4141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police Arrest on: June 21, 2020, 04:42:51 AM
If I were the judge then I will put him on guilty because he is an official and he is serving the government, mining could've been his hobby but he is using a government property thus he should be guilty, plus the state are trying to protect their government cyber infrastructure and with the mining farm seen as a threat that will compromise, he also breached the work ethics which is using your workplace as a base for personal operation. So, he is guilty in my opinion.
4142  Economy / Economics / Re: An interesting case of a widespread misconception on: June 20, 2020, 07:23:11 AM
It's actually funny that some people think they're paying for those who get rich. That when someone advances onto another floor of this wealth pyramid he has to do it at the expense of someone else and throw that person down.
When someone values whatever you own higher, you become more wealthy, but it doesn't mean other people's holdings have to lose value. You can have an old war relic lying in the attic and later find out it's worth 100k USD. If someone buys it he will not lose money or literally finance your wealth but simply transfer the ownership of that valuable item. Everything will remain in equilibrium and a new item will enter the market.
Bitcoin wil be that new item ofexchange. Something that will allow people to transfer value, just like when a new fiat currency is created. When a new country was formed and it had its own currency, nobody had to lose for it to go into circulation. It just did.

Don't forget that there's not enough fiat money in the world to buy everything people have to offer (every single car, plane, boat, piece of land).
That is kind of confusing because that is not how prices work, to make it all simple, the price goes up just like a normal currency. This kind of misconception is very prevalent, good thing about that is there are people who are going to refute this idea to make something better out of it.
4143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we invest in a bitcoin exchange? on: June 20, 2020, 05:43:44 AM
Keep an eye out of this platforms that offers bitcoin exchange source code especially if you do not have a deep background or extensive technical knowledge on this matter since building a cryptocurrency exchange is not as simple as we might think.

Building an exchange should be done deliberately and having the control of people's money, and being the intermediary of their trades needs a well-educated technical team behind a complex project. Secondly, it is a no-brainer that opening an exchange also needs to consider the legal implications as it will serve as the protection for people who uses the platform especially if the source code you will be using is not originally created by you.

In fact, people with no programming background should not use an open source code of a bitcoin exchange because of the possibility that it might have a backdoor written on it which can cause a catastrophic failure of funds being lost.
This online source code is the first thing that we should avoid according to my IT professors because people with no technical background will be the biggest victims there might be malwares installed in those source codes if you do not know what you are doing, the best thing would be learning how to program or if not find a trusted programner to create an exchange, online source codes are the biggest cesspool for malicious people so be careful.
4144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: June 20, 2020, 04:35:00 AM
Who knows what the future holds, btc is gaining popularity and recognition everyday that passes, new stores are accepting btc slowly, if using btc to buy groceries is more cheaper than using fiat I think people will start using btc to buy eventually in the near future, for now, many people are still very comfortable using fiat to make payments whether it is online or offline.
With the number of people knowing a thing about bitcoin versus the population of the entire world that uses fiat, I think that it is still a long way before we can balance the scales, not many have the access to the technology and the cap of bitcoin is not enough for the billion population of the world since there will be individual imbalances on how much someone is holding. The future is not something that we should worry that much about because we will get there when we get there.
4145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy bitcoin with credit card on: June 20, 2020, 03:54:22 AM
Bitcoin with your credit card is just as simple as buying with a debit card or paying directly from your bank account, though it does come with a few extra restrictions. Another concern is that credit card companies will have more fraud losses as a result of customers using them for bitcoin purchases.
The fraud losses are there to insure that you can have a fight when things go south with your finances, I personally like the concept that we can use credit card to transact with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Credit card in my opinion is a good thing if used wisely because there are perks that you can get just by applying for it and it can help with your credit score, remember that it is the holder's fault that they are in debt with credit card. Do not be discourage when people say things about credit card, they might have a bad experience but that does not mean that it will be the same experience for you.
4146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make Money While You Sleep? Welcome To The World Of Crypto Trading Ai Bots on: June 20, 2020, 03:03:52 AM
Can someone further explain this trading bot to me, I am trying to learn as much as I can and think that this is a part of the journey, what are the pros and cons of bot trading, is there a recommended bot? Thank you for the response.
4147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 20-Year-Old Robinhood Customer Dies By Suicide After Seeing A $730,000 Negative on: June 20, 2020, 02:15:04 AM
Can Robinhood though has some liability here? It seems that the victim saw negative balance but the article it is just temporary but this could have triggered everything. If Robinhood display it real-time, this could have been avoided?
I do not think that the app is not liable, yes that is their interface problem but wouldn't the interpretation fall back to user? He could've contacted the app's tech support but he did not because of utter shock, I for one would be shock that I would incur that kind of debt because that is a lot of money, this is a tragedy that imparts us a lesson that there will be hardships that will test our mental fortitude and we need to be ready whenever that time comes.
4148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When the US stock market goes down Bitcoin goes down on: June 18, 2020, 07:35:23 AM
Today, the US stock future goes down near 900 points then the bitcoin prices goes down too.  It happened the same in March 2020 when the US stock market goes down then Bitcoin goes down $4500.  Any one knows the psychology or the mood of the trader?  Thanks.
It was a panicked selling mood. is understandable because this is when the epidemic began to spread so people will not need to hold financial assets anymore. they will sell for a lot of cash so they can buy food. That is why when there is instability in the economy out there, the financial market will fluctuate so strongly. We are also investors and Bitcoin is just a financial asset, it will not escape panic selling.
The reason that there is a panic selling mood is because bitcoin is closeky tied to USD, my currency is basing its bitcoin prices on the value of USD, I do not think that it is something that we should worry about because markets bounce back and there will always be people that will be investing, just be thankful that bitcoin does not collapse, we are focusing too much on the problems that do not involve bitcoin too much.
4149  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best trading platform? on: June 18, 2020, 06:43:05 AM
Most people agree that binance is the best trading platform until now. So we do have to look for alternative trading platforms besides binance,
there are several names that I think of. Like Okex, Kucoin, Upbit, Huobi and Bittrex. That's the best trading platform that I am remember for now.
Hope it can help people who are looking for alternative trading platforms besides binance.
Binance is a good exchange for me because it was recommended by most of my friends who are trading, and now that they added my country's currency, my affinity to the exchange got bigger, now I can directly exchange my profit to mycurrency without the hassle and cuts when exchanging it to dollar first, Kucoin for me is a good alternative too. With most exchanging collapsing, maybe you should stick with the more established one.
4150  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie should trade or not? Please give me idea. on: June 18, 2020, 05:40:46 AM
If you don't do anything, how could you learn something? You can start with fake investment or take demo money that is offered by some exchanges.
I do not think that demo account would be the word for that, maybe it is paper trading, with paper trading, there is no risk involve because you are trading virtually. If people are scared of full-on trading then they can do paper trading since they can experience the same thing as real time trading. Always remember that experience is the best teacher.
4151  Economy / Economics / Re: Very strange most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few on: June 18, 2020, 04:37:03 AM
There is no strange about buying bitcoins and using altcoin less because that is what I usually have done many times in my crypto world. There is no strange with that because bitcoin is one of the longest living currency and safest cryptocurrency compared to altcoins. There is no wrong on spending bitcoins, for purchasing some stuff or goods that we need or want. It's pretty normal because they strongly believe in bitcoin.

