That is called liquidity.

This bubble chart shows all cryptocoins and their total trading volume summarized of all exchanges for the last 24 hours on it. The volume is denominated in BTC. Other second currencies like USD, EUR and LTC are getting calculated back to BTC to show the right data.

BTW - I've sent one very polite and well thought out email to Dexcel - this is not a deluge.

I got a reply from my friend at drexel designs, she said tapeout wouldn't begin till next month.
I also posted the reply on reddit with her permission.

So, there is working being done and they have a chip... If this is true could Alpha just share some info... at least enough to allay the scam argument (that is starting to make sense).

If this is true and tapeout hasn't even begun then Alpha-Tech might be WAAAAAYYYYY behind.  Say 60-90 days for tapeout. Another 2-3 weeks to assemble and 1-2 weeks for shipping? End of October maybe even November?

Look I know this is not want you want to hear, but there will be an update soon, that's all I can really tell you right now.[/b]

Not can - want. That's all he wants to tell right now.
He could at least tell if the news is positive or negative. Actually if the news would be good I am sure he would mention it.

They want to be as far away as possible from ground zero before the bomb drops,
or run out the 5 month refund window on customers.

Believe me, if they had any good news to deliver Fiaz would be on every forum, and all the reddit threads touting it.  They've posted full updates for something as inconsequential as the final case design (which looked exactly like the old case design).

If fiaz knew the chips had a deliver date of 10 days he would be talking it up.  Scheduling deliveries, getting the payment processor up and running.  Lol he would even put up the tracking number so everyone can see how transparent they are.  If Drexel had any information for them it would be posted here.  BUt Drexel doesn't.  Drexel probably completed the final tapeout but won't mask until fiaz delivers the next payment but AT doesn't have the capital to make the next payment so Drexel won't start the next phase.  This is probably why fiaz is so quiet now and he won't even come on here to respond to these allegations because he has no proof to counter them.

Even a stack of power supplies and cases would suffice.  How long would it take to make a few hundred cases?  2-3 weeks.  Shipping?  another 1-2 weeks.

If A-T did have manufacturing in motion how hard would it be to call up your foundry and ask them to take a few snapshots and uploaded them to dropbox so you can shut the naysayers up?  It would probably have the rest of your customers stop dragging feet and wire transfer the rest of their money to AT.  If AT had any proof they would post it.  But they don't and the only thing Fiaz can say is...."Look I know this is not want you want to hear, but there will be an update soon"
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alpha Technologies class action lawsuit ? on: July 07, 2014, 01:25:01 PM
Hi Guys, I think our chances to get our Vipers now look very slim as the 15th of July is in 9 days and still no news of Alpha Technologies.

In case they do not deliver, we will need to engage in a class action to try to get a refund, and I think the earlier we start the process, the better.

Someone has some experience on this subject ? Do they know some good lawyers company in the UK for this kind of situations ?

I would look for who represented the lawsuits against BFL, Hashfast, and Cointerra.  They probably have the most experience in this matter as they have already been through it enough.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 07, 2014, 01:01:58 PM
heh only 3 weeks left in july and alpha team is saying nothing on this forum or on their site for news since 6/20/14 (render drawings on the news info on www.alpha-t.net)

if things were going well there would be chip/prototype pics...bells/whistles and a parade etc tec

er looks like the boat is sunk already..and they are rowing like 'hell' away as fast as possible

the silence is 'deafening'

Searing

I would be happy just to see the bare cases and power supplies that they "should" have staged waiting for chips and pcbs to assemble.  If they don't even have those how are they going to even get anything out in July.  They will be lucky if they have something out by the end of August

407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Big loss on: July 07, 2014, 12:03:15 AM
I bought LTC at around $4.17 April 2013.  I panicked when LTC dropped to $1.20 in Sept 2013 only to see it move to almost $50, 2 months later.  Cryptocurrencies are not for the weak of heart and those that can't sit on their hands.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: French ASIC miner company ehsminer.com on: July 06, 2014, 04:35:31 PM
This company is a scam. The same guy posts on litecointalk.org. He trolls the forum begging for LTC and claiming to be a buyer of several asics but has been exposed.

