4061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 29, 2022, 06:38:19 AM
Trust me, I know the abilities of South Americans -- which is why I said they're technically better, understand game management more, but physical advantage is always an advantage in football. Even can see it in Premier League.

I'm Southeast Asian so it's no point of discussion I don't get either. Set pieces are at least 20% of the game and I've played a lot of games where you simply can't defend corners if they pack 3 or 4 players over 6 ft when your tallest guy (me) is 5'5 haha.
Well yes you are absolutely right wow you are from Southeast Asia, I have played soccer in real life with people from many countries, but not with the countries there, I would like to play one day with one of them, each country has a different technique in football.
Now, from my own experience and because I have played against the Germans and they are very, very strong, they have a lot of resistance and their height is quite relevant, in the aerial game it is very difficult to beat them, in addition to the fact that they run very fast, it is very similar when you play with the Brazilians, only the Brazilians do a lot of freestyle things playing, they do a lot of feints, it's like a soccer more focused on enjoying, it's like samba, but I know that soccer in any part of the world each country has its technique and that's great.

I was very lucky, most of my life played with only locals but there was about a 4/5 year period when I lived near a university with international students and foreign workers -- but mainly vocational and factory workers, and our pitches were terrible or we played a lot on cement if it was 5v5 -- so very very physical. Africans and South Americans have legs of steel, and a lot of dark arts haha.

Then in my late 20s I played semi-amateur in a city league with expats, then I got a taste of Middle Eastern, European, generally much much taller, better training, but also started playing better pitches, and there the skill levels really widened, but fitness makes up for it a lot (and those guys were white collar mainly so a lot less fit). Our captain and keeper was German actually, I was the only Southeast Asian in the team, also the shortest and smallest haha.

It's definitely a problem when you have to take 3 steps and they only take 2 long strides (so technically, they're slower than you, but move longer distances simply because of height hahaha).

^ Yeah, I don't got nothing against slots, I know some people go crazy over them, and all that. Never spent a single cent on them online or physical, not even for the heck of it. Just can't really bring myself to do it for some strange reason (I buy lotteries which is probably an even dumber idea so it's not like I've got any standards).

I got 90 euro cents, I beat you by 4.5x Trofo, I am so legend...

0.05 mbtc, yeah I definitely prefer freebets heh
4063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 28, 2022, 02:31:08 PM
@buwaytress - your bet is safe now anyway !

With Berrettini out that leaves a bit of a void for Nadal to fill, that side of the draw favours
Nadal even more now

Ah man! I just found out now checking on things and coming back to this crappy piece of news. Think the Nadal backers will be rejoicing, but what a shame for Wimbledon to be missing so many already after the first hurdle...

I suppose I should be happy I did put the very first outright on Djokovic. Now he'll only have himself to blame if he doesn't actually go on to win it.

4064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I started Bitcoin investing on: June 28, 2022, 02:02:07 PM
Quite impressive for me, started in 2020 when prices were down, my girlfriend's birthday comes in March so I got her some Bitcoin and Ethereum and got some for myself.
Also, bought another batch in September. Then when it peaked at $64k, I got a sell indication on my trading setup so I literally sold all my assets and booked a massive profit.

Now, I am actually accumulating with that profit so that I can have some more fruitful journey in the next bull run.

Damn, you're probably one of the first I know of who started so recently, and actually got something great out of it, well done to you, fair play!

I got in before the previous cycle, but being a holder and never really doing much in way of trading, I actually had to liquidate significantly IN 2020 just as 20k was being broken... so I did "profit" from that as I wouldn't have ever saved as much without Bitcoin, but I'm today effectively where I started that time, since Bitcoin is more or less in the same range, and I haven't managed to build much more BTC than I had then.

Oh, just a regular saver here. Freelance, started asking in BTC when PayPal became infuriating.
4065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 28, 2022, 07:50:14 AM
@Trofo I noticed you and others got the freebet but I actually didn't... and in my promo page which I opted in, the prize is freespins on some Gladiator game or something so I guess the outright offer was different for everyone (I definitely would have preferred freebets!).

@casper aoluain Anyway, locked in my upset of the day against Berrettini... > 15/1. Silly money on the Chilean #1. Ha.

Hi,
does anybody know why registration is disabled and will it be enabled again in the future?

I believe registrations have been disabled since my last post above (September 2021) when they said they were working on releasing a new version of the site. Everything else works the same, they just haven't had been able to take on new users for almost a year now.

This month I actually asked in the Chat/Trollbox again and we have the same answer on 14 and 16 June as I quote below, with no further details furnished:

Quote
Registration is currenly disabled. We are working on the new version of the site, and registration will be enabled with its release.

