421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You have $1,000 to put into 3 Altcoins for the biggest ROI. Your options are... on: September 26, 2017, 11:52:18 AM
My 3 bet coins are NEO, WAVES and NEM. I like NEO because many says it is the "Ethereum of China" and it is based on Ethereum blockchain. The thing I like WAVES it has its own Exchange called DAX (decentralized Exchange), we need this because we know there are many issues with centralize exchanges like Poloniex. NEM for me is one of the advanced and secured system. All these three I believe in their Dev team. That's why I am holding their coins for long term investment.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins the new "Penny Stocks" ? Will they take over Wall Street? on: September 26, 2017, 11:31:58 AM
There are over a thousand companies and stocks listed on major U.S stock exchanges.  Despite tech giants like Apple (APPLE) and Google (ALPHABET) having near trillion dollar valuations, its has not taken away from the other approx 20,000 other stocks sold on various exchanges:

https://www.quora.com/How-many-publicly-traded-companies-are-in-the-world.

There are only only approx 900 Altcoins in the world compared to 20,000 U.S stocks.

Bitcoin (BTC) has a valuation of approx $40 Billion USD but smaller Altcoins like FOOTYCASH (FOOT)  and Tatoocoin Limited Edition (TLE) have seen 5000%+ increases in the past month.

Are Altcoins becoming the new penny stocks?

UPDATE:

With the Feds now trying to regulate tokens like DAO, does this mean that altcoins are poised take over Wall Street?

For me this will be a long way journey for this thing to happen. Before it take over Wall street, Bitcoin and other Cryptos must be accepted as legal digital currency in the world.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is myetherwallet.com on: September 26, 2017, 10:24:24 AM
hi guys, I'm guys wondering what is myetherwallet.com, they say that it isn't a wallet? but can we use it as wallet to store our ETH?
and the next question is, if we have token, how can we convert it to ETH or BTH using myetherwallet.com?

If you want to create a new wallet without having to download the blockchain and do not wish to download a big part of it, you can simply use the web based application, MyEtherWallet. You can send/receive/store ETH and other ETH based tokens. Just have multiple backups of your private key and keep safe your keystore file.
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: September 26, 2017, 07:42:23 AM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

It is the responsibility of parents to prepare their children through financial education. Preparing children for life and living. As your child becomes more aware of money, it is very important that you introduce them some investing knowledge. They may earn more than you do, but they will just spend more and save less. That is why it is important now more than ever that children learn important lessons about money. Show them cases or real life experience that will help them realized if they do not grow up financially educated. Step by step until they are wise on spending their money.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: September 26, 2017, 07:00:00 AM
Bitcoin price keeps increasing. Price is x10 considering last year. Even 25k-50k-100k is predicted.

Are you adding more bitcoin by buying with cash? or you trade or invest in ICOs & altcoins in order to increase the amount you have?

or do you just hold what you have?

The answer is YES. Yes I keep on buying even its 5 times or 10 times larger than the yesterday's price. Actually I make it a routine to buy Bitcoin monthly every time I got my salary. It's like saving your hard-earned money in Bank, but the difference is you are buying Bitcoin. I have a consistent amount of money that I am going to use for purchasing Bitcoin. While having monthly routine, I am also buying Alts, hodl it for months then sell it. This will help me multiply my Bitcoin.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: September 25, 2017, 07:02:20 AM
Hi guys!
We all know that gambling is not only a fun but also potential danger. So are you limiting yourself somehow when gambling? DO you use casino's instruments to prevent you spending more money?
Or do you just limit yourself by setting a certain amount of money to spend? Or you don't limit yourself at all?
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,
Yours OshiHugo, Oshi.io CM

In all aspects in our life, we definitely should have set limits on ourselves. Too much is dangerous. So in terms of gambling, set limit. Some people do not set limits to the point that they are taking risk too much that will end them broke.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know game like pusoy or tongits? on: September 25, 2017, 04:28:24 AM
Guy i would like to ask if there is a site accepting bitcoin to play tongits or pusoy?
You can see here what is pusoy and how to play it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRiKihmN6fs

And tongits how to play it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=due_i0OdsxM

That is quite popular here in the Philippines. I've tried to play that and it's fun. It test your strategic skills because it's a play of minds. But I do not know any that accepts Bitcoin to play tongits and pusoy. Well, it is not impossible for that to happen.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monetha (MTH) on: September 24, 2017, 06:00:24 AM
I've heard a lot of good feedbacks about Monetha and the ICO was successful. This project will have a great impact in the market specially in the crypto world because it will let us spend our ETH directly to the merchant without using third party. It may be a long way journey for Monetha to take over Paypal or to compete with Paypal, but I certainly believe that this will have a place in the online payment system. Great idea with great minds.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Most Undervalued Coin of 2017! on: September 21, 2017, 12:21:45 PM
This discussion was created to compile the general consensus on which crypto are the most undervalued (Have massive potential to grow).
Please list your coin(s) below and why do you think so?

In my opinion, NEM is one I know that is still undervalued. Good thing about NEM is that it has its own Blockchain wherein you can do your business, like smartcontracts, crowdfunding, sales of asset, etc. One big thing is its quicker than Bitcoin and with low fees. I believe it will hit probably $1 this end of the year so I suggest invest as early while it's still below $1. But this is all my ideas for you to think about but you should do your own research also.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: September 21, 2017, 11:24:24 AM
Better not to compare the two, because as I understand both coins. They have different purpose or goal. Bitcoin aims to disrupt Paypal and online banking. Bitcoin is like a digital gold, offering a monetary system free from inflation and intervention of government. While Ethereum has the goal of using a blockchain to replace internet third parties - those that store data. In short, Ehtereum wants to be the World computer. Though Ethereum allows faster transactions than Bitcoin. But we cannot say that Ethereum is better in all aspect. Bitcoin will never be in the first place in coinmarketcap if its not better in all cryptos.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think an ICO, or coin, is all about the marketing? on: September 21, 2017, 10:25:20 AM
I mean most these ICOs are not even original ...
Adult dating, real estate, gambling, etc etc ...
Really there is nothing new to the table, so what is it about ?
How much you spend on marketing ?

