those keys are gone

there will only ever be 20M

21M maybe?  Tongue

No, he's saying that Satoshi's stack is effectively out of circulation for good, so 20M.

My bad. Should learn to read and comprehend. Stupid me. Apologies!

A late good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we're more than half way back after yesterday's deep correction/profit-taking... currently $4858USD/$6079CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

AltCash continues to slip... currently $313USD/$391CAD (Coinmarketcap).

While a little consolidation is good, I think it's about time we moved on up to a new ATH.

Go Bitcoin go.
We all know this, anything new?

You, sir, are not exactly getting off on the right foot here.

+1
Jimbo's Canadian morning updates are an institution and very much appreciated.
You must be new here...

Guys, any idea on wtf is this:

It happens from time to time on Bitcoinwisdom. Now it's back to normal though. Is it some kind of bug?

Yes, that is because of Bitcoin.de.

There was a transaction of 0.01 BTC at 07:28:54 @ 5999.41 EUR. Seems like Bitcoinwisdom is just taking the last Prices of Kraken and Bitcoin.de and divides the sum by 2.

You are feeling pretty bold with your lillie thread take over...

'thread take over'? Get over it.

I mean, sure - it's irritating to have to deal with incessant walls-o-text (hint, hint), but it is directly related to the thread topic.

Oh, thanks for that.
But please just stop quoting this idiot. The toast I had this morning was way more intelligent than this fucktard.

I am happy that I sold my BCH at 0.2 and rebought a little more for less BTC at 0.072.
But wtf is happening?
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 14, 2017, 09:12:12 PM
In case anybody is interested...
On Bitfinex I am still lending out 6.22481641BTC @ 0.718600% a day and 0.03884257 BTC @ 0.719400% a day. No idea why. Maybe this/the guy(s) know more than me. Their positions (if used) must be in hell now.
Thoughts?

Lauda being spot on. Cheers, buddy.
49  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 12, 2017, 11:06:26 AM
Drat... I sold the last of once cold stored BTC at €2600, and now we are at €3225...  Undecided Didn't expect the climb after the pump, so did not buy back. And now, waiting for a correction (they always come) before buying back.

Most of you will lose your fortunes on the way to the top just like this. You have a mathematical certitude that bitcoin will go to hundreds of thousands of $ in price

...yet you fucks still get greedy like this.

(stupid bs)

Where have those resistance numbers come from JJG?

His ass. Please stop quoting this donkey I have on ignore for ages. Thank you.

I am mostly reading here. Today a rare post.

I think empowering asked a while ago... Hence, info from me: I am still lending 6.22481641 BTC @ 0.718600 on Bitfinex.
Thank you, idiot. Cheesy

On another note: Whoever hinted me to NEO in this thread... Thank you very much. I bought some, already up, and I think it is a great concept, so I am just hodling it. ETH Killer.

The Thailand discussions were very inspiring. I was in Bangkok and Koh Phangan this year. My first time in Thailand. I will probably move there next year.

Everybody have a great day/night and greetings from Dubai, folks. Smiley

BTC funding on Bitfinex broken. Last transaction around 45 minutes ago.
When I try to submit a lending offer, I get "not enough BTC available in deposit wallet" which is not true.

Also where are my free BTC Cash??

Blocksize was never meant to be some resource that could be controlled by anybody.

Let Bitcoin scale already.

Make Bitcoin Great Again!

Finally, you make one out of three points that makes some sense.

1mb blocksize limits is the current state of bitcoin.. that is correct, and bitcoin was not meant to be easily changed.  Therefore, 1mb blocksize limits seem to be the status quo going forward until there is some kind of convincing evidence and/or argument(s) that allows for it to be adapted in some kind of way, whether that is through seg wit or blocksize increases or any other "scaling" way forward.
What's your angle?

My angle meaning what?

I already stated what I thought, no?

In essence, I agree with any point that the current bitcoin system is established as a secure decentralized immutable way to store and transfer value.  If what bitcoin "is" is undermined by some kind of centralized system or manipulation or FUD that allows for such undermining of bitcoin "as it is", then that would be problematic.

My angle remains that XT, Classic and now BU are either aimed or have effects that are attempting to undermine bitcoin "as is"... ... so we will see how all of that plays out, and whether bitcoin is going to be able to preserve its value in one form or another regarding a secure decentralized and immutable system that allows for the storage and transferring of value
Okay let's remove any possibility of ambiguity then.

Are you against increasing the transfer capacity of the bitcoin network, yes or no? Just yes or no.
no
So why do you want to stay at the current 1 MB? You can't have it both ways.

First of all.  You edited out my answer.
I made your answer concise as I requested and you ignored. Your victim card is revoked. And look, here I am editing you again!

If you don't show respect you do not get respect. Just how things are.

I am just a random user / poster here.
I have logged in a few days back (please see my posting history) after years.
But I did have JayJuanGee on ignore since I had been very active a few years back. For a reason apparently.
Please do not reply to this moron.
Thank you.

No permabulls werent right. They say HODL all the time. That makes them lose much money, because if they start looking at charts and analyze them they will see good moments for selling and buying coins for cheaper.

Permabulls are right. You are not. You fail to see the difference between losing money and making more money than you do.

Plus the risk of really losing when trying to make more. ^^

0.8 BTC were withdrawn from my NitrogenSports account. Not by me. Opened a ticket. Waiting for their reply.
I did not have 2-factor enabled. But as per their recent statement "In a subsequent investigation, our security team also received direct confirmation from Cloudflare that Nitrogen's data was not included in the Cloudbleed HTTPS traffic leak, as suggested by the player. "
I do not want to jump conclusions, but according to the recent incidents there, it does smell fishy...
Let's see...

interested to hear an update for this

Their support was very responsive. Had a long discussion on my ticket. Got almost instant replies.

Now comes the worse part:
They confirmed that no failed login attempts to my account were recorded at the time the withdrawal happened.
They are not willing to provide me the IP address the withdrawal was initiated from.
They are not willing to provide me their address to include in the police report that I will file.

I believe this was an inside job.

I gave them a deadline of 48 hours to refund me of which a little less than 28 hours are left.
After the deadline I will file a police report and instruct my lawyer to sue them. Good luck to both of us.

remarkable market is holding this price like a champ.

Price has absolutely no short term upside at all, so it feels like some whales who got stuck on the wrong side of the ETF trade are propping it up in order to then come in with the flash $4-5 million dump on finex and bitstamp while nobody is looking.

You are so full of shit. Cheesy
But keep it up till my Fiat arrives on Monday... ^^
58  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 11, 2017, 01:32:12 AM
bonkers market looking to go back up to 1200

You are advising the all-in guy with wifey problems to sell, and 2 minutes later you post this?
Before you said that we will see 950 USD by midnight? And then accepted a bet that we will have "<975 by monday 00:00"?
I have a fiat transfer arriving at an exchange only on Monday, too.
But please share the stuff you are smoking. I'll take the buds, not the leaves...

Gold ounce parity does not matter at all.
Why parity to an ounce compared to 1 BTC?
Why not to a Satoshi? Or to a kg of Gold?
Pointless... Smiley

Edit: The only comparison that could make sense (not saying that it does) would be that of good old rpietila who once compared the total supply of BTC with that of Gold. He came up with 300k USD per BTC. I never bothered to confirm his calculation though. In addition the total supply of gold is not fixed. There might be new supplies coming up (new mines on planet earth, some even unannounced; new supplies from outside-world mines; alchemy..).
