May be problems with adittional cards and that aftermarket cooler on them.

Nice to know, that those 111% and 127% is working

so...

did anybody get a shipping number or any new ASIC items yet?

No, read here: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/showthread.php/251-More-Jalapeno-Pictures-amp-Shipping-Update

95% for me too Sad

Nice that there will be some progress soon. But when it will be possible to change this thing with twice a week payout? Is it so hard to do? Most pools have automatic payout option, or choice to do it manualy.

request for info:

When  the difficulty changes in the middle of a week, we have a hard time knowing how many shares are at the old rate vs the new rate.

Now with even more uncertainty as to how much each share is worth, AND the upcoming work at who knows what rate. I for one would like to ask that a page be created that shows how much each worker makes at what exact pps.  I am not looking for anything pretty, just a dump to a table of workers, number of shares, and how much per share.

Is this possible?

Agree

I would like to see this too, and the current pay per share rate would be great too.

I am not in the habit of giving six plus month loans interest free.

Anyway... I was not the first to gpu mine and i still did just fine. Asic will be no different.

It was a serious question though. Many did calcs based on getting in on 50 btc reward time frame which is quickly slipping away. Now it seems we have 25 block reward and price that is flat for future asic miners. Getting hardware first is becoming uber critcal for quick roi. If all ship in same time frame you essentially swapped gpu for asic with no quick roi as diff will adjust oh so fast instead of slower ramp up due to just bfl hardware coming first.

Tons of people preorder MMO's and video games all the time way before release date, so it's not unheard of for that to happen.  As for RoI, anyone that calculated RoI and assumed the 50 BTC rewards for anything more than 1 difficulty level is an idjit.  All my RoI calculations were done assuming 25x to 50x difficulty increase/reward drop calculations.

When you preorder a video game or pretty much anything they don't charge you until it ships. They may charge a initial deposit of a couple dollars are most.

Yea, but you are not just preorder some fun like its with videogames. You preorder non existing product, which needs serious investment to be made. Besides that, you are gonna make some coins too.

Very nice graph and good article, keep up the good job  Smiley

Con, can you tell us anything about the progress with BFL ASIC support?  Please choose one of the following:

1.  I can't talk about it, I'm under NDA.
2.  I've logged in remotely to their servers and have poked around a little.
3.  I've logged in remotely and have already begun creating code for BFL's ASIC to work with cgminer.
4.  I have no plans to log in remotely to BFL and won't do anything until they send me some real hardware.
5.  I have real hardware in hand and am working on the code.
6.  I won't support BFL ASIC because I won't develop for them for free and they haven't paid me yet.

No NDA, no physical hardware, no remote access, not even a protocol document to work from. Nothing has been done yet. Will start once I at least get protocol docs.

Sometime next year I'm thinking Wink

No it will be in 4 to 6 weeks.  Wink

So ASIC support will be in 4-6 weeks? Or are you talking of availability of asics?
431  Other / Off-topic / Re: Upgrading jalapeno to little sc preorder? on: November 03, 2012, 05:39:54 PM
I was assured my original order date would remain valid.  This is confirmed in my new order.
is this for sure for all upgrades?
TIA

Has anyone tried to upgrade a Jalapeno to an SC Single Upgrade? I emailed requesting that, but I think someone must have misunderstood me because they sent me an invoice to upgrade to a Little Single.
1 jalapeno to 1 Single SC, is not an option, Quote: "Due to popular demand we will amend our upgrade policy to allow you to upgrade 1-4 Jalapenos for a 30 GH/s Little Single and still keep your place in line."  etc.
https://forums.butterflylabs.com/entry.php/8-Policy-Change-on-Jalapeno-Upgrades

I have upgraded 2 japalenos to one little single SC. It took a while when they confirmed the deal, but it has been done finaly.
432  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICs any proof they are coming for ANY of the companies? on: November 03, 2012, 03:20:32 PM
I'm an eBay power seller. My only experience with paypal reversals is that all the customer has to do is say that they weren't satisfied with the weather on the day of the purchase and they automatically get their money back.

Agree to this one. Paypal "protects" buyer on any costs.

Any improvements planed soon?

All my life my computers are always doing something so they are always on. They last for years and years and years with almost no problems. 6 months of always on should never kill anything unless it is running abnormally hot.

Me too, but that one misterious card has been very tricky. So far good with lowered clock frequencies.
435  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER GPU FPGA overc monit fanspd RPC stratum linux/windows/osx/mip/r-pi 2.8.7 on: November 01, 2012, 07:02:55 AM
Maybe someone can help?

In my 4x5870 rig i have a problem recently.

One of the cards stops working and cgminer says invalid node: hw error
Is that card dead? After lowering and taking back clocks on that card it can work again.

Thanks if anyone can help.

If it 'can work again', then it's not dead  Huh .. wouldn't you say? If it can no longer clock as high, maybe there's a heat issue (heatsinks can detach slightly and/or thermal paste is not as effective over time)

Its temps is very good ~ 60-70 all the time, maybe its PSU fault?

2.8.7 version of cgminer has been working for me smooth on my 7970 rig in windows. Before that i saw random crashes with erlier versions, good job.

I realy hope BFL will deliver soon and sooner than others.

I have erned atleast 1.9 BTC at this time, but have not recieved payment.

PM'ed you.  Your balance was less than 1BTC for last week's period, but you have since earned more.

Thank you, sorry for misunderstanding. Wrong time zones can make difficult calculation Cheesy
