iPhone has some great commercial apps for trading stocks and options. Also good because most sync with iPad if you need a bigger screen.
42  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: July 26, 2016, 02:58:30 PM
The assumption is incorrect. Atheism is not defined as hatred for religion, but absence of belief in god.
43  Other / Off-topic / Re: Michael Moore admits Donald J Trump will be president. Lists 5 reasons. Discuss! on: July 26, 2016, 02:18:26 PM
Michael Moore just wants to scare liberals into voting.

45  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many bitcoin users here are playing Pokemon Go.? on: July 25, 2016, 10:35:47 PM
It is a phenomenon and a two folded one at that, not only is it interactive but it aligns computer / smartfone gameplay / reality with getting people and families to actually go outside and walk about - amazing!
46  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: July 25, 2016, 10:31:14 PM
Overwatch at the moment during downtime and our dev team are building a nice platform game called 'Gravity'.... Check out https://ionomy.com if you would like to learn more  Cheesy
47  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: July 25, 2016, 09:53:28 PM
It depends upon whether you have a large or a 'normal' salary that dictates the level of sways in volatility, a few dollars loss on a nominal salary isn't really going to be a problem whereas for example, a Premier league football player being paid in Bitcoin each week, they may loose thousands of dollars during a downswing of the market just blindly selling their BTC. Of course most people here will be somewhat savy with the digital market and perhaps have one eye on the charts thereby converting their BTC to FIAT at just the right time, perhaps even making a few dollars more as a little bonus; one thing is for sure and that is that the more BTC and the differing alt coins that are adopted mainstream - the better it is for us all.

I have questions to the ION team:  If I am interested in games that use cryptocurrencies, why wouldn't I just use a game that utilizes Bitcoin? For what reason should I buy a new altcoin that was cloned from another alt and has a premine of more than 50%? How is ION interesting to anyone else but the Paycoin bagholders who got some ION for free?

Microtransactions with Bitcoin are cost prohibitive with our game reward and platform incentive model. Small amounts of satoshi can't be moved cheaply.

Hi guys, long weekend. Had some family stuff to deal with, getting back to it today.

As to guy behind the Ionomy handle. I'm Richard Nelson, support director for ionomy.

We'll try and work through the thread today and get some of the more outstanding questions resolved.

The business registration is still stuck in government limbo, we're working with them and our local contact to get it sorted.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ION [ION] | ICO LIVE | PoS 3.0 | Mobile Gaming | Join the ionomy today! on: April 22, 2016, 08:45:59 AM

wow i love all these charts so colorful and interesting and so much information i can't believe how much growth the gaming industry will experience so exciting

shame there isn't a single goddamn mention of ION or general crypto integration in videogames...let alone how this horrid excuse for a scam-coin even pretends to be of any practical value in the mobile gaming industry.

at least your website looks cool...but what the hell is going on in the animation?  All I'm seeing is a kid with ADHD holding an iphone.  What's up with all the unrelated graphics...why is he dying in space?  WHY ARE THERE OPEN CONTAINERS FILLED WITH CHEMICALS SITTING UNDER A DARTBOARD AND OVER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF ELECTRONICS?  Why is there a shadow covering half of his body - does that represent his crippling depression/schizophrenia?

The longer I look, the more doubtful I am of this entire 'ICO'....

Their website looking cool isn't hard. Its bootstrap with a theme. I haven't looked at the source but i suspect its a theme from themeforest with an author that charges the usual rate of per site around $20 to use the theme. bitlend.io used oneui a good theme template thats $23. It is very very very easy to make a professional looking clean site nowadays so i wouldn't take that as meaning competency.

I suspect if you search theme forest you will find this exact rocket ship animation. They have done some artwork modifications to include the bitcoin symbol on the cup and the ion icon on his shirt... it'll be a modified purchase.

FYI, If you looked at the source code you would see this is a custom made site.

There is no source code to look at. The github is completely empty.

you fuckin retarded? how can you see source code without a coin being launched unless i am missing something...

I want to see the code to determine it's a clone. I want to look at the website to see whats going on and I would also like to see these "games" they are designing.

So become a beta tester when this program opens, I will try to get you in, that is, if you are interested. That would probably a way to get some of your questions answered. Just 'seeing' them, like in a screendump would not be the way.

You'll try to get him in?  Does that mean you have some pull with the dev team or the company founders of ionomy?

If so, could you ask them why it's taking so long to answer questions regarding the company structure, registration details etc, because I've been waiting over 13 hours for a response now and the information should have been immediately available, given that you're all here asking the users of BitcoinTalk to hand over money for the ICO.

lol they probably are just incorporating it now Cheesy but either way, if you want the info now why dont you pay for a service to look into it for you now instead of bitchin about it here since i dont see any other altcoin (WAVES, Lisk, others...) giving out company detail

Firstly, I'm not "bitchin", I'm asking a question, so kindly drop the attitude, please.

In their TOS they claim to be a company registered in Singapore, I've checked multiple online resources and there is no mention of them.

