but mostly people do not know when to stop and lead them into losing too much which they can't afford.
How do you know when to stop? After your first win? After your nth win? There's no way to tell. As soon as you wager the first bet, you're already losing.

I can say yhst martingale is working pretty good on me. Everything seems to be perfect but when greediness is coming then I will start losing everything.
Greed ≠ Loss. It's all variance. Doesn't matter whether you're greedy or not: it doesn't affect the statistical outcome of -0.01 ev.
4083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with picking a wallet? on: November 05, 2017, 07:31:42 AM
Probably easiest wallet for newcomers is Electrum if you want a slightly less secure wallet in terms of privacy. Bitcoin Core is the way to go if you want to host your own node as it offers more privacy but you do have to download the entire blockchain to synchronize which is 50+ GB right now.
4084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about change address on: November 05, 2017, 07:29:57 AM
You can give out the change address as it can receive bitcoins: after all that's how the change address got the .2 in the first place. However it won't matter because you're consuming multiple tx inputs for the transaction and thus the size will be the same as if you were to receive the btc to a different address.

Not sure about seed stuff, someone else can help answer.
4085  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a study guide here in the forum? on: November 05, 2017, 02:11:14 AM
Read the stickies in Meta. Don't break rules. Don't be stupid.
I don't think it's a very hard task to just simply explore the forum for a day or two, reading all the stickies so that you don't do anything stupid. Reading will also prevent you from spamming/scamming, so that's a plus. Wink
4086  Economy / Reputation / Re: yet negative feedback on: November 04, 2017, 09:12:50 PM
not like LAUDA him fk soo many account
How ironic that someone who tries to buy accounts accuses Lauda of having many alternate accounts.

but i prove it i am onest give in last 4 month soo why cant get back my account to 0 positive?
Being honest for X amount of time does not mean that you get a clean slate: any markings on it remain regardless of how long you've been good. If someone shot up a place then remained an honest man afterward for 10 years, do you still trust them with guns?

Did you just indirectly admit to trading in order to farm up trust?
Note the sudden increase in untrusted feedback during October.
4087  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: November 03, 2017, 07:56:56 PM
I saw the date of the first post. I think that 10 BTC donation for Donator as sub rank is too expensive due to the rise of btc, isn't it?
This has been discussed before. The donation ranks are based in BTC. Perhaps originally the designation was because it made sense for the USD value but as soon as the first donators have done it, that is the set price. It would be unfair to lower the price as it takes away the weight of the donation.

Losing bets are also shown in high roller tab, i'm not sure but i think 0.05 bet also qualifies to be shown in high roller tab?
Nope. IIRC, the high roller tab only features bets that satisfy either of the following conditions:
Bet amount ≥ 0.1 BTC (I'm not sure about altcoins so this is purely concerning bitcoin)
Profit ≥ 0.1 BTC (")
Yeah, it looks like a lucky win streak. sometimes i hate this account/stats hiding feature lol.
It's a trade between the privacy of users and full transparency.

4090  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked on: November 02, 2017, 07:43:49 AM
denisj has no address posted on the forum. Did you ever send a BTC address via a PM?
I see no real reason for recovery either, considering the fact that it's just a Newbie account (apart from the 84 potential activity accrued). Why not start anew? You only really posted in Mining and thus you aren't losing out on anything by using a new account. It's just too much of a hassle to try and recover the old one, esp. without a staked address.
4091  Other / Meta / Re: Please, unlock my account (Signed message) on: November 01, 2017, 11:40:33 PM
My account was not hacked, just locked.
I find this hard to believe.

"This user's password was reset recently.

This user's email address was changed recently.

This user changed his/her password recently."

You would change your email address just on a whim? Then suddenly lock the account? Are you sure this wasn't a sold account? Wink

Let's take a look at the security log:

October 12, 2017, 04:45:11 PM - spydud22 - password changed
October 19, 2017, 10:44:14 PM - spydud22 - password reset via email
October 31, 2017, 02:39:33 PM - spydud22 - password changed
-snip-
Looks like you were faster than me.

This is suspicious. 3 password changes in ~2 weeks?
4092  Other / Meta / Re: Please, unlock my account (Signed message) on: November 01, 2017, 11:02:38 PM
Did you read the sticky?

Follow this format:

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
My account <account> has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to <email>. The current date is <date>.
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
<insert address here>
<insert signature here>
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: ...
OR
I sent that address to someone in a PM with PM ID#...

and PM it to Cyrus OR theymos. It's unlikely that your account will be recovered in a short time, but there can be exceptions. Expect a hiatus.

src: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
I notice that the address you're signing with is the one on the profile. Have you posted this elsewhere?
4093  Other / Meta / Re: Negative Trust on: November 01, 2017, 11:00:46 PM
The DT list is the list of highly trusted members. These members are trusted by Theymos and other forum moderators. To find the DT list simply go to your profile. On your profile click the blue text saying trust. Then go to trust settings. Then scroll down. This list of members is known as the DT list.
Nope.

