Well done, takes some character to admit a fault in order to wipe the slate clean and restart.

The ideas in this coin are good an deserve a shot at a wider audience.

Keep us posted.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Cloudcoin client UPDATE V1.1 - Download on: July 27, 2013, 07:49:07 PM
no problem its cosmetic and probably my rigs.

I have a message saying minting suspended due to locked wallet.(encrypted)
Can you organise a tutorial/guide on how PoS works and what needs to be done (if anything)

So far I have as zero issues with either your client, network or pool so grats on that.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Cloudcoin client UPDATE V1.1 - Download on: July 27, 2013, 07:34:28 PM
OK Iv'e done just that file, see no change, no splash screen as it goes direct to tray.
so apart from file size the is nothing to suggest anything is different.

What else have you fixed ?

406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Cloudcoin client UPDATE V1.1 - Download on: July 27, 2013, 07:18:53 PM
there is no cloudcoinqt.exe file in the %appdata%> ROAMING> cloudcoin folder

mine is in a folder called cloudcoin on my desktop (for now)

The version number in help>about cloudcoin is still 1.0.0.0
The version on the client download page is still 1.0

Huh?

407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloudcoin is out - Development Announcement - NEWS on: July 27, 2013, 04:15:53 PM
OK started (announced) well and then got beaten about the head horribly by the community over the poor handling of the pre-mine and launch.
That lesson should stand for all new alts.

On the plus side
Coin, wallet, pool working well, super quick, low stale, fast confirms.
The bounty for miner adoption and development are generous (as they should be with 1 mill to spend)
No transaction fees on the network??

Going to need some explanation on the PoS - coin age etc. Is it implemented yet? what are the rules etc.
Going to need to see an audit of where the pre mine goes as the plan develops

I'm not convinced this coin deserves the battering its taken, most negative comments are from those who seem incapable of a positive one anyway
there have been some appalling launches recently and this isn't the worst by a long long way.
It's up to the devs now to tell those left with open ears about the plan and the progress.

So far
cloudcoin.miningpool.co

lets see these happen.
25000CDC - Faucet https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262481.0
45000CDC - stratum pool https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=263143.0

So c'mon guys be clear and deliver on your plans an you will continue to gather backing and support.
No technical reason this coin is going to fail,  just needs community behind good leadership.

Good luck.

No you don't have an army of beta testers but what you do have is a template for getting things right and avoiding the things that
Pi55 people from all the other coin releases in recent weeks.
Don't kid around you know what is good and bad and you seem to have failed to learn from the good ones.
Early adopting miners tend to know how to get their rigs running a new coin solo, they don't need spoon feeding they need good info.

After that you can make your own mistakes, I'm not expecting perfection, I doubt anyone else is either.
If you get that far you will be judged on how you deal with the issues.

be clear about the release date and requirements to mine
make sure you web pages and code WORK. If it ain't ready we will wait, if you give us crap we walk away for good.
make sure you announce on the relevant pages at the same time.

For what its work I liked the ideas. better luck in the future.

Errrm ..."A person that never made a mistake never tried anything new" ... really
What Einstein then went on to say was ...
I have made mistakes trying new stuff and now see crap like this a mile off.

This seems rather silly to me.  As if a bot couldn't be programmed to post a "substantial" reply and wait 4 hours.

This is a good example of what Bruce Schneier calls "security theater".  People equate inconvenience with security, so they feel safer if you jerk them around a bit.

I hope "sarcasm" doesn't conflict with "substance" in the content of this reply.

agreed, post inflation isn't too hard. |OK patience time now .. 360 seconds .. OMG .. Guess the give-away thread will be dead before I get my addy on it ..... :/

though I thank you for the opportunity to post a sensible comment without the need to engage brain or trawl threads I don't want to read for something to comment on.