He tried this scam 2 months ago but without the website.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IFC InfiniteCoin Reward Halves Today on: July 02, 2014, 10:03:42 PM
The network is not strong at all.  Anyone who mines it is mining at a loss.  Who ever is still mining is doing so just to keep transactions moving.  Since there are no miners supporting the network then the coin does not have a base economy.

Miners are the foothold the short term viability of a coin until consumer and merchant support arrives.  Miners get coins which they will hoard or trade.  If they realize there is demand they will mine more.  More miners will arrive to support the network to capitalize on the return.  If trades see the appreciation in price then they will buy in further increasing demand.  This creates a pool of liquidity.  With enough miners and traders providing liquidity your regular consumer will start to invest.  If merchants see a sizable pool of consumers with coins to spend then they will adopt the coin and the pool gets larger.

It's a sensitive dynamic.  If any one of them is too strong or too weak the coin fails.  IFC needs a significant protocol revamp.  The rewards are not enough to entice mining.  IFC needs a hard fork.

Fiaz (July 02, 2014): "Shipping is not expected to start on the 15th"

So we know the "optimistic" scenario won't fire.

Well. Can't say I didn't see this coming.

Notice the details of the statement.  Or the absence of one.

Fiaz (July 02, 2014): "Shipping is not expected to start on the 15th"

He never offered any information or even allusion to when shipping will start.

So while shipping will definitely not start on the 15th.... 2 weeks later than expected.  It may not even start in July.  If shipping would not start on the 15th but AT knew that it would start on the 30th then they would have promptly mentioned that in order to offset the bad news.  So shipping may nor even start in August!!!!!
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 02, 2014, 09:38:47 PM
Is it just me, or did Alpha just lock down almost all of their forums (except a general page) to members only? I can't reach threads I was able to browse prior, without logging in.

Yes, it looks like the sub forums for the company, about us, the team are all deleted or are private now.  Most of them redirect to static pages on the alpha-tech website.  Others just 404.  More lock down.  I think Fiaz is scared of making too many amnnoucements public knowledge.

But it is a bit scammy to lock down discussion about company details.

This is what I received upon cancellation request:

"Hello there,

I am very sorry but as per our cancellation policy which is legally binding it has been longer than 5 months since you placed your order therefore you are no longer eligible for a refund. We must say we have been very clear and open with our terms of order, it was released as a news update, it is easily available on our website and you are requested to view it on the product page before you order. I can assure you that our legal matters are dealt with by a leading law firm in the UK. I can assure you that the terms of order are completely legal in the UK. Our terms were typed up by solicitors who specialize in this area of law. They have advised us that all our customers will be legally classed as businesses for many reasons and one reason being that the hardware we are selling can only be used for either mining cryptocurrencies or for resale unless the customer can prove anything other in court which is of course not possible as our devices have no other use.

Best Regards,

Alpha Technology Team"

What do you think?

I think that Vipers make rafts that is another use,

and as a go cart... some additional assembly required.

and to cover up those unsightly pot holes.

And what gives since when did mining cryptocurrencies becomes a strictly business activity.  It began as a hobbyist activity by techy people with graphic cards.  It is NOT a business only activity.  There is not legal restriction preventing consumers from entering the cryptocurrency mining community.  Now if the UK requires that all miners be incorporated then that is another matter but they don't and any lawyer telling alpha-tech that is out of his gorge.  Fiaz is desperate if they keep touting that line about all their customers being businesses.

Fiaz:
"Right so your concern is if we don't have the processor up before shipment. This is something that I cannot possibly give you our response to at this time, it is something we are considering as we really appreciate where you're coming from but we will cross this bridge when we get there and will make no decisions yet."

Alpha just went from "next week", "any day now", "any hour" to "maybe never" about the CC processor.

Lol. I thought they were supposed to be transparent. This is why I feel things have reached critical mass at alpha tech. They were posting every step in the design process. Then announce chips are ready to ship and they want money. Now all of a sudden it is silent with a few vague announcements and statement about nothing at this time. And it's been over a month. And then recently the company starts scaling back is Internet presence.

Hashfast did the same thing. I give it about 2 weeks before bankruptcy rumors and another 3 weeks before you see an official filling of bankruptcy.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 01, 2014, 02:00:22 PM
I am kind of at a loss as to what removing their online presence would do at this point.  Its not like the community does not know who/where they are and what was said previously.  There are a lot of excellent trolls and scam hawks roaming around the forum.  If it made its way onto the internet you have lost control of it....period.

