41  Other / Politics & Society / Can tribalism encourage one world currency on: February 20, 2023, 08:08:07 PM
We have different cultures, tribes, race, ethnicity, policy, environments, climates, way of life and thinking as well as many other diverse factors that make every human race slightly different in the way of life and co-operation. It is agreed that civilisation have tried its own might to unite the human race but yet there exist differences and limitations.

The aim of this thread is to find out if the entire world can resolve into using one currency with the diversity in lifelyhood we face as humans. Can the world ever come to such compromise if they had the opportunity to?
42  Other / Politics & Society / Hunger and insecurity on: February 15, 2023, 07:20:13 AM
There is this saying a hungry man is an angry man. There might be other factors that contribute to insecurity in our society but all revolves around hunger. When one is hungry the can do the unthinkable just for survival. It is also proven that people tend to fall for peer pressure, environmental and societal pressure more when the cannot afford their basic amenities.

One can endure bad governance, unemployment and inflation but when it comes to hunger one can engage in diverse criminal act just to survive. Out of the numerous factors that can push people into criminal acts hunger has the highest reasons. Everyone wants to survive in a society where hunger persist and it is either done by a trick or by crook or by a legal way.
43  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin a coin perfect for a society on: February 13, 2023, 07:39:22 PM
If the electrical grid goes down, or if the Internet goes down, Bitcoin and banks are useless. But, if you have cash in hand, you can continue to live among the local merchants for a while.

Cool
And has it stands energy distribution is getting even better every day  and the internet keeps been upgraded every passing day. Lots and lots of research done to keep this two in perpetual existence which means Bitcoin will forever remain valid. As for cash many policies are been put in place to gradually send cash into extinction. It is either Bitcoin or we chose financial slavery
44  Other / Politics & Society / Bitcoin a coin perfect for a society on: February 13, 2023, 05:52:54 PM
While I sat on my couch thinking about how Bitcoin can help the society solve the issues of financial insecurity and poor money printing system. I also realised that for Bitcoin to remain relevant it need to be recognised by the society not even the government; if it must serve as a legal tender and a global store of value.

It could be said many individuals both Bitcoin enthusiasts and less Bitcoin minded individuals even the so called government who tries to ban Bitcoin have adopted Bitcoin in their various capacities making use of the coin at their various interest both holders, traders, exchangers and users alike. So far political hindrances has built a bridge in the free use of Bitcoin across many nations, while some nations have free access to this unique digital asset some nations are saddled with restrictions.

In all the most exciting thing is that Bitcoin is made for humanity to have freedom at last from selfishly regulated policies. The highest the government of various nations can do is set restrictions on Bitcoin but since it cannot be outrightly banned from the surface of the earth the society at large is still at the highest advantage.

It will only take every enthusiast of Bitcoin to tell their neighbours who know nothing about Bitcoin its benefit and advantage and also remind those who are learned about Bitcoin that it has come to stay. It might not be the next globally accepted currency but someday it might work hand in hand with other payment gateways to make our spending more secure and decentralised. It has already begun but with time it will spread more like wild fire.

46  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Looking forward to Asic mining journey on: December 17, 2022, 10:40:05 AM
So the risk of a faulty Asic miner is always present? Thanks @FP91G, by the way is it that hard to repair an Asic miner? I did some research yesterday online and I found out that some parts are switchable, like Complete board, Complete PSU etc

Is there any stores that sell Asic parts where someone can just easily order for faulty part?
You can engage in modular repair when you have at least 15 ASICs and the price of the module and the price of its repair are approximately the same. And how many modern ASICs can you buy for $15,000?
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-s19-xp-140th
For example, you buy 3 ASICs, and you have to wait for 2 of them to break, and halving in about 15 months.
That is quite expensive. If the price of the module is approximately the same as its repair can't there be any improvised module that are compatible?. And how on earth can a single miner own 15 ASICs it will take almost an entire lifetime of mining. Mining will be challenging for someone in far away Africa because the will limitations of ASIC parts and it mean spending more on getting more ASIC miners to serve as backup incase of breakdown.
47  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone posted here about our Project then sabotage us to give him money on: December 17, 2022, 09:44:14 AM
I yet to read from gondel but it seems there is no forth defence coming from the user or maybe the user is yet to know about the thread. I want to be conservative with my opinion until his side of the story surfaces maybe he has some other information we might not have seen in his own end. But if he fails to show up then it is assumed the user is a troll and manipulative been who go about blackmailing companies and vanishing their reputations. I wait before dropping my opinion.

Question is how many newbie accounts or even accounts in altcoin sections know how merit and rank works. His story seems to be a natural story. I still do not understand how 4chan or even Reddit works. If I do anything which is not a good practice in their community but someone or bunch of users start calling me abuser, scammer, shady; do you think I will not lose my mind and even eventually I will tell them fuck off MFs; I am not going to spend a single time with you at all.

We are making the forum too difficult for the people who do not understand how the forum works. When someday the forum will lose traffic, people all over will spread negative experience about us then we will understand what we have done.

This is one of the reason I do not like those so called scam busters who are always looking for others mistakes and accusing account left and right. They are doing no favour for the community but building their own accounts to earn from the signature campaigns and may be when they get a good opportunity to scam a lender or anyone else, they will just do it before abandoned the account.
The best reply I have read lately. Scam busters are so negligent about helping newbies grow all the think about is how the can farm their accounts through busting up accounts. No one learnt about the forum in one day. Some were lucky to have friends who stood as guidance till they found their feet, so many are solo learners. The pass through the stress of reading and understanding all the jargons on the forum all by theirselves. The reason some newbies switch to scam when the heat and frustrations starts knocking and sometimes the target accounts with high profiles.

