401  Other / Beginners & Help / 3days and 19hours of Bitcointalk.... on: June 27, 2018, 07:21:58 AM
I have joined this forum recently and I would like to share my experience about "bitcointalk" and new "merit system". When I was joined, I'm only worried about "how to earn merits". Actually I'm looked for easy methods even shortcuts. Then one day I got a nice reply from a senior member regarding what are the things that i can learn from this forum ( actually totally free) and  how to use "search" function. Now I am addicted to learn new things regarding cryto field even other fields too. I feeled this forum like a free version of  encyclopedia. The things I have learned from this short period of time are as follows which I believed helpful for new coming members.

  • There are no "easy method" or "shortcuts" to earn merits( Even life). Don't worry about earning merits, gaining merit is a side benefit. You just need to contribute to the forum by helping other members.
  • I think this forum is driven by sharing each others knowledge and experience. So always try to help other members while you are learning.
  • Try to use "search" function before posting.
  • Since this is a international forum, as members we should have some English litaracy in order to better interaction with other members. ( But there are local boards that you can share and learn from your native language too).
  • Don't post unnecessarily and clog the threads if you don't have anything to say.
  • I think better off from bounty sections( at least few months from joining) which gives you extra time for reading.
  • Don't hesitate to use "report to moderator" funtion which helps to make forum at least less spam.( I have reported 32 reports with 100% accuracy)

I further likes to share my bookmarked list of threads which I believed helpful for new comers too.

402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insert image tutorial on: June 26, 2018, 08:29:04 PM
There is nothing more annoying than having to scroll through a load of images, especially if they are quoted to extend the thread even further.
In that case I have followed this thread of
Guideline on posting images (with size adjustments), hyperlinks in order to avoiding scroll through load of images by members Wink
403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For merits - which is best Scrypt or SHA-256 on: June 26, 2018, 06:25:26 PM
Bitcoin was usually mined by the method of CPU mining in early stages. Then people were developed script even script codes for mining Bitcoin through GPU(Graphical Processing Unit). Nowadays we don't mine Bitcoin through CPU either GPU. But you can mine script coins though CPU and even GPU. SHA-256 is not the way to go though it's more secure. So that's why people shift from mining of Bitcoin. Avarage user cannot mine Bitcoins due to it's higher capital cost. You have to be a large miner in order to survive in the Eco system. Therefore most of The newer coins coming to the crypto field pretend to script due to this advantage. Because avarage user can mine each coins, fair mining ability .At the current phase script coins can be mined through CPU, through GPU.

If we talk about mining power, GPU for Bitcoin need higher hash rete where script coins need lower value its same when it comes to graphic card, lot  less mining capacity  for bitcoins when compared to the script coins. Script coins today can mines by every avarage user with minimal investment. Lets say even if you're willing to pay some bucks for mining SHA-256 coins through third party servises, you won't make your money back due to the hash rate increasing so rapidly and the ROI it's just minimul. In the other hand any one can buy a computer with GPU by spending few hundred dollars, can start right away to mine script coins, but not the SHA- 256 coins. So that's why script coins become more popular these days even can called "mining coin of the avarage person's".
404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn Cryptocurrency by completing simple tasks!! on: June 26, 2018, 09:49:54 AM
@OP, using beginners and help section for the promotion does not look ethically correct to me.
It's not correct ethically or technically promoting some alt coins in this section which violate the forum rules. As a responsible members we all should obey the rules. So better to move this thread to Altcoin Discussion or Announcements (Altcoins)
405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need Help on: June 26, 2018, 09:35:19 AM
How to post image here?I do not know that.Anyone please help.
After you ranked above jr.member try this thread which I believed the best guide at the moment Wink

406  Other / Meta / Re: Prevent spamming and pump topic from new account ? on: June 26, 2018, 09:22:50 AM
So all newbie and Jr.Member have to write more for their post.
Do you think that will solve the problem or make it worse. Because if we put a limit, those shitposters surely googling and try to copy paste whole sections and that will ultimately filled the threads with redundant posts which having more characters.

