401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage and misaligned expectations on: July 18, 2019, 03:30:13 AM
I believe there are some people in the community who are in the standpoint that "Bitcoin isn't successful" unless they can use it for "almost-zero fee" coffee transactions. But is it truly a failure?

It depends on what basis one considers. As far as I am concerned, I don't think Bitcoin is not successful. But I also admit that its success is rather limited. If the real goal of Bitcoin is to be used as a currency then there is some failure in it because people, I mean the really huge majority, prefer to HODL it and not even spend a Satoshi. I am not sure but that might prod Satoshi Nakamoto himself to think whether there is something wrong with how Bitcoin evolved over time.
402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One week in Bitcoin July 2019 on: July 18, 2019, 02:55:27 AM
I love it when there's news that the banks are actually the bad guys. The op posted that JP Morgan says Bitcoin is for drugs, and then there're drugs covered by JP Morgan. A lot of banks stand up against Bitcoin under the pretense of fighting money laundering, and then appear scandals of these same banks laundering money. What's sad is that many people somehow manage not to see the news about banks being drug dealers and launderers, but see these kinds of accusations against Bitcoin and take them seriously.
Bitcoin is doing good now, and the articles don't affect the price that much anymore, and that's great.

Right, it is very ironic how banks is against bitcoin because of money laundering but then they themselves are the primarily doing it, it is indeed very sad that bitcoin was blamed for these reason and for almost everything and they don't even bother to look at the good side of bitcoin which helped a lot of people. In my opinion whether it is bitcoin or not crimes can happen it just that companies most especially big ones has the power to hide it from the public.

It seems that Donald Trump who a few days ago published negative tweets against Bitcoin caused a huge wave of FUD in the global crypto exchange market. Prices for almost all crypto currencies fell by -20% from recent highs.

Crypto currencies and other financial assets can facilitate unlawful behavior such as money laundering, and of course, the police should curb this illegal activity by tracking blockchains. But in my opinion, Bitcoin is a decentralized peer-to-peer ecosystem that has a good common purpose for people from all over the world.
Soon after the tweet from Trump more controversy about the same has been getting circulated around the market. Some believe it is the tweet that has caused the downfall in the market of bitcoin followed by the altcoins.

Being peer to peer, it can be used without any form of difficulty even if governments impose restrict on the use of cryptocurrencies. The technology and bitcoin together has got a good cause as stated above.

Haha yes but who really cares about what he says? There is no one in here who will be selling their coins just because of a tweet that was probably posted by one of his community managers. Nothing more than this.

And even if the tweet was really done by Trump's fingers themselves, I doubt if someone will still sell because of it. Right now, because of the track record of this man, whatever pronouncements he makes bears little credibility already. People take his words with a grain of salt. Therefore, this is not going to affect what people think of Bitcoin. If I know, they might even do the complete opposite and buy Bitcoin.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't get your hopes too high on: July 18, 2019, 02:35:25 AM
Don't get your hopes too high when promoting bounty projects especially bounties with very high allocations like in millions of $$$ ,they are never the same again unlike in the past ,all you have to do now is just depend on yourself and promote good projects and wait for end results.

My advice is that you should not get your hopes too high even if the bounty allocation is not in the millions of dollars. If only we have the statistics, it would show that at least 90% of the bounties here in the altcoin section are failure. Moreover, it is not easy to hit that 10% legitimate projects. We just have to get our job of reviewing the projects high in order to end up getting paid for all our efforts.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Question on: July 18, 2019, 02:10:46 AM
Is it normal that projects will not pay bounty rewards because their sales doesnt reached the target?

Is the bounty manager will be liable to here even its not in their control that ICO failed?

I want to joined Soc Med campaign but I read somewhere that some projects really dont pay at end because of ICO failure.

Many ICOs that failed cannot move forward anymore. Most of them will return all the investments. And since they will not anymore mint any coin, the bounty hunters will also receive nothing in return. Projects conduct ICO with softcaps. This is based on the minimum amount of resources the project need in order for them to be able to move forward and develop their product. Failing this is also failing to meet their minimum target.

Also, bounty managers do not have any control of this.

