I think that, regarding the mining power, it yet remains to be seen... BU also started with negligible power, and climbed to 40% support in just 2 years... Guess only time will tell that wasn't mining power. that was mining signaling. they were running the same software as everyone else to mine bitcoin. i doubt many or any of them were insane enough to run actual unlimited code. Yes I know; that was what I wrote, 'support' I mean, there is support for this split-off, so much is certain. And there have always been miners that jump in on new opportunities, nearly every mineable altcoin has proven that. If the BCH will succeed, or not, that remains to be seen of course... The combination of the blocktime + block reward + the use of the SHA256 algo, especially in this ASIC era, would require a rather high price for it to be viable. On first glance it looks like the odds are against it, yet this IS crypto; and crypto is a strange world where odd things can happen, as we have seen many times over

how can i receive BCC on my Bitcoin Core wallet? What i need to do before 1 aug?
As you long as you control the private keys of your bitcoins addresses then you have nothing to worry about. The only reason to worry is for people who stores their bitcoins on cloud wallets or on exchanges, so they rely on the exchange to split the coins once the fork happen, but you , as a qt user won't need to do a thing.

You have to control the private keys so no Blockchain.info does not give you the private keys.

I have created a poll to see how the community views the fork and the future of bitcoin. Please answer the poll so we can have a statistically significant number of responses. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2048167.0;allI am trying to be fair on that poll and included as many answers as I could think of. I will keep the poll open until a couple of hours before the Aug 1st fork. Let's see if the wisdom of the forum is indicative of how it will turn out. Thank you for participating. Could you please STOP repeating this message over and over... It's annoying, moreover when there's already so much confusion among people thinking Bitcoin Cash is BCC; and then you, on top of that, start addressing the Bitcoin as 'Bitcoin SegWit2x' or even worse, 'BTS', and 'BTL' for Bitcoin Cash... Just, stop spreading these kind of nonsense... Bitcoin = Bitcoin, which is BTC ( and not that BTS crap) (Bitcoin) SegWitx2x = NOT Bitcoin. Bitcoin = Bitcoin, and SegWit2x is a miner agreement... ( and still not that BTS crap) Bitcoin Cash = NOT 'BCC', and most certainly NOT 'BTL'...

where can I participate in this airdrop?
If you hold the Bitcoin which has a private key then you are eligible for this Airdrop. Many people are selling their altcoin and converting them into BTC for the sake of cheap BCC. I think that is not a good idea because selling them at cheap and holding a cheap coin is really bad idea. So holding them in a Jaxx wallet is sufficient? Please answer this fast.Answer please

This will be like the lottery, if bitcoin cash is a success then people have made an excellent business, if bitcoin cash is not a good deal right away, then people will not lose anything. Good to know. I had forgotten that i have my bitcoins on yobit.

I think they plan to change it to bcash to clear it up once and for all. That too remains to be seen... @ gnurta, BCC is used as the abbreviation of Bit Coin Cash, but it is not their ticker! The ticker BCC, stands for the BitConnect Coin (hence, the general confusion). Some exchanges, have noted in their comments when they refer to Bitcoin Cash, as BCH. But since others keep referring to them as BCC, this BCH-ticker is also still unclear... So in answer to your question, neither is (yet?) the official ticker...

That is not clear which one is the official ticker of this coin I saw BCH only on kraken while on other exchanges still using BCC. I hope before this HF this will be clear what Ticker they will choose to use for this coin.

I'm confused now. What is the official ticker of bitcoin cash, BCC or BCH?
There is none. Because the incompetence with the ViaBTC launch It will be called , BCC, BCH , bcash , ABC, BMC, BC, ect... It would have taken 1 minute of time to CTRL F on coinmarketcap , but ohhh well , another shitcoin, so no one has time for a professional site(Its a WIX site!), code review , or finding an unused ticker.

I swear I am completely confused by all of this, and the response from all of the exchanges. I have switched a lot of my alts into btc, and withdrew that from the exchanges. I control the private keys that are associated with the addresses my btc are on. So I guess whatever happens, my bases are mostly covered.
