421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: what will i need to make an asic antminer s7? on: June 20, 2016, 01:54:19 PM
From looking at the images and description on the product listing, there are a few hashing boards (3) and a control board (apparently a composite board in its own right), and the mining boards are connected with 18-pin ribbon cables. Each mining board contains supporting electronics and a bunch of BM1385 ICs that do the actual hashing.

If he truly mean's "what will i need to make an asic antminer s7?".  He is going to need a LOT it is not something you really order say a parts kit and put together.  It comes as a unit ready to go.

If you mean what do you need with purchasing a S7 to make it run, well then a PSU.   I would suggest using the Bitmain AP3 PSU.  But if you truly mean make and want parts to make it is going to be hard.  About the best you could do is buy broken ones and try to repair, but not sure why you would go this route vs buying a working unit.
422  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help with BITMAIN S5 on: June 20, 2016, 01:38:31 PM
hey guys, im having a problem with my Bitmain s5.
i made a video on youtube explaning the situation...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vgpfsuIzIg

its basicly the 4 lights that run the chips...
i opened the machine and seperated everithing to see if something was wrong... nothing.

please help me, if u want to troll in the comments please dont.

Thanks

Just to get some info was it working and just stopped?   You mentioned reset during video did this happen after a reset or was the reset an attempt to fix?  What PSU are you using (looked like a nice EVGA but checking to be sure)?

But I would check the connections just making sure they are snug.   https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204875015-How-to-diagnose-S5-hashing-PCB show's how to test one chain and the other.   So would start there.

*Later Edit
It's been a while since I have had a S5 on hand so looked at some other things.  Which connector is fan connected to (hard to tell in video)?  It almost looked to be opposite as in https://bitmain.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204875635-My-Fan-does-not-spin

I will try to help some on here with what I see as possible problems. But if I don't hit the nail on head and catch what it is you might contact https://bitmainwarranty.com/ on repair services if it ends up being in need of repair.
423  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where to sell my S7 Miners? on: June 20, 2016, 01:19:47 PM

You can cancel bids from anyone & bar bidders from your auction at any time  Cool

You can not cancel the last few seconds bids.

You can cancel the auction but it can be quite a pain.   If a "bad" buyer get's the winning bid right before closing or through buy it now huge pain.

Last one I canceled was a code for a computer game I got for buying video cards.  The buyer said something about unauthorized bid.... and I had to wait like 1.5 weeks-2 to get fee's taken off my account for a sell that did not happen.  The buyer did some sort of unauthorized bid (might have been unauthorized payment been a bit) in paypal side but not on ebay side so it still showed as valid sell on ebay.  The buyer did not push button he agreed sale did not go on ebay just paypal.  So I had to wait for me to win by no contact from buyer.... all over a few dollars on ebay fees.

But overall I would  agree you can do decent selling old gear on ebay.  I personally keep it till I almost cannot mine profitably at that point I sell to "free" or super cheap electricity users.   This also makes it where I'm not selling a super high/new high dollar miner. Which helps limit possible loss.
424  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asking for your advice on: June 20, 2016, 12:17:08 PM
Hello guys!
I'm planning to buy S7 in near future, like an investment of money I'm ready to lose (I understand the risks, increasing difficulty and halving, but nevertheless). Online calculator says 190 days of ROI. My electricity price is 0.06/kWh, so I expect at least $200/month
So, the question is - is it better to wait for halving, will the price of equipment be down after the halving? Can I expect any decrease?
Another question is - how long can (S7) it live? I mean, do I need to be afraid that it can die before ROI?)

Thanks!

Your electricity rate is fine, but the time to enter is not. If you are persistent I would advice you to wait for the halving. A week after the halving the prices for equipment should go down.
Although I don't expect the prices 'to halve' which means either way you end up paying too much...

The difficulty adjustment and price adjustment will lag behind the block reward by at least a week if not a month.  Factoring that in waiting might not be the best case.

It is a trade off of getting a possibly cheaper unit, and giving up pre-having mining day's.  Some people talk about doing this but I think the machine's price already has it factored in that around X day's of mining are pre-having and so many after.   So I don't see after having some massive drop.   On price it is still going to be a great miner and running far after having... so it would be priced with that in mind I think.

