42  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we see repeat of 2017 or new trend? on: December 09, 2023, 09:36:09 PM
There are some reasons why I doubt the 2017 trend will be different; Bitcoin was much cheaper at that time than it is now -- $900-$20,000 -- so it was easy for the coin to have an enormous pump all at once. When the last bull run started, it took a long time to pump and many corrections before it reached its peak. A difference from 2017 is that this started before the halving took place. I feel the trend this time is likely going to be like the 2021 with similar regular correction while it climb and no one will be able to know when we get to the peak for weeks untill the dip hard
43  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining in Nigeria on: December 09, 2023, 10:21:47 AM
There is no need to advocate for bitcoin mining right now, not for any country, since it is not as profitable as it should be. There are some factors that make Nigerian mining not to work, first of all, the cost is high, but aside from that, how many people can afford to get a private, steady source of electricity to run the mining equipment? It seems to me that cryptocurrency trade is the most reasonable cryptocurrency strategy in the country, whether it is altcoin, bitcoin, P2P, altcoin development, or local exchanges.
44  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: My crypto news site - cryptotalk.tech on: December 09, 2023, 10:10:49 AM
The interface of the website is very nice, but I think for a money market website you need more busy sites, more cryptocurrency advertising, do some research into new altcoins and conduct interviews. The new startup has a lot of funds, but the intricacies of fraud make it a sensitive zone. You as the website owner are not carrying a signature that includes the website name and link, so the website needs awareness to increase traffic. Get on twitter and other relevant channels to put your project presence there
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Promising Altcoins That Failed? on: December 08, 2023, 09:44:24 PM
It’s really unexpected for some top altcoins always failed Durning bull market but not toper. You can see ton, btc, eth, ada, bnb which best move there roadmap. If a project has many developed day by day then this token price will not Fail so be cool and try to buy toper currency before during bull.
There is a difference between different kinds of coins, and sometimes the way the money moves in bitcoin can have an effect on other areas of the market as well. With the best tokenomics, it takes a percentage of the entire coin market.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Promising Altcoins That Failed? on: December 08, 2023, 10:06:51 AM
I don't like Tron.
It has never been a good Altcoin and is just utter trash.
Now it is rejected en masse and people are selling it off.

Complete fail project.
It should not have failed, the coin has a good use case and a good prospect. With exchanges, it should compete with other coins, but the developer is a young man without focus, who is buying into other projects with Tron's money. Binance is also one of his biggest investments and he watched his own project sink. The importance of finding out about a project developer's experience before investing cannot be overstated. While Ethereum developer was also a young man when he started, he is now much more focused and ambitious, and it's also important to look for projects that have leadership but tend to be more decentralized.
47  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: December 08, 2023, 01:11:04 AM
Do people have plans towards halving? what can be important around the halving is the pricing out around the period and other reaction of other coin, there is high posibility that the focus will shift on bitcoin at the point that many altcoins will drop massively, It will also a good time to buy. This time is usually an extended and frustrating period for holder but experience will help some buy more and hold. Fortunately is not the time to sell bitcoin. I will also be on the lookout for who will replace Elon Musk or will he come back again. Who will be the new influencer in this market?
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 07, 2023, 06:07:19 PM
I think it's time for Manchester City to make changes in their defence. In their last four games, they have conceded 10 goals despite investing so much in it. It is possible that their chances will get slimmer with the goals conceded, especially if it continues, even if they continue to score goals like they have been

