Yeppers.  Now running with ->

--avalon-options 115200:32:10:d:256 --avalon-fan 100 --bitburner-fury-voltage 900

That has thus far yielded 47.19Ghash (that's roughly 23.6Ghash per board). Undecided

H@shKraker

So you get the same results. That's weird. Try with 950 voltage and same speed. Or just try various voltages (increment by 10). Both boards hashing?

KNC took their lumps, not sure what else you can say there.

But I think you might have a sore spot here if nothing shows up by next weekend

why is it so hard to believe that they are going to be late due to circumstances out of their control?  which company, including KNC, delivered on time?

as i said before, i should be the one upset as an order holder in HF.  what's your beef?

The thing is, as Amy helpfully pointed out, the delays are not due to silicon.  In other words, they've failed with some other aspect of design or failed in some other equally lulworthy way, like designing their boards around parts they're unable to source.  Imagine if KNC delayed shipping because the standoffs on their cases didn't line up with the holes in the boards, or the screws they ordered had the wrong thread pitch Shocked  It's *THAT* sort of incompetence we're talking about.

As far as you having more cause to be upset?  Sure.  Though it's as satisfying as seing a used car salesman getting stuck with one of the lemons he tried to push Cheesy

AFAIK it is a supplier that is having the difficulty delivering as per their projected time line.

What exactly are they trying to acquire from that supplier?
4103  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 20, 2013, 05:29:34 PM
Deep breath, people.  Relax.

Hashfast never finalized a case design and hasn't missed any dates yet.

There are strong indications are that they will hit their end of the month promise, or come very very close.

Don't start beating the crap out of them before they've had a chance to deliver, it hurts your credibility if you need to seek compensation later, as you come across as being the kind of person that will bitch and moan no matter what happens.

Save the hysterics and vitriol for when they really deserve it.  But right now, we're still 10 days from the end of their projected shipping window.

And yes, I was a BFL customer, and yes, I am a batch one customer.

Have you seen any real PCB for the chips? Nobody saw. I think the case shouldn't concern you, but the lack of proof of any other equipments should.

Roy Badami,

Here are my avalon-options options I've been running since last night at 6:00 p.m. Central US time ->

--avalon-options 115200:32:10:d:260 --avalon-fan 100 --bitburner-fury-voltage 1100

With those options I am seeing that both boards are hashing (via all three LEDs blinking) *BUT* I'm getting a whopping 57Ghash for the two board pair (yep ... that's 23.5Ghash per board).  I'll  try the avalon-options and volt options you mention and get back to you with results.

H@shKraker

Wow. Lower your voltage. Try with 950 for 260 freq. The 1100 i think it's the max of the chip and you don't want to stress it so much. If 950 isn't working try with 940 or 960. I found that for 265 the best voltage is between 980 and 1000 depending on the hardware errors.
4105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 20, 2013, 01:07:18 PM
back to all 3 sats running 0.96, but they all hang around 275 now still  Smiley
same procedure on all 3 saturns...
1. flash 0.90 on the miner, reboot
2. flash enablecores.bin to the miner, POWER CYCLE the miner.
3. putty in and watch cgminer until it crashes, when it does, go to the gui page again, and flash 0.96 back onto the miner, apply, then POWER CYCLE the miner(turn off for 15 seconds via the power supply switch)
thats it.
i had 3 sats going at 255, 265, and 275....  now all at 270 - 275ish

Where do i get enablecores.bin?
4106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 20, 2013, 01:05:03 PM

just to clarify this, Eduardo CEO ok'd me releasing this Oct 17 date.  unfortunately, it represented the earliest, most optimistic date of the estimated window and it turns out this wasn't met.

Ok just to clarify something. KnC had chips available at the end of September when promissed. They also were just a few days (2-3) late for their first shipments. Of course some of the Day 2 customers occurred a longer delay, but overall they weren't late by a lot. HF already has a longer delay than KnC. Grats on that!

Updated firmware on both units and started mining with cgminer version 3.6.4

Now hashing at ~96GHs

Cheers,
QG

You should try running them at 265 with 980-1050mV because you should get the same results with less heat and consumption.
4108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitburner Fury - Hashrate Protection on: October 19, 2013, 09:42:53 PM
Anyone tried undervolting the chips?

Edit: I can't seem to find the right voltage for 270. I get the same performance as 265 with many voltage settings.
4109  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitburner Fury - Hashrate Protection on: October 19, 2013, 08:17:46 PM
Another thing is that the second board also got as warm as the first.  If it weren't hashing wouldn't it be noticeably cooler?

H@shKraker

Another thought: no one else has managed to get a single board to hash anywhere near 64GH/s - mine hash at about 46GH/s but some people get slightly more, some slightly less.

