4161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we not abusing decentralization? on: April 26, 2019, 04:32:36 PM
Decentralization is one of the greatest dreams of Satoshi looking at the how the blockchain technology and its immutable distributed ledger has been designed. Well it saddens my heart that the greed of men has led to the abusing of this freedom and liberty that Satoshi wanted us to have in the financial industry. Look at the way people are being scammed and robbed in broad day light just because crypto is embedded in anonymity and decentralization. I think we've all had it to the peak, how about we have some level of regulation with the activities in the crypto industry. Share your thoughts commrades.

Regulation is not the solution to this problem.
Greedy people are and we need to eliminate them. Those greedy people will always be a problem and they will feed the scammers and those abusers of this decentralized ecosystem.
This liberal system is not at risk, but people who trust anyone who offers easy money makes the system at risk.
4162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Fomo , 3800$ incoming ? on: April 26, 2019, 04:27:07 PM
In my opinion, I think that we will stop dropping at around 5k.
I don't rely my thought based on charts and historical data, but when we were on 5k we started moving upwards with no any exact reason. I still haven't understand why we started soaring, so I believe that now we are to reach the level were we started.
4163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest Crime in cryptocurrency on: April 26, 2019, 04:20:41 PM
The biggest crime in Crypto currencies are the fact that private centralized institutions hijacked the whole experiment and then caused all these problems. Satoshi did not want people to do P2P transactions via 3rd part centralized services, he wanted people to trade 1 on 1.

These centralized services used exploitable code and hackers and thieves quickly realized this and they targeted these vulnerabilities. So Bitcoin was not responsible for these hacks, but rather 3rd party <centralized> services with weak software.  Angry

I can see your point but there is not any trust between two people that exchange value in 1 on 1.
We still need a protocol to be created and protect both of the actors in a transaction like this one. Otherwise, we will still be in this vicious cycle and will be in need for a 3rd party that would act as an escrow.
4164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as a sustainable currency. on: April 26, 2019, 04:17:00 PM
Bitcoin is most of a digital asset for me in order to store the value of money.
It is true that if Bitcoin will be a sustainable currency and be exchanged for daily transactions then this is going to bring a promising future for the ecosystem. However, I don't think that we are ready for that as we don't have the necessary infrastructure established.
4165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stupid Bitcoin Traders on: April 26, 2019, 04:12:04 PM
Classic story. But you can consider that the most of us got involved in the cryptocurrency community in a similar way.

I had a conversation with a friend when bitcoin was around 400 and we were discussing to buy together some.
Guess what... We didn't buy... But we got involved in the industry when bitcoin was around 2k (still a lot more than 400).

The only difference with the initial story is that we still haven't cashed out and we expect a bigger raise in the price.
4166  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2019-04-23 DailyCaller - John McAfee's ... Plans to reveal Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 26, 2019, 03:59:57 PM
Is this part of his plan? or he is misleading people as we're going near to the promised prediction he gave of eating his own tool if ever bitcoin won't reach $1M by 2020?

This guy makes everything possible to get the attention of the community.
I think that he is on the same side with Craig Wright and we should not allow these guys manipulate us with their stupid tweets.
They can manipulate mostly newbies but us who are aware of his acts, it's your choice to be manipulated or not.

Yes I agree that they can manipulate newbies but still there are many greedy people in the community who don't read a lot about cryptocurrencies and they just believe what the famous people do. Maybe these greedy and "uneducated" people are another category that can be manipulated by McAfee.
4167  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: April 26, 2019, 03:53:55 PM
https://medium.com/elixxir/why-mark-zuckerberg-wants-no-privacy-why-he-wrote-his-letter-and-why-it-wont-help-him-c020e434ce36

According to a recent open letter on privacy, Mark Zuckerberg wants us to believehe can combine WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram platforms with “end-to-end” encryption to create the ultimate privacy-protecting platform.

thoughts? what does this mean for society?

