41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 30, 2017, 06:44:44 AM
Alts have suddenly reversed their trend before August 1 split. Should I still keep holding on to my BTC or go out all on ALTS?

Your in the Bitcoin Cash thread for a reason, free coins Cheesy In the next few months you will have to decide what side of the fence you will be on, you can't ride the wire lol

Free coins doesn't mean btc + bcc will be a better investment than in other altcoins. Personally I would suggest a split between both bitcoin and various alts and sell the bcc as soon as you get it.

It is not even could be considered as "free coins", the price of bitcoin is going to be split between bitcoin cash and the regular bitcoin, so you are actually not getting anything, just having your bitcoin being splitted into two different cryptocurrencies

As a bitcoin holder I am not so happy about that

Well its not really a split its a copy of the existing bitcoin blockchain so yes it is free coins.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After August 1st status of bitcoin in pending order BCC BONUS on: July 30, 2017, 06:42:45 AM
My Question is if their are bitcoins in exchange which are supporting BCC but the coins are in orders means i have placed buy order in low rate and all my bitcoins are their and in available it shows zero.

Then will i be eligible to get the bonus coins - BCC or it should be in available bitcoins status.

Unless your coins are sold before they credit them you should still get your free BCC. Just make sure you are using a reputable exchange.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising ICOs upcoming? on: July 30, 2017, 06:39:33 AM
Shadowtoken seems to be the most popular one that is going around lately. They are basically selling a game that is already developed and has had success for years.

Look it up and don't take anyone's word for which is the best ICO, looking for inspiration here is fine but please do your own research after that.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e.com down ! Police detains the owner . on: July 30, 2017, 06:37:13 AM
If BTCe have secured their coins properly it should be hard for the FEDs to get their hands on the coins.

And it would also make it near impossible for users to get their coins back, if the site is shut down there is no reason for them to honor their debts to people who used their platform.

In my opinion the FEDs are more likely to pay back users money than the owner is at this point.

46  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Coinmarketcap on: July 30, 2017, 06:22:59 AM
I think the numbers for ethereum and bitcoin are plausible but the numbers for those below are not so much. I think the gap in market cap between 2nd and 3rd place will be much smaller than over 10x, and I don't think litecoin will be in the top 10 anymore.

I like where you are going with the predictions though and they are reasonable when you consider how much the market has already gone up over the past year.
47  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SEC and the future of ICOs on: July 30, 2017, 06:20:26 AM
IMO if you are US citizen, most safest way is to NOT invest in any ICO. And being part of ICO is completely out of boundaries.

If you are not US citizen, you could invest in as many ICOs as you want. But if you are part of ICO team, being very very careful if you want to visit US. Especially if the ICO colledted a lot of money.

Most good ICOs already have a disclaimer that US investors are not allowed to invest and those that don't are stupid because putting the disclaimer doesn't stop US citizens from investing anyway but protects the ICO team legally.

US citizens also have nothing to fear from investing as the SEC isn't going to go after the investors, they are going to go after the companies themselves.

It isn't much different from a disclaimer saying invest at your own risk.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: July 30, 2017, 06:17:28 AM
You don't need bitcoin to teach anyone about saving, it isn't much different from saving in fiat using other forms of investments like shares in a company or bonds. The only difference is that bitcoin is much more volatile.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if we die? on: July 30, 2017, 06:14:53 AM
A huge portion of bitcoins are already thought to be lost, not necessary from someone dying but from people losing their private keys. If you held your bitcoin on an exchange though it is possible for family members to retrieve it from them, but short of that people have to either make some form of backup for others to retrieve them in the event of death or more coins will be lost.

It is actually highly likely that more coins are going lost than there are that are currently getting created and if not it will happen eventually and bitcoin will truly be deflationary.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to sell some stakes of one of my websites on: July 30, 2017, 06:11:41 AM
I have sent website address in PM

I would definately publish all the supporting information if i launch the sale. I need to know how can i do this.

I would say a business like this is mostly done offline rather than going through the rigour of token creation which might not even raise that amount you are looking into, because of the paucity of funds that might affect the awareness, then I suggest you go the route of venture capitalist as in individual or individuals who will put the money down for an exchange of ownership like you promised here but it has to be done physically and binded by enforceable agreement with that, you save the stress of getting strangers to trust you which is not cheap around here.

you are right, I have already tried that, but buyers need 100% share of the website. I didn't find anyone to buy 10% of it. so i was advised that i can come here. Now i understand the idea and type of business i am trying is not possible here.

The only way it would be possible is if you have a trusted escrow to take it over and give you 90% and 10% to your investors.

It still isn't trust proof but it could potentially work that way, otherwise no one is going to trust you on your word.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COEVAL Token on: July 30, 2017, 06:09:21 AM
Anyone know how this token was initially distributed?
Is it true that it was first listed on the waves decentralized exchange for .01 BTC?

I'm not sure about the price but they were indeed distributed by listing them on the waves DEX

They also give a good idea as to the market value of the monkeycapital tokens.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RECOIN - The latest SCAM Altcoin Warning!!! Please Read!!! on: July 30, 2017, 05:54:59 AM
It doesn't sound much different than most altcoins to be honest but thank you for your assessment, if it is as obvious as you say I'm sure many others will notice it too.
53  Economy / Economics / Re: The $1 Million Dollar Bitcoin on: July 29, 2017, 08:00:53 PM
This recent breakout took the marketcap to 100B, rather easily and in an unexpectedly short amount of time.

For it to go from 100B to 1Trillion doesn't even seem that far fetched anymore.