It can make reply/post make sense and more information
Trust me, higher number of characters doesn't mean posts/reply are always making sense. Some times five, six words can express what spammers couldn't do with hundred of words.
407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you need 1 merit become member from Jr. member? I would like to help you. on: June 26, 2018, 08:55:19 AM
I don't know why moderator are moving this thread ? First move from help & begginer to meta , again from meta to off topic. Can I know the reason ?
Yeah I'm also want to know the reason, because Coolcryptovator is doing a fine job rewarding one sMerit per member, for members actually deserved( I assured that he/she is not spending any sMerits without looking at members contribution to the forum, not for making himself laugh.Wink)
I strongly believed this thread belongs to Meta. Mods we need clarifications?
408  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post bounty all over the forum? on: June 25, 2018, 06:40:59 PM
Now to answer your question Ann thread and Bounty campaign announcements can technically posted in all over the forum,
Thanks for your consice explanation. But I feeled like, technically "NickVasilich" spams the forum.  Wink

Is it allowed to post refferel links in any boards?
Is there any limitations under Forum moderation policy for allowing to share refferel links?
409  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post bounty all over the forum? on: June 25, 2018, 06:21:31 PM
Forum rules

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]
So, clearly it's a violation of rules. So, feel free to use "report to moderator" feature.
I want to clarify if someone shares refferel link with original site link, how can we spot that members intention actually helps the forum members or not?
Is it allowed to share original sites link without refferel links?

Here is a topic which will help you to understand better how the reporting works: [Guide] Reporting effectively

Thanks to Welsh
Yeah thanks for sharing and I have already bookmarked it. I really think "Theymos" should approved "Welsh's" application.

The best thing you can do is use the "Report to Moderator" option at the bottom left of the post.

You will be given a line to write why you are reporting it, just explain they are spamming the forum with the same post in multiple threads, and the MODS will go through the post history a bit.
I have already done that but it was showing that it is unhadled while my other 27 reports having 100% accuracy.
411  Other / Meta / Is it allowed to post bounty all over the forum? on: June 25, 2018, 05:14:20 PM
I have seen that one of the forum member has all over the forum boards by sharing his refferel links which is really annoying. The thing I want to to get clarified is wether this member violate the forum moderation policy by spreading his/her refferel link since it is shared with original site link too. However check his/her last 15 posts actually same post again and again about some alt coin in different boards( within today only).

Is there any way to identify posting the same post in different boards repeatedly.?

412  Other / Meta / Re: How long I can have sMerits? on: June 25, 2018, 02:01:41 PM
Something similar happened the last time when I received 10 merits for one post. Merit system was totally new at that time. Well, maybe sMerits decays after 2-3 days or so.
I have a feeling that you're lying about sMerits since so many members explained very clearly that sMerits didn't decayed at the moment. You're always saying the same story again and again. Don't know what is your intentions and feeled like you just want to continue this thread without any valid reason. I think it is better, if you can locked this thread and read the thread very carefully what other members said repeatedly.
413  Other / Meta / Re: The Reality of this forum on: June 25, 2018, 12:42:34 PM
I assume that you mean that merit awards should not be restricted to posters who agree with the philosophy of the awarder. The diversity amongst the merit sources, and the ability of those who have received merit to award merit, means that anybody creating a decent post should be able to reap a reward. It falls down if awarders don't use post quality as the primary criterion.

While we will not be directly moderating this, I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.
I only want to highlight the point what "Theymos" said at the first place when he introduced "merit" system for the forum. Is there any mods who reviewed ( at least randomly) how the merit sources send their sMerits? Someone can argue that " I can send my sMerits by my own way" and do you believe that's fair when we look at the big picture of making forum less spammy.

Quote
This was something that concerned me when I became a merit source. I have quite a few English opinions and standards, and I felt that these should be modulated in an International forum ( well a little bit anyway).
I'm also agree with you that English opinions and standards matter when it comes to the international forum though I'm not a Englishman and my native language is not English either. But since I have joined this forum I think I am able to improve (actually I can't say only from my  view) my English knowledge which is a added benefit for my professional career also. So to be honest I feel why I didn't know about bitcointalk before?
414  Other / Meta / Re: The Reality of this forum on: June 25, 2018, 07:42:03 AM
I think the merit system had good intentions, however far too frequently, I see posts with merit that I believe received merit because the sender agreed with the content of the post, and not the underlying effort put into the post. I believe that over time, the merit system will only contribute and encourage groupthink.
I also think merit system needs some tweaks in order to achieve it's utmost goal. As far my knowledge merits should not only given if the sender agreed with the post.
That is chopping opportunities for getting merits whose thinking out of the box and that will ultimately produce some kind of groups of members who blindly agreed with the OP in order to gain merits.

416  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Climate change and the power crisis.. on: June 24, 2018, 05:58:07 PM
I know the way to cool down the Earth quickly and fix the global human population growth problem at the same time but... is called nuclear winter, I hope they don't go for that "solution" even with those crazy heads like Putin,Trump, Kim..

Lol. To be honest people refer to climate change as a problem for reason, it isn't just that it heats up, but that ecosystem isn't used to it.
It is the rapid change in climate that is the main problem, not the heat in particular. Rapidly cooling the planet down would create it's own problems to the ecosystem.