After the recent breaches in Facebook and the data that hackers have stolen, I don't believe that Zuckerberg is capable of protecting our privacy.
And I also think that he indeed doesn't want the full privacy because if that happens then he will probably lose data from the users and he wouldn't be able to "feed" his AI algorithms with userdata.
4168  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: April 26, 2019, 03:44:27 PM
So I see 2 threads of why islam hates people or why people hate Islam. I dont see the point of such a mundane debate based on religion any debate for or against religion would be stupid. Either you are stupid to believe what a prophet / god / divine entity said or you are stupid enough to believe you can change the minds of the bleak minded people who follow such a prophet / god / divine entity.

But since its fun let me initiate my own brand of 'why do' topic.

WHY DO ATHEISTS (like me) HATE RELIGION ?

Seriously what has to happen in a person's life for them to seriously give up hope on the one true everlasting brand (of religion) which their ancestors have followed for generations.

Everyone has their own story even I have mine, so lets hear some of it.

The whole world is created in order to divide and separate people in groups.
Religion is one of this condition. Some others are politics, football teams, other people consider language another feature that separates people.
All people are equal and I don't think that people hates islam or islam hates people. We just try to make ouselves think that we are superior over another group.
4169  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-13] What Russia’s ‘Digital Iron Curtain’ Means for Bitcoin Users on: April 26, 2019, 03:40:57 PM
This measure just promotes censorship.
Russians don't get any benefit from this "Digital Iron Curtain" and they are not protected at all.
The Russian Duma seems that they want to digitally isolate their civilians and don't let them have an open and free access to the digital world.
4170  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CZ Show. How the market reacts to Binance’s boss tweets on: April 26, 2019, 03:36:17 PM
BNB showed that even in a bearish market, if your product is valuable and has a real use in the blockchain ecosystem, the price is going to increase.
Binance coin hit its all time high lately. CZ has a tremendous influence to the cryptocurrency community and as BNB grows, this influence is going to grow more.
4171  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-25] Bitcoin Economic Activity Now 30% Higher Than At $20k Price on: April 26, 2019, 03:32:34 PM
I personally don't feel it, I regularly check Bitcoin freelance websites looking for work, and their activity dropped compared to 2016-2017. Also a lot of services dropped Bitcoin when network fees skyrocketed as the result of the last bubble - Steam and fiverr are among the biggest names. I would be very glad if Bitcoin had more economic activity, cause it would mean that I could spend and earn money using it instead of fiat, but sadly I don't feel like it's happening.

That's true. The demand for jobs that pay in bitcoin has been dropped significantly both from employees and employers side.
Maybe the bitcoin economic activity comes from the trading side and possibly trades push it to soar.
4172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 26, 2019, 03:24:40 PM

Really hoping that City slip up somewhere, Liverpool have played their hearts out this season and deserve to cap it off with a title.

In December Liverpool was about 10 points ahead of Manchester City.
City made the comeback and they are now first so I think that City deserves this title more than Liverpool this season. They made a huge comeback and now they have gained the 1st position which was seem unable to happen in December.
4173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 26, 2019, 03:15:46 PM
Looks like the talks of Malcom joining AC Milan is all over now when his agent officially denied it. AC Milan doesn't need a right winger or a forward anymore since they have both Suso and Piatek doing good on those positions. They will just be wasting their money by doing that. What they deeply need it replacing Hakan Calhanoglue in ghe left wing because he hasn't been impressive in the field.

Indeed Suso is very good for AC Milan, but Malcom is way better than him. I hope that Milan will make that signing and manage to compete for the Seria A title next year.
Platek is a Central Midfielder so I don't consider him for the same position.
4174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PokerStars fined $10,000 on: April 25, 2019, 05:25:48 PM
It is seriously funny how they are trying to make it look like its a punishment while they fully know that its nothing. Pokerstar probably makes that much money in just couple of minutes so punishing them for it isn't really repelling at all. They will continue doing so forever until they literally take all the money illegally and why would they after all they make more than that to begin with. I feel like if we can continue to increase these punishments like it went from 2 thousand to 10 thousand with the same mindset to 50 than 250 then more we can actually make it somehow dangerous for these websites to let people bet illegal.

I am not against illegal stuff when it comes to sportsbetting since we play that here all the time but when a big corporation doesn't follow the law and than gets punished only $10k it is just not even funny anymore.

