401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin increased my mental awareness on: January 21, 2023, 04:42:34 AM
indeed we have to be careful in storing our assets in our wallets, but in my opinion, we shouldn't get stressed thinking about it, and also sometimes being too careful too, will cause depression so that the mind becomes stressed, in my opinion, it's normal. because investing in bitcoin and crypto is definitely risky, and most importantly. don't put all of our wealth in bitcoin and crypto, because we won't know in the future.
The first and most important lesson to learn is to know how to secure your wallets and conveniently exchange them without any risk of restriction or draining from either authority or scammers.
Bitcoin is all about security and privacy and while we are at that, we are absolutely responsible for the security and usage of our coins.
Learning wallet security and how to protect our digital wealth is very important if we want to have a financially stable and secure financial journey.

Bitcoin security should be a priority, but that doesn't mean you have to spend all day with it figuring out how to secure it in different ways. Sometimes there's no need to be overly suspicious or make things more serious. Storing the private key is just like we try to store other important data, not too difficult. Make time for other things instead of spinning it all day, it won't make your life any better.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: January 21, 2023, 04:36:25 AM
If he shows up in the first place, he will attract the attention of the government and I am pretty sure they will find a way to get him to stop bitcoin, and most likely, we will not see bitcoin and crypto like nowadays. Or potentially a centralized and government-controlled version of bitcoin. But luckily, that didn't happen, and the government is having a lot of headaches when there is no way to stop bitcoin.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 20, 2023, 11:00:35 AM
Between paper wallet and hardware wallet which one is more superior than the other for Bitcoin? What matters the most to me is keeping your Bitcoin keys offline and which one is best practice for this? Years back paper wallet triumph over everything until hardware wallet came and every advice on the forum now is get a hardware wallet.

Which paper wallet generator still functions today? Also is there any risk using paper wallet apart from keeping the phrase offline?

It's been a long time since I've heard anyone mention paper wallets anymore, maybe it's not as popular as they used to be. But between a paper wallet and a hardware wallet, of course, a hardware wallet will be better and a more perfect choice. I have also used both and hardware wallet is definitely my choice, I really feel very safe using hardware wallet to store my crypto assets.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Genesis Bankrupt, Impact on BTC? on: January 20, 2023, 10:56:09 AM
Today they have officially filed for bankruptcy but so far have not had any negative impact on the market. Honestly, I hadn't even heard of Genesis until they announced to stop withdrawing their users. Shows that they are not an influential force in the market like other companies. If this were the demise of the parent company DGC, then that would be a different story.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had known on: January 20, 2023, 10:52:41 AM

No one can steal your bitcoin.

Anyone can steal your bitcoins if you don't know how to keep them safe. Bitcoin is safe because when you own bitcoin, you are your bank, your assets are not controlled by 3rd parties. But it's also extremely risky if you don't know how to store them safely. What you describe about bitcoin shows that you need to have more knowledge about it before thinking of further investment in bitcoin.

Liverpool are also preparing for a move to sign Ruben Neves after Newcastle have started to be interested in him.

As you know Liverpool have been in search of a decent attacking midfielder for a long time. They had an eye on Bellingham and in fact they still have. However Real Madrid seem very likely to sign him as the player is eager to choose them over Liverpool. However I don't know if Neves would be a good choice for Liverpool to solve the problems in the midfield. Neves is a decent player but I think it would be better for Liverpool to sign a more skilled midfielder. I'm sure they can find the right player if they become a little more patient.

Of course, Jude Bellingham is going to choose Real Madrid over Liverpool. Real Madrid is currently performing well and far better compared to Liverpool. Liverpool has just not been up to the mark this season. So, it is hard for them to attract any player right now. And that is the reason why they are not being able to get Jude Bellingham.

But at the same time, I will say that Rúben Neves is also not a bad player. Actually, he is a quite good and good proof to be a good player for Liverpool. He's going to bring good quality and depth to the squad.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 16, 2023, 10:37:47 PM
Sinner really started the AO fantastically - Edmund is a decent player and he managed to get only 6 games.
Based on the result alone, Nadal looked comfortable as well.
The biggest disappointment so far is (again) Borna Čorić, losing in straight sets against Jiri Lehečka.
Kyrgios withdrew from the tournament due to injury - which is a shame. I had him as one of the favorites.
Nadal looked very comfortable indeed, but yeah, I think I remember reading Trofo saying about Nick's chances and I don't think we're alone in thinking he could go far, but knee injury means he's out. Big shame really, crowd favourite and he brings a lot to the entertainment factor.
Two epics going on now. Fucsovics looks like he'll make it but Wawrinka seems set to be another bad AO outing.