Yeah we all know natural climate variability already there. But the "Anthropogenic effect"is the main thing for climate change.
I also agree with rapidly cooling the planet is not an viable option even thinking about ,in fact it will create more problems.

Trees take a long time to grow. There is a lot of trees in the World already, I don't think increasing the number of trees is the most important factor.
I doubt that any amount of trees would be able to handle this much CO2. We just need to slow it down, that is all.

Everything takes time and we are not talking about forthcoming two, three even ten years only, try to look at the big picture. We need to slow down as well as need to take preventive actions simultaneously.

I doubt that "there is lot of trees" since deforestation take place after industrial revolution. I will highlight only few facts,

  • One mature tree absorbs carbon dioxide at a rate of 48 pounds per year
  • In one year, an acre of forest can absorb twice the CO2 produced by the average car's annual mileage
  • One and a half acres of forest is cut down every second
  • Loss of forests contributes between 12 percent and 17 percent of annual global GHG emissions

As for the developing countries needing fossil fuels, yeah, this is exactly why everyone agreed that they should be allowed to burn their fair share that developed countries already profited from burning their's.

Though developed countries already profited from burning their's, why everyone should agreed for allowing developing countries to burn their fair share while everyone has to face the consequences of climate change equally.

So rather better option is introducing mechanisms like "Clean Development Mechanisms" (CDM) for the developing countries, funded by developed countries.

417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn merit by telling us about the dangers in using 3rd party wallets. on: June 24, 2018, 04:11:00 PM
Using a 3rd party wallet you will not be able to guarantee that your money is safe. As far as I remember, Myetherwallet was attacked not long ago. Your money will not be safe anymore

MEW is can't catagorize as a 3rd party wallet since we are the only having "private key", not the MEW team.

The hacking thing about MEW is another aspect which happens if we entered our private key through a phishing link. So it's better not to use keystore file(JSON) or private key in order to login your account. Always try to use servise like"Metamask" which is less likely to be phished.
418  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Climate change and the power crisis.. on: June 24, 2018, 02:24:57 PM
At the 2015 United Nation's Framework Agreement on Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) the nations of the world agreed to limit temperature rise due to climate change to 20C

How would they expect to achieve this?  Even if we stop all fossil fuel burning NOW, the earth's temperature is still going to rise for the next half century or so.
Let's clarify this 20C, it's considered as the treashold maximum that earth can afford. If it goes higher than
20C, it will be disaster.

Look at the above graph and you can clearly see atmospheric CO2 concentration is increasing exponentially with time. Now it's more than 400 (ppm). In order to temperature rise below 20C , atmospheric concentration of CO2 should not exceed 450(ppm).

What we should do

Together we can do it, to do that Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) suggested that,

  • World must redused emission by 50% by 2050 with a peak around 2020
  • Annex 1 countries 30% emission cuts by 2020 and at least 80% cuts by 2050
  • Developing countries should cuts of 20% against 1990 levels by 2050

But I believed most important one is "plant trees" in order to capture the CO2 from atmosphere. If we plant more trees ,more absorption will happen.

Last but not the least check the following figure,

It clearly shows that how largely CO2 (fossil fuel burning) contributes to the GHG share of global emissions.
419  Other / Politics & Society / Climate change and the power crisis.. on: June 24, 2018, 11:35:55 AM
I'm a person who lives in a developing country (but not a 3rd world shitposter) and I'm so worried about the "climate change" (actually whole world should be). At the 2015 United Nation's Framework Agreement on Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) the nations of the world agreed to limit temperature rise due to climate change to 20C and to reduce the emission of Green House Gases (GHG) which are causing the atmospheric temperature rise and thus the global climate change.

CO2is a GHG and thus CO2 emission from Coal power stations is considered as a major contributor to climate change. So should we going to consider long term least cost option of building more and more coal power stations for the sloution of power crisis or should we going for higher cost options? If we go for higher cost options peoples have to bear that cost. Btw the historical emissions of GHG by developing countries are insignificant compared to other developed countries.

However there is and would be tremendous pressure from environmental lobbies and external parties to reduce or stop further coal power development in the developing countries. So as a person who lives in a developing country how we should address this global issue. Your valuable thoughts are highly appreciated.

I think if someone tends to selling btc now is the same as buying between 18,000 - 20,000$.

RSI is now near the oversold levels and showing some indication of reversal, so what do you waiting for..just grab some btc now and thank me later Wink

Horseshit. Your acronyms mean nothing.
That's not my acronyms but "Welles Wilder" Tongue. Btw I said "indication" not "clear sign" of reversal. Hope you understand the difference Grin
