Looks like Scam
I would be quite carefull... Im still waiting for my money now two days, they paid just about 30% of the total amount and now there's "problems". They are saying that they will pay fiat conversion instead of refunding remaining btc. Let's see.

Ok, solved. There was some problems, solved after they paid $ through perfectmoney. That was fast.

Should subject line be a little bit different if there's no court documents supporting it.
Maybe just "People Asking for refunds.. Ows me 6500$ "

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 15, 2014, 09:08:06 PM
Who would know the difficulty would be 1000x harder now than last spring.  Even though the btc price increased 6x.
Most informed miners should have known the difficulty would be 1000x more than last spring; this is why so many of us tried to warn newer miners - they just didn't listen and assumed we just wanted the mining to ourselves. The price no one can predict though.

actually that's not true, most "informed" miners were saying this average 20% increase is unsustainable and not realistic, when few others including myself showed the actual calculator using a profitability decline of 0.001 (20%).

the truth is as long as there is money to be made, the hardware will be produced, resulting in sustained difficulty increase.  Only way for difficulty to slow down is if the hardware cost basis becomes unprofitable - and that solely depends on the btc/usd price.  If we have a long period of $350/btc, then yes you will see difficulty slow down as hardware production/sales slows.  But at the current level, there is no end in sight. Especially with all those new comers pumping out hardware in the THs range now.

The current difficulty is only ~59000TH, 20% is 11800TH, that may seemed like a significant hash power in the old days, but with the new 2-3 TH per unit miners from all the manufacturers. It's really not that much.

The only sure way to predict difficulty is looking at btc/usd.

I am also now a big fan of cex.io, their prices have come down to a level that's very competitive/better than physical hardware, without any of the mining risk, and ability to quickly unload at a moment's notice is invaluable. Doubt i will ever buy another physical miner unless there is a 20%+ discount to the cex price.

I have watched cex.io about a week. Price / GHS looks reasonable. Pointed one 1TH miner there and no problems (yet Smiley. Looks like that I will also start buying GHS from there, not anymore own hardware - too expensive / too much headache.
50  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LIGHTNINGASIC SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner; LA1THS, stock ready. on: April 11, 2014, 10:54:00 PM
It looks like the game is on.

http://hashra.com/gridseedblade/

1500 bucks..
the game was on from Apl 10 Evening. Lightningasic announced price for usd1450 bucks, include all accessories and free dhl express.

That's true... just saying the development is interesting. everybody's dropping prices.. Just a couple of days ago these things were 3000 bucks.. 50% drop in less than a week

Yeah, makes me wonder whether the prices will drop even more soon? I don't want to have a miner again which is already impossible to sell without a major loss when it arrives  Undecided

If you wait better prices, you will get them, but you must wait forever - as priced will drop continuosuly in the next months. If you want mine, maybe you should buy? asiabtc is good seller.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is China a long term problem for Bitcoin? on: April 11, 2014, 10:42:11 PM
Some high level officials just missed bitcoin train... whatever happens in short term (monday) BOC will change policy in long term in favour for Bitcoin. They'e innovative, just waiting for things to stabilize. China is not going to lose business.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too much scamming in Bitcoin on: April 11, 2014, 10:35:12 PM
Sure there are scamming, but I think actually not so much. Things just happen with new tech & startups and I would say maybe more disapointments than scams. Things just turn bad because of poor management and too optimistic schedules and / or missing resources.

53  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: April 11, 2014, 01:27:23 PM
I have strange problems:
I have two Coincraft Desk 1TH miners.
Yesterday they dropped both from slush to backup pool.
I tried to reconnect to slush, another miner works fine, but the second one does not send any shares - it worked fine about a week until yesterday. Restart, reset, checked passwords, url etc. but nothing helps. However it mines just fine on Eligius. Very strange.

Sound like the unit have some internal problem? Or is there any recent changes on pool that can cause this?
54  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [850 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + VarDiff on: April 10, 2014, 08:14:33 PM
WTF My miners dropped from slush to backup pool about 10 minutes ago ?!

56  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: April 10, 2014, 07:16:51 PM
This thread is full of all kind of comments, maybe understandably, but just cool down a bit... They deliver as fast as they can. There has been obvisouly many obstacles in production and too optimistic schedules (afterall this is new tech & new company). Also customers such as me have been too optimistic with delivey expectations - greed makes many quite blind for risks Wink Afterall I knew very well that this was a risky investment. Now I take this just a hobby. If you can't wait Im quite sure they will refund after agreed time frame (Im not affiliated - just customer), at least they have done so for many who have asked refund. However I see mining quite nice, so decided to take machines and Im happy with those.

I received my order about a week ago which was #220X from mid oct. Below is the pic of two Desks hashing steady 1TH per unit. I added two extra fans for both, so temp stays steady 44C. Turbo mode needs obvisouly improvements, hopefully new firmware will help with it. Still waiting for CPP unit. It coming later and it's maybe fair to send CPP units a bit later that people can receive their actual orders faster. Just my two cents.

59  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Earth hour. does anyone mining care? on: April 06, 2014, 06:53:53 PM
Solar & wind powered mining is the way to go if you care about these things.
Unfortunately at these prices there's no point to start building... but might be just interesting project even if it covers just a fraction of used electricity.

'Fraid I don't have time to keep up with the official thread, so I'm hoping someone here knows:

Is there any newer firmware for the Desk yet, or is the firmware that the units shipped with the latest available?

Thanks

roy
I received my units two days ago and those came with firmware with the same old problems, i.e. It seems there's not yet newer available.

BTW, thank you for the patch, I will take a look. Wish to get cgiminer shot down when temp exceeds set level.
