421  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Unbestätigte Transaktion seit über einer Woche on: March 08, 2017, 11:21:16 AM
-snip-

Danke

Frank

Machen wir mal ne Liste.

1. Transaktions ID?
3. Ist der Node synchronisiert?
4. Was meinst du mit "Transaktion bleibt bestehen".

423  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help please. "Low fee". All tho it's set to 5 blocks at a percent. It's changed on: March 08, 2017, 06:57:37 AM
50 satoshi / byte is fine if you have some time, please dont suggest people to always use the highest fee. It will just increase the fee for everyone. You probably checked cointape[1]. The biggest chunk of confirmed transactions (~70k) paid 101-120 satoshi/byte. Also the accelerator you likely used[2] is probably over used an no longer accelarating.

So I was looking through the BitBet thread when I found this gem: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=339544.msg3709372#msg3709372 (check the date on the two links), am I missing something here? How can a post in 2013 link to posts made in 2014? I'm also not sure why the link changes from 1240 to 1220 when I switch between pages 61 and 62 since page 62 is what is shown when you click on the 1240 link(which is close to 1220).

The link is to a specific page (not post) of a thread. Since that page does not exist, it shows you the last. Its either a wrong link or several pages of the thread in question have been deleted.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: HELP ASAP (UNCONFIRMED PARENT) on: March 07, 2017, 06:27:57 PM
The childrens fees should be enough to get the parent confirmed. Im rebroadcasting, please send me a PM when they are confirmed (should be the same block).

427  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Sending Fee on: March 07, 2017, 06:23:49 AM
Like to add to this.  I have sent bitcoin in electrum to others recently where its for $300-$500 worth of bitcoin each time usually.  The sending fee when i convert it to usd seems higher now... like up to 46 cents.  The other person does receive the bitcoin pretty quick... less than 10 minutes max it seemed... more like even 5.

I have the fees set as default

transaction fee per kb   0.0005 btc/kb

And its checked marked use dynamic fees

Is there a reason the fees are this higher now than back then?  The person who posted that i should set my transaction fee even higher... i dont think that is even necessary as its already very fast.

But if i dont need the btc to be sent that quickly, how much should i lower the transaction fee per kb?  Because if its a site, i dont mind it that much.  But if im sending to a person, obviously i want the btc sent to them quickly.  But say you have to send bitcoin 25+ times a day, the fees do seem to add up quite a bit don't you guys agree?  Obviously if you are doing big amounts, thats not a big deal but if small amounts, well it sort of add up etc.

Which fee is best is no longer easy to answer. More often than before the network fills up and users respond with higher fees. It seems often the fees do not go back down to previous levels. Electrum offers a dynamic fee for just that reason. It changes your fee to meet your "I want to be in that block" needs. The block number is not exact though and there are other sites, like e.g. https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ that offer similar estimates.

428  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet 3 days unconfirmed :( on: March 06, 2017, 09:02:13 PM
all my transactions are confirmed now

after 2 days of first low fee transaction stuck..

now everything is ok i recieved my bits.

no bad issue about electrum wallet you can use it but dont be as newbie like me

 Grin Grin Grin

Yeah, notice how all are in the same block. Once the first came through, all others came right with it. You should enable replace by fee (Settings -> Fees) as well as dynamic fees (same box) and check the "replaceable" box when creating a transaction. That way you can easily increase the fee in hindsight with electrum should you notice that it wasnt enough.
429  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: HOW CAN I VERIFY EASY INSTALL 2.7.18 for Linux on ubuntu ? on: March 06, 2017, 06:59:27 PM
Thanks, then I guess I need to uninstall Electrum first as I installed using the sudo apt-get install python-qt4 python-pip    etc etc
terminal cmmands to install it, and then follow the installation using Python sources

Maybe there is a way to verify that as well. I only used the source directly so I only know that way.
430  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet 3 days unconfirmed :( on: March 06, 2017, 06:27:37 PM

as i understand of what you saying,, transaction A is too low and is slowing everthing for its so low fee.

Yes.

actually i did it acccidently.. being a newbie maybe..

Maybe, maybe its electrum. There is at least one user that reported a bug with electrums dynamic fee feature.

so i should not try to do any more transactions i supose theyll get stuck waiting for the previouse ones..?

Lets do a little math to see whether or not sending another transaction is what you want to do. Eventually its your coins and your time and you have to decide which is more important (a quick confirmation or keeping as much coins as possible). I will name the transactions as last time.

