I see that Lauda blocked my personal messages, so I think she will not be able to see this thread right?
I blocked it as I don't answer to whiny flood of PMs from everyone that instantly contacted me after being exposed. I see your thread, but I see nothing for which I should act.

What about bittrex, will it not ban you when it detects the bot?
No. As said, you might be temporarily IP banned for too many requests. However, there's a delay setting in the bot and even the default value should be *good enough* to avoid this from happening.

Can we ask for merits for an exchange of service? Like, '5 merits for making signature designs' Or will it be against the rules just like trust farming?
No. If you do that you will be neg. rated, and possibly banned.

With this new Merit system implemented to boost posting quality here in the forum, should the negative and positive feedback given in relation to post quality be removed now and give the users a second chance on proving themselves?
How about you tell us first which alt(s) account(s) are you representing?

Did you forget to limit the merit you can send to positive numbers? Tested on Lutpin: Entered -10. His points dropped by -10. My sMerit went up by 10. I assume, the 50 limit doesn't apply here and I could neg. you by a few thousands. Update: Tested. There is no limit on the negative numbers. Sorry Luptin. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I already don't like the way clicking on +merit takes you away from the thread. Can you please have it open in a new window?
Agree 100% with this. A new window, or maybe just code in a little box next to the post where you can type the Merit you want to give and then hit Give or something. Instead of posting you 100% agree, you should have given me 100 merit. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Press your middle mouse button when trying to open a link to open it in a new window. Problem solved. Now you should have given me 200 merit. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)
Watching.

- If the account receiving the points has ever posted using the same IP ever used by the sending account - reduce by 100%
While unlikely, that both the sender and receiver are *coincidentally* on the same VPN and the same node what about them?

I hope there will no merit selling services offered ! ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) The same way there were no escrow scamming services by Quickseller. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)
|
|
|
Will this not be abused by those who have a lot of accounts?
BINGO. Scammers like Quickseller will soon have the highest Merit on the forum. I don't see this as any kind of solution to anything as long as farming, multiple accounts and signature campaigns are still allowed. I'm not going to whore myself out there with BS posts to gain merit. :/ You understand it..

I wonder if *merit trading* will be bannable. I can totally see people trying to buy/sell their sMerit.
But do you have this text: You are a merit source. The next 100 merit you spend will come from your source rather than your sMerit balance. Merit spent from your source will come back in 30 days. Unused source merit is wasted. It is not allowed for merit sources to sell their merit. Where did you find that?
|
|
|
I've just noticed one thing. I've tested out the system and gave 5 pts to OP, then aTriz gave me 5pts and my spendable amount is at 82 now.
So does that mean that we receive 40-50% from the merit points we received to our spendable merit points?
I sent aTriz 20 to test this, and his sMerit increased by 10. If that's so, I have a follow up question that is: What's stopping some users to make a deal and just spam each other with merit points on every other post?
Very good question. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) There's this: You can only send 50 merit to a given user per 30 days. You have already sent 50 merit to that user.
I'm not sure how effective it is going to be though.

Possibly related to my copper membership, or maybe DT? We could figure this out, are you a source as well?
No. I do have over 200 sMerit.
I wonder if *merit trading* will be bannable. I can totally see people trying to buy/sell their sMerit.

I would like to know whether this system of merit can further influence campaigns beyond classification is it necessary a certain amount of merit? Does anyone have this information?
Of course it can. Instead of ranks, use *minimum merit* campaigns. You can make *very elite* campaigns by asking for extremely high merit counts.
It would be nice to see someone chart this into a ranking and some graphical data (quantiles or something).

|
|
Seems to give the option to merit my own posts strange?
If you try, you will get the following: You cannot send merit to yourself
|
|
|
My next question is: Who are all the sources of merit?
|
|
|
OP, your post is: Merited by theymos (1)
It will be interesting to see how these points will be awarded, not that I'm too fond of the idea.

Remove your comment, regain a tiny bit of dignity, and I'll remove this quote. You might still be able to salvage some sort of goodwill.
You're a cute leftist. Unfortunately, that doesn't go well with intelligence. Are you trying to turn this thread into a*insertOver100Genders* discussion?

...If the user who marked him is on DT1 or DT2; staff; or any other list to be decided, then the marked user losses the right to wear a signature. This way, it's not up to signature managers to allow them into a campaign or not. The forum would disable the signature for him... ... Some details should be discussed, but that would be the idea.
But, but! *insert complain from a shitposter*: The DT1/2 members can't participate in a signature campaign themselves, or it is obvious abuse!! ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
This is the kind of bullshit that that suggestion will receive, although I like the idea (something similar was proposed via bans a long time ago).

...I am always proud of my nationality...
You should never be proud of your nationality(ies), regardless of which one(s) you are. There's nothing to be proud of, you did nothing for it. It's utterly useless and just creates discrimination. Side note: It's part of the controlling business, just like religion. The kool-aid is nice though, isn't it? ..who are destroying the reputation Filipino here...
There's nothing to destroy nor does anyone really care.
Read, and use your brain before responding. This is not about *Filipinos*, it is about any shitposter (most of which are from Asia given our years of experience over here).

Please, get off this forums for a few days and see how a civilized and a world with freedom works.
Correct. Let the person that got jailed for insulting a gender-switching-degenerate [2] tell you how this world, created by said leftist bullshit, is very nice. Idiota. Blazed! please stop this, why you do this every time?
Blazed did nothing wrong. We need more active DT members rather than more dormant-pretend-heroes. You can't tell them to not manage a campaign because they're incapable of doing so but encourage them to use SMAS list as it would help recruiting deserving posters and keep the junk away.
Using SMAS should be default[1] + your own blacklist (if you're that *advanced* with your campaigns).
[1] If you don't, you're just needlessly wasting man-hours. [2] For those that are confused by this: I'm not calling stingers that (why would I?). Read the news every once in a while.