So in my speculation yes likely cheaper.  But giving up the mining day's before having could be a decent amount of mining your passing up on for a price that is far from certain.  I think price drop will be more gradual not just drop off huge after having.   But pure speculation on my part.  Look at amount of time till having - http://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/ by waiting you are giving up a decent amount of BTC in hopes of it dropping in price is only thing we know for sure.
425  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: June 20, 2016, 12:05:14 PM
Is it possible to get Daily Payouts from this Singature Campaing?
Can u consider how high the fee for withdraws is?

This campaign offers a higher payout than your yobit signature. They are only offering weekly payouts and if I am correct, there are also some members who have a fixed monthly payment.

Would be great to know Smiley Iam about thinking reserving a Slot in your Campaign Marco.
They don't have an open slots at the moment.

I have applied for the campaign.Hope i get accepted
Where did you applied? Based on OP there is no available slots.
Here http://bitsig.website/beta/
It says " Would you like to join ? After posting  request we will check it manually so please wait !"

I know this is no the anwser you want, but trying to help you.  You might find that there or instructions in the thread but as of right now there are no open spot's.  If you look at the very first page at the top that is current.   So anything about joining if you do it... does not get you in.  And I know that is not the anwser you wan't but the front page will change if ever open:

No New Spots!
CoinBank which was Bit-X is honestly the best campaign out there which is why SO many people still apply even with no spots thinking they will get in somehow (look at just about any page).  But it does not work that way.    Marco has ran a great campaign so I see it to his credit.
426  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: June 20, 2016, 08:13:23 AM
hey there miners Smiley have such obvious question, i can purchase 2 s7 batch 10 and i have free electricity - can it be profitable even after block half divide?

Yes if you have "free" electricity you have a big advantage.  Since no cost to run you can keep running there is not a time it cost more to run then it makes, which again big advantage.  So having will cut reward but you still earn BTC for mining after and with "free" electricity you should still do well.

I would make sure you have the amount of "free" electricity for 2.   As I have no idea what your set up is like as far as electricity available.
427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn btc help on: June 20, 2016, 06:48:11 AM
Hi guys
I rellay need help
I have to earn at least at least 0.3 btc in week
Is there any job or any thing i can do
With out risks
(Gamble or invest)
Please if you have any info or job tell me
Thanks all
Gamble.and.invest  these are the ways were you can earn 0.3 btc a week. It could be even more if you join trading.
It will take you almoat 2 months to earn that 0.3 btc by joining only on signature campaigns

Gambling is not an investment or a way to get .3 BTC a week.  To get that amount your betting a good amount of money, or bets that have almost no chance of winning.  Even if you do manage to win long term you will lose.  It is a hobby not a way to make money.

Investing can do it but it is hard.  Were talking about a way to repeatably make .3 BTC a week or  228 USD approx.  So over 900 dollar a month currently.  You are going to have to invest a good amount to pull this amount weekly.  And it depends on what type of investing as investing is very broad.  If were talking about trading... hard to do as it's ever changing.  If invested in mining if cheap enough electricity maybe but again get's to a decent sized investment.

So long story short most will not do this without investing a lot.  And it is not easy to repeat or everyone would be doing it.
428  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 btc? on: June 20, 2016, 06:39:05 AM
is it a easy way to get one bitcoin for free Huh
i'm just wondering.
A easy way to get 1 btc? I think nope. If someone can earn 1 btc easily, all people already rich now. The fastest way how to earn 1 btc quickly just by work and buy 1 btc or get payment with btc from your work.

And as I have said bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme.  You have to look at the fiat value of a single bitcoin which is around 760 USD right now.   So a good chunk of change where you will not be earning it for free quick/easy.  Bitcoin is just not going to do that for you.  It is unrealistic once you look at the bigger picture.

If you 1 BTC free a month for a year that is 12 BTC.   Might not sound like much but take that times current value of 760 and were around 9,120 USD in a single year.  So not so far away from 10k a year.  So again were taking about a good amount of money you will not be earning this big free/fast.  It is possible to gain BTC for free say signature campaign or such but it is going to take a while to get to 1 BTC.
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what should i do to earn bitcoin? on: June 20, 2016, 06:32:14 AM
You can search it to the internet theres so many ways to earn btc claiming from faucets is easiest way to earn you just have to spend so much time if you want to earn more and of course you also need to have effort and patience on it because faucets has a different minimum withdrawal it is the most recommended way to earn btc for the new bitcoin users or if you have some skills to offer you can earn btc without using faucets . Goodluck dude .

Faucets are honestly not worth the time.  Were talking about micro earnings some use wallets such as Xapo since it's dust payments really.   You could spend hours and make cent's so not the most efficient way to spend time.   I consider it a myth you will get rich or even decent money from faucets.

