Zalfrin's 3rd release was amazing, and did wonders for me. Intel I5 Quad-Core 2500K Sandy Bridge. 3.3 GHz - Mined 5 Blocks, and 4 orphans (I didn't have ports open at the time, which might have been the reason for the orphans)... but it rocked! Still haven't mined with Sunny's updated V0.1.1 It's been 2 hours ~ So you are right. Did you use the Zalfrin's Release 3? 30 hours + mining ( not a single block mined ) I just started trying out Sunny's update: v0.1.1
On July 10, 2013 - I mined 5 blocks with 400 - 600 PPS .. note: I lost 4 orphans in that action, so it was technically 9 blocks mined, but 4 were lost, so 5 have been check marked. Anyways, the interesting thing is, I haven't touched a block. Anyone else getting the same results?
Find an optimized QT client here for your processor. I'm on an i3 3225 and I'm getting more than you since the first optimized QT I downloaded. Prior to that though (July 10th) I was getting 0 blocks mined and was probably the most unlucky person mining primecoin.

Thanks Sunny.
I am going to be testing this out, and will post results as they come in.

Don't feel bad. I hit 4 of those too.. and I haven't mined a single thing for 14 hours. Has there been a fork? My two mined blocks vanished I think I lost 6 blocks they are gone. I waited for over 2 days to get those two blocks and they are gone. Seems like a tragic story for my CPU. I guess slower internet connection is one of the reason to have higher orphan rates. I have a total of 4 orphans now.

Yes, after I do the following: cd ~/primecoin/src make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-
It gives me this error
In file included from db.cpp:6:0: db.h:14:20: fatal error: db_cxx.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. make: *** [obj/db.o] Error 1

I have an ORPHAN! HOW CAN I ADOPT IT? { "amount" : 0.00000000, "confirmations" : 0, "generated" : true, "txid" : "006f3d8e09341a8bd447037c64bc759337aea2bdb39d047d775f0f07b4a3a297", "time" : 1373528662, "timereceived" : 1373528664, "details" : [ { "account" : "", "category" : "orphan","amount" : 16.70000000 } ] } So... here is my Message for one block. hm? What to do here?

I see.. the block count is indeed going up. Alright, yeah we will see how it looks by tomorrow. Could be the 32-bit windows, as I am running x64. Maybe a -m32 switch is needed during the compile to force it into 32-bit mode.
Are you mining any blocks yourself? I have 1 pending immature that was included with your 4th release and now 5th release, not a single new addition. The PPS is not a problem.. however, the latest 'non-crash' release seems to be doing worse in blocks mined. I am running my release 5. I have not gotten a block with it yet, but my luck has been pretty terrible with solo mining, so I'm not surprised. It's definitely "hashing" and keeping up with the blockchain. I'll let it run overnight, more than likely I'll hit at least 1 block before I wake up. Make sure you current block number is incrementing, I had a build or two that were having problems with that. As long as the blockcount is ticking away, I think you're fine. FYI, my builds include SOME of the optimizations posted by Mike270 here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=251850.msg2700874#msg2700874Namely, items 1,2,3,5 from his list.

Oh my god, what a dumb dumb I am. Penny has dropped. Now getting 184pps from a cheap dual-core G2020 ivy bridge, using original unmodified sourcecode. Pps still fluctuates though.
Ahh, can't believe it's take me over 2 days to realise what I had to do to double the pps. Kicking myself.
Now let's see if it works on EC2...
How? Still a little vague.. can you elaborate specifically?

Yeah, I am totally in support of Primecoin. I would like to get in discussions with them Primecoin team directly to improve the app and serve the community with better resources. Yes, Apple takes roughly 1 week, however, due to some glitches in the past, I have noticed they do not agree with an app that uses sites like "CoinBase, or MTGOX" into them. It doesn't look like we would be adding any of that yet, so the approval could take a week but lets say 2 weeks to be on the safe side.

People are probably block robbing on their optimized clients. Someone has got to release an optimized binary.
Yeah no friggin kidding. 40 hours at 79 PPS average and nothing. Seriously. I've asked 10 people so far to help me learn how to compile code to add my own personal flags... I'm not asking for answers, just the method to adjust some variables. This is just as bad as instamining in my opinion. Pretty obvious by now that a 'select few' people are robbing this coin blind before most people can even find blocks. Same shit as as instamined crapcoins launched at 5 am pacific with botnets ready to go. Not sure if 100% intended by OP but releasing a coin that 'most people' take several days to even figure out how to mine is pretty damn weak. Moving on. I HOPE THIS IS NOT THE CASE... BUT LETS NOT JUMP INTO WHAT THE OP IS DOING OR NOT DOING...
