4141  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 23, 2014, 01:22:58 PM
Did Bitmain announce pricing yet, or is that just speculation?  Wasn't around this weekend, so I missed any price announcements.

Now, what would be even more ironic is if Butterfly Lab's Monarch somehow makes a cameo appearance in someone's home before the X-3.

Nah, that's some fairy tale shit.   Tongue

Wow if it was 2013, I would've guessed BA's X-3 beat out KNC's Neptune to the market if I was a betting man.

So wrong about that:

Pathetic....
4144  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [INTEREST] CoiningSolutions.com Bitmain AntMiner S3 List on: June 20, 2014, 08:36:11 PM
To thread initiator:

I speculate that the price is 0.85BTC as I mentioned on the main thread.

I suggest that you either remove the info on suggested price or give it a larger bracket, for fairness sake.

You speculate 0.85 BTC for the Bitmain's retail price or 0.85 BTC for Waldohoover's group buy?  Because either way, Waldohoover's rate in theory should be lower than the one that will be listed on the website soon.

Makes you miss RitzGrandCasino even more... Cry

RGC was the best sig campaign in BCT history. PD/Stunna knows he's the only big dog in town, so he's cutting back now.
4146  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: June 20, 2014, 07:30:33 PM
Lol, been lurking here to see if PD would raise rates in case I have to jump back to this sig campaign.

Not yet it seems.  No rate hike and 100 post cap per week = No Bueno.

Average 95% doesn't look too hot to me.

Hmm, look at the first 3 numbers, that's the recent history.  Lately, it's been pretty good.
4148  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 20, 2014, 06:55:59 PM
What unit is cheaper?  If S3 buy it...if not snag one of these.  If you can not figure out how to stack something like this...not sure what to tell you  Undecided

That's pretty much it, price.

If the S3 is priced decently, then the answer is clear.  If not, I'll have to take some woodshop classes for these things.   Tongue
4149  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 20, 2014, 06:45:24 PM
Also, this thing is not stackable at all, something it looks like you can do easily with the S3 without shelving.

I don't know, you get a couple of lag bolts in the holes on the bottom and top two sides of the X and you may be able to stack these. Not easily of course, but still stackable.

*without custom work done.  S3 is stackable out of the box already.
4150  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: RK-BOX,450GH/S,480W ,shipping date 25th on: June 20, 2014, 06:40:07 PM
For those of you who haven't seen the Rocket Box video yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekgsAmnNChQ&feature=youtu.be

They say it comes with a pi, usb hub and all cables.

Holy shit, spaghetti wires like you talk about!   Huh

Something about a loose Pi and USB hub and USB cables all over the dam place just sounds messy.  And that doesn't even factor in the power connection to the PSU yet.

So far S3 has the edge over the RK-box in simplicity.  No pi's, hubs, put wire through this hole, then plug here nonsense.

Nothing matters besides ROI...who cares what it looks like.

Actually, looks does matter.  If a x wire snags on y wire on your home shelf, then you try to pull on one and it snags and the whole thing falls off...spaghetti wires does matter.

Also, this thing is not stackable at all, something it looks like you can do easily with the S3 without shelving.
4151  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Boycott GHASH.IO/CEX.IO permanently on: June 20, 2014, 06:28:08 PM
The problem is that no one matches cex.io's service.

Cex.io's totally up to date.

The others are living in the stone age...

What's wrong with BTCGuild?  I've been mining there since December, and it's always up.  If there's any outages or downtime it's for like a couple minutes tops.

Stable as a motherf#cka.
I've been having much better payouts since leaving the Guild.

Hmm, seems okay of late:

Don't like Eligius, because I'm not a big time miner, so I'd rather take the 0.01 BTC as often as I can.

Is my old memory going or did these just increase a couple hundred dollars on their website?

lketc.com

What did it use to be?  Shows 2.73 BTC or $1600 currently.

Purify with the sacred flame brother Mathias.....  Roll Eyes

Do you guys feel the same about Walmart, McDonalds, etc?

Why, does Walmart and McDonalds attempt to double spend Bitcoins and execute a 51% attack on the network?   Roll Eyes

AFAIK CEX.IO/GHash.IO hasn't launched an attack on BTC, nor expressed any such intentions.  I can't speak to the double spending, other than to say it doesn't make sense for an exchange; Mt GOX implosion scenario, et al.

RE: Walmart and Mickey D's; both have been accused using their enormous market share to drive smaller competitors out, through under-pricing; a fiat currency 51% attack, if yo will.

I haven't heard calls for burning Ronald McDonald at the stake, nor expressions that its good to die opposing the construction of a Walmart.  Why such rhetoric for CEX.IO/GHash.IO?  Seriously.

You sound like a witch

It's probably because he mines at GHash, is why he's defending it so ardently.

Ooh pretty website with pretty features, 0% fee NICE!   Roll Eyes

Ooh, what's this button do (clicks it), "51% ATTACK ON BITCOIN NETWORK ENABLED, PREPARE FOR DOUBLE SPENDS LIKE A MUTHAFUCKA!"   Ghash.IO users: "dafuq did we do, we killed Bitcoin...." Cry Cry Cry
4155  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: June 20, 2014, 05:39:52 PM
Excellent guide!  And I like how it is updated.

I wish I learned about it sooner.  I first found out via a link on another thread about an hour ago.

i too thought so and i checked the guide before i went to a website- i then did business with the business and lost money... i then contacted dogie and sent tx id... he then responded you got scammed by a scammer- well no duh... thats why i let him know and he refused to lower the rating... so its kinda useless, when its right its just coincidence it has no true meaning

Add this guy to ignore lists, he added a scammer to skype, sent them money now wants me to downvote the actual legitimate business.

