501  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2500 GH] BTC Guild - Pure PPS Merged Mining, Port 80 Mining, No Invalid Blocks on: September 13, 2012, 07:52:37 PM
BTC Guild - Stratum Pool Beta
The Stratum based pool for BTC Guild is now open for testing.  During testing, PPS rates will be paid at 100% (0 fee).  Payouts will be run on Wednesday and Sunday of each week during testing.  A "payout" from the Stratum beta will be moving your unpaid Stratum balance to your main account balance for withdrawal/automatic payout.

You can find full details on how to connect and downloads for the stratum-mining-proxy at https://www.btcguild.com/stratum_beta.php (or click the link at the top of the page).

Please report any bugs/crashes you may find.  When updating your miner settings to connect to your local stratum proxy, don't forget to include backup servers.  This is beta, so there will probably be a few brief restarts in the first few days.

Can you please help to set it up?

I have downloaded stratum-proxy folder and executed bat file. But i cant see there any different ip than -o 198.154.98.196 -p 9332
Do i need to write in place of this http://mine2.btcguild.com:8332 something like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -p 9332, there is no need of username too? But i cant see where i have to read that proxy ip adress Sad

i have plenty of honest transactions but nobody wants to give me any credit. and i didnt steal anything. theft is when you take something that doesnt belong to you without permission. thats not what happened. we discussed a deal to exchange funds for goods. i was gonna deliver but i did some bad deals and wasnt able to stick to the plan.

Just start to pay everyone for atleast some amount, 5, 10 coins to everyone already would be atleast some efort.
509  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: fuck on: September 11, 2012, 09:55:09 AM

evidence is piling up against him though, this isn't looking good.

Can you confirm one or another adress or name ? Thanks for help.
513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with my GPUs when ASIC arrives? on: September 10, 2012, 06:34:36 AM
why? can I somehow sell them for btc and come out ahead of simply mining btc?

They're about neck and neck right now in terms of profitability per watt, however, the profitability of BTC for video cards will be expected to drop upon the introduction of ASIC miners.  ASIC miners do not exist for litecoin's algorithm (which is designed to be more ASIC resistant than SHA256), so GPU mining LTC should remain profitable for some time.

Unlike SHA256, scrypt requires 8kb of L1 cache per process unit and as large as possible, as fast as possible RAM to store a constantly accessed buffer into.  Hence, when ASICs are created for litecoin the gain in speed/watt may not even be on the order of a magnitude, whereas the gain in speed/watt in hashing SHA256 is about 100x (or two orders of magnitude).

So if i use gpu to mine ltc, i can still be cometive with those asics in the market? in theory it should work, as only gpu can produce Ltc, or am i wrong?

Hello,

My name is Dean. It has come to my attention that I have been accused of a crime and my name and address is posted publicly on your website. It has also come to my attention that members of your website are encouraging other members to "pay me a visit". Three guys showed up at my door to question and eventually accuse me of committing this crime. I do not appreciate being harassed and I will not tolerate it. These people are not welcome at my residence for any reason. Please infom the members of your website if they show up on my property again I will call the police immediately. I understand a crime has been committed and they are trying to figure things out but to be perfectly honest thats not my problem. I have no knowledge or information about this crime and I do not wish to be involved. Please remove my name and address from your website immediately and encourage your members not to come around again. Thank you.

Dean Munet

My gut feeling at the moment is that BTC Guy is trying to distract his victims. But I haven't investigated this enough. I'll think about it more tomorrow.

He is just trying to get some time, not sur for what.

517  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who BTCGUY ? scammer on: September 09, 2012, 12:35:39 PM
Retro- sounds you have his contact info... have the cops show up at his door and haul him off in leg irons. He is a filthy scamming piece of trash, and deserves to become somebody's bitch in prison. You can make that happen.

Dont think that the right way would be putting him in prison or involve cops, before he returns everybody their BTC's. Anyone now the best way to get from him stolen money/btc?
518  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Tradebit- be carefull on: September 09, 2012, 06:06:29 AM
Bump. He's sending around pm's asking to buy bitcoins.

Take the coins and don't send him fiat. Then send the coins to monstrs until monstrs has all his 20BTC back. That's what I did.

I've reported tradebit's actions to moneybookers and they promised to look into it --> he is very likely to get his account frozen.

Thanks to mxrider, the comunity must deal with thoes scammers once and for all.

I can offer a good reward in coins, if somebody can pay him a visit and get back my coins too, pm for details.

If i were atleast in america, i would do it myself, and would try to get all involved back their coins aswell.