406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The End of Bear Market, Confirmed!! on: July 17, 2019, 08:17:09 AM
Who says the bear market is finally over? No, not yet. The bear is about to hibernate but it has not yet fallen into sleep. Obviously. This is also as far as some articles are concerned. That means the bull market is not yet here. The bull market will be within the 3rd quarter I hope. And it will go beyond $15,000. Any movement less than that is also less than a bull market. $14,000 is simply a bear which is already sleepy but is still awake.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest battle for Bitcoin's life is coming on: July 17, 2019, 07:33:46 AM
Do you care to give us a little clue? Without which, this would appear another common FUD. The battles that Bitcoin has been fighting are numerous. It cannot be counted anymore. In fact, Bitcoin has died a countless times. It has been buried for the nth time. In the earliest years of Bitcoin's existence, especially in its infancy, there was almost no one who believed in it. Is there a harder battle to wage than starting it with only a handful of believers and the most powerful people of the government and the banking industry against it?
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine that you're new to crypto now on: July 17, 2019, 06:44:50 AM
If I am new to crypto today, I would try to get to know Bitcoin thoroughly. I would like to know what it is, why is it made in the first place, who are the people behind it, why does it have a value so huge nowadays, and how probably will it fare in the future. I would not think of buying very early. When I first heard of Bitcoin, I was doubtful as to its legitimacy, I was not eager to buy. But when I came to familiarize it and the possibility that it will further rise, it was then that I decided I have to buy.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO & IEO at the same time possible? on: July 17, 2019, 03:33:00 AM
Hello Bitcointalk Community,

i wondered if it is possible to do an ICO and an IEO at the same time?

Can i spread the total supply for fundraising and use half of it for an IEO and the other one for an ICO ?

I am looking forward to an response.

Kind Regards

Marian

Most of the responses are comparing IEO and ICO. Many are correct that IEO is the prevailing trend these days. ICO is a thing of the past more or less. But it is not the question of the OP.

The question is whether it is possible to conduct IEO and ICO at the same time. I guess it is possible. I cannot find a reason why it is not. It is actually up to you to conduct an ICO over IEO or IEO over ICO. So it is also up to you if you prefer to split it up between ICO and IEO. You may also do it simultaneously or one after the other, but preferably ICO before IEO.

414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STREAMITY ICO --->Decentralized cryptocurrency exchange<--- on: July 05, 2019, 09:35:11 AM
May i know the list of exchanges where STM is listed.I want to sell my STM but on streamdesk wallet is not imported always showing invalid data.If any othee exchange is there kindly mention here.

Thank you

There is no exchange information so we are still waiting for official Ann, I hope this project continues and we can get big profits, I also want to sell some of my STM that I got from ICO.
Still there is no news about this project .Is there any progress on this project or its just like lots of dead project happened in 2018 . I am waiting team to respond in ANN thread.

Well, it seems another promising project is about to die. It is sad. I really have high hopes in Streamity but then it seems it is not going to be met soon.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STREAMITY ICO --->Decentralized cryptocurrency exchange<--- on: March 04, 2019, 11:48:59 AM
They had such a long ICO and it finally ended recently. Tell me, has the token already been added to any exchange? If not, then on which exchanges you plan to add the token?

How long exactly? Their bitcointalk initial announcement came out ages ago so if it only finished up recently, that is a massive length of time for an ICO!

I read in their telegram channel that is already in Mercatox, but unfortunately, the price is 50% lower than it's ICO price it's kinda disappointing but they promised that they will get their exchange in full blast and will add Bitcoin and STM and will do a lot of promotion that is all they badly needed.

This is experienced by all types of Altcoin for now because the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum are unstable. I'm a little sad with prices far below what I have described.

Exactly, the entire market is really bearish. We cannot expect a newcomer altcoin such as STM to perform much better than the rest. Even Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two largest cryptocurrencies are not immune to a bleeding market. As a matter of fact, the newest ones are most affected by such a poor market right now. We just need to be patient.
crypto market is not in good situation everything is falling. BTC and eth fall alot in two days
bearish trend is part of trading but its not mean that their is no place for new altcoins
new altcoins comers with advertising and marketing doing good in current market situation. most of them are falling but no much price going down with the base currency.

Maybe we will return to the price of Bitcoin 2 years ago because at that time Bitcoin really had a cheap price and not as high as the current price. Everyone is starting to worry about investing next year.

The wiser ones, those who understand what is currently happening with the market, are not worried. On the contrary, they are making their portfolio fatter. Only those who have less knowledge, those who are weak, are getting out with huge losses.

