Doesn't that equate to BFL shipping before January 14?
For me equates to "We have no idea what we are doing".

Hurray for a lull in trolling.
Here, have some more courtesy of BFL: We will definitely not be shipping the week of the 11th, but we should still be getting the chips this month and I should have the exact date from the fab (as in, they will be in breach of contract if they don't deliver by that date) by the end of the week I am told. I have finally discovered why I was not able to acquire that information before now, which helps me get a better handle on the timeline.
We are absolutely still on target to be the first ASIC vendor to ship and I hope to have a specific timeline by this weekend for everyone, Satoshi willing https://forums.butterflylabs.com/bfl-forum-miscellaneous/492-good-news-good-read-2.html#post7277

How many MHash does that thing provide?

I think there's a train that works this way. In Switzerland.
There are active Maglev train test tracks all over the world and maglev trains servicing customers in Japan, China and South Korea already. This has nothing to do with perpetual energy however.

Can't do that here, not without at least clearing it with his primary employer. This is grounds for immediate termination and no court of labor law is likely to side with him here.
Is "here" in your statement above Germany, or at least in the EU? There's no way it would be grounds for immediate termination of an employee in my country. Germany.

You forgot the rest of the picture there. Here's the whole rig: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftn.loljam.com%2F14%2Fupload%2Fpost%2F201209%2F29%2F521%2Fgallery%2Fmemes-troll-science-time-is-money.jpg&t=663&c=UyfGwnNdvLtVDg)

5 BTC? I swear, people are fucking cheap...even if it's just trolling.
It's a better deal than Tesla got.

Some of these were broken despite the fact the one time pad systems cannot be "broken" persay.
The combination of re-using keys, stolen code books and using the same prefix at the start of certain daily messages(like weather) they did manage to crack several messages using primitive purpose build computers.
Yeah, but to do that you need a lot more cyphertext and a reasonable estimation of what parts of the plaintext would be.

It can't work because of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservation_of_energy. Generating energie out of nowhere is impossible. It (hypothetically) might be possible to create something thats keeps spinning at a constant speed, in a vacuum and with no friction. That's it period. Fake. Really? Excuse my bad paint skills. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi45.tinypic.com%2F2113nra.gif&t=663&c=WBHtsBEs_cyrnw) Why do people always assume that things are impossible? Nothing is. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reece-eu.net%2Fstuffs%2Ftrollphysx%2Ftrollscience-wind-turbine.jpg&t=663&c=YsCcikk_m2nP1w)

Eh, he can make it, if he drives from Alaska to Russia. It's only 50 miles or so. Over the ocean.
I'll let someone more nautical answer this, but I'm pretty sure the Bering Strait isn't considered part of the ocean. Also the temperature would adversely affect MPG, so it would be cutting it rather slim. Assuming a highway was magically paved across, of course. Isn't it frozen in winter? I thought I read something once about guys crossing the strait on foot.

Are you running the latest client? 0.7.1?

Good luck but without men with guns backing up the court its pretty much pointless.
Who says Mr. Popescu doesn't have men with guns backing him up?

Well, better little old ladies than little 8 year old kids (Apple, I'm looking at you).
At least they get their shit done. If Apple would be BFL we would still be using one of those: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.old-computers.com%2Fmuseum%2Fphotos%2Fapple_1.jpg&t=663&c=VO7aT5nKlMhO4g) I maintain that wood fronts are awesome and should never have been abandoned.
