401  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Dragonmint T1 "ERROR - failed to recv spi data" on: June 19, 2018, 12:26:26 PM
Also make sure you're on the latest firmware
It does seem to help, I upgraded one and it went back from 1 board to 2. The only problem is that most of the miners get stuck around 30% when upgrading. https://i.stack.imgur.com/Tg9de.png Any idea why?
402  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Dragonmint T1 "ERROR - failed to recv spi data" on: June 19, 2018, 02:39:09 AM
Thank you for the extensive reply, Con. My only question is why would this issue start to occur after a reboot?

In my case I was watching about a dozen of the T1, all of them 16 TH for a couple weeks, until they were all rebooted (power off for 5-10 mins, then back on). After this, 4 miners came back up with only 1 board and there are 4 more that only have 2. Tried rebooting them all but exact same results.

I made sure to check pool stats to confirm the hashrate drop. Any idea why those faulty boards were still able to keep hashing until the miners were rebooted?
403  Bitcoin / Mining support / Dragonmint T1 "ERROR - failed to recv spi data" on: June 18, 2018, 03:53:28 PM

Anyone have any ideas on this issue? The log comes from a T1 with only the left board hashing.
404  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Building Bmminer from Bitmain's Github on: June 18, 2018, 03:02:49 PM
I have not yet tried anything with it, but I know that Zwilla's repo was forked to https://github.com/Codyle/bmminer-cgminer492

Let me know how things go and I will probably try my hand at this as well

406  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 18, 2018, 02:34:49 AM
Works Flawessly
And they show everything, much more than others monitor softwares!!
Now im gonna start my temp studies.
Please send your btc wallet for a tip.
So glad that I could help you out! You can tip me at 1Gnp5Gr3oUNFaPJKXCKNKkjgZWFEUHoXNg (thank you!)
Perhaps I should expand these scripts instead of just making a csv so that it could actually rival other monitoring softwares.
407  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 16, 2018, 06:57:14 PM
Hey, sorry for taking some days. I slightly modified the scripts to remove the multithreading and I put everything in a .zip file. Just download and extract it, change what is in miners.txt and you should be good to go.

Here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1rz8vds7fuje3hx/Guinsanity.zip?dl=0
408  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 12, 2018, 11:40:07 AM
The miners.txt format is good, you can make the "location" any unique text you want by the way.

I sat here staring at it for like 10 minutes until I realized it might be because your folder has a space in it. You should try removing the space from the folder. Also in the folder you have you should make another folder called _ (just one underscore) to hold all the text file results. I didn't mention that before because I thought the program made that folder automatically but I guess not.

Let me know if it works and if not idk, I will reduce it to a non-multithreaded version which probably is simpler but just a little slower.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ How to get CGMiner to display properly in Putty - SSH on: June 11, 2018, 03:48:12 PM
This is the bitcoin mining subforum, you should ask in the altcoin subforum instead. Can you not do like this to get stats from cgminer, or is that not what you are looking for?:

Code:
echo -n "stats" | nc localhost 4028
410  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 11, 2018, 04:26:08 AM
The problem is probably with netcat like you mentioned. The step 5 issue is just a result of not having any text files in the folder.

The version of netcat that you downloaded relies on external library files. I would use one that is statically compiled specifically for Windows. e.g. http://nmap.org/dist/ncat-portable-5.59BETA1.zip Sorry for the confusion, I should have linked to this one specifically. If you still have issues with this ncat.exe let me know.

Also you should copy and paste what you have in miners.txt so I can see if you are using the proper format.
411  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Solution for ANTMINER S9 FANS SPEED Up & Down every 20 Seconds. on: June 10, 2018, 05:56:33 PM
It likes the PWM 100 setting but even though I save it as 550 it doesn't change the frequency after the bootup. Any ideas?
Autotune firmware ignores the frequency setting. You have to be on a fixed freq firmware in order to alter the frequency like that.
412  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 08, 2018, 06:06:24 PM
Do you mind to share that batch?