It has to be said that Wawrinka played very well in this match. However, there was also a lot of skillful play from his opponent Alex Molcan and I cannot say that this is a match in which there was a deserving winner. However, I think that after a match like this, we are all going to agree that whoever won, is the deserving winner of such an event. As far as Wawrinka is concerned, he has actually been a little unlucky.

408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 16, 2023, 10:33:27 PM
Actually, I think Sri Lanka had a lot of pressure. Because the target was really big. And Sri Lanka was under pressure from the start of the chase. But there is no excuse for them to perform so badly like this. In the first match, Sri Lanka at least tried to reach the total. And the score which they reached was actually decent and respectable. But this time things did not work out for them. They got all out for 72. That is just a shameful performance from Sri Lanka.
For India, it was a record-breaking Sunday, but for Sri Lanka, it was an embarrassing one. As a result of pressure, Sri Lanka did not play well. Against a formidable Indian bowling attack, Sri Lanka produced one of their weakest innings. I congratulate the Indian cricket team on their highest-ever win over Sri Lanka. It has been a promising start to the New Year for India.
Sirlanka didn't even try to win , they performed ok before in t20 and previous ODI but this was some horrible performance by them. Yes their victory was difficult yesterday as India gave a huge target but atleast they could have fought for their pride and respect.  73 all out was not good for a team like Sirlanka.

I think we are not giving enough credit to the Indian bowling lineup. They have actually done well in this match and also in this series in my opinion. But the thing is the Indian players have batted so well that the spotlight never went on the bowlers. They have also done a very good job. Tomorrow India is going to play against New Zealand. India will be very confident to win this series against New Zealand as well. Especially after such a good performance against Sri Lanka.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 16, 2023, 10:29:11 PM
Canada and Mexico will host only 10 games each. USA will host 60! Total of 80 matches for the next World Cup. Probably there will be logistics to not exhaust players when travelling from one place to another.
I didn't know that and doesn't feel fair at all because the ones who will print with that event will be USA while the 3 of them have to spend a lot of money for the event. I think the matches should be split into the same amount of games for each country because doesn't worth making the infrastructure and the conditions in a country only for 10 games. I feel like Mexico and Canada will lose a lot of money with this.
That's fair, for what the countries spend they'll make some revenue. Now it is the USA to make big money out of the event and giving just the name as the host for Mexico and Canada. Anyhow this is gonna cost the countries as well as the people who wish to watch the matches. Because travelling between the countries will surely cost them much and it can't be expected to be the same as the event in Qatar. The best part of Qatar, all levels of people were able to watch the matches due to the affordable cost which won't be possible with the upcoming season.

I do not know correctly but there has to be some internal politics that has caused Canada and Mexico to host such few games. But the thing I'm concerned most about is the health of players because traveling such distances is going to be really hectic for the players. Because these countries are huge in size and it takes days to travel from one to another.

But I think wasting so much money only to host 10 games makes zero sense to me.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 16, 2023, 10:21:35 PM
As a result of PSG's defeat, the competition for points in the temporary standings has become even more fierce because there is not such a large distance between the teams in the top three for now. I also didn't expect why PSG could be beaten by Rennes, even though Neymar and Messi also played in that match, but they also couldn't score goals to save PSG from losing to Rennes even though that also didn't change PSG's position as top of the standings.
Did you see the reverse statistic? It was precisely Rennes who had more opportunities than Paris Saint Germain, they were only superior in possession. However, their mastery of the match did not allow them to win this match by losing to the hosts with a narrow score.
I don't know if I'm happy or sad about this result. The reason is, the defeat of Paris Saint Germain opened up opportunities for other teams to get closer. This will make the competition in Ligue 1 even more interesting because they have very tight points. It can also make the league even more competitive.
As a result, PSG has suffered two defeats in the last three league games! It's part of the game to lose, and as long as this result makes the league more competitive, I'm happy. Whatever the case may be, winning all the time makes football seem boring and uninteresting. It is unacceptable for PSG to have such statistics since only one shot was on target in the whole game. Just three points separate them from the top of Ligue 1.