At best the money from faucets is really just good for learning bitcoin if you don't want to spend any money.   Using the time to learn a skill like you mentioned is much better use just a lot better way to spend time.  And will pay off so much more in the long run.
430  Other / Meta / Re: PSA: ACCOUNTS WILL BE LOCKED IF THE SECRET QUESTION IS USED TO RECOVER IT on: June 20, 2016, 06:10:20 AM
Is this why I can not make a secret question? I would assume so, but I figured I would ask anyway I did not see it in this thread anywhere

You can (can't you??). But you probably should not.

It will make your account vulnerable. (which is why the account gets locked to protect account theft when that is used to recover account)
Quote
Using this feature is not recommended. Anyone who guesses your secret answer will have access to your account.

If you made it now it is not that the question would make it vulnerable.  It is that there was a past security breach where the ones at that time were compromised.   So a security question in itself is not really making it vulnerable, but the problem is account's that have same security question now as time of breach.    It also becomes even harder with inactive accounts as chances of changing security question are none.

So the security question now locks to prevent compromise.   It is a pain for those who hit it but it is considered known now, and we really have a LOT less using security questions now then we did say in October of 2015.  If you look back there was quite a few more then say today it has went down drastically that more users know it locks account's.
431  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashocean[.]com Best Cloud Mining Operator World Wide? on: June 20, 2016, 06:01:36 AM
this just changed because of the bitcoin price and the payouts are very stable to the difficulty. i Could not say so far why its not a good cloud mining Opportunity.

They just do not have the trust there like say hashnest. I think of hashocean as a scam site I don't see anything that proves they have hardware they can fake mining.  All signs point to them being scammy such as 2 month ROI mentioned.

Also look at their calculator on repayment - https://hashocean.com/repayment/ .  They have up to two years with out difficulty change... having.... etc.   For $6.20 they say in 2 years I will have  $78.31 paid to me.  Sound unrealistic? I think so... so again scammy.   Add to this the recent amount of post's it seems like a gorilla tactic on advertising lately.

i just heard over a big and stable use in brazilia. also u can see people investing several thousand of btc and several btcs every day by day. they making huge profits already with roi since 500%+
if this would all be a scam. this would be the sickest scam ive ever seen and made as fuck. This have been made out of an mathematical professor or something to get this so far going if this is scam?

i mean the site is paying for now over 2 years?

To be clear I'm not trying to be mean it is just the math does not add up.  You will not make the same about of BTC this week as you will in say 2 weeks (a different difficulty period).   Their calculator makes it seem you make the same per week for 2 years which is not going to happen.  It just is never going to be that simple that we make the same without any difficulty rising for 2 years.

I find it to be a scammy site due to payback time, calculator, etc.  I personally would not invest there some may have made big ROI... but I don't think it will be with this site.   And that is my opinion.  I do find it funny how much it has been mentioned in past week or two (specifically in beginner forum) seems to be shills again my opinion.
432  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: June 20, 2016, 05:28:12 AM
This time I gave a 2 day run (48 hours) to Kano.is Pool.  During the run the miner itself did very well getting a GH/S AVG of 13,994T so very close to 14T with operating during the 2 day run.  Again it did it with very low hardware errors just as it has operated with other pools..  The pictures below show the results from mining on Kano.is:

This is rather large but is most likely the info most will want to see it is the shift graph: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/notlist3d/S9/Kano-Shifts-2d_zps0xjkx0rc.jpg
Here is a full sized version of worker page: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/notlist3d/S9/worker-2d_zpsihzpy0ry.jpg.jpg

Below is brief version of the worker page (shows a little high on pool side but was still a great run):

the problem with high pressure air cleaning is that they spin the fans so fast while cleaning that its almost guaranteed that the fans will die.

Thanks notlist3d for being nice to this guy  Wink

talwinder, you are a moron for letting your gear get that bad  Roll Eyes

I bet you buy a new PC every few years from Dell/HP  Cheesy

I wonder what inside your house looks like  Shocked

No problem I try to help with being nice I figure me being mean to someone really does not help them learn.   It honestly scared me seeing all that dust I hope OP got it cleaned out we never did get a report back.