I dont have programmer skills
Sure thing. If you want the batch version I would split it up into two scripts, one to get the info and one to compile to csv. Make a new folder, where you will put everything into. First put a list called miners.txt that looks something like this:

Code:
A1 - 192.168.1.3
A2 - 192.168.1.7
A3 - 192.168.1.5
A4 - 192.168.1.6
B1 - 192.168.2.3
B2 - 192.168.2.4

and so on... Location can be anything you want, even just 1 2 3 etc. Just make sure it is like (location) - (IP) on each line, nothing blank or different format.

In this folder you also need a powershell script. Make one and call it clearNull.ps1, with this source:

Code:
Get-ChildItem ".\_\" | ForEach { (Get-Content $($_.fullname)) -replace "`0", "" | Set-Content $($_.fullname) -NoNewline }

Now make a .bat file for multithreading. Make one and call it _T.bat with the below source. You will need ncat on your system or just download ncat.exe from online and drop it in the folder.

Code:
@echo off
echo Antminer S9 Information Gathering Thread
echo.
setlocal enableextensions enabledelayedexpansion
for /f %%a in ('copy /Z "%~dpf0" nul') do set "CR=%%a"
for /F "tokens=*" %%A in (_%1.tim) do (
  for /f "tokens=1,3" %%a in ("%%A") do (
    set "tx=%%a"
    <nul set /p "=Processing miner on %%b ...      !CR!"
    echo {"command":"stats+"} | ncat %%b 4028 -w 1 > .\_\!tx!.txt 2> .\_\!tx!_.txt
  )
)
exit

Now make a batch file (call it whatever) for spawning the threads to collect the info. This is the first script you would run, to gather all the info from your miners.

Code:
@echo off
echo Antminer S9 Information Gatherer
echo tim-bc bitcointalk 2018-06-08
echo.
echo Performing step 1 of 5 (Prepare Filesystem)...
del /f /s /q .\_\ >nul 2>&1
del /f *.tim >nul 2>&1
echo Done
echo.
setlocal enableextensions enabledelayedexpansion
echo Performing step 2 of 5 (Prepare Threads)...
sort miners.txt /o _.tim
set line=-1
for /f %%a in ('copy /Z "%~dpf0" nul') do set "CR=%%a"
for /F "tokens=*" %%A in (_.tim) do (
  set /a "line=1+!line!"
  set /a "_tim=!line!/10"
  echo %%A>>_!_tim!.tim
  for /f "tokens=1" %%a in ("%%A") do (
    <nul set /p "=Processing miner !line! at %%a ...!CR!"
  )
)
echo Done
echo.
echo Performing step 3 of 5 (Run Threads)...
for /f "tokens=*" %%i in ('tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq conhost.exe" ^| find /C "conhost"') do set _=%%i
for /l %%i in (0, 1, %_tim%) do (
  start _T %%i
)
echo Waiting for threads to complete...
:bitcointalk
for /f "tokens=*" %%i in ('tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq conhost.exe" ^| find /C "conhost"') do set __=%%i
if %__% gtr %_% (
 timeout /t 1 >nul
 goto bitcointalk
)
echo.
echo Performing step 4 of 5 (Clean Filesystem)...
for /r %%F in (.\*) do if %%~zF==0 del "%%F"
del /f *.tim >nul 2>&1
echo Done
echo.
echo Performing step 5 of 5 (Clean Files)...
set ThisScriptsDirectory=%~dp0
set PowerShellScriptPath=%ThisScriptsDirectory%clearNull.ps1
PowerShell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "& '%PowerShellScriptPath%'";
echo Done
echo.
echo Press any key to exit...
pause>nul

This will make one thread per 10 miners. If you want to change this number just edit the line _tim=!line!/10" and change to your liking.

