Finally cooled down slightly ;_; still pretty unbearable though, anything higher than 16 - 17 degrees or so and I'm dying Tongue but you put me in a frozen tundra and I'm totally happy, I barely slept last night >_<

I can't believe there is a pizza thread and no Chicagoan has weighed in.  This is how we do it in Chicago.

That pizza looks like jesus

4183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throw central bankers into a room with hardcore Bitcoiners and what do you get? on: July 13, 2014, 12:36:13 AM
I'm surprised there wasn't a fist fight frankly, that's worrying, I seriously think that if the financial companies get involved they'll try and force some kind of change on the Bitcoin code itself and the way it operates, good thing it was released open source.
4184  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you own a firearm? on: July 12, 2014, 11:13:59 PM
No firearms here.

Unless you consider match + gasoline/alcohol as some kind of firearm .

I don't understand the American obsession with guns anyway, tanks and explosives are far more effective Wink
4185  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you own a firearm? on: July 12, 2014, 10:43:56 PM
I don't own a gun, I'm in the UK where they're obsessed with gun control, the best example I've ever seen though of someone owning a gun was just on a random internet conversation where a guy was explaining he had the guns in separate safes where only he had the key to them and he kept the ammo separate as well which is the best thing you could do if you ever owned it I think, I'd say that's actually more careful than what the military do really.
4186  Other / Off-topic / Re: I need a new game on: July 12, 2014, 02:01:05 PM
Any new fun MMORPG that is free?

No, they're all item shops designed to trick you into thinking it's free, basically think of 'free' as hard mode and when you pay money into their game that's easy mode, these games are also more poorly balanced than even standard subscription MMORPGs.
4187  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's help my friend on: July 12, 2014, 01:59:34 PM
Speaking from experience, there's no other way other than to just be direct and ask, if they reject you then it sucks and you should just go and watch a crappy film while eating an entire tub of ice cream, but at least you got it over with instead of asking "What if?" the rest of your life.

Dragon Commander is one I found interesting.
4190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Takes 14 Million Android Phones to Earn One Bitcoin on: July 12, 2014, 12:10:00 PM
The ironic thing is that with that exact phone they could just as easily take a few jobs on the internet for Bitcoins or just buy it on an exchange for much less effort. I don't understand why these people act so surprised when they can't make millions from a standard PC or Laptop, I don't even know that much about computers but I know how difficulty works and when you take that into account it's not at all surprising that mining off these things is pointless.

Think about it, why do you think a load of miners are now just transferring over to scrypt and giving up on the SHA-256 coins, it's because the difficulty is too high and they know already from the maths that it won't be worth it.
4191  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you earn money online? on: July 12, 2014, 11:52:02 AM
With Paid Surveys  Which I think is the easiest and legit way to earn Free Money From Home.
how much did you get from paid surveys?
and are you willing to share with us where's the best paid surveys for now?
thanks Grin

Surveys don't make you money, they're just a trick to get you to sign up with an email so you get spammed with either virus' or advertisements, faucets are at least fairly honest because they don't get you to sign up to anything but it's still the same idea. Honestly, I think the best way is to simply offer services, pick up a skillset where you actually MAKE stuff and sell it online, thanks to crpyotcurrencies it's incredibly easy now, plus you'll get the satisfaction of actually being a part of the economy and exporting stuff instead of being a leech on society.

I don't even collect any welfare and I still hate the fact that I'm essentially having to borrow money from my parents >_< lol Tongue they don't mind because they saved carefully for it but I still want to be off it as soon as possible.

4193  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Armed militia sets up Texas command center to ‘fight for national sovereignty’ on: July 12, 2014, 11:14:50 AM
Yeah, like others I have my concerns, is this 'really' a militia? Or is it just another moronic racist group that is trying to make itself seem like it's fighting against an oppressive government? Frankly I wouldn't lose any sleep if these kind of people got put down by the government, I'm done being diplomatic with people like that. My reasons are because I was exceptionally pissed off when news reports about people like the right sector in the Ukraine tried to claim neo-nazi's were Anarchists.

Just seems to be another bunch of morons who aren't comfortable with the idea of a non-white being in government and are begging for attention over it, this kind of shit is actually one of the rare moments where I will side with the communists and the Russians. There's a problem in the U.S and elsewhere where news outlets like to paint the so called right wingers as racists when really it's just one very loud group getting the attention they've always wanted over something stupid.

Looks like really big news actually, this is the first we've seen of a bank never mind one currently in the middle of a civil war accepting and openly trading Bitcoin.
4196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Debt free and $ in the bank on: July 11, 2014, 02:51:58 PM
Why didn't you just sell the house and purchase a cheaper property you can actually afford?

My rent is $440 a month, PLEASE PLEASE do show me a mortage where my interest rates are less than that.. any house near me is +200k....
The house when I bought it was 179...  Me and a freind bought it with the plan to fix it up and sell it in 5 years, we stuck to the plan added a 2nd bath.  Sold for 245.

Now I rent at $440 a month.. even with a mortage of $800 + $220 a month property tax that's $1020.   That $220 is a total waste.  So $220 vs 800....  now if I save $680 every month instead of paying it into a house over 20 years that's $163,200.00

Now to actually take out a loan of $163,200.00 would cost me $1,103.00 a month for 20 years.

It would literally cost me double to own a house.

This also does not include realstate fees, lawyer fees, land transfer tax...

I wasn't talking about a mortgage, I was talking about a cash buy, but if your situation was really that bad renting clearly was the better option, save up next time and buy a wreck, that way you can repair it for cheap and still actually own it.

He was right to do this though, there is absolutely no way you want to have debt of any kind or be tied down by a mortgage in this economy, this is why I've stayed with my parents for so long.

4198  Economy / Economics / Gold slowly and steadily crawling towards 2008 - 2009 levels? on: July 11, 2014, 12:24:39 PM
So I've been keeping an eye on the gold price for a long while and it's slowly but surely crawling up towards the same kind of $2000 price we saw back when the crash happened in 2008 - 2009. Has anyone else been noticing this? I've also seen all the stocks and bonds rising with it which makes me believe that the central banks are at it again trying to pump things up but this time they seem to be running out of time because gold just isn't going along with this anymore like it usually does.

I think we may see another massive crash as I've been saying either this year or next year depending on whether the gold price can go past $2000 again.
4199  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Psychology of Capitalism on: July 11, 2014, 10:58:48 AM
When you depend on money, you have limitations.
Are public schools completely bereft of economics education today?

yes, they are

I don't  understand why we spend billions on paying the teachers for doing nothing

they are a huge burdain to tax payers

wouldn't it be simpler to print out extremy detailed books and the kids would only come to school for exams
where the country would pay controllers short-term for the exams..

you say they couldn't learn?

the society would develop the way there would be many video tutorials and explanations online
there is really no need to waste the hard earned money of the people..

I get increasingly pissed off when I hear about teachers in my country ( UK ) going on strike over pensions, particularly because of my own experience through education I think some teachers deserve to have their pay docked with the kind of bullshit they pull, the least governments can do is reward teachers who actually teach instead of people who are just their to collect their cheques every month and retire.

Granted, education in particular tends to get me angry because of my personal experiences, but that's life really, we tend to react more to things that we can relate to.

Been saying this for awhile now, we NEED to develop space flight as a species, it's necessary for our survival.

What we need is politicians who will prioritize space programs over nonsense wars. Space programs need big budgets.

It's true, if we put the budget we'd have in the military for space flight instead we'd be incredibly advanced >_< but all we have are a few space probes and satellites that look like they're made out of tinfoil.
