Hello I'm a new user and a long time trader (well maybe not as long as some, since 2014) and heavily support bitcoin as a long term hodl even to alt coin traders.. I try to give sound advice about how bitcoin functions as a trunk and all other currencies are the branches.   Here are a few of my posts that I think show my desire of bitcoin and trading.. and helping noobies especially.

The most in-depth thought process these old cadavers have had lately is determining what pudding flavor they had for lunch. Would any of you actually take investing advice from any of these senile old turds? Then you may as well take investing advice from this guy:

404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If convicted, will Tether USDT crash the markets? on: February 14, 2018, 07:11:01 PM
That depends on your definition of crash. Some will see a crash as they bought in at $9k and the usd exchange rate drops to $8k. This might happen but was it really bitfinex and tether that caused it? Some people see crash as bitcoin usd exchange rate is below $1. Never gonna happen.

Will it impact the market at all? Of course it will in the short term. Everything impacts the market to some degree. Will it have a lasting long term effect? Of course not.
405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin need to improve? on: February 14, 2018, 06:27:39 PM
I think we need to find out the way to improve Bitcoin transaction speed. For these days we need to wait about 30 minutes or maybe more than that to receive enough 6 confirm to complete a Bitcoin transaction, I think it's really long. Although there are so many transaction accelerate service but they're not really good and sometime it doesn't work. Hope that we will never having to see thousands Bitcoin transaction stuck or pending for too long anymore Smiley

I know huh, that’s really fucking slow and costs a lot.

Banks

CBA  Commonwealth: 2 to 5 days $50+
ANZ: 2 days $35+
Westpac: 3-7 days $25-$75
NAB: 3 days $45

Specialists

OFX : 1 to 3 days they want a percentage of your money
Transferwise: 3 to 5 days they want a percentage of your money
HiFX: 3 to 5 days they want a percentage of your money

Other

Paypal - 1 - 2 days they want a percentage of your money
Western Union: 3 days for above $5k they want a percentage of your money
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin need to improve? on: February 14, 2018, 06:13:46 PM
That’s a very subjective question. It all depends on what you want bitcoin to be.

Do you want it to be an easy way to send money to people without a nanny (bank) looking over your shoulder, analyzing everything you do and sending a report to the government about your actions? Would you like to be able to send money around the world without paying an oppressive dictatorship (bank) for the privilege of doing it? Then don’t change anything because bitcoin already does that.

Are you more interested in atomic swaps between cryptocurrencies? Then you need to support Lightning network development.

Do you primarily want bitcoin to be a vehicle for enhanced features like decentralized crowdfunding and distributed exchanges? Then you need to support projects like Omni Layer.

Do you have one specific requirement for your cryptocurrency like buying illegal drugs, guns, supporting terrorists, secretly paying prostitutes? Then you need to drop bitcoin and support altcoins like Monero.

Are you in love with your bank, your government and hate decentralization? Would you really like to modernize the banking system and help them speed up the oversight of your pathetic little life? Then you need to support Ripple.

Bitcoin can work for its originally intended purpose right now without any “improvements”.

Well I know I don't "need" merit, but I am trying to get to 1k before my activity reaches 777ish so I can see how "lucky" I am to become legendary

Some posts I think are good:

I like the “bitpenny” thread. I would help you for the merit abusers thread alone. 20 merit awarded.
408  Other / Meta / Re: Lets Break The QuestionAuthority NOW !!! on: February 14, 2018, 04:10:56 PM
Wow, that’s pretty detailed. I don’t think there’s any hiding that I’m a merit source now. LOL

I’m giving away merit because it’s supposed to be given away. Even when I’m no longer a source I will still always give away everything that I have because that’s what merit is for. Merit is not bitcoin it can’t be sold and shouldn’t be horded.

Every Legendary member received nearly 200 merit at the beginning of this system so I should be seeing more people in the stats page with over 100 merit given. If you’re all waiting to give merit to Ralph Waldo Emerson or Henry David Thoreau type posts then you are never going to give it away and you’re helping the forum fail to control the one thing I’ve seen you all bitch about.