Someone unleash PG!!!!

Because fix used a lot of outlets to spread the word he is cleaning them all up to reduce the chance of someone finding some nugget that will destroy their defense in court. It is a desperate move and even if it seams futile it might help in some ways. Lot at what the us irs is doing. Shading hard drives and not backing anything up.   Fiaz is hoping for a bungling court at this point.
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is any other GAW hosted customers having MEGA issues the last 2+ weeks? on: July 01, 2014, 02:49:52 AM
They are having major scalability issues.  They did not anticipated the cooling needs of the data center growth. A lot of companies new to operating their own data centers go through the same growing pains.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: July 01, 2014, 02:45:16 AM
Something is afoot at alpha tech. Fiaz deleting accounts on bitcointalk and litecointalk and editing alpha tech forum posts. No removing photos.

Assuming he has inside information that he has not reported to contenders yet I think that things are not going well inside the company and they are piling on the Sand bags preparing for the shirt storm when they have to announce that either they can't get a payment processor up and running, the foundry will not send them chips until they remit payment or both.

Imagine the backlash when that happens. So fiaz is going through all the old posts deleting all his "guarantees" and anything that he could be held liable for in a court of law. It's only July 1st, wait a week or two to see what a mess this thread will be.

Where are the chips fiaz!!! Post a photo with you and them in hand with today's newspaper!

For those of you that got burnt by these guys despite all the warnings given by other forum members and photos of the said workshop, fear not, for I too am releasing my own 1000Mh/s miner in a couple of months, and am accepting pre-orders. Just send 2BTC to 1JFm3AuzB7HB56ZvycEd1KKiFRKEG8WeZt and I'll do you a special deal! I'll even throw in a set of free steak knives for the first 100 orders.

You seem trustworthy...

There are a lot of UK buyers, why hasn't someone gone over there recently (such as the past few days) to see what's going on? Someone on the ground and on site may be able to discover more than just going through forums.

Full disclosure - I do not have an alpha-t order (thankfully).

When alpha-t first announced, I asked my oldest son, who lives near Manchester and frequently travels internationally, if he would mind going round to their offices and give me the benefit of his impressions of the people and place.

He declined, describing it as 'A very dodgy part of Manchester'. He didn't feel comfortable there and I didn't push him.
That told me everything I needed to know ...

Why is it dodgy? The name Moss Side is enough to send chills down even the toughest hooligan’s spine; a notorious inner-city area of Manchester cluttered with council blocks, it is known as a capital of murder and mayhem, and not the kind of place you go to live happily ever after. The neighbourhood is largely controlled by gang members – said to be up to 500 in total in Manchester – with drug dealing, turf wars and theft a way of life here. Avoid, at all costs.

Our address is Rusholme not Moss Side, a simple Google search would tell you this.

My apologies.  I guess Moss Side ends 3 units down from you.  Not sure if its any better in Rusholme though....

Great, now we are dealing with Logical Fallacies as the basis for arguments.
Let's see, which category does it fall under? The units are being made in India but the location of the organizational team is being put in question due to the neighborhood?
So basically, with this type of ideology we should not support lower socioeconomic areas?
BTW - The logical fallacies covered, include but are not limited to: Red Herring, Ad Hominem, Appeal to the Popular, Begging the Question, and on and on.

Let's keep this fact based. Again, instead of name calling let's keep this on track.

I'm just concerned that theft is a way of life there....

So, now it is guilt through association? Neighborhood no less?
How about the families nice standing in the community, business wise?
If you are going to judge an issue, look at all sides. Don't collect select data.

I'm not against the facts presented as I just stated in my last post here (and in other places in this thread), but when the energy of the thread is just falling apart and becoming personal, conjecture, fallacy based, purely negative, etc. then it is time for everyone to take a breath and step back. No good can come from a factual argument becoming emotional. It is the proverbial snowball headed down the mountain. Things may not look great, but judging by this thread one would think we are 3 months behind schedule.
Emotion, especially when it gets to the before mentioned level, seems to be more concerned with being right than finding truth and that is a dangerous place to be.
No harm can come from just sticking to what we know and trying to be a bit more factual and less personal. (like in the recent past actually).
I

You are right, let's just stick with the facts....