Do you know what strange is? Thinking that buying bitcoin and spending altcoin less, we are all different and we have different styles of spending and keeping our cryptocurrencies. We also have different beliefs which are aa really normal thing because we have all different perceptions of life.
Maybe the reason that people are using bitcoin for transaction is that most of the services and businesses are only accepting bitcoin, it does not matter though whether they use altcoin or bitcoin because we all have preference, plus the reputation of bitcoin is established for a long time than that of any alt coin.
4152  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving economy at the cost of what? on: June 17, 2020, 10:03:43 AM
You have a very good and reasonable advice. I know that everyone has a personal life and has a lot of work to solve, but if we are too personal, it will affect the community greatly. As he mentioned above, we should have a habit of wearing a mask, washing hands before touching the face and especially avoiding the road when there is no need. Those are the actions that we need to take if we want corona virus to be controlled early. sacrifice your time, you will save the economy of the world in the future. Hope everyone here is well aware of that.
We are not ready for this pandemic, the OP has a point when it comes to the welfare and survival of the citizens, but the problem is that we do not know how to cope our system with the revival of economy while simultaneously ensuring the well being of the masses, I agree that we should prioritize the lives of our people but how can we make sure that they will survive in the long run if the government do not open the economy, more lives will suffer in the long run if the continouos closure of economy due to the pandemic, the collapse of economy will ensue hunger if not threated early, remember when West Berlin was dying of starvation because they lost the war and they are held by USSR, it is a different circumstance but the pattern is the same, be it war or pandemic, economy will collapse if there is no circulation.
4153  Economy / Economics / Re: Current Food Shortage and Economic Decline Caused by Pandemic on: June 17, 2020, 07:11:25 AM
I think the current systems are not that very efficient and sustainable, but that is what most people keep running to even with the evidence that they are not so reliable.. There has to be systemic/structural changes. People should be able to fend for themselves with farming and creating of other basic things. But you can't easily do this in the current city structures. I honestly wouldn't build cities/towns without taking individual farming in account.