At this point, I really don't get what the problem is with PSG. Is it their lack of chemistry in the attack in the trio? Or is it their lack of quality midfielders involved in the build-up? Or is it that Mauricio Pochettino is not being able to coach them properly and set the right tactics?

At this point, I really think that all of these are accumulatively becoming problems for PSG. Losing against a mid-tier team like Rennes is unacceptable from a team who has world-class players in fact the best players in the world. I will not be surprised if PSG fails to win the league.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 16, 2023, 10:12:16 PM
Did you watch the Spanish Super Cup final which Barcelona just won. Barcelona played like crazy to win trophies, the struggles of Barcelona players were not in vain, they managed to beat Real Madrid with a landslide score.
Let's compare the Super Cup competition with the Europa League, it's impossible that Barcelona don't care about the Europa League trophy. The Europa League competition is more prestigious, of course Xavi will prioritize the Europa League this season, especially since Barcelona failed in the final last season.
I'm sure Xavi's priority right now will be La Liga, especially since after beating Real Madrid they will have enough self-confidence to keep their lead. Barcelona won't mind winning the EL as well, but the first game will be against the MU, who are also in great shape right now and they beat City this weekend. We can say that both clubs are close to their optimal form, it should be a very interesting confrontation.
I also have no doubt about this Xavi is having first priority in La Liga because if they are able to win this definitely it would be good for them as in next season they can do better with confidence and having something to cheer as well.
But, if they have good performance and confidence then surely they can beat Manchester United in Europa Cup as well because right now they have just three points lead and Real Madrid is also trying their best for narrowing this all because they are also defending two titles with few injuries issue, but things can change any time for them as well they have good players, but their moral is currently down with they need to wake up nothing specially which is currently missing from their side.

I must start by saying that Barcelona deserves this win. As they have now won the final against Real Madrid, they are competitors for the La Liga title, they will now be very confident about winning La Liga altogether. Barcelona is currently on top of the La Liga table with 41 points, while Real Madrid is three points behind with 38 points in the same amount of matches played. If Barcelona is able to hold onto their good form, I am pretty sure that they have a really good chance of winning the league because the Real Madrid defense is struggling in recent times which could be a big matter that Barcelona can exploit.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 16, 2023, 10:00:06 PM
I am quite happy with nothing goal in 1st half, which mean all club play defensively and wait for a counter attack. but after a break, The City begins to offensive and is able to break MU's defense and goal. On the other side, I agree Pep changed Fodden to Grealish which make the city be impressive but on another side, that strategy changed, which made MU able to break center and surprise, they are busy attacking, and forget to hold the defense that makes MU won the match.
Honestly I was very happy with and amused by the match this time. Man United and Man City displayed a desire to win, although I see indeed Man City excelled slightly in possession of the ball. So several times they forced the Man United players to defend.
But Ten Hag's move to include Garnacho was quite effective. Casemiro and Freed also performed well they continued to be in front of defenders and left Bernado Silva and Foden unable to move freely.
Erik Ten Hag succeeded with the strategy implemented in this match. Casemiro is one of the names that has appeared very riveting many times when he was able to break the attack that was built by Manchester City. Even though they were behind earlier, Manchester United were able to turn things around with the 2 goals they scored and they were able to keep it until the end of the game.
Manchester United can slowly make themselves better, game to game they can always be consistent with their performances. Their opportunity to be in competition for the title is very open.

I think how Ten Hag played his tactics was spot on. As Manchester City has a lot of attacking players like Phil Foden, Silva, Haaland, and KDB, Ten Hag played the double pivot with Casemiro and Fred. This helped Manchester United's defender well because as we know Casemiro is a world-class central defensive midfielder and he played a huge role in holding off Manchester City's main player Erling Haaland.

Now let's try to discuss another match in the last 16 of the UCL between Frankfurt vs Napoli. In the first leg Frankfurt will host, it seems they don't need to hesitate because of course the support of fans will fill the stadium. Meanwhile, Napoli, who came as guests in this match, will definitely want to score goals as an aggregate capital when the second leg will be held at their home. Do you think Napoli can get a win in the first leg later? considering their performance is very consistent in the regular league. Smiley
It is possible that Napoli can win when they travel to Frankfurt headquarters. Their form has been consistent and they haven't shown any signs of slowing down after this break even though they lost to Inter Milan in Serie A. Napoli carry great hopes of qualifying from the round of 16. Frankfurt itself certainly does not want them to be humiliated in front of their own supporters. They will definitely try their best to get a win in the first leg, and become capital for them when the match is in the second leg at home to Napoli.
Napoli has clean record of good performance in the Champions league this season, from the their  performance in the Champions league they strength to qualifying from the round 16. Am so convinced about Napoli's performance that they will victory over Frankfurt.

