we need your confirmation prior to release of your order into the final build queue and on to final delivery.

Very dodgy wording, seemingly designed to imply that a faster "confirmation" will result in a more advanced position in the queue, without actually saying so.

Yeah man, that's it... BUY! BUY! BUY!, that's what we are getting all the time from BFL

I don't believe the mid-term bear is over, before we visit $95 in the following max 48 hours. Buy as much <100 as you can.

(If we don't do it in that timeframe, I would go shopping again)

didn't you just say we weren't going to see $115 ever again?

$115 never again, takers?

Ask sum skyrocketing

Dont worry ...

It is good to remember that there are no fake bid walls, but fake ask walls abound... Roll Eyes

Isn't this the place to use all of your verbal wit to talk the price up?

You are talking it down, man

And nobody will send you 100BTC without a trusted escrow
4187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 01, 2013, 03:32:42 PM
I'm not taking rpietila's offer because I think I'm comfortable as is, without needing to leverage. I have about 80 dollars on MtGox per every BTC I have (including everything I have in cold storage). If the price goes up, my Bitcoins rise in value. If the price goes down, I have an opportunity to purchase more bitcoins at a reduced price.

That's more or less my situation.
4188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 01, 2013, 10:44:14 AM
- I could not care less if it crashed to $10;
I do. Because if it ever got to that price again then it would be due to a major disaster with the Bitcoin protocol.

If the Bitcoin protocol goes beyond repair, we will develop a new coin, and the party will continue. I go to have a bath in the spa and then some dinner, see you in 2 hours! Wink

Whatever man, maybe at that spa you will develop a new coin that will fullfil your delusion of grandeur  Cool

A scammer tag for not selling it item in auction, instead selling it to highest payer ? LOL

1. Don't dilute the tag. There are bigger criminals around here who have more legitimate right to that tag.
2. Welcome to real world. Things get sold for highest price, and buyer chooses what to buy - that's about it. Don't like it ? Better luck next time. Really really want it ? Trump the offer. I see that tempt already said he will honor over 96 btc, right ? Go for it.

No one is going to take a loss for "honoring the code" in an internet forum where greed and lie galore.

And why are you sure that there is such an offer via pm and its no shill bidding? Or that the seller doesnt think the price is too low to sell it for this price now?
Anyway... the playingfield was set beforehand. This forum is made to not be able to scam by not being allowed to edit posts with bids. Bidding via pm is undergoing this. And its unfair to other bidders that doesnt even know that there was such offer or if there is such offer in reality.
Im not sure about the scammer tag because no one said before that handling it this way will be a scam. But there should be a rule that this isnt allowed and bids via pm are worthless.

Yeah, but what happens when an auctioneer does not honor the winner, like in this case? And what a bidder refuses to pay? Maybe a scammer tag is not appropriate, but a blacklist to the auction subforum should be enforced IMO

Arepo is stating facts. Don't really know why some of you are so shure on the sort term bull, when everything logically leads to the opposite.

ASX was out of stock yesterday and now shows 219 in stock.  Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'd assume this is because some people asked for refunds.  Anyone on the forum want to share their refund experience?

the benefit of the doubt? What kind of joke is this?

This is an obvious scam.

4195  Economy / Gambling / Re: Have you made money by gambling on satoshi dice? on: May 01, 2013, 12:33:26 AM
Yeah, "if you're lucky enough" - that's why they call it gambling. If you play long enough, you will lose for sure. If you play only a few times, "and you are lucky enough", you may win a little. But then, is it worth it just to win a little?

I'm up about 42 BTC, and have 'retired'.  It was a martingale bet that got out of hand and nearly cost me a lot more than that.  I was stupid to play it, and lucky not to lose.

I'm not saying it's a good idea to gamble on negative expectation games.  But I am saying it's possible to win, since I have done.

Dooglus is a math whiz. He farts winning wagers when waking up on weekends. While weenies wish they would win but whine why? Why? Why did my wager wind up wasting my wad.

A brilliant commentary.  Defying expectations, fcmatt gets his ill-informed jabberings kompletely - ah f**k it.  Too hard.  Smiley

Yes, of course it's possible to win. That's obvious, and that's exactly the reason why "not so smart" people get sucked in and lose what they cannot afford to.

Their whole communication approach is not helping at all. I really hope some real competition flourish in this market, we need that.
4198  Economy / Gambling / Re: Have you made money by gambling on satoshi dice? on: May 01, 2013, 12:12:16 AM
I think you are smart enough to know that it is impossible to win in negative EV games!

Not true.  I'm up at SatoshiDice.  All you need is a little luck, and to quit while you're ahead.

It's impossible to stay up if you keep playing forever; eventually the negative expectation will drag you down but in the short term the 1.9% house edge is beatable if you're lucky enough.

Yeah, "if you're lucky enough" - that's why they call it gambling. If you play long enough, you will lose for sure. If you play only a few times, "and you are lucky enough", you may win a little. But then, is it worth it just to win a little?
4199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just another Bitcoin story.. on: April 30, 2013, 11:59:17 PM
If you ask me, Silk Road is the number one reason for BTC.

I find this assumption bizarre and difficult to imagine, but then I've never even visited it.

I wonder if other people whose life revolves around bitcoin, but who have never visited SR, feel the same way.

I understand what dbru77 says, even if I just visited Silk Road out of curiosity, I never used it.

He actually has a good point: a lot of people finds about BTC because it enables them to solve a practical problem, which is to buy drugs. This is why having a strong real economy in BTC, apart from pure speculation, is important for true adoption. BTC also solved a practical problem for Wikileaks, and it solves a practical problem for Wordpress users coming from quite a few developing countries. BTC true value is in solving day-to-day situations, and nowadays is still very focused on pure speculation.

"big thing with which you can pay at ebay or amazon"

if that happened it wouldnt cause btc price to go to 266, you would need to tack on ATLEAST one extra zero. A billion dollars in capitalization sounds like a lot but it really isnt, bill gates alone could give us another 99 billion worth of capitalization bringing the price up to 10,000 per btc. Just stop and slowly digest the implications of that, 1 single investor entering the market could bring the price from 100 dollars to 10,000 dollars.

hopefully this message will help to strengthen your hands.

Well, I tried to play the freedom card... And there goes the greed.

I guess one argument is as valid as the other... Or not?