I personally use a air compressor with miners that have mined long term to clean.   Lately it seems some have tried different things on fan's to try to prevent dust which I find interesting.  I still have not put any filters up as I'm scared to hurt airflow.  Monitoring and cleaning is kinda a part of life when you run miners long term.  But I have never had one reach near this level I am happy to say.
435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Where to sell my S7 Miners? on: June 20, 2016, 04:11:51 AM
I have 4 S7 Miners to sell, not really sure where is the best place to sell them?

ebay

Be careful on Ebay as sadly there are bad buyers out there.  With forum you will get a lesser price but you know buyer is good depending on user/history.  With Ebay keep in mind paypal/ebay fees add up.   But still most likely is higher price there then forum.

I suggest doing a buy it now and take offers as it allows you to kinda pick buyer with good feedback.  (If someone pay's the buy it now then not so much).   Just be very honest on listing on condition and use pictures of unit to help prevent issues.
436  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread june 7 to june 20 -picks are closed!!.... prize = 0.20 btc on: June 20, 2016, 04:08:25 AM
Bitwisdom actually went down a little:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    196,061,423,940
Estimated Next Difficulty:    207,642,908,138 (+5.91%)
Adjust time:    After 173 Blocks, About 1.1 days
Hashrate(?):    1,570,383,048 GH/s

So not a huge amount down but still would be nice if we end up in 5's that would be a sucess to me.    And price at coinbase 761, so still not bad there.  If we could get that as a new base over 750 even 10 dollars is fun to see to me.
437  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the best hardware to mine Bitcoins? on: June 20, 2016, 04:06:10 AM
I'm looking to buy some hardware for mining bitcoin, since I have no spending power, then wanted to know what would be the best hardware to be able to mine?

If you have no money, then why bother buying hardware? Better use that money on a nice suit and get a job.
Bitcoin mining, even with free electricity is fun and fun only,

There is no way you make ROI, and with the halving coming up, you will overpay on any miner you buy.
Not entirely true. If he does have cheap electricity, he could be making ROI with even outdated miners. We don't know the details, so he might as well be asking for a car when he has ten bucks to spend. If your electricity is cheap enough (lower than 0.1$/kwh), you could make a profit with the S9 if you chose to buy it. S7-LN may work, but it really does depend how much your electric rates cost.

Some people prefer the doom/gloom and spread info that is not really true.   Some want to say mining is dead! Is it true? Ofcourse not there are still many of us miners out there.  It is true it takes decent electricity prices in some areas it is not feasible to do it.... but there are hosting so you still can mine.

Look at BTC's recent surge in price there is obviously still lot's interested in it.   So even though having is coming we have a great new miner in S9 for us with more normal electricity to keep mining.  And there are those with "free" and very cheap that will no doubt be able to run older gear even after having.  How old of gear? Hard to speculate we will see after having.  But ROI is still very much possible, just takes longer then it did years ago.
438  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashocean[.]com Best Cloud Mining Operator World Wide? on: June 20, 2016, 04:01:45 AM
Never heard of it until you mentioned. Most likely a scam site. Don't go near it, stay away, far away, do not send them any bitcoins or money. Even the legitimate ones rip you off. Cloud mining is a joke, a cruel joke to separate you from your hard earned money.

It is one that magically started getting people to post here for it.  It started in beginner forum I suspect it is shill account's related to site.  For the past week or two they have been posting a decent amount of it.  They mark repayment as 2 months.... or 1-2 months.    So all signs point to scam - https://hashocean.com/pricing/ .  Anyone that has a timeline like that just is not realistic and trying to attract suckers.

Hashnest remains the king of cloud mining.   If you want cloud mining just go there and you stand a chance at ROI, compared to scam sites.  You actually get hash ... and it's real and legit.

There are no spot's currently look at pages before you will see multiple trying to apply but spot's are full, as shown on first page it's still current.  So even doing all of the adding/joining CoinBank it is applying for a spot that is not there.

No New Spots!
For those in campaign it looks like reset worked perfect again!  Thanks Marco it's been very smooth on it.   Last payment was very quick hopefully this is same Smiley

Yesterday was +9.72% with 158 Blocks and this Morning we are off to a brisk start which has pulled us out of the nice +4% to +5% rut we were in. Period to Date now at + 5.25% and there may have been some Hash added this Morning? Couple of Days to go for the period, how time fly's....

The Coin seems to have found a floor around $750, let's hope we can build again from there.

Rich

I feel pretty good about the floor it is not the around 800 it surge up to for just a bit.    We have done great this period getting this new floor, and still have around 3 weeks or so till having.  So a not a ton of time but still enough to make it  interesting.
