MEC doesn't seem to be updating.
Bump. Still not updating. Marketcap shows $327K but it's at $390K. It's not just MEC either. List of all coins not working as of this time: Megacoin Anoncoin Memecoin Xencoin Alphacoin Luckycoin Krugercoin EZcoin Globalcoin Doubloons Spots Casinocoin Emerald Nibble Stablecoin Double Bump.. The poor site is not updating.. Perhaps the cron job failed?

You weren't registered on this forum for 2 months after MEC launched... Spare me the bullshit. You're new to the crypto game. MEC had a very shady launch and anyone around during that time period can attest to that.
Do note that you can, by all means, make short term profits on this coin. But if you are buying and planning on holding for a long period of time, you are going to get burned.
I disagree with that statement. I was there. For whatever reason. You hate MEC. We get it.

hey megacoiners,
we should work to create/develop both the software and the hardware for a debit card (or thumb drive) MΣC transaction authorizer machine to be used for retail stores everywhere.
a machine specifically designed to run a specific operating system (to which access is cryptographically protected from being hacked) tailored to the megacoin network and the secure access of portable password-protected wallets. this machine will have a keyboard interface and a built-in card/drive reader, and have an internet connection limited to ONLY connecting to the MΣC network.
the retailer owns and controls the machine, and customers bring their wallet debit card/drive to make a payment to the retailer.
the retailer inputs the charge amount (MΣC).
the customer connects/swipes his wallet debit card/drive, granting the machine access to his wallet.
the machine then automatically opens the customer's wallet, sets up a megacoin transaction of the charge amount from that wallet to the retailer's wallet, and displays a conformation screen for the customer to accept.
the customer visually verifies the charge amount.
the customer is prompted to type in his wallet password.
the machine verifies that the transaction was successful. (afterward, the machine DOES NOT store the customer's wallet information or password.)
it's important that this be a specific machine that will ONLY access wallet files, and is impossible to tamper or hack. the software must be trustworthy open-source, and would self-destruct if it's ever altered. and any fraudulent fake machine would need to be denied access to the network.
how can we make this happen?
Most retailers wont play the crypto game unless they can immediately exchange the crypto for fiat. before hardware there must be a USD-MEC exchange. its a terrible idea to have a system with direct access to peoples wallets. it would be better to have to put the coins in the exchange which would then be able to make payments on your behalf. This way you only stand to loose whatever coins you put in the exchange if or when it gets hacked. No system is 100% secure when its on the internet. Its just the way life is.

Will not sell MEC, not even for a PIZZA? Just think, someday pizza for MEC will be an every day occurrence. Shhh! dont jinx it. Lol, maybe uMEC payments for Pizza. That was a $90.00 pizza today and a 500,000.00 pizza soon We just need to get that payment processing up and running so people can start adopting MEC payments easy. coinotron like service for MEC.

I buy and I hold. Im not selling nor am I dumping. I could filll every single buy order down to nothing. But im not an idiot to sell at these prices. Not when the potential of MEC hitting .01 could happen in the next couple years.

Trying to solo mine. Have the latest wallet setup and running on port 7950. I have. Number of remote computers mining. Computer wallet is on is behind NAT and port 7950 routed to it.
I have two computer solo mining both gpus and CPU. Have one other CPU mining. Other computer can't connect but ping the URL. They just fail connecting and exit in cgminer. Thoughts what's up here? Can mine all day against a pool on all computers.
Thanks.
JR
Cant mine you solo? Must set IP megacoin.conf in. Easier might be to stick to pool mining.

Ya, I mentioned pizza hoping you'd catch that. Pizza is always the key to a successful crypto. It's all your fault that people are hoarding MEC MMMM... Yummy Pizzza!! Love to hear stories of people getting out of LTC to get on the MEC train. Wonder when BTC-E will get some MEC. Although I understand that they dont list coins unless there is payola.

All the magic happened after the pizza.. Just remember.

MegaCoin seems to be steadily plowing other coins out of the way...
After seeing this one, I was going to call Megacoin the Predator of coins. But thought better of it. Forget I said anything. There are a couple ways of looking at that, the coin that feeds the rest too the wolves. Rule #4 Cardio.

considering market caps, MEC should really be around $1.50 each. Perhaps more. Anyone who would be selling now will be crying later. Its like when I could have bought BTC at .05 each. Not much sell pressure yet. Everyone knows this coin is golden.

Well its the weekend, bout time we heard some soothing words from Dr Kim.

I was just reading that report just moments ago. Things are starting to come apart.

Depends on the costs. It seems one coin is going the full media release/hype route. Overall it wouldn't be a bad thing to get some attention on MEC.
Media Releases pointing to all the benefits of MEC in a non technical manner. Professional video like "we use coins" to promote Mec

|
|
obviously Team Megacoin needs to organize media releases.

Boy howdy...this could be a game changer if legit
unless it is a asic device, it wont be a game changer for those who know nothing about chip design, First FPGA, then to hard silicon. FPGA allows you to work the bugs out of your design before you dump 25K to have it masked in silicon. 2nd off, Scrypt is completely possible to build an ASIC for. math is what computers do best. Scrypt just requires some external ram. big deal. ram is cheap. I dont doubt the authenticity of this. there are a couple other people working on fpga scrypt machines. They just arent posting their work here for kudos and warm pats on the back.

No kidding, ever notice how the figures dont match reality? Prices go up, yet "officially" its just a little bit of inflation. Lying sacks of shit.
Notice how the core inflation numbers don't include food, fuel, or other necessities? As long as the stock market keeps rising, everything is okay... Right? Wish I could invest my 401k in Megacoin. Might be worth the early withdrawal fees. Remember MFG, segregated client accounts are no longer safe. No doubt! I dont have the luxury of a 401, I have to figure out what Im going to do in my retirement days by myself. Im pretty sure that social security check wont be there, and even if it is. I doubt it will buy a jug of milk by that time.

Its not going to last 20 years. The feds are locked into QE Forever. if they stop the economy will crash much sooner. In the meantime, the parabolic curve of inflation will start to hit.

Interesting topic. The favorite coins seems to be highly related to the biggest bag of the person holding them. With so many coins out there there are really only a couple which have any true innovation in software and developer skills to push them to the next big coin.

Lord have mercy.. Definitely save some for that
