many Panda coins are there?  So New Genesis Block of panda, no premine, same logos? I don't get it.

Look who is talking about not to dump premine hahahahahh its the 42 coin team ........ strange world

Simply look at the timeline of cryptsy and openex exchange (the only two supports for 42) from dates 01-14ish until now, you can clearly see the volume didn't match the premine of what was traded. And if you trace back the block explorer, you can clearly see, there was no dump from the team-- see the point is, this instamining is not going to stop, that is the theory to this... and business insider clearly did a review about it because they read between the lines with all these new crypto currencies popping up with heavy premine/heavy instamining- Here is the source for anyone interested in reading it (http://www.businessinsider.com/introducing-42coin-2014-1)

I can't think of the last time business insider really liked to discuss crypto currencies aside from their early on Primecoin press release/review.

My General Rule of thumb when Analyzing any Crypto Currency: What is the volume traded vs the amount of coins currently in circulation (market cap) vs how many coins are premined. Then look at the overall hourly, 12 hour, and 24 hour volume as soon as it hits the exchange.  This will tell you everything about the coin, what the team is up to, and how it will hold a future. Primecoin is a good example because of no premine/instamining theory, which I did learn a lot from Sunny King (Primecoin Developer) during my support with Primecoin.

This goes with any crypto currency as a core foundation when you are judging (to invest) or (mine) any coin. Don't follow the hype and marketing, follow the logic. In a scenario where lets imagine if 42 coin did dump 50% of the market cap (as seen in this screenshot at the time of cryptsy- http://42coin.org/images/product-image-left.png -- the price would have went reflected a significate drop - similar to what we've seen with Panda and all these other high volume premined coins...

My Estimation- we would have seen 42 go from 2,000 BTC - 1,500 BTC immediately down to the floor (100 BTC) there was not enough coins at the time of circulation.
It was about 0.8 coins mined and the volume doesn't equal to the premine (if it was dumped) like you say its 'strange'.. not strange at all

In the next day or so, I'll conduct a market analysis for some known Cryptos that have dumped and Tag onto the theory we are speaking of now.
55  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: OpenFaucet: The open source coin faucet implementation! on: February 22, 2014, 08:25:34 AM
I just want to give my review of Zen00 for the community to find out what type of guy he is.

Zen00 is dedicated to the success of any coin, without him worrying about his pockets or constantly asking for bounties. He has been proactive and making new updates and backing up his word with his new open source faucet because he really believes in himself. He is even humble enough to push updates without much crypto coins trying to jump on his software. Zen00 is a go getter.

If any crypto currency wants an official or even community driven (adopters) faucet hosted on your domain without worrying about being scammed by a third party faucet holder, or virus driven site filled with ads that can potentially hurt you and your community, this is the right faucet to go to. Not only is this project open source (we all love that) the best part is -- Zen00 is here to back you up through the entire process. I see a big window of opportunity for many crypto currencies to use his software, and I for one, am a big 42 coin adopter, and would like to get this faucet updated on 42 coin very soon, and any of my other adoptions.

He is worth being paid bounty!  Zen00 please post your 42 Coin Address here or pm me that info. I'll donate to you.

I haven't fully installed it on the site yet but I want to make sure others know about you and you are paid for your
efforts to help the crypto currency industry. I'll make a donation on behalf of the Bitcointalk (Crypto) community now.

Okay, for all you people out there who have had trouble. I just went through the entire setup process with a fresh install of Ubuntu Server 12.0.4 and here are my findings.

You need to remember to install all dependencies, namely these ones in particular.

Code:
apt-get install php5-mysqlnd php5-curl build-essential libboost-all-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev git

Additionally you need to remember to set file permissions, own your public folders with the Apache file group, www-data, and make your logging directory writable, for testing purposes I just 777'd all the files and folders, never do that on a production site. See MPOS setup for more information.

Code:
chown www-data public/templates/compile public/templates/cache logs

Also remember to update to the latest version of all things with apt-get update/upgrade.

This should clear up any errors you're having, if you experience any other errors, well let me know as usual.

And thanks to those who found bugs for this project and reported them.

This is the type of crap Hendo was talking about. 42 has set the bar at a new low for developers and the community to realize... Watch out for high volume coins owned by Devs. This is how the community loses to the devs who eat off your hype.

As for 42 .. The 42 team didn't dump check the block chains... and yet.. 42 is still the highest priced crypto currency to date without kimotos gravity well implemented.

Guess you all know why 42 did 1% premine.. And so far, has proven its point for rarity, and its theory against instamine and predump by devs/coin teams

Read more about it @
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399658.0;topicseen

Note: Megacoin (Kimoto) is guiding 42 now with gravity well just like panda coin.. But you sure as hell can bet, the theory now makes sense for the pump n dump coins. Don't follow the hype... Go where its more logical and you'll come out ahead with the community

Wow Maco, that's great.!!!

Can you tell why I bought 0.2 btc worth in the first days @ 1115 woke up the next day and someone dumped a whole load and the price crashed?
Thanks for that

The point is.. The team didn't dump... It could have been a miner with large coins and don't forget... Multi pools still on the attack with 42. It needs gravity well badly... Plus I'm not saying people made money on 42 or didn't .. Its just the community was put first in mind before the selfish act of a team trying to make quick profits from hype.

Hendo's theory could be wrong or it could be right and 42 did take a dive in the charts but it took awhile for it to get pushed down... Panda coin went down in value faster than anything I've seen before

Hendo is onto something everyone... Look at all these new coins popping out and community is losing money because they follow along the pump n dumps to gain money. The new Panda coin just whipped out the community and now here is my message to all of you... Hendo told you so... And 42 coin was a testiment to his theory.

Read my post about pandas community dump

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=460037.msg5294823#msg5294823

If Hendo and the team would have dumped 42. 42 would be at a much lower price and it would have dropped immediately.

This is crazy guys... Hendo called this out and no one listened. Well, how about you now double check your calendar because there is a new wave of theory that is about to change the crypto game for good.

Yes, that's 42 coin. Yes I am motivated to help 42 and I myself haven't dumped my coins either and I know a few ppl holding 42.

Please check block explorer and you'll find out how Hendo and the team missed out on dumping to make huge profits just to prove this theory is what we need in place for the dumping and instamining to stop.

Its all about win for devs win for community and win for the brand of the coin

If its not win win win... Leave that coin and invest into a logical coin you can adopt and grow for the future.