DefaultTrust is automatically set to trust level 0 on every user's profiles until they remove it.
DefaultTrust contains some users in its trust list:
Code:
        theymos
        HostFat
        dooglus
        Maged
        dserrano5
        OgNasty
        Tomatocage
        SaltySpitoon
        philipma1957
        Cyrus
        Blazed
        hilariousandco
        OldScammerTag

These users are considered DT1. DT1 members can give trusted feedback to user profiles, since they are in trust depth 1 of normal users' trust lists.
Additionally, DT1 members can add other users to their trust list. These such users are considered DT2. They can also give trusted feedback to user profiles.

By default, one's trust depth is set at 2. Thus, DT3 members' feedback will not typically appear to be trusted on a user's trust profile.
Don't trust DT1/DT2 all the time, though. Make informed decisions.
4094  Other / Meta / Re: Postins per day and reposting time. on: November 01, 2017, 09:35:09 PM
This information is the first time I have seen here, of that, if my account is old if I post with quality, I recover the activities?

Sample account for 3 months = 84 activities, correct?

If I do not post on this account for 3 months, can I recover?

or do I have to wait the next 14 days?

Only this information is missing to connect the dots!
You gain potential activity by having at least one post in an activity period. These periods are in (roughly) durations of one fortnight each. If you miss posting in an activity period, you do not gain the potential activity. Thus, there will not be an increase in activity.
4095  Other / Meta / Re: You don't remove likely scams, But you do remove other threads? on: November 01, 2017, 09:32:02 PM
No mod replied and the only guy who replied told me that he thinks rule 21 only applies to sales threads. But if that was the case, I don’t have a clue about why my posts got deleted.
Here's my take on what happened: the previous two replies are spam, straight-up. Not only are they spam but they are also necroposts. If the necropost is useful i.e. constructive then it is allowed but obviously those two posts are trash.

Suppose they are deleted. Your post is left. However, you had a post earlier (August). We now adhere to this rule: 32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

And thus your post is deleted. Seems a little stupid, but that's the only reason I would see your post be deleted. It's not spam.

The signature does not verify in Bitcoin Core. Are there any trailing spaces or new lines?
I verified using Electrum.
The signature is just missing the '=', so here's the actual full signed message w/o any unwanted characters enclosed in quotes:

4097  Other / Meta / Re: To limit the number of daily posts of Newbies to prevent scammers and FUDers. on: November 01, 2017, 08:36:28 AM
Still it might be interesting to see what is the community opinion of the issue at the end of the poll.
Suppose the limit of 1 post a day is implemented.

Scammer perspective: "I will no longer be able to post more than 1 time a day. I will now create dozens of new accounts in order to try and scam on each one since this is the only way I can bypass the limit."
Spammer/FUDster perspective: "I cannot spread FUD more than once a day. Therefore, I must create dozens of new accounts in order to post more than once on the thread."

Both are essentially the same. This limit also indirectly helps them as they create more opportunities to scam/spread FUD and start to flood the forum more.
The only thing this really prevents is bots... kind of. One could simply create a huge mass of accounts and then use them. Sure, they won't be able to spam as much but it will still be automated bullshit that nobody wants.
And this is disregarding the negative impact towards people who may have hacked accounts & want to respond to the thread or newbies who are trying to help someone in a discussion that may be time-sensitive.
4098  Other / Meta / Re: account was banned ? on: November 01, 2017, 08:29:08 AM
I saw some people talk about my country fairy tale. I just want to point out the plot of the story they do not know
Bullshit. You were just posting with another user (probably your alt) lines from that fairy tale article.
From a thread titled bitcoin discussion:
What does this even have to do with bitcoin? Nothing. Just like every other account in there you're copy and pasting completely irrelevant stuff because you  figured you can get away with it due to that board having no mod.

I actually looked through that thread as well. It's chock full of random bullshit that they're spewing. The bitcoin discussion thread was actually never about bitcoin. Even on the first page, it's just nonsense. And given the posting times between the users, I'm willing to say that this is how accounts are being farmed.

Check this out:

translated: In addition, the legend was the centerpiece of the classic Athena stage. The tragic writers Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides take most of their plot from the myths of the heroic age and the Troy War. Many great tragedy stories (eg, Agamemnon and the children, Oedipus, Jason, Medea, etc.) take their classic form in these tragic works. Comedian Aristophanes also uses mythology, in The Birds and Frogs (via Google Translate, but the point is there)
What the fuck?

Most of the posts there are just copy-pasted content. It's absolutely ridiculous. This is what people do for activity, huh? Roll Eyes
4099  Other / Meta / Re: Some activity points are being reduced from time to time. on: November 01, 2017, 08:01:24 AM
If your activity decreases without a moderation notice in your inbox, then it is because you are posting in shitty threads that are being trashed. Try not to do that next time. Stay away from threads with 20+ pages of replies with vague/general questions as their title.

You cannot contribute to the lack of discussion in such a thread and thus all posts can be deemed spam.
4100  Other / Meta / Re: Cleaning out the forum of all the "scum" on: November 01, 2017, 06:41:57 AM
This is a nice idea, sort of, but it's what we have the feedback system for.
Exactly. A thread would be redundant real fast and would be home to all sorts of useless spam. There isn't any point to hosting a list as everyone who has credible evidence of being a scammer would be tagged as soon as the Scam Accusation thread opens up (or hypothetically if an entry was filled in such a list). Then there's no point of keeping the list.