ICO means funds are raised for a new cryptocurrency journey. It is use to raise money to fund their project. And as I noticed also, I agree with you. They are all the same, same promise. They just differ on how will they execute or develop their project. Of course they will spend too much money on marketing. The purpose of marketing is to spread or to inform the people about what they want to offer in public. So advertisements, people who spread the words, they are well paid I think. Because they are the one who is working to spread the new crypto to others.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are ICOs scam? on: September 21, 2017, 09:40:06 AM
I just joined an ICO, is there any possibilities that I will be scammed. They have just collected $5-10 million.

ICOs are not actually bad. They may provide fair and lawful investment opportunities. You as an investor should be cautious in considering an investment in certain token. You should exercise due diligence before investing in ICO. The best way to protect yourself from being victim of a fraudulent ICO is to investigate as thoroughly as possible before you enter in a fundraising project.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What to do when price keep dropping ? on: September 21, 2017, 06:45:08 AM
What to do when price keep dropping ?

We all know that cryptocurrency price depends on demand and supply. Demand and Supply determine the price. Also every rumors/news may have a big effect on price. So when prices are dropping, do not panic and stay calm. Some will say, "Buy more", "Buy the dip". But before you do that, you must re-evaluate the coin/s you own and determine the reasons why its prices fall. If you think the market just overreacted to something that's why its price falls ,then buying more coins may be a good thing. It is important to realize that it is not advisable to simply buy the dip. You may consider "Buy the correction". Or sometimes , the best thing to do when your coins' price has fallen is to dump your coins and cut your losses.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you read ICOs white paper before investing? on: September 21, 2017, 04:48:54 AM
I see a lot of people that do not bother to read the paper,
I try to do max due deligence before buying any coin.

What about you?

Whitepaper is an informational document issued by the creators of a certain token to promote or highlight the features that they want to offer with their token. It is use to promote and inform the potential investors. So it's very important to understand first the Token and how it works before you invest your money. Because not all ICOs are going to be successful, so better to study it first. Of course you don't want your hard-earned money be put on something and might be gone in just like that. So be cautious.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest for 2018 ? on: September 21, 2017, 02:32:53 AM
hey guys

i wanna know whats the best Alt to invest for huge gain 2018? (invest and waitin for 1 year)

Thanks in advance

Aside from Bitcoin, definitely for me Bitcoin will always be my number 1 when it comes to investment. I like the platforms of Maidsafe, Bay, Ethereum(no doubt), Waves (my favorite) and RLC. These coins got my eyes because I believe they will have a great impact next year because of their project that they want to develop. But of course, Don't be blind and you may look on other projects as well. There are a lot of promising coins out there, you just really have to study them and analyze them on how will they help or improve our society today.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents disagree with MMO – Make Money Online and Bitcoin ? on: September 20, 2017, 09:27:58 AM
My parent , especially my mom , she always tell me to stop doing bitcoin otherwise i will go to jail or doing bad things to social ! I don't get it ! Old generation seem very lack of experience in Bitcoin ! Why they keep telling us to stop when they even don't know how to check a simple email on ebay ! How to explain them guys ?

It's normal. They're just protecting you from harm. Parents will always be protective to their children. Maybe you can show them that Bitcoin really change your life for better. It is hard to tell someone about something that they are not interested to look into it. Try to show them some articles or news about Bitcoin. Either me will be hesitant and doubtful about Bitcoin, because it's new to my ears. But when someone will show me proof or something that will help me realize that Bitcoin is not illegal or scam, I will believe him/her somehow.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: September 20, 2017, 03:54:43 AM
Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Thank you Smiley

After the Hard fork recently, I think somehow the transactions fees have been lowered. When you don't want transaction fees, you should try to buy to another person. P-2-P transaction, for no charge. Because when you buy to an entity, definitely it will have charges. Anyway, having Bitcoin rapidly increases its value, you won't feel the high charges because to average your gain over expense, you are still in profit.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: September 20, 2017, 01:53:08 AM
I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

+1 agreed.  It's a commodity, a digital store of value.

I think of it as a commodity, not yet money. Agree with you. Commodity is something that we can be bought and sold. In connection with Bitcoin, it is something that we are buying, then we sell it in exchange of money. Since it is not yet acceptable all over the world as payment, we cannot consider it yet as money. That's my opinion.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: September 19, 2017, 12:50:37 PM
I first started with no idea about Bitcoin is. I just saw my friend's post about news on Bitcoin. Then I find it so weird because it's new to me. As I do my research, search the meaning ,purpose, benefits, etc. I find it interesting that's why I chat my friend and I let him teach me about trading. Then as I do trading, I want to earn more, I wanna multiply my Bitcoin as much as possible. So I created an account here in Bitcointalk. I learn a lot here, know more about coins.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves hold for longterm Good or Not? on: September 17, 2017, 07:53:03 AM
Dear friends,

I have 2 BTC - it's all my money.
Should i buy and hold Waves coin for longterm (end of 2017)
Thank you so much

Waves has a good platform. It's good for long-term investment. But do not put all your money in one coin. There are many coins out there that are also good for investment. Try XEM, Dent, Gnt, eth, ltc.