I’m giving away merit to help everyone rank up except shit posters that are only here to make money. It doesn’t matter what section you post in or what you say as long as it’s a productive discussion.

I also give away merit for two other reasons. If the subject should have more exposure I give it merit. That means more people should know about it for some reason (in other words it can help them). I also give merit to highlight important topics that might be difficult for some people to find. I was going to highlight the thread explaining activity but I saw that someone already did.

Everyone should be giving merit to people participating in discussions all over the forum all the time. Even if someone disagrees with you and argues with you give them merit because they’re doing something other than posting one stupid line to rank up.

For the full news coverage check out my YouTube Video:  Breaking News: Tether , a problem or just FUD...

Do you guys think this is real? Or do you think that it is just a coincidence that Tether isn't getting an audit.

Tether could be the missing link here. I guess time will tell what is tether up to.

What tether is up to is:

This asshole

And this asshole

Are stealing everyone’s money just like this asshole did:

In the last weeks and months the number of Newbies and Juniors who have come here only for airdrops and bounties has become huge. These appalling "You project look nice I support sir" spamming posts for just another fake shitcoin airdrop are chasing away people who actually might have something interesting to share. A lot of referral link posting too...  Roll Eyes

So it's great to have some extra "barriers" before you can get an upgrade. Not really sure why they've implemented this Merit system also for the "higher" ranks, tho...

I think they implemented it for all ranks so people can’t just behave for a year or two then stop and pollute the forum. It’s also more fair. You're articulate and debate but only in the altcoin session and it’s mostly about that next great coin that can generate a little profit. I couldn’t find a single post (other than your post here) outside the altcoin section.

You don’t qualify for merit according to the rules of this thread but I would like to ask you a question. You must realize that altcoins only climb in value when bitcoin climbs in value. That’s true 100% of the time. Altcoins will have no value if bitcoin dies. It’s difficult enough to get people IRL to buy and use bitcoin but bombardment of the cryptocurrency ecosphere by a continuous flood of altcoins is making it impossible for average people to trust and support bitcoin. Surly you must realize by now that holding bitcoin long term will make you money and be magnitudes safer than holding any altcoin. Why not exclusively support bitcoin?

Hi QA, I found your topic simply by following the link to the most supportive Merit forum member. And that's you. This respects the original spirit of supporting and donating to other members. Who am I to judge, but I think that does you great credit Smiley

I know I do not qualify for your merit. However I wasn't fishing for merit, but merely trying to hear your opinion on this "Merit" topic, as well as hearing the opinion of other members in this thread. I was expecting more people to come to this thread for begging purposes... Cool

Since you are asking anyway, allow me to give an answer to your question. I have been doing quite some translation work for projects I liked. Not the crappy ones (well... maybe back when I was new to this myself...), where you will probably have read mostly sarcastic remarks from my side. I don't need airdrops, I like to work and I like being paid for work.

To confirm your vision and point of view: uptil now, I have not cashed one single altcoin in dollars. They have all been converted to BTC (and some LTC, I admit  Cool). I have been hodling since and this is how it will remain in the future. Even without any input on the BTC forum, BTC has to me already become what dollar still is to a majority of the population.

It's true there is a lot of newbie and dumbie crap in the altcoin discussions - which I hope will be more limited thanks to this Merit system. The reason why you don't see me in the Bitcoin forum is that my knowledge is limited to my personal political and economic points of view. I am a libertarian and I have a strong believe in free markets and personal responsibility. The way how many on this forum support dollar/euro/fiat and corporations (crying about Senate decisions and how credit card companies don't want to support their precious altcoin) is appalling. They all love the word "decentralization", but not its meaning. It's a sickness from all times. However, I do not feel the need to constantly express my opinion everywhere around on the forum, cause that would be annoying.

On the other hand, my technical knowledge (and that's where "THE BLOCKCHAIN" as a concept comes in) is so limited that there is no way I could add anything interesting to any discussion on that subject. So I listen, read and learn.

Well, geez, this became a longer post than planned! Smiley

Keep up the good work QA.