Quote
It will be possible with the release of the new version of the site, though we are still unable to provide accurate date.

I'm still depositing, betting and withdrawing, support still lurks and answers, so obviously they're still around ha.
4067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 27, 2022, 07:18:41 PM
Christ CLS63 and Trofo yea, has to be the biggest upset and for sure killed a LOT of tickets (saw most days him being the most popular pre-tourney bet). Tough fightback only to lose in the end, though Alcaraz got the lucky end of that.

There's got to be more upsets coming so yeah, might be a good idea to just pick the top 3 seeds and bet against them all. And then cover it all live if they actually do go behind.
4068  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: June 27, 2022, 04:09:49 PM
In case anyone missed it, there's a Wimbledon promo now.

https://fortunejack.com/promotions/wimbledon

Short summary:
Place 10 bets (min 0.5 mbtc each) throughout Wimbledon on min 2-leg accas of at least 1.4 odds each.
The average of the 10 bets will be given as a freebet on 12 July.

In other words, this is like the 4+1 promo, except it's 10+1. 10% cashback I guess is a simpler way to put it.

Not exactly my cup of tea but I might have a look. Worth spraying 20 mbtc on? Haha.
4069  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Full RBF on: June 27, 2022, 03:02:09 PM
Trying to see if BitPay will make allowances for this then finally but don't see anything to suggest it on their site -- In fact, the latest RBF threads updated in June on their FAQs still show you how to disable them.

They've been forcing people to overpay on fees (and rejecting RBF-enabled ones so you're forced to finalise a fee), one of the few things I put up with for the sake of spending that Bitcoin on pizza where I live. Or is that merely merchant settings on their end of BitPay?

I see this as a win, maybe one reason it's happening? To push merchants to accept a tool designed to help users compensate for miscalculations?
4070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As some people want bulls some people want bears, bitcoin like season on: June 27, 2022, 02:25:06 PM
I don't believe that there are as many as 13 000+ users who became owners of 1 BTC in just 7 days, but that this may be a result of some owners just distributing their BTC to multiple addresses, which is nothing new that we haven't seen yet. I’m not saying that some of all of these cases aren’t unique, but analyzing a blockchain is mostly in the realm of conjecture and the same data can be interpreted in multiple ways.

Yeah, and I always take the term "users" with a large megacrab pincer of salt. I don't see speculators/traders having some wallet app on their phone to look at lovingly/despairingly before they go to bed as users.

Exchanges probably also do this to some degree, or I would in any case, spread out security and management risks over multiple hot wallets.

Also probably many drawn-out cases of one big liquidator "derisking" at around 20k, and then many smaller ones taking up enough to top up their balances to 1 BTC. I know the big one Bitcoin was also my target some years ago, did all I could just to see that in my wallet. Imagine it's still the dream for many others.

So many different possibilities, too simple to say 13,000 users simply thought the price was right.
4071  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: June 27, 2022, 12:07:04 PM
It starting to feel that "Bitcoin game" is a scam ...a big ponzi ...

So wait, the only way for you to feel that Bitcoin isn't a game, scam or ponzi, is for it to just keep going up and up and up? Stock markets and real estate, gold, every other legitimate asset that rises and falls, ebbs and flows, are scams?

I'm not a miner, speculator, and I'm still pretty happy with where it is. What does that make me, a patient ponzi supporter?

If the only thing you gained from Bitcoin is that it's not for you, though, least you came away with a powerful lesson.
4072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 27, 2022, 10:31:58 AM
Here's the odds: 1.50, 1.83, 2.00, 7.00, 1.083, 1.36, 1.18, 1.33. So, mostly short odds, but it's that Curtis fight, that went the distance that pumped up the return.

I rarely cash out, it's only because he looked absolutely demoralised at the end of round four. It's kind of my attitude, I bet a small ish amount, on impossible odds usually. This week I went a little bit more safe, and well it bloody came in.

It very nearly didn't come in though. I just thought, I'm going on a trip soon, and quite frankly that cash out would help a ton. So, I decided instead of the possibility of being disappointed lets just cash. Honestly, at round two I was certain Tsar was going to win, unless he got knocked out. Then, obviously the come back changed my mind enough.

I don't know, very out of character for me to cash out. Glad I did though. I know if it did end up being a different result than it was, I'd be kicking myself today.

Yeah, it's definitely cost me over the past seasons especially in football, late goals and all that. It's an awful feeling, losing 80% of the cashout win praying for teams NOT to score especially. Still not sure I'm ever going to cash out but will probably need a huge-odds win riding to test my nerves proper. It's an option now on all the bookies I use, which wasn't the case just a few years ago, so clearly there's demand for cash out.