After you have done all this, if you run the script you see the results in a folder in a bunch of different text files. Make a batch file (in the main folder) with this source to parse these text files into a csv:

Code:
@echo off
echo Antminer S9 Information Compiler
echo(
echo Location,Elapsed,Realtime Hashrate,Average Hashrate,Left Hashrate,Center Hashrate,Right Hashrate,Boards Detected,Chips Detected (Left),Chips Detected (Center),Chips Detected (Right),Fans Detected,Faster Fan Speed,Slower Fan Speed,Optimal Frequency,Average Frequency,Left Frequency,Center Frequency,Right Frequency,ASIC Temp (Left),ASIC Temp (Center),ASIC Temp (Right),Ambient Temp (Left),Ambient Temp (Center),Ambient Temp (Right),%% Hardware Error,Firmware Version,Miner Version,Miner ID>__.csv
setlocal enableextensions enabledelayedexpansion
for %%f in (.\_\*.txt) do (
 set "_location=%%f"
 if exist .\_\!_location!.txt (
  for /f "delims=" %%a in (.\_\!_location!.txt) do set tx=%%a
  set tx=!tx:"=!
  set tx=!tx::=!
  set tx=!tx:%%=!

Together, these batch scripts will produce you a csv with your miner's location (whatever format you use), time elapsed hashing to pool, realtime hashrate (5s average), average hashrate, realtime on each board, how many boards are plugged in, how many chips detected on each board, number of fans detected, faster fan speed, slower fan speed, optimal frequency, average freq, freq on each board, chip temperature for each board, local/pcb temp for each board, hw errors for each board, firmware compile date, miner version, miner internal ID

Enjoy!
413  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s9 hashing at 9th help on: June 08, 2018, 04:34:57 PM
Plus the hashboard works perfect at full speed when its the only one connected
Have you tried using a different power supply / power circuit? Usually I've seen that there is a power issue when all the boards work fine individually but not together.
414  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Temp PCB or Temp Chips? Btc.com Tools vs Awesome Miner on: June 07, 2018, 07:51:35 PM
Monitoring the pcb temps could work if you keep in mind that the chip temps can get considerably higher.

If you write a simple batch / bash script you can check the stats and generate a csv yourself, I have done it with all 6 temps.
415  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to Overclock Your Autotune Antminer S9 on: June 06, 2018, 04:17:18 AM
So while we're on the subject, what's the highest hashrate that you all have achieved using a 13.5T-rated S9 with a 1600W psu?

My current best is 14.7T stable. It seems to max out the psu near 14.8T.
416  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 4 pin fan for antminer on: June 06, 2018, 12:30:05 AM
Do you know how it works specifically for the S9? Which fan needs to be faster - the front or the rear one?
I believe the front fan needs to be faster, although the fans are practically interchangeable (?). I use the same spare fans for front and back and it seems to make no difference.
417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: June 04, 2018, 11:29:54 PM
Does this mean that cgminer permissions cannot be edited? Otherwise you can't call privileged commands to port 4028, only stuck with summary, stats, etc. and everything else has to be done through the http api.
418  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Prevent dust from collecting on S9 intake fan grate? on: June 03, 2018, 03:32:34 PM
Holy crap! I think you need to do more than just filter the miner. You need to filter ALL the air coming in!
Well all of the walls are louvered and now they have filters on them as well to prevent the majority of pollutants from entering. Kind of like in this picture: http://www.airsolutioncompany.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/101305-61.jpg

However there is ongoing construction which is introducing ways for unfiltered air to get in. The miners are set up in a hot/cold scheme but there is not enough space to try to filter the air in more places then just the louvers.
419  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S9 - stop hashing while keeping bmminer on on: June 03, 2018, 03:22:29 PM
you mentioned ambient air temps of 40C on your cold side is that consistent with the outside air temperature?? You may be experiencing short circuiting on a larger scale from your exhaust fans back around to your air intakes
It should be, but it is not. It seems that currently the exhaust fans cannot handle the miners when they get hot and put fans to 100%. In the non-summer periods it was easier since the miner fans were not at 100% and all the hot air could be exhausted, but in the summer now the miners are creating more airflow and what cannot be exhausted is leaking out around the miners and being sucked back through. It's honestly quite a bad situation and I hope the bigger exhaust fans arrive soon..
420  Bitcoin / Mining support / Prevent dust from collecting on S9 intake fan grate? on: June 02, 2018, 02:37:56 PM
What's the best way to filter out tiny dust? The filters in now don't seem to catch fine dust/sand particles and they just build up on the intake fan grate (see pic):