Despite conceding a lot of goals in their last four games, Manchester City remains one of the best teams in the Premier League this season. I believe it won't matter much if they are already winning most of their matches by two or more goals, which will compensate for the goals conceded by their goalkeeper. They can still make adjustments to the defence positions, but I don't think that will prevent them from winning their games and maintaining their lead in the Premier League title race.
There is no permanent champion in football, and I believe that you will start seeing it from my perspective. It seems the fans have forgotten everything they gained from Guardiola's era and they are now calling for his head or for him to leave. There will be a lot of worry on the coach's mind right now, since all the expensive defenders in the world are in the team. In terms of price and experience, no team in the world can match Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones. Right now, the team will have a very difficult time dealing with the challenges
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Do brands that take sides on divisive issues lose market share? on: December 07, 2023, 05:51:51 PM
Every producer must be very careful when it comes to their marketing strategy in a very competitive market. A brand manager must know how to handle the target market and gain their trust. It is not easy to control damage when a mistake is made in the branding, because others are already waiting for the opportunity, they are likely to spread it through the press that damage control might spread, is difficult to control, and takes a long time to recover. Sentiment around gender, religion, ageism, race, and politics is one of the most dangerous areas for branding
50  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will exceed the $100k barrier before 2025 on: December 06, 2023, 05:50:47 PM
My prediction for 2025 will be 120K to 150K and that's more conservative value that bitcoin could reach based on my technical analysis so definitely it is possible to see over $150K too but as I said I just want to keep my expectation lower and realistic so that I won't be affected it doesn't reach there.

By the way, this thread belongs to the speculation board.
Managing this market to reach 100k and above will be very expensive, which is why the market should begin going gradually now to hit the price and maintain the tokenomic for scarcity. I believe the dump will be slow because it will be hard to lose 20k on bitcoin
51  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: House rents frustrating while solutions are ignored on: December 05, 2023, 11:19:26 PM

When you compare house rent in Nigeria with other countries, you also have to compare the difference in minimum wage. The minimum wage in Canada is around $16/hr. In UK around $10/hr. Meanwhile here in Nigeria minimum wage is 30k in naira for a whole month. So our monthly minimum wage is just about 2 hrs wage in Canada.

That is what I addressed if you read through what I wrote carefully. A system that rewards labour adequately should be provided by the government
52  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: House rents frustrating while solutions are ignored on: December 05, 2023, 11:47:00 AM
Solution opinion to the situation
The government could play and help minimize this hiking rents issues simply my issuing mandatory orders on every landlords and give them a specific range of charges they are expected to rent their house and anyone violating the rules must be penalized and every landlords must issues rentage receipts to every of its tenants because the amount stated in the receipt would be used to justify any of the reported landlords if overcharging their house occupants and there should be an active functioning phone number that is to be reached and report any forms of the landlords.

This is not the solution to this kind of challenges, firstly i don't think house rent is that unaffordable in Nigeria to that extent except you don't go for your size, this also depends on the kind of location or city you are, even in advance countries, there's no uniformity in house rent pay rate, the only exception are the ones under the government schemes, but each individual has the right to place any amount he feels comfortable with for his rent charges, the landlords built their houses themselves and not the government, so they can make demands on any rate they feel satisfied with.
House rent in Nigeria is one of the cheapest in the world if compared especially to the western world. The amount mentioned at 130k is less than 200 dollars for a room in a year, Imagine. The cost of building the same house is high and owners are not likely to breakeven on the investement in 30 years, so my conclusion is the purchasing capacity of Nigerians in low. Let everyone including students have abillity to work even just 5 hours daily and earn 50k in a month, it wont be difficult to pay the 130k at the end of the year.

55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure on: December 03, 2023, 07:00:52 PM
Cristiano Ronaldo has been fined one billion dollars not only for his nft fail but he must have other reasons for this legal penalty. The reason for this case is that Cristiano Ronaldo is the special ambassador of the Binance Centralized Exchange. Had CZ not changed ownership of Binance Exchange, Binance Exchange would have suffered even greater losses. However, the scope of this case of Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be estimated so far, but his case will be heard soon.
The stepping down of CZ does not make him totally isolated from the exchange. In addition to owning majority of the shares in the company, he will remain a source of consultation for the company. This is for the benefit of the company as well as to handle the alignment and investigation of the USA government that is coming up in the next year. As we have seen before, it is more of a money game, they want a share of his profits.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure on: December 02, 2023, 11:45:57 PM
I want to believe Ronaldo does not know enough about this space to lead a token into the market and allow some people to mess it up. Timing is also important, if you get into this space when the bull market is ripe, your coin might only join the coins going down in the bear market. I also feel 1 billion is over valuation for any NFTs project, then they cant really proof the use case of the token, it is just hype and they wanted to use Ronaldo and Binance to ride the hype. It might be disspointing that the coin might do well soon,There are chances big percentage of the coin might have been bought back like Elon Musk did with the doge they can start pumping hard very soon.
57  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: You done recive your own on: December 02, 2023, 07:25:46 PM