Nice win again, and on going the distance bets, they're looking more interesting to me too and where the value seems to me is stacked on most matches.
4073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Miners acting as the biggest whale! on: June 27, 2022, 08:41:31 AM
When was the last time a singular whale movement (whether from individual or entity like this vague "miner" exchange transaction) actually moved the market on its own and proceeded to maintain its impact? There's all those Whalebot Twitter accounts bleating out these huge signals but they're just noise -- buying and selling cancelling each other out.

Think what pooya said is right (simplistic but correct): if you're sending out more coins to an exchange, the orderbook fattens, more people can buy at better prices, so record sales is also record buys. And if, indeed, orderbooks are thinning as reported (exchange coins low), then we've got more buyers than sellers. Sounds good to me.
4074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 SOON! on: June 26, 2022, 05:36:00 PM
^Damn, did not know at all Kompany's now at Burnley! Shame about Rooney, he had my backing (and my bets) almost all season long, and that team was a joy to bet on when odds were 4/1 and above, honestly.

Burnley ought to be favourites most of the time anyway, so I doubt they'll be value bets. Can't say yet which team will be my new Derby but the first month should give some clues -- I notice teams get a hefty odds penalty away from home, regardless of form, so that's what I'll keep looking out for.

Watford lost their hopeful striker (but they did anyway last relegation and still bounced back) so I'm hoping to snag some wins against them early on when odds should favour them.

Early tips for value team of 22/23 anyone?
4075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Qualifying on: June 26, 2022, 03:45:06 PM
Right so with the playoffs done, we now know who all participants will be for 1st leg 1st Round Qualifying on 5 July. Full schedule here: https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/fixtures-results/#/rd/2001669-1

About outrights odds, is just for me it looks weird that Real is so underrated? C'mon, PSG @6.54 and Real @11.68

Cut the rest since I doubt they could advance to the finals unless there will be a very lucky draw for them. I find it funny to see Real Madrid odds like that although they are the champions of this version! BTW is this odds correct?
I have only a problem about Real place in this list, I prefer to put them after City and before Bayern with close odds between these clubs.

Funny enough, Real haven't been the top favourites for three seasons now. 8/1 or worse and even dropped below 10/1 throughout group stages. It's reflective of form and league performance really. They weren't lighting up La Liga without Benzema and Modric majority of the season.

I'd say value bet but don't think their luck pushes through again.

You can look yourself on oddschecker, the odds shift daily but this is pretty much correct.

Thanks. I don't see many members interacting yet, I think they are afraid from the self moderated topic Tongue but eventually they will join later once we get closer.

Heh, yeah I've been deleting posts from day 1 now. As I said, felt bad past threads had become spam magnets. Time to make up for it. I'm probably a bit too harsh but I do have 100% accuracy on reported posts anyway so I take comfort that mods at least agree with my degree of harshness. I'm even trying to be very forgiving.

Aaah feels nice in here.  Grin  It's about time the old spammy threads get locked and start new self moderated ones.  If only there was an option for multiple mods for one thread, I'd be happy to volunteer with the modding duties.  Smiley

I think the mods believe they do enough of a good job (and I generally agree) but yeah, be probably quite a good idea to be able to have thread creator add one or two "admins" or "mods" -- don't think SM has the functionality though. Just use the report function as often as possible. I stopped using it for a long time but I intend to try make it more of a habit. Collectively, we should be able to trim down the crap.
I haven't looked at the outrights yet but as for the poll, I gotta pick City.  I mean they're due to win it this time right?  They've been so close for a couple of years now...  Third time's a charm me thinks.  And Guardiola rides with a huge W into the sunset.

4076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 26, 2022, 02:21:36 PM
Cashing out at round four is probably some of the best decision making I've made while betting on the UFC. I usually let things run, and end up disappointed Cheesy. I'm officially now a casher outer.

Makes worth staying up until 07:00 worth it Cheesy. Plus, got some free bets for next event.

Had my head spinning a bit trying to think about the odds of your individual legs, but well done! I've very, very rarely cashed out, and I don't think ever on an important game. Even when close to dying minutes and with the game looking shaky, and only about 10-15% to lose on a bet, I still let it ride, need to learn to be a bit more pragmatic especially on final legs of parlays.

Especially good play predicting on Gamrot's comeback.

Long live casher outers.
4077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 26, 2022, 01:10:25 PM
A little sad Mane left, but we were always going to lose one of our legendary figures... but if they all broke apart, I'd be really sad.
Sooner or later it will happen to any team. Just look at Barcelona and Real Madrid, they also lost legends like Messi and Ronaldo and I think Liverpool will soon lose more legends too and I am aware that the countdown has started since they signed his contract with the team.