Investing should be made this year because the following year would be the total opposite of what's going on in 2018.

Crypto's journey does make many assumptions and this will be good learning for people who are able to deal with the market situation.
A good chance at this time to be able to have more coins and will improve the situation next year. Streamity has the opportunity to get back up and be valuable.

A lot of things will grow in 2019 because everyone expects that there will be a good thing that year that will reverse the situation that happened this year.
What is certain is that everyone also hopes that the same as you, including me, but even so, I think cryptocurrency cannot be predicted simply because it is difficult so we will see what happens in 2019

Just hope, can't be sure of what will happen next year because good or bad things will happen this year. Pray.  Wink
Yes, it is true that after all we can only hope for the best for the year 2019 especially since the world of cryptocurrency is difficult to predict so inevitably we must follow the developments in order not to miss information

If you are still here maybe you get clear information about the crypto that will occur next year. Pray something good will happen that year for everyone who has been waiting.
I think there is no doubt that everyone will also pray for the best in 2019 because in 2018 crypto is far from what people expect so we just wait for what happens next year

We have gone through 2019 but there is no good thing waiting this year and prices are stable at prices like that. What steps do we take next? Are we going to wait for the following year?

Chill out, mate! We have not yet gone through the entire 2019. We have just begun. And so far, although we have yet to really see the bulls coming, the bears are already gone. I hope that will be a good signal of a market that makes the losses in 2018 just a thing of the past.

I also hope that even if the market has not yet recovered, the Streamity team is still working out the best plan for the best roll out of their product.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All bankers hate BTC, am I right? on: January 11, 2019, 11:32:09 AM
No, you are probably wrong. Remember that the bankers, I mean many of them, those who are employees or only hired for their services are not really serving their bosses wholeheartedly. There are bankers who are there because there is so much money in there. The enemy of Bitcoin are those who are not only bankers but bank owners. They are the ones who are exploiting not just the poor but also their very own workforce. They are treating them like robots, puppets who are only there to make the owners a lot richer.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I know the trustworthyness of a new coin? on: January 11, 2019, 11:01:55 AM
Hi people,
I am relatively new in this field. Having done some "trading" of alt coins in 2018, I would like to seek the opinion of more experienced traders and hopefully gain an insight as to how can I better differentiate coins with higher potential and coins which are basically crap.

Thanks in advance!

You need to read updates, news, and other developments of the coins. You need to follow them through their website, social media pages, ANN threads, and other outlets where you will get them updates. There is no other way but to do this. Of course these are the fundamentals. You will also be gaining good strategies if you study and learn the different patterns of trading. That is, if you want to know the technical side of the rise and fall of prices.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect your wallet from hackers on: January 10, 2019, 10:32:17 PM
This is one of the ways to at least provide additional layer of safety to your coins. If your wallet address is made public, it is always brought into a different level of risk as compared to a wallet whose address you and only you are aware of. Of course, private keys should be treated with utmost care. It is the life of your wallet. Also, you can maintain several wallets. Sometimes it is just too risky to put everything in a single basket. I do that myself. If I become a victim of a hacking incident, that will not be an end to all my coins.
419  Economy / Economics / Re: If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin on: January 10, 2019, 12:49:40 PM
If the stocks market will crash again like 2008, what will happen to bitcoin?
I personally think that people will take their money out and will invest it somewhere else.

Do you think that bitcoin will be a good alternative?

I think it is very probable. The investors might find it better to invest their money elsewhere. They are investors. They do not just let their money sleep, earning small or nothing. The stock market is now getting uncertain. Well, crypto is also uncertain but the catch is that it could grow their investment double or more so quickly that the stock market cannot equal. The news talks of the Winklevoss twins, George Soros, Mark Cuban, and so many other huge investors getting into crypto. A lot will probably do the same.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC never approve Bitcoin ETF? on: January 10, 2019, 12:14:42 PM
It does not matter anymore. Let the SEC remain the bitter antagonist in the growth of Bitcoin. At the end of the day, the SEC is always going against Bitcoin because it is a government agency. And even if it is not open to the public, the SEC is a slave of the rich elite who are also the bankers and the ones who are dictating the decisions of the government. Sooner or later, they will be left with no other choice but to follow the voice of the majority of the people. And that is the use of Bitcoin in their day to day life. Approved or not, Bitcoin has already been approved by the people.