Here's a few thoughts, what if:

* Smaller countries have bold leaders that decide to heavily go into BTC and other small/mid sized countries start to do the same.

* Smaller banks (or even central) start to hoard BTC (probably already happens on the low)

* Pairs start popping up for crypto on all traditional exchanges

* Billionaires start to notice the frenzy and play the markets (already happening)

* The Elite start to hoard (aka Rothschild's recent purchase)

* Compared to some markets out there, 100B is tiny.

1M per bitcoin seems as crazy today, as $1 did when it was worth a fraction of a penny, then when $1000 did when it was on par with the dollar..

$1000 was never crazy for a long term goal, it was only crazy to think it would shoot from 1 to 1000 in the space of a couple years. Right now $1M is crazy no matter what time horizon you look at, bitcoin doesn't have that much going for it or anything that would give it reason to have a marketcap of a trillion dollars.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: July 29, 2017, 07:58:03 PM
I have some GAME stored on a paper wallet.
Is there a faster option to move them or do I need to
Download the wallet?  Huh

I believe you need to download the wallet. It's not a difficult thing to do though.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So much bad news. When will it end ? on: July 29, 2017, 07:55:11 PM
It has been a negative week in the Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency sector. So much bad news in such a short space of time. Its almost as if the universe wants to teach Bitcoin a lesson. Heres hoping we move past this stage without entering a full blown bear market for another 3 years.

dont worry , it will be bounce back after tf is that ? segwit/hardfork things , yeah i believe the price will be back again soon, besides btc always going through massive dump and in fact  it always stable on 2000ish , unlike ethereum who always goes down insanely after death of vitalik buterin rumor , just cant wait for this segwit end and everything will get back to normal

Yes, After the segwit we might see the price of bitcoin on the moon. Theres a lot of fuds for bitcoin but still it managed to be hold on 2000usd. a great support for bitcoin and I know that from august 1 BIP91 will be activated so the price might go up and also for the alts.

Yeah even with bitcoin cash I don't see any bad news on the horizon for bitcoin. Considering its survived all the FUD and panic just fine imagine how much it will go up once that FUD is gone.

And also imagine the increase in usage with fees greatly reduced now. I just don't see why anyone would be bearish these days unless they are trying to manipulate the market.
56  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fear Of August 1st on: July 29, 2017, 07:52:44 PM
they want to make you fear.
never monitor market these days. just hold and wait to 2 August.
those whales want to take your coins. don't give them.

More likely prices will shoot up, everyone crying panic and selling or shorting bitcoin in wait for August has gotten completely rekt.
57  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any Predictions for Bitcoin 1 August on: July 29, 2017, 07:49:59 PM
I don't know what will happen on August 1. I am so worried. But I think, nothing will happen danger. After August 1 everything will fine again. And every coin will pump so high. I hope Bitcoin will reach near about $5k.
But everybody saying that On August 1 something will happen badly. So, I have invested all of my Bitcoin on Altcoin. After August 1 I will hold Bitcoin again.

Altcoins won't save you if bitcoin crashes, it will only increase your losses.

Anyway I don't buy it that anything bad will happen, more likely bitcoin will go up a lot, $5k is a stretch but certainly $4k is possible within the month of August.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: July 29, 2017, 07:41:35 PM
will ripple ever gonna pump again?like ever?
Of course it will pump again in the coming months. Its the only crypto currency which the banks has managed to come to terms with. Expect another pumpwhen some other banks join the network.

do you know how big this is?

WORLDLINK JOINS RIPPLE’S XRP LEDGER
http://www.worldlink-us.com/ripple.html

Quote
Mathew Pulickel, SVP of Emerging Technology at WorldLink, said: "We believe Ripple's network will revolutionize commerce in the future and the way our customers do business. That's why we have chosen to run a validator node on the XRP Ledger. In the same way that communication and document sharing dramatically improved with email, Ripple and the digital asset XRP will have an equally impactful effect on the time and cost associated with cross-border payments."

It's not really that big they are only acting as a validator and haven't committed any funds to actually buying up XRP. What is really needed for ripple is for a major institution to publicly state they are buying up XRP or that they already have.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 29, 2017, 07:39:29 PM
my wallet is blockchain.info
do i get bitcoin cash?

You are not going to get bitcoin cash as far as I know.
You will need to use a wallet that allows you to get an access to the private keys, once you do it, then even if your wallet won't support the Bitcoin cash, you will still be able to export the private key and transfer the bitcoin cash.

Since when did blockchain info stop giving access to private keys? In the past you were always able to access them in whichever format you decided. It may have changed though, and i cant currently check.

They still give you private keys and that is all you will need to gain access to your free bitcoin cash.
60  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 29, 2017, 07:32:18 PM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
We have to admit that gold has been used for centuries as an investment and it has gained trust among investors world wide. But still it does not give huge profits as bitcoin has given.Since bitcoin works on a secured block chain system, our investment is safe.Bitcoin has tripled in its price since last six months. So i would like to select bitcoin as an investment than gold.
That’s a wise decision though. Indeed gold had been favorite for traders for many centuries but now the time has changed. We are living in an era full of technology where we do most of our daily things online. People avoid anything that is physical mode of payment.

This is one of the reasons why bitcoins are highly cherished worldwide. Besides they are more profitable than gold.

Traders love bitcoin for the reason that its price is very variable. And it is in these moments is trading. Gold is stable and therefore it is not as easy to make money on it as it is on bitcoin

Gold is also used more as a store of value during bad economic times precisely because of its stability and anti inflationary supply. As for speculation it is no different with gold because most trades are done on margin and bitcoin is still lagging behind so I wouldn't say traders love gold any less than bitcoin right now.