But of course I don't think Liverpool should be willing to lose Salah sooner than expected. Liverpool's attack power still relies heavily on Salah and it was still quite visible when Salah missed several match last season. Firmino, Jota and Diaz are not completely reliable but next season Nunez will help.

Yeah, I know. And some you just know will happen sooner rather than later. Even in 2019/2020 I already felt those silent pangs of sadness underneath all the joy and success. Even Klopp actually signing an extension was a massive wave of relief because I was already resigned to losing him soon. A bit crazy if you think about it, to be looking ahead and mourning that, but I guess for me it was almost 2 decades of grief before all this to blame for haha.

A bit unfair to say that to Firmino/Jota/Diaz who practically won us some games we wouldn't otherwise have made to play every possible game there was. Salah did have his bad streak too, he was well ahead with the Golden Boot but played 5 games without scoring, allowing Son to catch up with him. Even coming into the City game, where I was so sure he'd finally score, he'd only scored like 1 penalty in the last 7 or 8 games. We didn't finish the season a point behind City and fighting every competition all because of Salah, but despite him not firing in the last half =)

^Nice one Trofo, extremely dry for me as well. Even the bets I'm placing are out of reluctance. I am doing either a Wimbledon or World Cup outright every day to get my daily boosts though Wink

I know it's money tied up for WC but oh well.

Your acca looks nice. I'm following that, even though no idea what that last leg is (esports I guess). Obviously with my own pick from J-league to complete the 5 legs (live bet on draw with the Kashima Antlers game, which just hit so I'm also on one leg done).

Only difference is you're playing for a car in my country, I'm playing for pizza dinner for 5 where I live now heh heh.

4079  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recent events should make you withdraw all your coins to your own wallet: Part 2 on: June 26, 2022, 10:29:47 AM
Which is obviously nonsense. Once they've set up the necessary systems to create a wallet for a specific coin which can handle deposits and withdrawals for customers, it takes absolutely no effort on their end other than to let the software continue to run. Just another one of the many ways that centralized exchanges rip off their users.

Indeed. My first direct experience with some of these shenanigans was a centralised wallet run by a mining company think it was called Eohash or Eobot? Small one, they sold mining rigs but also had a wallet, kinda like the antpool dashboard. I actually had quite a bit of coinage there as 2016 you could still do some shitcoin pow with reasonable results (okay Monero's not a shitcoin but nevermind). Had what I'd say was an impressive balance in the run up to 2017 but I left it sitting there, not realising they'd suddenly implemented a monthly % maintenance fee which wiped it all out by the time I DID go in to see a year or so later. They've closed down.

One wallet turned CEX I definitely remember was Exodus. A few years back they decided to drop Dogecoin and if you didn't withdraw yours before upgrading to their new version, you'd simply not see your Doge anymore.
Really? Did the wallet have a seed phrase you could export and recover your coins somewhere else? Cause otherwise that's just outright theft.

The only way to get the seed phrase was to use the older version (which I did) but if you were unlucky to upgrade and forget you ever had Doge, like I guess a lot of people did, too bad. You're right, it was outright theft and it actually caused some small furore from the Dogecoin "devs" at the time -- I didn't follow too much and had I better forum skills I would reference the thread I recall discussing it. This reddit thread seems to explain it in some detail (the comments) if you're interested.

Are you sure you remember it correctly? Their website still show page for Dogecoin[3].

100% sure. I used Exodus for most alts I had (at first I did QT on almost everything but that became a terrible hassle, doge was one of the worst IMO) and that event was actually pretty stealth mode, I only found out WHEN I downloaded new version then.

You can see the reddit thread I put in this post for more detail and context. The Doge code maintainers got into a row after that, as did some Exodus users (they or I didn't lose any coins but we know for sure n00bs caught unawares would of course never realise this theft).

I note Exodus today seems a very different wallet, I see it as an exchange actually now it has a trading function and integrated card/bank option to buy.

*pokes fun at self for Tsitsi finally taking something when have given up on him, and then of course only put money on him for Wimbledon oops*

For Williams maybe in the doubles if she plays with Jabeur depending on how serious
her injury is which she picked up yesterday
. I wouldnt fancy her chances in a singles match,
she would brobably get through a couple of rounds all right.

@aoluain Yeah, left it out in the end, it's one thing to stay fit and able to play, quite another to come out on top vs Ons if they do end up meeting.

@Daniel91 Tennis pension, there's such a thing? Haha.

@Trofo Took a tip from UFC yesterday and smashed it, what's your tennis spider sense say?