I WENT TO THE WEBSITE- THE WEBSITE ON THIS LIST - just proved my point- still havent addressed the obvious- i would have to go to the website to get the skype name- the website has a skype icon to click on which generates an automatic connection to the websites personal, implying i got hold of a scammer would mean that i then did a search for the name of the icon before me which makes no sense - so the scammer existed within the company- so i let this guy know and as you see he has other interests or he would want this info and make practical observations- not excuses - so just be warned any time he is correct it is just coincidence not because he has done his due diligence or accepted feedback based on tx id - just right to the "you got scammed" without thinking it through- the implication is that i would not have used the website-but if i did not then i wouldnt have seen the product that i wanted and even known of the skype name to search for ---definately irrational, no apologies for his mistake and has been rude- ignore me all you want so i dont get replies from people who would have similar erroneous thought processes

What website did you go to?  Don't tell me you added or typed the wrong skype name of the seller, and are blaming Dogie's guide for leading the way?
4156  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [INTEREST] CoiningSolutions.com Bitmain AntMiner S3 List on: June 20, 2014, 05:36:42 PM
I don't like the 'culty' answer - negativity will not be tolerated? (is that another way of saying don't defy me? - freedom of speech?) I realise that criticism may not feel nice, but it's me being honest.

you guys want me offer a group buy for a forum of peers and be transaparent, I would be more than happy to. I am in the process of opening a UK consultancy for BTC - I have already had several prior conversations with bitmain via mail.

I would also be happy to do it all absolutely transparently (i.e tell you guys at every stage, what money has been collected and how much bitmain offered to cut me a deal for) then pass the savings on YOU (which you would know since you have all the 'official'numbers/prices)

I don't know if this is meant to be 50/50 help other users and make money, or simply to make money.

IF anyone is interested in clear and open group buy, I would be happy to do it (when the S3 is released or close to it of course, orders here are speculative)

In the interest of clarity, I'm not a noobs trying to stir shit and disappear. I'm literally interested in us/myself getting the absolute best deal.

4158  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Free unlimited electricity... where to start? on: June 20, 2014, 01:34:04 PM
Buy Antminer S1's. You can get them damn cheap because they aren't that efficient anymore. But you don't care about efficiency.

You'll need power supplies and network access.

 Cool Grin Cool Grin

I would agree with you, until the news of the Antminer S3 struck like thunder yesterday.

If you got free electric, the S3 is the way to go.

That depends on timing.  1 week could mean the difference between profit and loss, especially with KNC about to pump out their Q1/Q2 Neptunes supposedly.

True, but have you seen the Neptunes, it's not 1 case or enclosure anymore.  It's just 5 600 GH/s boxes now:

You know people will buy farms of the S3, and it'll definitely be cheaper than the Neptunes.  Bitmain already has 20% of the network hash rate, I could easily see it go to a third if the S3 is priced right.

But yes, with both Bitmain and KNC releasing around the same time, all miners profits will be cut into immensely.
4159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: June 20, 2014, 01:22:06 PM
I don't understand all the love you guys show for Bitmain. Yes, they have delivered. No, their price has been reasonable, but not good for us miners.

Donno, my last few S1s that haven't reached breakeven will do so very soon (and that's with paying Swedish VAT on them) My first batch are sitting at around 20-25% profit in BTC (what more could you reasonably ask for?)

Rograz, now that Bitmain has become an established company due to the support of miners and what appears to be a good business plan.  I think it would be reasonable to ask for 35-45% RoI for miners(market dependent and before VAT).

I suspect based off of the miners I have received, and posts I have read of other forum users that Bitmain doesn't just stress test(QC) units before they ship but actually uses them until they ship, then ship them as 'new' at a 20-50%(decreasing as the hash rate increases) markup on their manufacturing cost.  Thus netting them miner and markup(double return) of 60-80%(guesstimate).  Granted this is just speculation(like most of this thread) but it is by no means a crazy leap of logic.

I also don't begrudge them this business model, I think its a smart way to RoI, however I would like to see slightly more on our(miners) end of things.

Well at times they offer coupons and the s-1's were a really good buy some of the time. The hardest thing for them is  pricing correctly.  I never felt the s-2 was worth buying so I never purchased one. I purchased 16 s-1's 3 I overpaid looking back with
hindsight  but 13 of them were a fair price.

Based on rk-box at $599 these would be killer at $599.  All they need to do is price match the rk-box since it appears that this is a better piece of gear.  Have to wait and see.

Agreed Philip, also they have to price the S3 in BTC not fiat like they did the S2.  Basically price it the same way they did the S1, with the price cuts here and there, and they'll have another winner on their hands.

What is the purpose of this?

"To create a large enough group order to get a bulk discount.. and hopefully become a reseller"

^ isn't in the interest of everyone nor is it entirely beneficial if your not going to disclose what you make! no disrespect but why should you make an undisclosed amount off other peoples btc  and why shouldn't I just offer to be entirely transparent on payments (which your not!) and give people the actual figures.

I for one wouldn't be happy paying you 10% less for something that your getting 30% discount on. I mean anybody could be doing this, just so happens you've seen an opportunity to make money with no capital. True fairness would be disclosing all figures (yes keep a cut! but be transparent)

I've been in contact with Yoshi, orders are being mooted and collected here and BITMAIN haven't even released nor priced.

I'm ok with having Waldohoover taking a cut, especially if he can give us a deep discount off the retail price.  Deep discount being similar in percentage to the one Juan gave the forum for his group buy of the S2's at $1650 back in May.

If you think you can do better, why don't you setup a Group Buy.   Tongue