I was told that some people have collected theirs. Let me repeat myself again, I was told. I have not seen anyone close to me directly that received anything.

I have not filled any form to be eligible for it.

Make more research, but this is the form one of my relatives gave me some weeks ago for it: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSciS7DW25pLiZaz-y_YhUAGZUoKM-V2-Whi2r46NTMdya5gsw/viewform?usp=sharing

This are also included on the WhatsApp message that I got it from:

Is there anywhere else we can verify this link? It would be helpful if you could provide me with a link to a government website so I can be sure I am not sending my details to the wrong person. Everyone should have the right to earn the 25k
58  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many traders will lose soon a lot the ftx 2.0 is ready on: December 02, 2023, 05:52:06 PM
There is another ftx 2.0 sbm
So many investors will lose a lot money from USA and Canada becouse they will trust those who they should't.
I dont tell you the name but its not BINANCE binance is safe.
Im still surprised how the robbery will be happening in the middle of the day like it was with FTX.

You're making people afraid to use exchanges, but it's no longer bothering me. It's not surprising to me that an exchange like ftx would exist. To be honest, you should take care of your money and be accountable for it, especially if you put it in exchanges. All exchanges, including the most reputable, Binance, are vulnerable to becoming an ftx 2.0 since it is an centralized exchange that may be shut down at any time. It is preferable to store your funds in your personal wallet, where you can keep your key. Put only a portion of your funds you intend to trade in exchange.
Over the years, Binance has maintained a good track record and good management. It is one of the exchanges that spends so much on security that they have enough funds to deal with any sudden incident. I don't think they can be like FTX. A lot of backup is provided by Binance since it manages so many exchanges and projects. However, I think funds should be moved out of exchanges after we noticed that the bull market might be over.
59  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is my plan legal? Managing the account of a dead person on: December 02, 2023, 05:44:24 PM
For countries with strong enforcement against cryptocurrency traders, how likely is it to stay anonymous holding altcoins in wallets and trading them only on decentralized exchanges? For immigrants who will be staying in some of these countries for a short time, how difficult can it be to deal with the law while in the country for a short period of time, especially within a year?
60  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 01, 2023, 01:24:00 PM
If you ask me I will say only buy Bitcoin but I see why latecomers are attracted elsewhere, there are other cryptocurrencies with unique features & potential for large growth. Diversification is key for some people, It is advisable to research & understand the potential of different cryptocurrencies considering factors such as technology, adoption & market trends. Each cryptocurrency offers different opportunities & risks so a balanced investment strategy that includes a mix of cryptocurrencies may be more beneficial for some in the long run.
I think there are a lot of parallels when people who have been in the bitcoin space for a long time, when asked, the answer is bitcoin.
But I also can't blame beginners for choosing alternative coins, because it is undeniable that many of them recognize bitcoin from alternative coins along the way. As happened to my friend, yes he came to me and asked further about bitcoin, after he knew other coins, even scam coins. I explained according to my ability and provided sources about bitcoin, and in the end he also preferred bitcoin after he was previously skeptical about bitcoin because of his previous experience.
There are only a few bitcoin maximalists who are able to boast that they have never invested in any other cryptocurrency. In the past, I had this argument and was disappointed with the names that came up. I don't want to be swayed by this narrative in the future. As far as cryptocurrency's risk management is concerned, Bitcoin has the best, and I recommend a good percentage in one's portfolio towards the bull market, but diversification will help test one's risk tolerance, but the chances of reward are usually good if it works out well.