I think the match between Napoli versus Frankfurt is going to be an interesting one. I think I am going to side with Napoli this game as they seem like the superior side between the two. Napoli are currently the best team in Italian League with 15 wins in 18 games but Frankfurt are having a hard time in their respective league. Even though the match is in Frankfurt’s home, I think Napoli have the edge over them.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 16, 2023, 09:46:21 PM
Currently Leverkusen are in 12th place in the standings which is very bad and Leverkusen should be in a better position like last season which was in the top 4. But indeed sometimes there are times when a club is in a state of underperformance and that is also what Leverkusen is experiencing.
what happened to Leverkusen was a setback. this is not good for a club like Leverkusen to experience. but this season they look bad. I don't know what happened, but they didn't do much to show the quality like the previous season.
their front line is not productive enough. They have conceded more goals than they have scored. there is something wrong with their current team. and I think it's too late they realize if they want to fix this time. it looks like this season, they will be stuck in the mid-table. there wasn't much they could do.
Leverkusen showed a very bad start to the season, unfortunately they couldn't get up quickly so we can see their current position. There is hope when in the last 3 matches they can win, what they have to do now is play well and gain point by point and make their position in the standings even better. There is no competition that requires them to share their focus, so they should be able to focus on the Bundesliga first. At least they are not at the bottom of the table, and they can try to come back better next season.

Bayern Leverkusen were always somewhat of a top mid-tier team. But this season they were all over the place and a reason for that has to be their poor start to the season. Currently, they have only won five games and lost seven while three of the matches were drawn. This is unacceptable from a team like Leverkusen. I think the manager has to fix his tactics in order for them to get back on track otherwise maybe the management has to look for some other coach in my opinion.
415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you sell off during the 21k price breach. on: January 16, 2023, 12:30:48 PM
I think institutions are buying to selloff their buy positions at a higher price, i think it is a bull trap.

Many people believe it's a sign of the bull season, and they're excited, the more people believe this is a bull run, the more I believe this is a trap. Just with the information that CPI dropped from 7.1% to 6.5%, people believe that bitcoin can increase in price is naive. Bitcoin price doesn't just depend on CPI, it takes a lot of reasons to get the bull season back at this point.
416  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: January 16, 2023, 12:23:36 PM
Not only China, many developed countries have also restricted the use of paper money and switched to digital or card payment methods. But the complete elimination of paper money is unlikely to happen in the next decade because in many places it can be said that the internet is limited, and smartphones are not yet widely used, so getting rid of paper money is very difficult.

Governments are going to need to provide the necessary tools to help spur the adoption of CBDCs worldwide. Otherwise, don't count on paper money disappearing anytime soon. I'm pretty sure we won't be using paper money forever, especially when the world evolves over time. The future of money is complete digitalization, so paper money in its current form will become history. China has been at the forefront of CBDC development, but it should only be a matter of time before other countries follow suit.

There are already plans among the world's superpowers to launch CBDCs of their own. The US and the EU have already announced their intentions of doing so. You can thank Bitcoin for helping banks rethink the way they issue/handle the world's money supply. They have no choice but to digitize Fiat or be left behind in the dust. No one knows what the future holds, so we can only hope for the best. Just my thoughts Grin

Honestly, we ordinary people also know that printing a lot of money will cause inflation, I don't think the government is stupid enough to not know that. It wasn't bitcoin that came along but we realized that the limited supply is good for the inflation it has shown with gold. Gold can be said to be a very limited supply because gold mining is not easy and challenging. I think that running an economy is not easy, while the population is increasing, supply and demand will be very difficult to handle and the restriction of printing paper money is not too difficult. But they didn't, they must have had a reason.
417  Economy / Economics / Re: My investments ahead of the 2024 halving 100% Bitcoin on: January 15, 2023, 03:24:47 PM
As most of us here are already aware that the bitcoin halving cycle always bring with it an opportunity for another Bitcoin all time high price, even though we can not predict when the exact time for this AHT will be but we are certain it will come.

At the moment I am I am intense face of portfolio accumulation and I will like to share them with some newbies who may be confused on how to prepare for the expected time and what their portfolio should look like.

