404  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Poll for the Jalapeno owners on: January 14, 2014, 03:05:29 PM
all my jallies blew up Smiley, they couldn't last more than 11 days. If u are still hell bent on buying stuff from BFL, invest in a good psu to run their asics, else your circuit breakers will kiss the floor, and you will experience a nice lights out situation. Then when you try to boot it up again, welcome to the world of "Unknown Device". Then u find yourself trying to RMA it, which further incurs cost, lol.

wow that looks pretty good, nice price on that too, if you really want a good one, you could go for the corsair or seasonic brands
406  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is it worth to buy a 3TH miner (10BTC)? on: January 13, 2014, 12:54:41 PM
23k for 4th will be like 5.75 per gh.
I'm sure there are better offers.

If u get it now, example it ships out today or tomorrow after you have made the payment, then yea maybe 23k seems to be a reasonable deal.
407  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have a MAXIMUM budget of 12 BTC to invest in Bitcoin mining, need some advice on: January 13, 2014, 08:09:52 AM
if you're gonna buy jalapenos, make sure you get them a good psu, else they will die out fast. Those ATX ones are great, there's a thread that a dude sell those atx to 5.5mm connectors so that you could plug in to your jally.

In my opinion, get stuff that you can get your hands on right now, not a pre order or anything, unless the company is sure to ship at that stipulated date. I waited 5 months for my jallies. They died recently after 7 to 11 days of use. Mostly power supply problems. I wouldn't recommend them, but it's your call.

Stuff from KNC seems pretty solid, rigid, designed for long term mining.

Guess paypal feels threatened by the existence of bitcoin. As bitcoin gradually starts being adopted as the norm, guess what, you guys will be using bitpay more often than you use paypal.

413  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: how do i expand my mining operations? on: January 07, 2014, 11:21:30 AM
there are certain alt coins that drop difficulty to ridiculous lvls at random intervals, you can try those out:

1. http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency
2. uncheck sha 256
3. check on Scrypt
3. key in your farm's combined khz
4. key in the Power and Power Cost
5. click on "Calculate Profitability"

See which alt coins gives you the best return rate and the best growth rate (look at their charts). You might want to consider the ease of exchange at cryptsy or btc-e or at other alt coins exchange.

High risk high rewards, low risk low rewards, either u make it or break it, for me, I would just do it anyway.

419  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BlackArrow => Scam or not? on: January 05, 2014, 09:35:30 PM
Hmm I was about to unload all my bitcoins on them until I saw this thread hahaha. Well they do have one of the best bang for buck asics out there. If you found better ones, do let me know lol.

However, I personally don't think that they're a scam, if you take a look at the 2nd vid posted:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9ybLGF1AkY

you can see a one of their staff is inspecting for flaws on the hardware made, and she certainly does look Chinese to me. And them being located at China, that tallies up.

You could order from Butterfly labs, but my goodness, anyone who has ordered stuff from them will know, exactly how longgggggggg we had to wait lol. But the good thing about them is, they eventually deliver, so if blackarrow proves to be a scam, which i doubt so, then I just might have to settle with a monarch card.