If coldice had lavished 34 merits on HunnyFinance and there is no evidence to link the two accounts together then HunnyFinance should be judged based on his story. Some times its not good to jump into tagging users scam even when they haven't done anything in that regards. Everyone deserves a head start.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I failed to notice this all along on: December 12, 2022, 11:01:37 AM
No one claims to be an expert at altcoin investment those who walked away with good profit were only lucky with no technical proficiency attached. Before vesting on a token, it is safer to know the marketing strength of the project because sometimes after ICO or IDO the project keep depreciating because there are no demand to push price up and so when those coins get unlocked the value keep reducing and some either remains static or crashes out completely.

Investing in crypto requires collaborative research. I have this feeling from my few experience with Altcoin that no one person can make a 100% accurate research and findings on how best to tackle the numerous coins listed on various trading platforms. Some are bunch of traps others are for early birds. It is safer in a duo.
52  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine a crypto world without VCs on: December 10, 2022, 06:07:53 PM
Crypto start ups can't survive without them. It is a safe way of funding and since the outside investor is only taking up shares from the company for a limited period of time it can be a way to get guidance and consultations as well as decision making and financial management. The money invested in this new crypto. projects could come in the form of ICOs. Venture capital funds cannot be done without in crypto they are very important for start-ups.
53  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALRET! hoo.com Scammed and deleted Their website 😭 on: December 10, 2022, 05:53:59 PM
All their social media handle has been inactive as well. This is a strong red flag for centralised exchanges and more will follow suit. Hoo has been inactive since July keeping their users in total suspense about their funds then woke up to delete their website. With the number of registered customers amounting to over 1.2 million with claims that over 60% are foreigners from Brazil, Russia and others. Big exchanges are crashing an alarm to be wary of centralise exchanges because more will crash as the bear market persists.

Sometimes its is good to give time a chance. Congratulations Sceptical Chymist this really Christmas present just like @NeuroticFish responded. The additional merit allocation will also be granted seen how contributive Sceptical Chymist has been to the growth of the forum.

As for the Nigerian Board we believe theymos is seriously making plans to seeing he allocate a board to Nigerians. Every good thing takes time. It been long since  Sceptical Chymist made the appeal and here his first request is been granted awaiting the second. So we too we wait till it gets to our turn I strongly believe thymos has Nigerians at heart.
56  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: December 09, 2022, 09:07:38 AM
It depends on the nature of job in question. People work for different reasons, it could be to gather experience that will be enough to start up a personal business or to raise funds to venture into a dream carrier. Some jobs can be a good building block for something that will yield good rewards in the future.

If there are no days of humility where we have to work for people there might be no experience to run personal businesses and no means to source for funds to start up and once this two aren't meet it will be impossible to invest. Every great thing has a little beginning. But the sole aim of every hustle is to ensure we keep a structure that keeps money flowing even at old age which is can't be neglected.
57  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Don't Connect Your Metamask With This Scam Site on: December 09, 2022, 08:51:56 AM
This is a very cheap scam. How will a random user do airdrop. It can't be said a project is been promoted, in which one still have to do research about the project visiting their official sites and Social Media handle or track them on portfolio trackers to see how genuine the claimed airdrop is. A reliable airdrop promotes a project not just a random distribution of funds. Just like the very first introduced in 2014 that promoted Auroracoin. This is one of the cheapest scam I have ever encountered.
58  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xBit.com Coming back to Bitcointalk, Solving all the issues. on: December 09, 2022, 08:29:20 AM
Following the numerous alligations on 1xbit it is best the pause all existing campaigns and clear off the allegations levelled against them. At first I thought it was a mere case of just two or three users but it seems the list of those affected by the scam site keeps increasing. There is no coming back without first solving all issues from the very start till the current allegations.  There are several cases of confiscated accounts, if the intent is to solve issues we should start getting feed back from those who have made reports that the have been able to access their funds.  Even if the chose to withdraw everything from the bookie endurance should just find full expression because the affected accounts have had tough time dealing with their accounts been consficated.

NEWS UPDATE: House of reps orders CBN to halt new cash withdrawal limit

Following the announcement wey CBN make, say dem wan limit the withdrawal of cash to N20,000 daily and N100,000 weeky for individuals and N100,000 daily and N500,000 weekly for organisations wey suppose take place on 9 Jan 2023. 60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular on: December 08, 2022, 09:00:13 PM
And if it eventually plunges to $5000 what difference does it make. We have had the worst plunge Since November 2021 when it gradually dropped from its ATHs if it keeps falling we keep buying, the fact remains the bear will not have the season for ever. Even if it keeps falling it will never go into extinction. The banks are only scared of how much control Bitcoin owners have over their coins. CNBC should know that  we are unapologetically Bitcoin buyers if it keeps falling we keep buying. We will definitely get to the moon again.

But I wonder why the banks are so worried about Bitcoin. The economy has made many withdraw their Bitcoin holding to support their physical business amid the high inflation rate. If there was anyone to raise alarm it should be the Bitcoin community but we have learnt patience and holding till the market becomes favourable again.