In the unlikely event that you were lucky enough to get one board that hashes at 64GH/s, it's still highly unlikely that your second board can hash at anywhere near the speed.  I've had boards stop hashing until I power cycled them if I tried to push them way faster than they were capable.  Try reducing your clock speed and your second board might mine.

ETA: I see you posted your cgminer options.  A frequency setting of 290 is pretty high.  Start at 256 and work up from there - I mine at 275 but everyone's boards are different.

What voltage do you use for 275? I mine at 265 with 980 and i get 48GH/s per board with very low hw errors.

For those having trouble reflashing, perform these steps in exact order-make sure board is not powered or conected via USB, first :

1.Start pic32prog.exe
2.Connect the USB cable -if you have already plugged in the mini USB end, leave it and just disconnect/conect the USB end to PC.
3.Power cycle the board
4.Click on connect tab from  pc32prog in 5s
5.Reflash

Edit: So far I'm experiencing some problems with original fw+ cgminer 3.6.1 or  3.6.2, so I 'm on 3.5.1 now testing more . I didn't reflash my board yet cause I'm ok with performance so far, getting arround 51 Gh/s on  280/1390.I also set cgwatcher to monitor and restart the board every 5 h.

Ok that worked. Thank you! You should have a tip address in your signature Wink

Here is my small review:

PROS:  Very good idea with the small boxes for boards!! Good packaging overall.
Thank you cryptx for providing with jumpers and with a CAN bus cable and all the needed accessories. I've read that some people didn't received CAN bus and i was really scared about that.
No problems so far with the USB plug.

CONS: One week later than anticipated.
          Low performance.

Overall i'm ok with my order. The lack of pictures before taking money made me think there will be some problems so i was prepared. Learned my lesson.

I also skip the new cgminer cause it's crash after a few hours running. Still using cgminer from someone42.

Just receive a refund email, in time for another hardware purchase Cheesy

Order number?

Hey Bitcoinrama or KnC will we be able to upgrade the cgminer in the future?

Will try later and will also post a small review. Have you tried 3.6.4? I was having some issues with 3.6.1 (some kind of memory leak and cgminer was closing when ran out of memory), but it seems fixed with the last version.

Virtual Mining Corp. started taking orders for its equipment in July, with one recent purchase reaching $140,000, Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Slaughter said.
“We are starting to do a lot of big sales,” said Slaughter, who is also mining Bitcoins."

Oh joy - another cgminer fail.
They didn't implement device details in my API ( 'devs' returns an error)
... and the very useful API 'stats' returns no details on them either.
Sigh ...

as long as you can fix it this probably means there's room for perf imporvment Tongue

Not possible without hardware.
4117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitburner Fury - Hashrate Protection on: October 18, 2013, 09:36:28 PM
BUT: Be aware, the numbers you are used to putting in for --bitburner-voltage are not true voltages; they are Avalon-compatible voltages that are 300mV higher than what the boards really run at.  (Bitfury chips run at 900mV compared to Avalon chips which run at 1200mV).

So if you're used to saying, for example "--bitburner-voltage 1350" to overvolt your Bitburner Fury boards with the old firmware then with BBF firmware you will need to use "--bitburner-fury-voltage 1050" to achieve the same effect - both cause the board to run at 1050mV.  Fortunately I think cgminer will reject "--bitburner-fury-voltage 1350", and even if it didn't the boards are incapable of complying - which is just as well, because if you really put 1350mV through the Bitfury chips that would pretty much certainly fry them.

But still, be careful with your voltages!

roy

Finally some good information. I used 1300mV, but in cgminer i see ~1060mV. Shouldn't it be 1000mV?

Edit: what is the max safe temp? 55? 60?

The guide on page 13 or 14 by rage was helpful, I followed it had some problwms not recognising but ran zadig a few times to get it right. You should see bitburner in devices in control panel. after that make the script in notepad to run as a .bat file at it worked. Try powering board off and on also . I was having trouble with a bfl single which was connected also but it cleared after running the zadig utility.

Just noticed roadstress your a hero member, you shd be telling me this shouldnt you?

It's hard to keep track of everything, but thank you. I just read pages 13 and 14 and helped a bit. Will post an update
4119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 18, 2013, 08:05:16 PM
Also...they signed an agreement to buy off the shelf PSUs? Because i don't think they will design a CUSTOM PSU.

Contracting for a lower price by agreeing to a volume is pretty common in the business world.  Both sides win (and likely have compensation if agreement is not lived up to).  No need for a custom unit if stock units fill the need.

Ok that works, but still the announcement is just lame. They could've just sign with them and cash the discount Smiley
4120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitburner Fury - Hashrate Protection on: October 18, 2013, 07:43:49 PM
Restart pc , it shd help and cgminer 3.5.1. At least

Did restart. Nothing. Switched USB ports. And cgminer isn't helping me at all since i can't flash the boards.

Edit: What are the default settings. Maybe they will work with the original firmware.
