402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (XMR) Speculation thread on: August 10, 2014, 03:12:34 PM

1. Monero's adoption is currently 275 newcomers per day (2.2% increase per day).

I think your numbers are way off based on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg7822527;topicseen#msg7822527 :

13.710.8Remark
Reddit Subscribers512600Last week only ~15 new users

From this numbers I can only see only 20% increase in new users in last month - less than 0.7% increase per day meaning your numbers are 70% off. Number of transaction is one more indicator that shows stagnation. Trend is not in a high acceleration mode and based this numbers I think we are going to slowly grind lower to the next support 0.0025-0.003 or stay in this area 0.003-0.004 for some time until lower daily inflation create shortages or adoption accelerates (marketing).

btw: XMR also dumped much at that moment...

20k daily inflation above 0.004 is hard to absorb for extended period of time even for whales and it's followers. I am sorry that they're bashing BBR along, they don't understand that competition breeds inovation and they act at their own peril.

As of now, is Monero a better coin?

from a technical view point both coins have their merits, i like both

A bit off topic but +1 from me. I'm holding 5 figures of each.

Man, if it's really true - you better to support coin with some real help - that make your chances to earn much higher! Smiley

Essentially, we need some investment for pr and promotion spendings.

Hopefully the guy that bought almost 100k yesterday is reading this thread also.

You meant the guy who sell to himself 100k ? Smiley

how would you know that, are you the guy? lol

Because this huge buy didn't even changed the price... may be just coincidence
I don't know for sure, just guess.

Oh no, now fudsters will have another theme to talk about why BBR is so much worse than XMR.  Cheesy

408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: August 04, 2014, 08:05:31 AM

 Lips sealed
why would anyone move from xmr to a pump and dump (cloaka)?

You know this is altcoin economy where everything is pump and dump, yes, even XMR, but pump and hype aspect is very limited due to high mining inflation.
Time in altcoin scene is measured in days , because the risk of scam and competition is very high and odds are stacked greatly against you, don't believe that XMR is any different even though prominent members are advocating ownership, but they are invested and that's why emotionally connected to their investment. Test of time is unfortunatelly still the best method for evaluation of any altcoin.

Either bottoming or dying.

412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] rpietila Monero Economics thread on: July 30, 2014, 12:11:07 PM
I have been searching for data to estimate the number of users in any given day of history. Any such data is appreciated...

Have you thought about asking Poloniex exchange? XMR is currently pretty centralized (50-70% volume) on Poloniex and in the past weeks they had 80% of all volume, I am sure by telling you this numbers for your research they wouldn't be breaching any confidentiality - they even had counter of all users and currently logged in users and XMR was 90% of their trade volume.

Good News Everybody!

We are proud to announce the next presentation in our series
explaining Boolberry's unique and very important features.

In this presentation, you'll see why Boolberry can easily prune ring-signatures
avoiding block chain to bloat while Ordinary CryptoNote coins cannot.

Great work, I love this presentations.

Question to AnonyMint.

Having read some of your posts (frankly, not many, just those that happened to appear in topics I follow) I came to the conclusion that you only try to find flaws in those coins you touch, thus not giving preference to any of them. I saw this behavior towards XMR and DRK (and Ethereum?). Maybe some others too, but that's too much effort to look through all of your posts. So the question is: am I right? Or do you have any coin(s) that you particularly like? If not, would you mind writing a short summary post about those you examined and things you like and dislike about them?

Thanks.

Yeah, he basically says they all suck one way or another, and we should give up all hope and go back to fiat Smiley which sucks too because inflation eats it away. The only good investment he recommends is IT skills in the coming Knowledge Age. That's what I gathered from reading his posts. Many of them are insightful, but giving up hope on cryptos is not something I can agree with him on Smiley

He never said this, but the opposite. Crypto's + knowledge will be the only way to escape and hide from the goverment in the coming age. However, he sees many problems with the bitcoin and altcoins and he is exploring (and hopefully programming) what features should the "killer coin" have in order to be truly anonymous and make users safe from the goverments and powers that be.

btw. don't get why all the attention is at monero while boolberry is much faster and offers quite more things like a gui-wallet
must be promotional stuff or am i missing something?

I agree, BBR is currently better than XMR, but what can you do. Monero has a few big names behind that gives investors (speculators) more confidence + more developers + better name + few guys bashing BBR.

...poloniex interfact has a strange way of defining the fib levels (from what I can tell: it's turned around for the current view of the entire history). calculating it by hand...

The marketing team must bring people in, Yesterday.

You know that this is not like company? You can get involved - put some BTC or BBR for bounty or you can even contact exchanges and ask them to add BBR, etc.