Code:
D - 407 b - 164.865 sat/B fee
C - 403 b - 81.39 sat/B fee
B - 407 b - 30.221 sat/B fee
A - 406 b - 24.631 sat/B fee

Cointape[1] currently suggests a 240 satoshi per byte fee for a quick confirmation. Assuming similar size we need to find a fee X sat/B so that the average for all 5 transactions is 240 sat/B

Code:
    (164 + 81 + 30 + 24 + X)/5 = 240
<=> (299 + X)/5 = 240
<=> 299 + X = 1200
<=> X = 1200 - 299 = 901 ~= 900

A 900 sat/B fee would be 0.009 BTC/KByte, IIRC thats how electrum shows the fee. Considering that your transaction will likely be ~400 byte thats a pretty high fee. I could easily get 2 cups of black coffee (or 2 Big Macs) for that. There is another big caveat here. I dont know if miners analyse to this depth. This additional transaction (F) would be the 5th in your chain. If they only analyse chains until a certain length and this length is shorter than 5 all this wouldnt help. Maybe someone with more insight (achow101?) can post their opinion on this.

well all i have to is to wait how much it take should more than 1 week Sad ? , nothing can be done?. except waiting..

your explanation is so perfect, i apreciate that Smiley

There is always something that can be done. E.g. you could also try to replace A with a different transaction that is using the same coins. This is commonly called a double spend.

431  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet 3 days unconfirmed :( on: March 06, 2017, 05:17:23 PM
They all require the first one to confirm and your average fee over all is relatively low for something like CPFP to woŕk.

hi Shorena thanks for your reply..

but if u check my last transacction is a 160satoshis im paying 0.8$ usd fee it says 5 blocks.. https://blockchain.info/tx/2eb48c2158c88c9563af1a8ea75f8afff2ad87f4fa2a4444c593eee5005aa690 its the dynim fee recomen
nded.

shall i put even higher fees enable to get my transfers? i thought that one would be enough

thnks

You have 4 in total, lets call them A, B, C and D. A and B pay 25 and 30 satoshi per byte, which is pretty low. C pays 80 satoshi per byte which is ok if you have some time. D pays 160 satoshi per byte which should get you in the next block (or a few more at max).

D cant get confirmed until C is though. Same for B (needs C) and A (needs B). You created a chain. As a single unconfirmed transaction D would have been confirmed already. Due to its dependency on the other transactions it is not. There is something called CPFP (child pays for parent) where miners analyse these chains and check for late transactions in the chain that pay a very high. Confirming these chains could be profitable for them if the fee of the child is enough to make up for all previous transaction paying a low fee. I think in your case its a bit low for that. It should still work give some time though.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction rejected by our node. What do I do?? on: March 06, 2017, 05:11:54 PM
Pushed it, its back on blockchainl.info[1] now. Considering the fee is 26 satoshi per byte it might take some time for a confirmation. Let me know when you want me to stop pushing it via PM (either because its confirmed or because you want to try something else, e.g. a double spend).

433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: March 06, 2017, 05:02:36 PM
This is sure is funny, I hope to get a rare address such as 1Ihave1millionbitcoins0023xx111. This kind of topic is starting to emerge, somebody has posted a topic like this one. He said that we will not stop mining so he can generate a rare address. Though its funny but I admire that persons passion and I hope I can also catch a rare address and sell it haha.

I doubt any one would buy a rare address because the seller would still have access to the private key. I do with I had 1 million bitcoins Grin

No you can safely let someone else provide the calculation power to find a rare address without risking the private key. The method is called split key vanity and everyone offering vanity generation should use this method or be considered a scammer.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction rejected by our node. What do I do?? on: March 06, 2017, 04:56:33 PM
Thanks for the response.

What is the raw transaction, or where would I find it so I could paste it here?

If you open the details window for the transaction (right click -> details) click on the copy button and paste it here[1].

So I'm still left wondering what benefit using public key crypto to encrypt the wallet seed has over the old aes way?

No private key in memory needed to add more data.

But you are not writing encrypted data most of the time. The only thing encrypted with the password is the seed and any imported private keys. The  seed is generated once at wallet creation, encrypted and stored. Same goes for private keys at the time of import. You only need the password for signing transactions and you will still need that even if you use public key crypto.

Just did a quick check searching for keywords in the repo, but it looks like this changed or will so in the future.

Look at the wording of this dialog -> https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/fcc92c1ebdee77a4a414384f23f85d37152fbe7b/gui/qt/password_dialog.py#L175

Hi all.

My transaction was pending for 2days13hrs, I paid a .05 mBTC fee through my Electrum wallet as per usual, never had a problem till now. Today I got a msg saying:

"Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database."

That sounds like the error message from blockchain.info, is that correct?

I don't seem to be able to rebroadcast, as the coins are effectively missing from my wallet.

Open the details of your transaction for that.

My question is this:

1. If my fee was too low, is there any way I can rebroadcast this with a larger fee?

If you enabled RBF yes. Otherwise its also possible, but not as easy as clicking a few buttons.

2. If I do nothing, how long will it take for this coin to be back in my Electrum wallet aka spendable?

You will have to remove the transaction by hand.

I tried using ViaBTC, and it told me "Submissions are beyond limit. Please try later."

ANY help IS MUCH appreciated

Besides the above, if you copy the raw transaction here I can rebroadcast it for you periodically.

440  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: WARNUNG VOR BITCOIN.DE Support konfisziert 2,3 BTC selbst nach SkypeVideo! on: March 06, 2017, 01:28:53 PM
Hallo,

Was soll man dazu noch sagen?
