4021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always pump after sold holdings. on: August 14, 2021, 07:41:29 PM
Does it happen with you? Or just it's happening with me?
Lol...

In the past I used to think I had some token devs or exchange dudes lurking on my hodling. It was almost me thinking I was the biblical Jonah stopping the ship from sailing by inadvertently hodling on to a particular token. It doesn't matter how long I hodl  the token. Like Jonah, once I dump a token the price sails/soars. It was weird for me. However, it was not until I saw and read of people complaining of the same issue that I realised it wasn't me alone or anyone trying to manipulate me. It's just the nature of trading. And this is the reason no one can truly tell you where the bottom or top of a token is.
4022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of using Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 07:08:04 AM
There are five risks in the use of Bitcoin:

  • The risk of the law
For me, that's the only real risk. The rest enumerated can be associated with fiat too. So, no biggie. However, Bitcoin is even receiving nice reviews now than it did half a decade or so ago. It's a given that a few years down the line from where we currently are the reviews will be far better than what we have now. The law risk is because a lot of nations haven't seen the need to support Bitcoin through legislative means and certify it a legal tender yet. These nations may not be able to hold this position longer than necessary when they find out they're getting left behind with this paradigm shift if they don't key in. It's just a matter of time, and Bitcoin (by extension cryptocurrencies) will become the ultimate winner.

4027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Most important person alive? on: August 13, 2021, 05:09:03 AM
Jesus is the most important person alive.
Apt!

Almost the world population has heard or read about Him.
4028  Other / Politics & Society / Re: My body, my choice is the new : just do it ! on: August 13, 2021, 04:18:59 AM
There's a reason indecent dressing in public is outlawed. You can go naked walking around in your room or backyard for all what, no one cares. But that isn't the same thing in public. It may be one's body but the way and manner one conducts oneself where others are is important. One should remember that one doesn't have to endanger the sensibilities of others just because one wants to live wantonly. A right begins where another ends.
4029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do we do when a campaign is discovered to be a fraud on: August 12, 2021, 10:02:24 PM
In this case the campaign 1xbit.com has been accused of scamming its users but still yet reputable members of this forum apply for the campaign.
There is a whole lot of difference between a "reputable" member and a veteran. You could safely refer to high ranking members as veterans and not reputable. To be reputable takes strength of character (to be on the part of what is legal and trust, away from scam) which being a veteran member may not accord anyone. It comes with trust one earns on the forum and not ranks. To put it right, those you referred to as reputable members who are supporting an alleged scam site are just after their bellies for what they're worth in weekly payouts. No shame and conscience at all.

This is the first time I'm seeing ranked members applying for a campaign managed by a newbie.
That is even an ominous sign for fraud, yet users overlooked.
4030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin? on: August 12, 2021, 05:41:13 PM
When I was in English class, the teacher said that the first letter of a word is capitalized to indicate that this thing is unique. So I always think Bitcoin is correct.
That will be in a situation of a proper noun when it begins a sentence or in the middle or end of it, I guess. I also pay attention to spellings too.

Well, for me, I tend to spell it as Bitcoin (capital B) any time I use that word out of my respect for the phenomenal discovery, not even for grammar sense.
4031  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading skills and strategies on: August 12, 2021, 05:27:13 PM
I am a beginner in trading and have just entered the field of cryptocurrency and tried trading.Mainly through youtube tutorials and some encrypted websites to view indicators and encrypted trading strategies.
Viewing YouTube tutorials on trading is a good place to start learning, and you're already doing that. However, I don't understand the "encrypted" part of your post. Learn ardently all you can on YouTube with rapt attention, it will pay off eventually. Just give it some time. Don't be in a rush to hit a jackpot (this is sadly the mistake of many a noob trader). Whatever you learn on YouTube, try as much as you can to focus of Price Action movement and leading indicators of Support & Resistance, Pivot Points and Lines.

I need some help or direction in terms of process and strategy.
You can chat the YouTubers you follow their instructions on that. You can't be too sure those offering you trading advice and tips here are traders. A lot of us may not be into trading but hodling.
4032  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions should never be traded. on: August 12, 2021, 07:36:53 AM
I'd want to provide some guidance, particularly to individuals who are new to the market.
With just three posts from an account you opened on the 11th of August, you're already providing advice and guidance to the forum on trading? This is really hilarious. You could've posted from your main as you don't sound like a newbie to me, actually. Well, that said. I would like to make a clarification here, trading is a speculative profession. Speculations are based on sentiments of course, which can either be objective or subjective. Both are emotionally based, anyway. And that's the singular reason anyone trading is advised to develop a trading plan which they should stick to so they don't get swayed by untapped emotional decisions of other traders. Learn the ropes and stick to the emotion that you understand and can relate with. Whether buy or sell, traders will either lose cash or make it.

Throwback pix.

Sorry if that had been shared here before, I found it unbelievable until I searched it out online.

4034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: obstacles for jr member rankings "signature" on: August 11, 2021, 12:30:56 PM
What's the point of lying about being a beginner?
The reason some of them lie is just to get on the soft side of members of the community who would want to go out on their way to be kind-hearted towards them. It's a kind of emotional currency if you asked me.

On the flip side, Jr Member rank is almost unofficially confined to bounties in this forum as hardly do you get an enrollment with it in a BTC paying signature campaign. I think most campaigns don't even accept anything less than a Full Member rank, except for Yahoo who allows Member rank into his. However, getting into a campaign shouldn't be your priority here, otherwise you will end up spamming the forum with meaningless and shitposting ability. Contribute to the forum with constructive posts and comments and you will grow in ranks and it will be easy getting into campaigns.
4035  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies ! A wrong (Altcoin) selection would destroy your dream on: August 11, 2021, 08:30:21 AM
OP, I think it would've been better to list the names of those shitcoins that cost you that much pain. Is there any illegality in doing so? I won't hesitate to expose and tag any project that causes me pain or scams me.

I can imagine almost everyone with hands of steel at one point or the other sold their Bitcoins too early or traded them for a shitcoin which they expected would increase in value far more than Bitcoin and ended up losing out in the long run.
The sad reality is that none of them will be bold enough to voice it now, thinking that they may be laughed at. No one is above mistakes or knows it all. I always maintain that every experienced person was once a novice. There's no shame in announcing our inexperience. I was a victim of this altcoins saga and shitcoin happenstance. It happened to the best of veteran investors and traders too. The dude who introduced me to BNB in 2017 when it was newly launched. I bought 270 units at less than $0.04 each but sold off at $3 or so each. Made profit from it but reinvested it in Regalcoin (which sadly turned scam). One day I got talking with the dude, thinking he was in cool cash when BNB got to over $400 only for him to tell me he sold at $16. Despite his vociferous campaigns for BNB that it was a great investment, he too sold early. And I believe he must've reinvested in another token that would've turned sour too. We are all speculators, no one truly knows where the market is headed.

That is so true! Friends who think Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme and wouldn't want to learn how it works.

I can feel the engines starting up, the train is getting ready to leave the station once again.
Yeah, so true. It has even broken out of the $30,718 – $40,921 range where it was trapped for weeks to the up side. This announces the second leg of the bull rally, imho.

For those who imagine that gold is a better asset than Bitcoin, this may be a highly disappointing news.
