Didn't you just contradict yourself?  You agree you should not consider who the author is, then you consider legendaries less worthy of merit.  :/
The Pharmacist doesn't contradict himself.

If I understand correctly, he is trying to abstract from his social circle, and from his trust list, (impartially evaluating quality posts). And nobody says that the Legendary members' posts are less worthy ... and I probably agree that you (Vod), The Pharmacist, LoyceV etc. are always in the spotlight anyway.

So encouraging the same members does nothing to expand community. Considering all this, (if I was also a merit source) I would also give preference to beginners.

I would use a mod that toggled display of the poster information, although I could figure it out based on quotes.
Vod, this is certainly a good idea, but we are all human, and we want to see and know with whom we communicate and whose messages we read.
4162  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Nights Discussion Thread (private games for btctalk members) on: October 25, 2020, 08:57:10 PM
Oh damn, that's kinda shitty.
I'm assuming SWC has lost interest in sponsoring it? Makes sense I guess as we haven't really brought much additional traffic to the site.. apart from the roll I've left on the felt these past few months.
It is a pity that there is no information, (as I recently discovered this thread and wanted to know when the 5th series starts). I will look forward to updates, and I would like to add that as an alternative we can look at the WINK platform (as an option).

Sad to realize that Khabib has ended career. 29-0 is a great record, but he and his father dreamt about 30-0.
What about a $ 100 million fight? Conor's revenge is inevitable, (and after the incident in Moscow, Conor helped Khabib with motivation)  Roll Eyes

The UFC is aiming for a rematch of Conor and Khabib, such a conclusion can be easily drawn from Dana White's speech. Conor really wants to fight with Khabib, it is very important for him, he is literally obsessed with him. Earlier, Khabib stated that Conor needs to win 10 victories, and that money does not matter, (although his father spoke of $ 100 million).

It would be an interesting drama considering that after Conor's last win, Floyd Mayweather joined the dialogue... He asked 23 million Instagram followers which fight they wanted more (Floyd posted two posters of his potential fights against Conor and against Khabib). Therefore, I think this is not the end of the story with Khabib ..
4165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 24, 2020, 06:51:49 PM
I think Khabib will come stronger than ever and will dedicate this win to his father so we might see an early K.O. . Another thing would be that Khabib knows how to deals with guys like Gaethje and his boxing movements so I don't see any chance for him to win against Khabib. Anyway we are ~2 hours until the main event begins and so far I saw great fights.
My brain tells me that Khabib will win, but my heart hopes that Justin.

I didn't want this project to become a VIP club.
I decided not to publish other people's interviews anymore. I cannot prevent people from posting their interviews here.
This is not at all what I, LoyceV and eddie13 were talking about .... Nobody wants it to be a VIP club, but we want the published interviews to be more valuable.

And the fact that you say that you “have no opportunity to prohibit publications” looks like a shift responsibility to others, (given that your OP is clearly hinting at sending you applications to PM).  And honestly, one simple change will be enough to make future interviews more valuable, (if the questions were more personalized... at least a few).

The "ignore" button will solve the problem.
If I were eddie13, I would take it as sarcasm ... and an offer to ignore the whole thread  Cry

And as I said twice, it seemed to me that you deliberately neglected these proposals ... You can organize lists in three or four columns and add trust ratings.
You can request images of the trust rating in this thread: LoyceV's Trust score images - request them here (and use in a post/table/BBCode)

4168  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Post] Your Trust List on: October 22, 2020, 10:38:09 PM
I did, not that long ago in one of the LoyceV threads - I'll see if I can dig up the post.
Not that I insisted, but I'm still interested, (nothing personal) ... considering that I've seen people on your list who (in my subjective) opinion are detrimental to the community.
4169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 22, 2020, 09:30:53 PM
~/~

Yes, the level of government training differs not only in every school and state, but in every country. I'm not very much into the details, but I can say for sure that Justin did not get the push and years of experience that Khabib received.

There is no doubt that Justin is a pretty dangerous opponent. But a lot of people don't really understand the kind of pressure Khabib is under, which is why he takes his training very seriously. I'm talking about psychological pressure from my father or even the president (when he is hinted that he is the face of the nation).

I am very sorry for Justin and he will never be the same after this fight. Imagine how he will feel after round 1, when he realizes that he is years behind the other guy in the cage ... However, I will still root for Gaethje. Since after UFC229 I stopped liking Khabib (namely the incident with his friends). First they attacked Connor after sparring, and then they pounced on the bus (throwing bottles on the bus shouting "We'll fuck your mom").
4170  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: October 22, 2020, 06:14:47 PM
Would you mind expressing your opinion?

It's just that if the publications continues at the same pace, this thread will lose the meaning for which it was really created.
And (in my subjective opinion) it will not differ much from Spam Megathreads.

best regards
icopress

zasad@, thank you for the invitation, I will answer your questions soon.
I see that the thread is very actively updated with new interviews, so I want to suggest on the main page to reduce visual stress.
What do you think about organizing lists in three or four columns?

zasad@, thank you for the invitation and sorry for breaking the order of answers (it is more convenient for me to start answering with simple questions).