This thread is not for speculation, but a personal contribution and suggestion as motivated by my personal decision against the next halving and I will share them with any one that like to read through the thread and also consider the comments of others that will go inline with your personal convictions.

What my portfolio consist of ahead of 2024 halving

To be sincere with you guys, I never give any thought for. Altcoin and as a newbie I have always been all in for bitcoin and I am very vocal about that, I have some friend who always try to convince me to buy some altcoins that they claim to be good and will give 10x profit at any opportunity, but I am not convince due to centralization of most of the altcoins.
So I can say that my portfolio is made up of 90% BTC and the remaining 10% as savings in case there will be further opportunity to buy BTC at a discount price.

So at this point I am all into BTC and nothing more.

That's good mate, you have a clear plans ahead on where and when you are going to invest your money. For me, I will start accumulating fiat that I will soon trade to bitcoin as well, I need to make all things to get more bitcoin before halving. We all know the effect of halving. If there's other coin that I want to invest as well will be eth and bnb.

I think now is also the right time to accumulate bitcoins, don't wait because we won't know if bitcoin is only going up in the short term and will fall again or bitcoin will rise from here and start a bull market. There is still no certainty that history will repeat itself, bitcoin will only increase in price after the halving, and things can still change.
418  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: January 15, 2023, 03:18:39 PM
I do not know, in China I do not think nowadays that is common to use cash, they actually perform electronic payments generally
Not only China, many developed countries have also restricted the use of paper money and switched to digital or card payment methods. But the complete elimination of paper money is unlikely to happen in the next decade because in many places it can be said that the internet is limited, and smartphones are not yet widely used, so getting rid of paper money is very difficult.
it is not only difficult but impossible to get rid of paper money, nowadays technology is very advanced and many people are carried away by that change but not all people can use the same things.
nowadays almost all corners of the world in big cities with big businesses can use electronic payments, that's a very natural thing in a very advanced world like today but with more and more growth and more and more things that won't erase or turn off paper money .
reduction in the circulation of paper money is of course very likely to occur but it will not be eliminated in any country.

Paper money has existed every year in China and is modified in use to this day. Although technology is changing the world, getting rid of paper money is actually extremely difficult. In my area, many people still do not know how to use smartphones, especially the elderly, whose families are too difficult. If they give up paper money, they will face a lot of difficulties
419  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 14, 2023, 06:21:01 AM
No matter how hard you try, poor people can be difficult to persuade to accept and invest in bitcoin, according to my crypto knowledge and people's enlightenment. They vehemently criticize whatever you show them or introduce them to. They are the ones who constantly inquire about how you manage your funds in order to live during this economic downturn.

Quote
The worst people to serve are the Poor people. Give them free, they think it's a trap. Tell them it's a small investment, they'll say can't earn much. Tell them to come in big, they'll say no money. Tell them try new things, they'll say no experience. Tell them it's traditional business, they'll say hard to do. Tell them it's a new business model, they'll say it's MLM. Tell them to run a shop, they'll say no freedom. Tell them run new business, they'll say no expertise.

They do have some things in common:

listen to friends who are as hopeless as them, they think more than a university professor and do less than a blind man.
How can we persuade the poor that without making investments and taking risks, they would not succeed in life? If they are looking for a financial breakthrough, they need become involved with anything because good things in life don't just fall into their laps. Life is about taking chances and seizing any opportunity that presents itself.

So have you become rich by investing in bitcoin?, if you are rich then you say they can trust you, but you still have nothing in hand then they have no reason to believe you. The poor have more pressing problems to deal with on a daily basis before thinking about investing, so don't belittle them when they don't take your advice.
It's quite funny because you are not richer than anyone but you can call others poor.
420  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 14, 2023, 06:14:48 AM

To make a living, we must work. In uncertain days like now facing the global economic downturn, a stable job with high income becomes a scarcity. A side job or business seems like more necessary than ever, which can minimize the risks of losing your current job, ending up pennyless. However, a side job/business also takes time and efforts and can never be attained whenever we need it. What did you do or will you do in order to ensure your finanical stability despite all unfavorable circumstances ?
Well, it is not easy to get financial stability, especially during the current economic crisis caused by the pandemic and war. I have never felt financially stable even though my income is increasing year by year. Currently, I have just worked 2 jobs and added investment, but to be honest, I have never found myself having a stable income before.
