based on the last couple of pages I just read I guess things aren't looking so rosy for those who pre ordered some miners recently which is a shame.  I liked what KNC was offering at first but I guess things have changed in the mining game faster then many of us thought it would?

Who would know the difficulty would be 1000x harder now than last spring.  Even though the btc price increased 6x.

I"m guessing not to many people or this thread wouldn't be so busy.  I can't believe the difficulty is so high that just shows there is a serious amount of interest in BTC though if you ask me.

Most informed miners should have known the difficulty would be 1000x more than last spring; this is why so many of us tried to warn newer miners - they just didn't listen and assumed we just wanted the mining to ourselves. The price no one can predict though.

The 'miners' putting 15-20% of the network in their datahall knew how high the difficulty woiuld be, hence not selling us the upgrade modules we needed last year!

The same 'wont mine more than 5% miners' would also have a rough idea wrt BTC price when they're dumping 1000s of coins on a regular basis.... Cunts!

I emailed about swapping dogshit SeptOctober boards for pre-pwned Notvember boards, controller compatibility etc. they auto replied it could take 2 days to respond...

tbh - i tried to request a 'so-called CA' Nevermakeapennybacktune refund but 'outlook' failed to send it twice.... this is the weird sort of shit that make me think i should wait in case they are really planning/capable of 'because we are KnC' bumping 3TH to something actually profitable as well as giving them to us before even 10TH is worthless...

When you say help you unlock do you mean password unlock? I had this problem with one I purchased and I did the reset procedure and I could get in, can't say for sure it reset the password or it was already stock but the seller was under the impression he had changed it..

In any case all firmwares are posted to the support page, all the way back to 0.9.0

I think KNC are not liking all the negative publicity... become assholes and get treated like assholes.   Love it when this happens  

some guy on knc forums got an email he sent me a copy ...saying that he had to stop bashing knc from a forum moderator

the bashing consisted of saying they were doing a gh farm at the determent of getting modules and miners out to us ...pretty tame

so if you are legit at knc and trying to get stuff out the door (like this last fall) such comments about progress are OK in that they are understandable

but if you are NOT trying anymore....and trying to play both ends against the middle ...gh farm and wrap up your hardware stuff...that is no longer understandable

the slow slide to becoming BFL continues imho

of course on the other hand 16.2TH in August for 21k ...this is likely what got KNC all hot and bothered imho

ya, i updated and locked myself out, the hard reset doesnt reset my password.  Im not sure how to open those bin files up, to load them on a sd stick. can you just put the bin file on there and boot it up.  ive flashed this jupiter bout 20 times already.

I just did a hard reset..took a few tries...touchy....but when it takes it asks for a new password...i had version 1.00 and it reverted to 1.00
after the hard restart not .95 which is what I think came with the miner FYI

all i got hope it helps...keep trying the hard reset

er also I tried a different IP on my router then the one used previous to this...not sure if this applies...weird changed IP on me somehow on the
hard reset (unless that was my orig IP can't remember)

Because they got lucky once shooting fish in a barrel and then concluded they were fucking geniuses? Then proceeded to fuck all their existing customers, thinking they would always have new suckers who would buy.

Knobtune is now totally unattractive, except for those going the distance with massive datacentre's in Iceland (i.e. no one).

Now that the btc market has tanked, they are only getting orders in the 100's, rather than 1000's. Like every bunch of "geniuses", when things started to go bad, they decided to invest big. Lot's of advertising and lots of capital investment.

Now they have to break all their products down into smaller and smaller pieces to try to suck in the newbies, BFL style. They are desperately trying to cut costs by selling shit with 90 day warranty (i.e. a warranty suitable for used or refurbished goods) or no warranty at all. That and the "no refunds" policy makes the risks wayyyyy to great for any reasonable investor. KNC don't believe in their products, nor do they want to take any responsibility for them. That should be a massive red flag for anybody thinking about ordering from them.

They have made every classic mistake in the book through greed and ignorance. Their ego's got the better of them.

The market for btc hardware is quite small, but knc figured it was enormous and they could cut the throat of all their existing customers and it wouldn't matter. Well, we'll see how that goes for them.

If the price of BTC stays low for long enough, we'll start to see all these parasites die off.