I would like to add... that the lack of direct conversation is not quite what I imagined, and I think it would be better if the questions were more personalized (at least a few). This is a kind of cult event, and I would like to see more stories from those individuals who are in fact the core of the forum. Exclude the rule, (I would call it a pause) "If you yourself want to give an interview, write to me in PM". But after reading 11 pages of this thread, I was a little moved by the fact that I learned a lot of new from those interviews of those people whom I thought I knew well.
4171  Other / Meta / Re: Voting for important forum changes on: October 22, 2020, 04:30:04 PM
All in all a good idea, but let's face it ... (even without taking into account the skeptical comments about it).

For everything to work, first you need to make changes to the voting system. Currently, during public voting, users can only make one choice, known as "bullet voting", which is not very convenient for some counting scenarios.

  • To enable users to give preference to any number of items or candidates during voting.
  • Identification of users participating in the survey (see here for how it looks).

And even if it was not an abstract discussion, there is one more catch. As far as I know, Cyrus and his team are focused on fixing some bugs, so I think it's pointless to talk about adding new features for now.

When the time comes, I think there will be a public discussion with the developers of the new features. Although most likely the new interface and voting options will be added only in Epochtalk, (do not forget that any improvement to the forum requires parallel changes in Epochtalk).
4172  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: October 22, 2020, 02:41:02 PM
Ave! Thanks to this post, now I know where I can store my suggestions for the forum Roll Eyes
If you see fit... you could add some of the suggestions for improvement below to the general list.

4173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 22, 2020, 01:13:21 PM
That is a good advice, a well timed headbutt to Khabib's chin while crashing in  Cheesy. There are other options too when Khabib closes in for a single leg or double leg just run around the cage and even Justin's game plan is to stay away from the cage at all times Cheesy.
Man, Khabib's strategy really revolves around the cage  Cry

If you've seen UFC 229, you'll understand that in the center, Khabib failed in trying to break Connor. Therefore, it makes no sense to talk about Justin considering that he is a wrestler D1 ... Although if he succeeds in avoiding the pressure in the center, Khabib may still have a couple of other ways to surprise.
4174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 22, 2020, 10:56:46 AM
I suspect that Khabib is psychologically not in the best condition right now (although he will be quite ferocious). I'm not his biggest fan, but I hope I'm wrong because, to be honest, Justin is the worst opponent for any version of Khabib.

I can't be sure that he will lose to Justin, but if this happens it will be not only due to lack of skills but due to the depression in which he is. The most effective route for Justin is a powerful, well-timed headbutt to Khabib's chin.
4175  Economy / Reputation / Re: Goodbye, world! on: October 22, 2020, 10:00:47 AM
At the forum, holivars happen all the time, over the past three years I have seen a lot of similar discussions. And every time I find it funny how some members use non-appealable statements: always, never, everything, nobody, you don't understand anything and you are funny. Haters and fans foaming at the mouth defend their positions, between which I actually don't see any difference.

But this protracted and mostly meaningless dispute over the identity and reasons for Lauda's departure must eventually end. I understand that this thread is like a fire that attracts all the "pocket" trolls, and who probably do not understand that this was a competent PR. But by his departure, Lauda made it clear to us that there is no need to add oil and throw up wood (unless you decide to say goodbye).

Remember, if you meet angry people on the Internet, most of the time they have no way to annoy you in real life. Don't take comments personally and build willpower, (I'm talking about Haters and fans).

p.s. If you really want to know why Lauda left, write to minerjones in PM, and he will gladly tell you this secret, leaving the tag "Unsolicited PM spam".
4176  Economy / Reputation / Re: Goodbye, world! on: October 20, 2020, 06:52:18 PM
I'm really wondering ... is it true that Lauda set the status to "Terminated" after reading the nullius's message?

Wait.  Lauda has a husband!?

* nullius is dumbstruck.

Well, I am glad that she did not use the term “partner” or “significant other”; that—

—Wait.  Lauda’s husband is the Terminator!!?!? Shocked

An indisputably serious confession of witchcraft connubial status, accompanied by videographic PROOF that Lauda is married to the Terminator:
Obviously I'm compelled to first thank my husband for his unwavering support and love; secondly, I'd like to thank my cult which has served their Queen very well over its short existence.

4177  Economy / Reputation / Re: Goodbye, world! on: October 19, 2020, 06:04:12 PM
It is real.  Don’t get your hopes up.  :-(
I was about to ask you to poison a couple of merit for the OP on my behalf since I'm empty...

But I see that you have already appreciated the OP's post to the maximum  Shocked

I can't believe I'm seeing this now ... and I'm starting to feel a huge loss over this news. Additionally, if this upsetting news is real, Lauda should be given the Custom Title: Departed Hero/Cat 2020

Lauda was one of the first people I contacted on the forum and was very kind and patient with me when I ran into some problems. And I want to rephrase one thought from another person that I totally agree with... that Lauda was the core of the community that he (she) defended so fiercely and didn't care if his account would be (mutually) colored red because he knew he was saving someone from the risk of being cheated.

I will miss this cat very much ... but I will still hope that his account was really hacked and the real owner will return soon  Cry
