I think that the problem will be on the liverpool. As far as i know that if liverpool was declining a lot on its performance while liverpool will be facing real madrid as the next opponent in the last 16. Real madrid's very consistent at this moment and it's still placed at the top 2 unlike liverpool which has been facing several loses against another team. that means if liverpool will be careful against real madrid caused by real madrid is also still trying to add more new players.
The transfer of cody gakpo to the liverpool didn't go so well caused by liverpool was facing a lose on his debut pretty much the same like what already done by chelsea.

There are players like Firmino and Diaz also among them. But even when at least one of them wasn't injured the team were still not performing at a very satisfying level. They haven't made a midfielder transfer which is another problem. It is difficult for them to bring a top midfielder in the middle of the season though. In addition to all of these, van Dijk is also injured now. The situation has become a nightmare for Liverpool and I don't know how much they will be able to motivate themselves for the Champions League while there is only a month left. The performance of Liverpool and Chelsea has dropped significantly when compared to last season. but in exchange there are other teams that perform better as for example, Arsenal, United, Newcastle, which are the best performing teams in the Premier League. Brighton looks like an experienced team in the match against liverpool. The weird thing is, both of these teams are UCL winners, and one of them were even in the finals last year. So, it is really weird for a team that managed to get the biggest title in football end up being this way just a bit later. I do not understand the reasons behind it, but I can easily say that neither will win it this year.