This situation will happen again and again. Not only for PokerStars but for small time poker companies. Money is the trigger why they go against the law. And if the law caught them, then it's a bad day for them but if not, betting goes on.  Grin Paying that amount is easy peasy as they can always get that money fast.

PokerStars is an organization which makes a lot more than 10k.
This fine is nothing for them and they won't be affected at all. Fining PokerStars is just an action to throw ash in our eyes.
4175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 25, 2019, 05:17:20 PM
Odegaard is an idiot, why the hell would you join Real as such a young player. When you’re young you need games. He was never going to get into the Real first XI. He’s probably ruined his career or at least majorly stagnated by not playing & developing.

I totally agree with you buddy. He didn't make a wise choice to join Real Madrid.
However, it is all about money and Real offered him the most.
Maybe he thought that he will get his chances in an early stage and possible thought about youngster infrastructure etc. His career hasn't ended yet. He has all the time to prove us wrong.
4176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 25, 2019, 11:53:06 AM
It hurts but I’m beginning to accept Man City aren’t going to slip up now. They’ve won every PL game since January, what can you do to compete with that.

I’ll take consolation that their dirty oil money still can’t buy them a CL trophy.

They have Burnley, Leicester & Brighton left to play, I think it’s over Sad

The feeling that you’re currently going through is the same feeling that Manchester United and Liverpool fans are feeling. As a Manchester United fan it always hurts to see Manchester City win the title, and last night Manchester United did nothing to stop them from winning it. I feel Leicester City is the only team that can spring a surprise on Manchester City, other wise there’s nothing stopping them from winning the title.

I think that  Leicester is the only of the remaining 3 teams that cut make a surprise against Man City, but City has them at home, so the chances for that to happens are very small.

Leicester is not the strong team that used to be when they managed to win the Premier League title.
The championship is more or less over now. Only is Manchester City will be unfortunate and lose points with their mistake, Liverpool will be again back in the game.
4177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung S10 Embedded with Cryptocurrency wallet on: April 25, 2019, 10:39:08 AM
Well, what do you think is the positive impact on the crypto industry, and at the same time what is the negative impact of it. It seems to me that cryptocurrency will be known because it will be use to a product by a big company and it will be on their upcoming latest phone, it will create awareness at the same time it can set aside those negative about crypto. What do you think?

Here is the link: https://www.theblockcrypto.com/2019/01/24/samsung-galaxy-s10-images-show-embedded-cryptocurrency-wallet/

Even if it is not true and it is just a rumor, it gives a positive impression to the people that are outside the cryptocurrency community that Bitcoin and other crypto assets are here to stay. Nothing is a bubble, and huge corporations try to take advantage over their competitors by integrating crypto wallets and other apps that are related to the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
4178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Democracy Yes OR No ??? on: April 25, 2019, 09:25:05 AM
Here are some merits of democracy :
1)It is more accountable
2)The elected leaders need to perform better for their stability
3)Gives the people right to choose among the best
4)It enhances the dignity of a citizen

Demerits of democracy :
1)Leaders keep on changing leads to instability
2)It is all about political competition and power play
3)Elected leaders do not know the best interests of people
4)Democracy leads to corruption.

So which country would you prefer a democratic or non-democratic ?

I don't think that this is a dilemma. Of course, democracy is the best even with its flaws.
It is the less disastrous policy and citizens are able to tell their opinion and vote. This gives rights to everyone and equality is above all. Also, Corruption exists both in democratic and non-democratic policies.
4179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bearish road over? on: April 25, 2019, 09:07:47 AM
Things seem to have stabilized for the time being but of course, a new drop is not out of the question. On the other hand, maybe the bad days are over and a new spring is about to begin.

What do you think?

During the last month the market seems to be stabilized above 5k (in terms of bitcoin price).
it is a positive sign that investors trust the market and the price finds resistance to fall below 5k but we still have a long way to go in order to say that the bearish market is over.
4180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $10k Before June, Possible? on: April 25, 2019, 09:02:33 AM
I don't think that it is possible to reach 10k before June.
We don't have any news about possible positive trends or an event about bitcoin that will boost the functionality of the chain until then.
Relying on trading trends only it will be a huge pump if this happen and I don't really see investors pushing the price almost 100% up inn such a short period of time.