On top of that, if they are straight and legit then it shouldn't have taken more than 5 minutes to provide evidence that they are a registered company. Don't forget, they are the ones claiming to be registered in Singapore.  The fact that over 13 hours later there is no response to this simple important question should, at the very least, make anyone considering investing,  more than a little bit nervous.

We have reached out to our arcafile contacts to get information on why the company is not appearing on registration sites.  We are waiting for a response from our local director as well.  Once we have this info we will share it, until then there is nothing we can do and we'll post the facts once we have them.

Let's roll with your theory that he was 100% innocent in the GAW fiasco.

He was too stupid to stop himself from losing money in an obvious scam.

Then his next venture, xpy.io was an abject failure (as they have completely abandoned it and moved on to something else.

Why are you so excited to join his team?

Falling for a scam doesn't mean you don't have a mind for business.
I'm not a part of the team, just a small time investor.
I think it has the potential to bring in users that aren't even aware of crypto.
Make some addictive mainstream type games in which users can export/import assets.
It's a great idea if executed properly.

The business plan hasn't been released and will better explain/answer a lot of questions that have been asked, in regards to how it will be successful.

I'm not gonna be as nice as Phildo and will just say that you're full of shit. Nice try avoiding to address the xpy.io failure. Matlack and Co were told by many, repeatedly, that trying to rescue XPY is a wasted effort yet he chose to do it and drag a bunch of other lunatics with him. A year later he's now blaming some bad guys (XPY devs, which as it turns out are completely unrelated to Matlack's gang - where was that vital information a year ago?) and wants you to give him more money. I mean - feel free to do that, just let us LOL at the "great idea".

The ION source code has not been released yet, how do you know its similar to any coin out there?

Again, we are only answering to REAL questions, thanks.

How are you going to work around Google Play and iTunes TOS explicitly forbidding third party payments in mobile games?

That's a great question, but where did we specifically say we will be a third party payment processor on the google play or itunes? We are aware of Apple and Google ToS and there are a few ways that we can avoid breaking it.

For example, you are allowed to unify balances between multi web/android/ios apps so a user has one account per all devices and can use his credits/tokens/balances on any of them.

ionomy.com is registered in Singapore, as you may already know, Singapore does not regulate virtual currency at the moment.
Ref: http://www.mas.gov.sg/moneysense/understanding-financial-products/investments/consumer-alerts/virtual-currencies.aspx

How would this impact people from a legal perspective if they had reason to feel they'd been wronged?

Why did you pick Singapore?

This is something you should consult with a local lawyer in your country before you make any investment.

We view Singapore as a good place to launch new cyrptocurrency start up, and we were drawn to it because of go coins success being based out of Singapore as well.

Are all the details, names etc, of the founders of the company/other business entity available to the public for the purpose of legal protection?

All details are publicly available in Singapore just like any other company, ionomy.com does not use any third party agents if that's that you're suggesting.

I'm not suggesting anything, just asking questions...

What name is the company registered under?

I believe Ionomy PTE as per our terms of service https://www.ionomy.com/terms-service

Could you provide me with a better resource than this one, as I tried Ionomy, Ionomy.com, Ionomy PTE & Ionomy PTE Services & it's returning no results

https://www.sgpbusiness.com/search

I am getting someone to look into this for you, will post back once i have a response

This is PoS3 (or SPoS), please read the white paper. It's all fixed block rewards. For both masternodes and regular wallets.

https://ionomy.com/about/whitepaper

Honestly, a lot of us got screwed with the GAW scam. I know it's tempting to say this is just the same thing. But please just read the whitepaper, then each of the things on your list can be discussed individually as to what is right/wrong with them.

How come you're the one here putting up a continuous defense of this, along with a handful of other accounts occasionally posting?

I think someone else expressed the same surprise that the dev tam isn't here answering questions about their new venture and it's being left to former xpy community members at this time

There's quite a few of us here from the community. Answering to constant scam claims is time consuming and soul destroying. The devs themselves are working on launching the new platform (possibly within the next few days) and so they are pretty busy and not many (if any) questions need a dev to respond just yet. All the questions are basic, mostly about GAW.

Slack is the best place to get hold of the Devs / Team directly:

https://slack.ionomy.com/

When you launch a new coin/platform, and you seek to raise funds through an ico, surely you have an obligation to actually engage with the people whose money you are asking for?

I understand that it can be hard work to keep up with when you're trying to be productive, but in the the next few weeks I'll be launching a new store, I'll be on here touting it & I'll expect people to do the right thing and point out any issues we might have missed as we were working on it.  It might take up time, but it'll be worth it, after all, you can't get people involved unless you engage.

Same goes for the devs of this new platform & coin.

We will try to answer any questions/concerns that users might have which is related to ION or ionomy.com and nothing else, so feel free to ask any questions regarding ION/ionomy!

Please provide documentation of ionomy's FinCEN approval as a licensed money services business (MSB).

Why should we believe that Ionomy is NOT a scam when it seems to be nearly a carbon copy of the known paycoin scam and is run by one of the same people - Adam Matlack?

Everyone is right to their own opinion, if you feel that way then there is nothing we can do apart from releasing the wallet and the promises that we have set out and prove you wrong.
I am not sure there is an altcoin out there who have developed mobile games so not sure what you mean by similar...
