yes! that was the one I was looking for. bamtlinux.org looks to be down. Any links that you know to d/l install etc?

Yeah, its been down for a while.  Part of the reason why it was never updated, the creator wasnt receiving donations.  Dont know any mirrors, but I am sure you can find it out in torrent land somewhere.
402  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BFL is shipping on: May 02, 2013, 05:10:34 PM
I confirmed,,,, I confirmed..  Cool
How to confirm an account? I do not see anywhere button YES / NO. You may send a text message reply?

Once you create an account (if you havent already) and log in, there is a pop up where you can either accept, or request a refund.
I see a "print order / reorder." What exactly does it say? Thank you.

When you log in, it should be a pop up that wont let you continue until  you either acccept, or refund.  You account should say "processing"  If it doesnt, or you are concerned about your status, drop a message to their support and confirm your status.

BAMT. A Linux/Debian OS meant to do nothing but boot and mine.  I have 2 units running it.

405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Money into Dwolla safely? on: May 02, 2013, 01:58:30 PM
I don't like the fact of any place holding a direct link to a bank account. I dont care how many questions you need to answer to access the account or make a transaction, the ability of the website to secure its database is what's in question.  But it seems that mostly all the services pawn off that actual money transfer to a different site that takes it directly from your bank, or has very high fees. Does anyone know a better method of funding a Dwolla account?

The good thing about Dwolla is that it uses ACH to do its transactions, because it is bank backed.  Why does that matter? Because if there is fraud you can file a dispute against the charge with your bank and they will investigate and if found to be fraud then you will be refunded your money.  Also why its always better to run your debit card as a credit card.  If its run as a credit card and there is fraud, then you can dispute it.  If you do it as a debit transaction with pin number, there isnt much you can do because no one is supposed to know your pin number but you so the banks automatically assume you did it, or that you gave your pin to someone and trusted them with your account.
406  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Best Practices: Stratum Mining Proxies ? on: May 02, 2013, 01:53:39 PM
Im pretty sure that is one of the main reasons why pools are going to stratum, because its supposed to be pool-hoping proof.

To be clear, I am not looking to hop; looking for a central place to get an at-a-glance view of what's going on with my farm rather than having to rely on site stats to manage my miners.

To my understanding, pool-hopping-for-profit is pretty much infeasible, presently.

I see, well the combating of pool-hoping may have unfortunately for you also, for the time being, hamstrung your ability to do this as well.

I had paid on April for the new 5GHs units for 274$ and i dont have any email, I supose this email is only for the Jalapenos orders.

LOL!! All of you people and your recent orders, I've been on order since July 2012.

Not sure where you got the address, or what you are looking to connect to, but I use EclipseMC, and the address should be us2.eclipsemc.com:8337

Bitcoins or Litecoins?  What are your other settings (clock speed, memory speed, voltage, etc)?
411  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BAMT locking half way through boot on: May 02, 2013, 12:57:51 PM
Ok it seems that it's the graphics cards - if I only have one plugged in (at x16) it boots fine.

Windows has been stable for almost 24h now, so I may not need BAMT after all.

If I ever go back to BAMT I'll try booting with 1 card, running the updates then booting with more cards.

Thanks for the suggestions.

That would do it too. If you have a bad GPU, it could cause loading issues.  Or if you have a bad PCI-E slot that could do it as well.  Could be a power issue.  It could be a number of things.  All the fun that comes with running these things.  Good luck.
412  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Auto restart CGMiner under linux on: May 01, 2013, 04:50:42 PM
Hi! I'm wondering if there is a way of automatically restarting cgminer after one of GPUs failure under linux, something like cgwatcher for windows would be great. Maybe some kind of script would do the job? I don't know linux scripting at all Sad Does BAMT has some kind of tool for restarting cgminer if it fails?

Unless there is something that is specifically developed for Linux, like CGWatcher, I dont think there is a way for it to automatically restart its self.  BAMT doesnt have that, but it does have a configuration that will send you an email if you stop mining.  You can set it up to go to like a Gmail account, and then have it sent as an SMS to your phone so you get notification of when it goes down.
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost $8400 in my Mt account because the hacker and Mt's slow support service on: May 01, 2013, 04:44:48 PM
He must have downloaded something... Some sort of a virus that exploits a web browser or java vulnerability or sniffs for the passwords and then sends mail ^_^.

If you didn't download anything, you should have been safe... Nobody will remotely exploit your computer at random for your MTgox password. They'd have to know who you are and how much money you have....

So 99% you downloaded a virus and that was the end of it.

While most of the time that is true, there are times where it isnt on the user.  Look back to last summer when Gox had a huge breach and a bunch of peoples accounts were compromised.  Wasnt anything I did, was all on their side.
414  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost $8400 in my Mt account because the hacker and Mt's slow support service on: May 01, 2013, 03:25:34 PM
You may always want to get a Yubi Key from Gox as well.

If you order YubiKey from MtGox:
a) you pay the courier from the parcel company,
b) you pay MtGox in advance
c) you are billed later from your deposit at MtGox
d other?

Thanks

Depends. If Gox covers you, then you have nothing out of pocket.  I got mine free.  They sent a friend of mine an email offering him a free one.  He didnt use it so he gave me the redemption code.  When I went to order it, I put in the code, and it paid for everything, including shipping.
415  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - GPU0: invalid nonce - HW error on: May 01, 2013, 03:01:45 PM
Ive read this a couple of times and it seems to be the same cards being the problem.  Solutions I have seen are:

1) Upgrade CG to at least 3.0.1
2) Roll back your drivers to 12.8

If you are using it for gaming, you might have to decide whether or not you are going to mine if you want the updated drivers for gaming, otherwise just stick to the 12.8 ones that will keep CG happy and still allow you to game.

Apologies in advance, but I read back to where the attack happened, and I must say I saw my payout after the fact so thank you for that. And I know you stated last week that you had to work out the finances for the coins borrowed and other things, but any update/ETA for when PPS will return?
417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost $8400 in my Mt account because the hacker and Mt's slow support service on: May 01, 2013, 02:07:22 PM
I feel ya.  I didnt lose nearly that much, just a few hundred dollars, but thats exactly why I do not keep my money in Gox anymore, I keep it in my own wallet, and only transfer coins to Gox the day I am going to sell them, as soon as they hit, I sell, then take my money and send them out to Dwolla.

You may always want to get a Yubi Key from Gox as well.  At least they can do is hook you up with a free one because of their slow response.
418  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BAMT locking half way through boot on: May 01, 2013, 01:45:37 PM
Just a suggestion, because I know my BAMT installation on one of my systems got a little hosed when first attempting to update CGMiner, but why not just try a clean install and start from the beginning?
419  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: HOW TO UPDATE CGMINER on BAMT 0.5.c on: April 30, 2013, 04:12:15 PM
Since I like to ask questions that apparently have already been answered, yet I am completely oblivious to, is there a way/how do you check what version of CGMiner you are running?

cgminer --version

Proof I dont know squat about Linux/Debian/etc.  Tried this in the root window, no go.  So there is something thats fairly obvious to everyone else that I am completely missing.

You need to include the explicit path to cgminer, if it's not in your PATH variable.

/opt/miners/cgminer/cgminer --version

Gotcha, thanks for the help.