The reason that the system is not efficient and sustainable is because we the masses grew dependent on the state and we all address our problem by bickering that the state is the problem, we depend so much on the state that we will go down with them when the time comes, I do believe we can still resolve this dependency, with the rise of brilliant minds, I hope that we will have a better future. Urban farming is a thing now and I agree that we should have a sustainable food sources near our cities though this will be hard because of geological factors, environmental and personal.
4154  Economy / Economics / Re: Soul shout on: June 17, 2020, 05:09:42 AM
Not everyone can be finacially at age 30, we have different cultures and life is not a race. Credit cards are a good thing if you know how to use it, you can use it to farm credit score which will help you when you want to do a car or housing loan. Regarding cultures, each country also has a different cost of living and we have a unique priorities.  The best thing that you can do is become a better version of yourself and let the reputation be the model for others to follow.
4155  Economy / Economics / Re: India-China border tensions on: June 17, 2020, 04:34:43 AM
I think China now has a well developed standard for building up tensions between other countries like the others have said, it could be a negotiation tactic or something if India are showing similar tensions. I also don't think Indias army is anywhere close to the strength of China (but I might be wrong on this as I haven't studied the two). There may already be tensions due to china's cover-up of the virus and a lot of people seem to think they weren't badly affected by it which could be a stance a lot of governments take (even though a lot of sources have proven China took quite a hit to its economy and population).
I think the reason that there is a tension between these two nuclear nation is that China is paving a new Silk Road, it is called Belt Road Initiative and I think that India will be in the path so they have to negotiate terms with these nuclear nation without escalating a possible war, I do not say that it is the objective truth but I think that China's project to reach out the world through trade is very ambitious and promising at the same time. The economic stability of a country does not shake that much when there is a tension but I think it will show its cracks sooner or later.
4156  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the cause of economy rise and fall. on: June 17, 2020, 02:25:24 AM
Government and population, -but countries like China where the population count is large can still boast of a good economy- so it more bad government, unproductive citizens making High chunk of the population can be a cause of the economy rise and fall. Also unforseen calamities -war, health hazards- can cause a fall in economy.

Bad government, I agree to that. China was able to accommodate the large number of population with smaller unemployment percentage compared to another countries. More business establishments, more employment for the citizens, means more income for the local and national government.
Most common reason for the fall of economic state of a specific country is the corruption.
Another thing would be the war, calamity, and pandemic.
Bad government is the other side of the coin when it comes to the fate of a country's economy in my opinion, the other side would be the people of the said country, the population in China is not just an employment thing, the other thing about it is the consumer base is so large, companies are vying to get their hands in Chinese soil which in turn makes tax that helps in government funding and spending. We also should consider the GDP of a country because they serve as an indicator whether they are prospering or not. War in my opinion is just an off shoot of bad government.
4157  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made Sr. Member ~ On my way to Hero on: June 16, 2020, 09:54:55 AM
It's always nice to see another successful self-made Senior rank. I also did the same thing as you, I started from Newbie rank and finally can be a self-made Senior rank. Of course, it is not an easy work to reach 250+ merits, but nothing impossible if trying with serious and hard efforts. Yes, efforts without improving knowledge and your skills both in writing posts and constructing an idea/opinion, won't get optimum results. Also, don't forget that giving positive contributions and dedication to Forum will make people appreciate you. Good luck for your next target (Hero rank). Great job, mate!!  Smiley
Congratulations, I too aspire to become a Senior Member, I do not post topics that much so I do not get that much merit (according to some of my friends, the best way is through posting), I am still testing the waters so I do not have that much knowledge to impart to other forum member.
4158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some of the benefits of Bitcoin ... on: June 16, 2020, 05:51:19 AM
Compared with traditional currencies, Bitcoin transactions are more secure, transparent and anti-counterfeiting. Bitcoin uses an encryption algorithm that hackers cannot crack. And Bitcoin is easy to track, and all Bitcoin transactions are publicly archived on the network, which can effectively prevent illegal activities. Finally, Bitcoin's automatic authentication mechanism also makes it impossible to be forged.
The problem with bitcoins anonymity is that there are people that uses smurfs to transfer money that came from illegal activities, this small amounts deposited will go unnoticed if there isn't a watchful eye keeping tabs, the money laundering industry is the most damaging industry in bitcoin because it damages the reputation of bitcoin as an privacy protected currency.
4159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if block chain size gets bigger than available space? on: June 16, 2020, 04:56:29 AM
what is the minimum free space required? and what happens with the server if the block chain size gets bigger than the free space we have in the server?

what "sever"? there is no server in a decentralized network. there are only peers which are individual computers. each computer can have a different storage types (HDD, SSD, M2,...) and different total and free space available to it. and so far the PCs have been way ahead in their storage than bitcoin blockchain size.
With the constant innovation in computing speed, free space would not be a problem because there will be a continous increase of users and comes with that is the increased spaces, not to mention that quantum computing is becoming a thing and it will be a revolutionary technology because it will increase the computing speed by hudredfolds if this will become available in public.
4160  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Whoever did this will go to hell - Bitcoin scam on: June 16, 2020, 04:08:39 AM
It was hell a complete scam. Jeff Bezos according to the Forbes list of the billionaire is one of the top richest people in the world and he'll not going to give time to stream and invite people as he already has a lot of things to do. If we cannot find the video supporting this in a way that Jeff Bezos is actually the one talking, there's no way we can prove it to the masses.

Thanks, OP for this eye-opener especially if someone sees the video, he/she might believe it. But there's nothing for us to really worry about, bitcoin has their protocol and if ever there really is a video about it, youtube will delete it.
It is obviously a sham, why would a billionaire give away his riches, this is a good thing that there are people who are constantly hunting this scammer, in my opinion the banning part can be a tactic by the scammer because it works perfectly, maybe the person in the video is not Jeff but a deep fake, OP and other people should spread this kind of scam, not just in the crypto community because this scams will be targeting people indiscriminately.