Thank you for the support. There have been some really nice altcoin people that have found their way to this thread. You definitely have the right viewpoint. I think you’ll do just fine ranking up. You said you don’t participate in the bitcoin sections of the forum. I think you’ll find that you participate more than you think you do if you look at your own merit stats.  Wink
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look back and move forward on: February 13, 2018, 04:04:37 PM
I think $10k can reasonably be considered the new floor as soon as the exchange rate crosses it again. If, in the future, you want to consider that you bought in cheap, any time now is a good time to buy. You’ve been warned.
412  Other / Off-topic / Re: Merit System Upgrade on: February 13, 2018, 02:31:08 PM
I am Jr. Member. I need merit to up level. Haizz.
Why new member do not need merit?

To move from Jr. Member to Member you only need 10 merit. If you can’t write 10 posts of substance that can get merit then you shouldn’t be here anyway. Thanks for the bump.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: February 12, 2018, 10:47:44 PM
This thread was made months back when fee used to be around $0.50 usually. It's a blessing now if bitcoin transaction gets confirmed even with $5 fee.
You can stop the FUD, fees have been much lower for quite a while now.
Example: last week I paid 0.53 USD for a transaction with 4 inputs (730 bytes). It confirmed in 12 minutes. The same block included a transaction with 0.05 USD fee.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. For the last week or so I’ve been doing transactions from $.50-$.75.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think is holding bitcoin back? on: February 12, 2018, 06:08:16 PM
Blocksize and the associated high fees.

Question Authority, your financial assumptions are as short sighted as your childish prejudice against Altcoin enthusiasts Smiley
Check for me how much BTC made during its stellar run in 2017, or let me help you: On Jan 01, 2017 BTC was trading around 1000 USD.
Even if you held it till the very top, that would give you around 19x should you decide to sell at 19,000ish USD, and you would only be up like 8x if you follow your own advice and are a holder to this day.

Contrast this with people who made 100x or above within a year investing in Altcoins, not even actively trading but simply buying and holding a portfolio of several promising altcoins. I have proof I can send you where someone turned 10k USD into 1 million USD+ within a span of 9 months during 2017, and published the results even on this forum. Now why would you try to dissuade people from chasing outperforming returns. You guys need to understand it doesn't matter if a few of your choices go to 0, when you are making 100x and above on others. That would more than make up for all the losses and still put you in a better position than investing purely in BTC.

Finally do you seriously believe that coins like ETH for example, on which the majority of ICO's depend, would disappear if BTC goes to 0 ? Or NEO or ADA, which both have their own state of the art algorithms and networks, supported en masse by the Asian community, I guarantee you they would abide very robustly.

Now this post, you have to admit, blows all your criteria for a helpful beneficial contribution to high water, let's see if you are man enough to merit it.

Good Luck

You suffer from the same delusion that plagues all altcoin people. Profit is not the only reason to support bitcoin. If you’re only in it for the profit, bitcoin can do that too.

I see at least 20 posts that would qualify for merit if the right person saw them. 20 merit awarded.

Thanks so much for the recognition, it is such a great pleasure to receive merits from you, it encourages people like me who really wants to get better in the future.
O ya, may i PM you later? I promise you it is not a merit begging PM.

Ok, PM me (he said apprehensively)

You’re the most fascinating person to come to this thread yet. Your name is hugeblack but you’re from Dubai. You advertise your own service to make custom signature ads for campaign managers but your signature also links grue’s thread for his Signature Adblock Script. You're a true bitcoin supporter and a goldbug but you go to the altcoin section to sell them stuff for bitcoin. I think you’re bitcointalk’s first true schizophrenic. LOL

More than enough of your posts have attempted to be helpful to others and deserving of merit. 20 merit points awarded.
the wise people "like you" are only ones who care about helping others.
Hugeblack is a wrong translation for "المادة السوداء" [arabic word] which mean "Dark matter" like C++"++C", google "Googol".
If you want I can edit your signature.

5 merit points awarded Worth more but I'm poor

Ah, dark matter makes more sense. Now I get it. Thanks for the offer but I’ll leave my signature like it is. Those big colorful signatures are mind numbing to me. Thanks for the merit.

Good grief, if everyone posting in this thread put as much effort in lengthy posts with this much forthought and detail in other sections of the forum everyone here would have 1000 merit.
