Very, very, very, very lame scam attempt Angry.
403  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 164 blocks solved! on: March 05, 2016, 01:25:57 AM
wow! difficulty dropped down to 158,427,203,767.3920 first time I've seen it drop since learning about bitcoin last August.

Thats good but unfortunately wont make any real difference to most miners.

yeah. it would need to drop to the millions before I'd ever see a chance, but I'd like to be able to say I got a block once.

Me too, been trying for a few years now dont think it will ever happen Embarrassed.

it's good to know I'm not the only one around the forum who hasn't had any luck. I figured I was part of the minority around here.

No my friend its not just you, I'm sure most haven't hit a solo block because either they've been mining on a pool or just had bad luck. Problem is now with difficulty so ridiculously high its so hard to solve a block on your own.

Some have though recently with relatively low hashrate so there's still a small chance Smiley.

yeh did that and got down to 40% fan speed and temps at highest of about 52....although at daytime ambient will be higher temp so it might not be suitable.....
what is a good temp to aim for? highest i can safely and run it at without dramas?

Try and keep under 60 if you can, obviously lower the better.

Looks like they've paid for another press release: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/ph-miners-launches-powerful-cryptocurrency-miners-for-bitcoin-and-litecoin-300229590.html

This whole thing is an absolute joke, using that old image is a pretty stupid mistake as its been used in other scams. Unless of course its the same people trying to scam again?

Quote
It’s been two years since pH Miners founders decided to create their own cryptocurrency miners.

But the domain phminers.com was only registered at the start of 2016. Surely the first rule in any new business is to secure your domain name.

I just hope nobody falls for this scam, I don't think they will as it been very poorly executed and people are much wiser now.
411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S5 Setup [HD] on: March 04, 2016, 07:40:52 AM
thought so thanks and it has 2 fans atm and the sound is insanely loud...

They can be very loud especially with the stock fan Sad.

I had a single G839 Noctua NF-F12 Industrial PPC 3000RPM PWM 120mm high performance fan on some S5s I was running a while back and they were pretty effective at cooling and were much quieter than the stock fan Smiley.
412  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S5 Setup [HD] on: March 04, 2016, 07:34:54 AM
this might be a dumb question....but if i solo mined with a s5 would it still be as noisy as normal mining?...

Yes it will make the same noise whatever mining you do.

You can make it considerably quieter by under clocking and / or changing the fan though Wink.
413  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: March 03, 2016, 07:09:26 PM
arg, i personallly am getting discouraged in bitfury, not that it surprises me ;\
they seem to have the time for the big money and deal with bcn, but not sidehack
i really hope they honor their word but i fear no chips till april or later ;(
cmon bitfury, don't let us down, choose community for once!

I have faith in Bitfury they will provide us with a solid amount  of chips at a decent price and earlier

then  expected.

How is that for a BOLD  remark?

I hope you're right Cool
414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: pH Miners Launches Powerful Cryptocurrency Miners for Bitcoin on: March 03, 2016, 12:59:30 PM
And of course they only accept payment in bitcoin.
415  Economy / Goods / Re: 4 iPhone 6s 16gb space grey on: March 03, 2016, 11:51:57 AM
This is obviously just another very lame scam.

New account, no escrow, no pictures, items priced way below market value Roll Eyes.
416  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: March 03, 2016, 12:38:34 AM
Yes very true Smiley.

I'm glad to see this venture and that you're excited about it, I would be too if I could afford it and lived in a sunnier part of the world Cheesy. Unfortunately the UK isn't great for solar power generation Sad.

Good luck to you I hope it pays off Smiley.
417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: March 03, 2016, 12:14:06 AM
I really hope this goes ahead, it would be really nice to have a small efficient home miner Smiley.
418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: March 02, 2016, 10:52:52 PM
USA has a hybrid on grid setup.

so during the sunlight  you mine with 15k of your 60k  and sell 45k to power company  then at night you buy back from power company

Ah okay thank you sounds good Smiley
419  Economy / Goods / Re: 4 iPhone 6s 16gb space grey on: March 02, 2016, 10:34:23 PM
Posting pictures of the phone with your username and date will help generate some more interest Wink.

Also as you're a brand new account you'll need to use a trusted forum escrow.
420  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: March 02, 2016, 10:25:24 PM
Looking good my man great work from you and buysolar Grin.

Just wondering will the miners only work during daylight hours?
